Trying to silence my camera shutter noise on my phone, but I can't figure out how do accomplish this. Is it not possible in Japan?

Don't jump all the way to restoring just yet. Check to make sure there's nothing in the headphone jack, and nothing covering the microphones (including the noise cancelling microphone at the top next to the headset jack)

Without more info, here's a wild guess...
Plug it in to power for at least 15 minutes. Then, try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I'm not familiar with non-iOS smart phones, but I'm pretty sure that you'll have to enter your contacts manually. ONce you've done this, back up your iPhone to your computer via iTunes, and to your iCloud account, then do so on a regualr basis. That way, if you need to change your iPhone in the future - an upgrade for example - you can set up your new phone from your previous, most recent iPhone back-up.
Once you've set up your phone, download the Facebook app, log in with your usual credentials, and it should sync with your contacts on your iPhone.
If you mean your WhatsApp app, if your credentials remains the same, I'd have thought they'd appear on your new phone.

Certainly there are Apple employees that peruse these discussions from time to time - including the discussions area for all Apple products, but this is not where the bulk of feedback is acquired.
I know a couple of Apple employees myself, and the ones that participate in any discussions area do so as fellow users only on their own time. The Apple employees that participate here regularly provide the iPhone feedback link as needed. If they were here to gain feedback, there would be no need for these employees to provide the iPhone feedback link. When the iPhone feedback link is used, this ensures the feedback provided is forwarded to the appropriate Apple personnel. Providing it here does not.
I think it is doubtful Apple will allow a 3rd party developer to provide MMS support for Apple's SMS client. Something like this likely must come from Apple. No different from Apple not allowing a 3rd party developer to make changes to the iPhone's Mail application.

Why can't I sync my phone with my computer after both the ios7 and Itunes 11.1 updates?

I just recently purchased the new iPhone 5s and have been very happy with it. At the same time I updated my itunes to the newest version 11.1.0.126.
Since the initial syncing, I have been unable to complete the syncing process. It progresses all the way through stalls out on step 5 "Downloading Safe Safari Browising Data". Is there anything i can do to fix this issue?

No matter how much people try to spout out about the superiority of Apple products, my iPhone should be able to grab music from my laptop and my PC at home, both being authorized already. I've already tried home sharing. I didn't buy the iPhone outright, it was provided to me through work. For all the Apple and Mac only fans, I feel this is Apple's way of trying to make me purchase music I have already bought on CD through iTunes. Whatever happened to ease of use? Customer friendly applications? Anyone else dislike how hard it is to add artwork to an album in iTunes after you load a CD and it doesn't recognize it? Track by track? How about offering one simple, convenient copy and paste to album like in Windows? Oh, yeah, so you give up and buy it again in iTunes. I do like the interface on the iPhone or iPod once things are working properly, however the hoops you jump through are ridiculous. I want to load music off of my laptop, after having most of my library on another PC, and it won't work without deleting the library off of the phone. What is the point of authorizing up to 5 computers if you can't use your music from those different machines? There, I'm getting off of my soap box now.

So I sync my phone on one of my computers and I get the music I want from that computer....then I plug my phone into another computer and I try to get more of my music files from that computer. The problem is: I tunes wants to delete all the previous files that I synced up with my other computer. SOOOO I can not get separate music files off different computers. Why not? Why can't I get my phone to sync to 2 different pc's

I have a work pc & a home pc (which I can't access) and I want to sync my phone to the work pc but it won't do it. Is there a reason for this?

iTunes is designed to sync devices to a single library. If you need to change computers you should move your library to the new computer. If you no longer have access to your original library then

Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

Why can't I activate my phone from Abroad after System Update?

I have been using my iPhone 4 as a glorified ipod touch with whats app etc while I have been studying in Europe. Today when I was updating my iPhone it reset the iphone and is making me go through activation again. When I get to the activation part it says "Your iPhone oculd not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it.." BUT now my iTunes doesnt recognize my iPhone and neither does iPhoto!! What do I do?

Settings > Messages > Receive At > Caller ID. Then select the number.

Why can't I choose my phone number as my signature in text messaging?

I am using iPhone 6. Under settings I cannot choose to use my phone number as my signature. It defaults to my Apple ID ( a personal e-mail) and I do not prefer to use that. I have been into settings but I cannot change my messaging signature to be my phone #. Please let me know how I can change this so that it works in the manner I prefer, not Apple's ID setting.

When I go in to settings>Messages > Send & Receive > My phone number is not a choice. I Cannot choose it (as it is greyed out). I am sure this is somehow related to using iMessage vs. text.
Since I use this phone both personally and professionally I'd like to just choose my phone number vs. e-mail. Thanks for your help so far! Need to find the proper solution.

I'm assuming that you are referring to moving photos, not phones. However, are you referring to photos in the Camera Roll. These are the only photos that you can import from the iPhone. Photos that are in the Photo libraray are synced from the computer to the phone.
With the phone connected to the computer, instead of going into the phone via Explorer, after opening Explorer when you see the drives on the computer and the iPhone, just right click on the iPhone and select Import pictures via Windows. That should open the Import program and you can import the pictures from there.

Why can i not restore my phone from icloud?

I had my i phone 4s stole about a month ago and i got my replacement from my insurance this week.
The problem is, when i'm trying to set up the phone and asked if i want to restore from icloud back up, it searches and says there is no back up available. But when i log in to icloud on the phone (i continued setting up as new phone) i can see my last back up as "30.10.12".

If the device you are trying to restore is running an older version of iOS than the one you backed up, you'll have to update it to the latest iOS before the backup will be available to restore from (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3682). If that's the case, update your device, then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content & Settings, then go back through the setup screens again and see if your backup is now visible.
