Why are my region lengths changing?

Doing takes for a guitar solo yesterday, I had all my take folders on the same track. When I was doing my comping I noticed that some of the region lengths of takes further along in the song were changed. At first I thought I may have accidendally selected them all when I clicked on the track, but the same thing happened when I made sure I only had one take folder selected.
Is this a Logic 8 glitch, or am I doing something wrong?

Let's look at my example again. When I am trying to make an adjustment and I'm looking at my color sampler targets, I _must_ have my adjustment layer selected. Target #1 is pointed over a white pixel. Regardless of which layer I have selected, that pixel is white. I can't imagine a scenario in which the readout should be anything other than 255,255,255. That's not a feature, that's a design mistake.
If I want to see, in the readout, the value of the background image's pixel, then I should hide the layer that contains that white shape. Then, that pixel is no longer white, and the color sampler readout should reflect that. Makes sense.
If you truly and honestly believe that users are interested in the color that is a result of compositing all the layers below (and including) the currently selected adjustment layer when they are plaing with the adjustment layer controls, then the UI must temporarily hide any layers above that color sampler as soon as I select the adjustment layer. This is the only correct UX design in that scenario - so that the color sampler once again reflects exactly what is "true" - namely the pixel color on the screen that it is sampling.
And if you re-read that last paragraph you will intuitively know that that would be crazy. I mean, there's no way that a user would want to have the UI hide any layers just because he's clicked on the Adjustment Layer - he probably wants to see the adjustment in the context of the entire composition. If he wanted to hide those other layers, he'd do it himself.
I urge you to reconsider this from the perspective of a real-world user and consider logging this as a bug. I just can't see any way that it isn't a mistake.

You could take a look at this iTunes Version History on Wikipedia if you want a feel for what goes on in each update and how frequent they are. The last few major updates have been two years apart. Most of the point updates have little impact on the way the user interacts with the software. You don't have to upgrade with each update unless you have bought or upgraded a device that now requires a newer minimum version to work with. E.g. iOS 8 requires iTunes 11.4 or later.
There are some major layout changes in iTunes 12, but by and large any task that you could do in 11 can be done in 12. For example the new Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions. If you're used to doing everything via a context menu it is going to be confusing to start with. A workaround is to hold down shift as you right-click > get info on a track selection to get the old style dialog.
Regarding the inability to delete playlists from the device I suspect you were working in the wrong context, i.e. looking at the playlists on the device in say the Music > Playlists sidebar for a device that is synced to the library. You should select the device first from the row of source icons, then Settings > Music from the sidebar, then deselect the playlist in question from the list of playlists scheduled to sync to the device, and sync.

Why only 5 region code changes?

Hi. I recently got a new G5 and tried to play my 1st DVD and got the warning that I must set the region code and will only be able to change it 5 times before its permanently set. Why on earth would Apple ever put a limit on the number of times I can change the region code?This seems extremly inconvienent. I know theres alot of people who have DVDs from different regions and naturally want to be able to view them by changing the region code whenever needed. I read a couple previous threads on this general topic and want to make sure I understand correctly.......is it true that theres no 'fix' for this (other than buying an external drive which is a very expensive workaround for some of us).( I hav'nt set the code at all so far)? I think some DVD players have a "multi-region" setting but I assume this is not an option with the mac?.Thanks.

It's not by Apple's choice. By licensing requirements of the owners of the DVD technology, computer DVD players and computer DVD drives limit you to five region changes before the drive locks to the region of the last DVD you use. Once the drive locks, you cannot play disks from any other region with the Apple DVD Player, and the drive itself may be locked as well.
Try VLC Media Player which reportedly can bypass the region lock. VLC Media Player is very much a work in progress, but it's worth a try. There are also some hacks floating around that can reset the region lock on some drives. You use them at your own risk; in some cases the hacks have permanently disabled the drive and such damage will not be covered under warranty. I'd suggest, though, that you make sure that the last disk you use is from the region you play most often. That way DVD Player will work at least the majority of the time.

