  • Why am I not eligible for the discounted plan?

    Hello Adobe world,
I have a full and real copy of the Educational version of Adobe Creative Suite CS5 on my laptop. When I went to upgrade to the Creative Cloud, I put in my adobe number and it said I was not eligible. I think it is because it is an educational version, but I'm not sure. There should be some benefit to being an existing adobe customer, even if it is a reduced price educational version! I think I've now accidentally signed up for the full year version (when I thought it would be a monthly plan) as I needed to use it at work when my trial had run out. I wanted to try out the software a bit longer, but not for a year! Now a bit worried I'm tied in paying £46.88 a month, and there's nothing clearly written anywhere that I can see. Does anyone know? Am I tied in? I saw that I would get 30 days to pull out but I think now I've had a 30 day trial maybe that isnt viable.
    Very confused.

    Lizzie,
An educational version cannot form the basis for an upgrade discount.
However, you should be able to get the new version at education discount.

  • IPhone won't update to iOS5 - get error message "iPhone not eligible for ugrade""

I have an iphone 3gs and an ipad, and neither of them will update. I have lion on my 27" imac with all software up to date, and the devices wont update. I recieve error message "your device is not eligible for the requested update"
I have no idea what weird problem this is, but the devices didnt update before i had lion either. Also,  they didnt update to recent versions of iOS4, and I recieved the identical error message.
    Thanks, Cole

This usually means that the device has been unlocked, hacked or jailbroken. If you use iTunes and click the Update button to update you should never see this message; instead it will say that you have the latest version. Where did you get the update file you are trying to install?

I have an iphone4 and that I have had for four years and they are saying that I am not eligible for an upgrade until the end of July 2015. That is four years and 3 months after I purchased this phone. "Customer service" said I had an upgrade at the end of July 2013, which I did not. She said that in the system my husband took an upgrade July 29th 2013. He didn't even have a Verizon phone, he had a work phone with T-mobile. I have asked what device he supposedly upgraded to since no phones have been activated and we all still have our same phones and numbers. Remember at the time, said husband had a work phone with T-mobile. I still have the very same phone as do all of the rest of my family members. No one has upgraded. I spoke with "customer service" for more than a half an hour today, Char promised me that her supervisor (Emily) would call me back by 7:30 tonight to clear up this problem. Well guess what? No call back so where should I go from here? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

someone swapped upgrades.  Phone could have been sold For quick cash.

  • When I try to add a song ti iTunes match it said (This item is not eligible for iCloud.)Why

When I try to add a song ti iTunes match it said (This item is not eligible for iCloud.)Why??

Sorry, Maybe I didn't explain that correctly.
The song has to be available to purchase in the iTunes Store in order for it to be used in Match.
So if you purchased a song from another source or imported it from a CD it  sould show up in Match!
however if say you purchased or imported a rare mix CD, that would not show up.
that is the first step to check anyway.

  • Some playlists and/or songs "not eligible for iCloud"

I have a playlist that contains only music but iTunes Match refuses to upload it, saying it contains "other media types".
Having thoroughly gone through the contents of the playlist, I have found one song, a Frank Sinatra .mp3 ripped from a CD I own, that is listed as "not eligible for iCloud", as well as 4 songs marked by iCloud as "duplicates"
I have tried manually adding the Frank song to iCloud but its status remains unchanged.
The song, in mono, is a 733K MP3
I had to convert it to AAC which nearly quadrupled the size of the file to 3.2 MB and now it's uploaded...
However the status of the playlist remained unchanged until I also removed the "duplicates"
    a) iCloud should nevertheless sync playlists, minus the ineligible tracks
    b) or you should get a warning that it won't sync the playlist, and better error reporting so you can actually understand what the issue is, as opposed to the usually vague "iCloud doesn't like your track, but won't tell you why" message...
    c) duplicate tracks in playlists should automatically (or after a prompt) be replaced by the original track that is in iCloud.
iTunes Match, you have wasted many hours of my time despite my well organized and healthy library.
    Argh.