Why are my eyedropper targets changing when I select my adjustment layer?

Consider this simple document with 2 layers and an adjustment layer:
Note the eyedropper targets. They read as expected:
Now, observe what happens when I click my adjustment layer (this is a new Levels adjustment that has NOT YET BEEN TOUCHED - so there should be NO CHANGE)
It doesn't matter whether the adjustment layer or its layer mask are selected, the results are the same.
Here are my eyedropper settings:
Proof Colors is off. I can't think of any other setting to play with.
This looks like a pretty huge bug to me, and it's not something I remember from earlier versions. Does anyone know what's going on?

Why are my numbered lists changing formats?

We upgraded from RH7 to RH9. Now all the numbered lists in drop-downs are messed up. For example, the look fine in the WYSIWYG view:
But when generated, this is the result:

In some cases, even the sans-serif font changes to a serif font and the size of the numbers changes. I have tried everything I can think of. I have spent countless hours and am really baffled.

It has to be something so obvious, but I'm missing it.

Why are the video player change size when resizing the window a little?

When I use the video player to show mp4 files, the "player window" changes size if I change the firefox window. Why and how do I do to get the correct size direct (640x480)

Why are my form tabs changing order?

I am manually setting form fill tabs in a multi-page document and each time I set a page and save, one of the previous pages reverts to the default order. Any idea why this is happening or how to prevent it?

Why are my lighting levels changing?

Yikes! I'm on mac with Premier CS6 6.05. Files are AVCHD. It started with just one file loaded onto the timeline in which the lighting level changed. Now, I just got done adjusting audio levels in the timeline on other clips and there lighting levels have now changed, all getting darker. I am a new user, a teacher, and just started using premier pro with my TV students. Sure hope I didn't make a mistake. Thank you!

Why are my settings being changed when I bounce?

I'm trying to bounce files from a Finale playback and everytime I bounce, all the panning and mixing changes I made return to their default setting.

POP or IMAP? If IMAP, have you checked what appears on the server, via your email provider's website? Are the missing messages visible there?
You may have inadvertently selected a setting that shows only unread messages, so when you come back to Thunderbird they are hidden after having been read. Check you have View|Folders|All, and that the Read selector in the QuickFilter toolbar is de-selected.

Calendar: Why are 1-day events changing to 2-day events?

This has happened to me several times today. When I edit a weekly (repeating) "all day" event (scheduled for today) on the Calendar on my iPhone, the event changes to a 2 day event (today - tomorrow). This change is pushed to the cloud and iCal on my Mac, as one would expect. I use my calendar like this several times a day, every day, and this isn't typical behavoir. Anyone else notice anything like this today? My Calendar is my life, so any time it does't work as expected, I get really nervous...
Note that I'm still on iOS 5 and Lion.

Why are my piano roll changes not being bounced down? Help!

I'm trying to make some minor changes to a click track sound. Just moved it down a key in piano roll, but no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to take in the final bounce down. Any ideas anyone?

Think of the arrow pointing from large to small, so the wide fat or large end of the arrow is at the top and the sharp pointy or small end is at the bottom. So it will sort from large to small and alaphbetically Z is larger than A. Click the Name bar and the arrow will reverse with sharp pointy end, small, at the top and large fat end at the bottom so it will now sort A to Z, as A is deemed to be smaller than Z.

Select the text, and open the Appearance palette (Come on guys, text highlight is irrelevant, it happens to objects too says the OP), and see what's listed there. For a simple text object, there should only be a line item "Type", followed by "Characters", and when double-clicked the Characters line item expands to tell you the stroke and fill color. For a basic object, there should be a fill and/or stroke.
What happens sometimes, is that you end up adding extra strokes/fills to objects or text, and the appearance palette is where that will be noted. Especially when you are dealing with groups, and/or picking up a color with the eyedropper, you may inadvertently be adding a fill or stroke on top of something. You can drag those unwanted thingies from the Appearance palette into its own little trash can.

There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.