  • IOS 5.0.1 update on an iPhone 4S:  "not eligible for the requested build"???

I just connected my iPhone 4S to iTunes and clicked "update".  It downloaded the update (took about 10 minutes), and then reports:  "The iPhone could not be updated.  This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
I thought the iPhone 4S was the main target audience for this update?  (though actually, I haven't had battery life issues with 5.0 on my iPhone, by my iPad 1 has had the auto time zone problem from the moment I updated— so I'm actually hoping for it more for the iPad than the iPhone...)
Is there something else coming eventually for the 4S ??

Over the air worked for the iPhone— but why shouldn't the iTunes update work, too?
I get the same error (not eligible) for my iPad 1 in iTunes, but I can't seem to do an over the air update on that one, because after downloading, it just says "Software Update Failed: An error occurred downloading iOS 5.0.1".  I don't know if there are different servers for iPads vs iPhones, but I guess I'll just wait and try the iPad later. (ironically, it was only the iPad, not the iPhone, that had any battery issues with iOS5, due to the auto time zone thing.  The iPhone was fine, so the update was less urgent for it anyway...)
Anyway, that's now an iPad problem, not an iPhone problem!

  • Apple Claiming my Battery is not eligible for replacement????

So I have a Macbook that I purchased back in 2007 (warranty expired in Feb 08)...anyway I only just realised last week that my battery had become deformed....so onto the web I treak to find that Apple was running a +"MacBook and MacBook Pro Battery Update"+ which as it reads in applicable to my situation.
link to the website - http://www.apple.com/au/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
Now while this update was posted back in october 2007 there is no date to state that is program has ended or that there is any cutoff date for claims. The site also clearly states +"you will receive a new battery, free of charge, even if your MacBook or MacBook Pro is out of warranty."+
So off to my local mac service centre in Newcastle where the helpful staff (who I have been dealing with for nearly 15 years) tell me that they suspect that Apple will replace it no problems....so here is the problem...the staff call me today to tell me that Apple have decided that it is not eligible for replacement...why?, the service centre was not told.
What I want to know is, why would Apple say it is not eligible when the website clearly states that it should be??
I am going to ring Apple tomorrow personally but was wondering if others had the same issue, if so what did you do ? and did it get resolved??
    Cheers

+*What I want to know is, why would Apple say it is not eligible when the website clearly states that it should be??*+
It would actually appear that the website "clearly" states that it would not be eligible:
+*This program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer for Intel Core Duo-based MacBook and MacBook Pro computers.*+
The program was also, as indicated, for the original Core Duo machines, not the later released Core 2 Duo machines. As your signature indicates you have a Core 2 machine, I expect that you would also not qualify under that section.
You indicated that your warranty expired in February of '08 which would mean it was purchased in February of '07. If the program extends the battery warranty for two years from the date of purchase, that extended coverage would expire in February '09.
While Apple certainly can choose to replace your battery if they wish, they are under no obligation to do so. Even if you were still within that period, there is no guarantee that the battery would be replaced as stated by:
+*An Apple technical support representative or an Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) will determine if the battery is eligible for replacement, free of charge.*+

  • Iphone5 IOS7 update problem, build A1429, running IOS6.0 "not eligible for requested build"

Bought the Phone from Apple in NL, never been jailbroken.
Running IOS6, but am in UK.. Always have some issues with the app store because I'm listed in UK, dont know why.. But guessing its same as when i want to buy someone a gift card through itunes it says in the small pro=int that it can only be used in the UK Itunes store..
But my problem is that it keeps saying that my phone is not eligible for the requested build, and im not sure why..
    can anyone tell me why?
    thanks.

This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect.  For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart. Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this issue. Try moving the current .ipsw file, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

  • Using iPhone 2.5G, Not Eligible for Upgrade to 3G?!?

    Okay, so here's my story...
I've had an original iPhone for a few months (bought it used), and was using it as a glorified iPod touch, testing it to see if I wanted to get the 3G when it came out. So I decided I'd get the 3G, but on a family plan, in which my Mom gets a cheapo free phone, and I get the 3G.
First problem: Apple Stores don't sell other phones, so I can't buy from Apple.
So, I go to the AT&T store. They have no 3G iPhones, but the man who sells us our phones assures us that I can do the following:
    1. Buy a family plan with two cheapo phones.
    2. Activate my original iPhone.
    3. Go to Apple and upgrade to the 3G iPhone at the subsidized ($299 for the 16GB) price.
However, this morning I went to the Apple Store (after activating my original iPhone last night at home), and the man on his little handheld computer said that I am not eligible for the subsidized price. I'll have to pay $499 for the 16 GB iPhone). Well, after having waited for an hour (I arrived at 7 a.m. after the Apple Store employee yesterday said they open at 7—but that was only M-F), I left, because the man told me I'd have to call AT&T to sort it out.
So I called AT&T, and the lady (with a particularly Indian accent) told me I was ineligible, since I don't have the original iPhone purchase receipt from Apple.
So have I been screwed over?
Worst case scenario, I end up canceling my AT&T plan and switching back to U.S. Cellular. I want to get the 3G, but what the heck? This is insane. Why can't they give me the standard price? It has been reported all over the Internet that AT&T will let existing iPhone customers upgrade to the 3G, and indeed a few of my friends already have.
Message was edited by: Jeff Geerling

I completely missed that in those videos, then...
So, if I took my subsidized phone back to the store, would they let me give that back for a 3G, then? The only reason either of us switched was so I could get the 3G, but if I can't get it for $299 now, then I'm just going to forget about getting one at all, and switch back to US Cellular (we had more minutes in our plan!).
As an aside, the lady who answered at AT&T's help line told me that if I have a receipt for my current (original) iPhone, dated prior to the 11th, I could get the subsidized pricing on the 3G. Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt. Couldn't they tell by the serial number when the phone was purchased?
These are exactly the reasons why I hate cellular plans/companies... I thought things were changing with the original iPhone, but now it's back to square one (except more complicated, since Apple Stores only have iPhones, but can do some family plans, but not others!).

Hi I'm trying to buy the £26 a month adobe subscription but when I enter my serial number it says I'm not eligible for this offer. I purchased CS4 so thought that would qualify for eligibility.
Does anyone have an idea why the product I purchased (CS4) is not eligible?

    Hi Louise,
Is your CS4 serial number registered to same adobe id with which you are trying to place the order?
This offer is not available to Education, OEM, or volume licensing customers.
You can send your CS4 license key to me in a private message if you want me to check its configuration.

  • Can I use my new 4gs on a line different then the one it was upgraded on. I have many phones on my account. I am not eligible for upgrade but I had to buy two new phones for others. Can I give one of them my old iPhone 4 and take the 4gs.?

I have many phones on my account. I am not eligible for upgrade but I had to buy two new phones for others. Can I give one of them my old iPhone 4 and take the 4gs? Thinking maybe switch sim cards? Thanks in advance for any help

    Yes.
Just call your provider and tell them what you want and they will help you get it done properly.

  • Can you trade in your iphone5 for the iphone 6 if you are not eligible for an upgrade?

I want to take advantage of the iphone trade in offer Verizon is offering, can I do this if I am not eligible for an upgrade yet?

    No.
Either wait it out for your upgrade time, or switch to a Verizon Edge plan (you have to turn in your iPhone 5 in lieu of ETF fees).
With Edge, you don't get anything in return for your phone, except out of your current contract.

  • Error while creating Absence as "APP-PAY-51271: The assignment is not eligible for the element

    Hi,
"APP-PAY-51271: The assignment is not eligible for the element."

    Hi Nandhu,
Can you check below two things which can be cause of this error:
    1. The link definition of the non-recurring element which is tagged with this absence type, as a best practice this should be an open link. If the link definition and the assignment eligibility is not matching then you may receive this error.
    2. If you have defined an accrual plan for this absence type, then check if the accrual plan recurring element is been tagged to the assignment for which you are receiving this error.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay
