Why did my subscriptions reinitialize without uploading data first!?

I am trying to figure out why the subscriptions on my merge replicated SQL Server 2008R2 database got reinitialized without my telling them to.
Last week I created some new tables, added a couple keys, and did minor table column alterations on the publication database. I then generated a new snapshot so the new tables and keys would propagate. I did NOT tell SQL Server to reinitialize
anyone's subscription, and even if I had done that, I would have certainly made sure to select "Upload Changes First".
I have generated new snapshots on this very database before, not reinitialized any subscriptions, and all changes were propagated without problem. This week, however, when users synched after I made my changes and generated the new snapshot, their
subscriptions were reinitialized and their data was NOT uploaded first! So they lost everything since their last synch. An absolute nightmare going on right now.
How did this happen? Does generating a new snapshot automatically reinitialize existing subscriptions? And, further, does it do it without uploading changes first? I do not believe either of these things occur based on my experience and
readings, but then how did this happen?
I don't think there's anything I can do now to save the lost data, but I want to understand what triggers a reinitialization, so I can prevent this from happening in the future.

I do know about filtered publications being more sensitive. My publication is not filtered so I don't worry about that. Regarding other triggers that force a re-init without upload...
1. Adding articles to existing merge publication: "After adding an article to a publication, you must create a new snapshot
for the publication ... (it does not reinitialize the entire publication)." ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms152493.aspx). This states that adding articles does not trigger a re-init, let alone one without upload first. Have
you experienced otherwise?
2. Editing primary keys: After editing keys, I get a warning about needing to create a new snapshot, but no warning about needing a re-init without upload. I would think such a warning should be flashing with a siren...users will lose
all data changes since the last synch. Is it really true that editing primary keys triggers a re-init without upload? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms152745.aspx (under Article Properties for Merge Replication) states that the only re-init
without upload has to do with filtered subscriptions.
Before our disaster where all users were re-initialized without upload, I did add tables, edit keys, and generate a new snapshot on the publication. Prior this thread, I see no documentation that such activities might trigger such a re-init without
upload. Could something else have triggered it? Knowing whether my users are about to lose all their data on their next synch is critical to say the least.
3. Is there a global setting that I could set that states that data should ALWAYS be uploaded before any reinitialization?
4. I'd love to run a query before each synch to determine if a user is about to be reinitialized without synching first. Can anyone help with this query?

Why did calendar download 100 mb of data over night?

First step is to make sure AT&T's numbers agree with your iPhone's numbers.
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Scroll down to Cellular Usage and select.
Add "Sent" and "Recieved" and compare the total to the carrier's numbers since the "Last Reset" date shown on the iPhone below the Sent/Received numbers.
My confidence in AT&T's measurement system is really poor after I discovered a massive discrepancy between their numbers, and my iPhone's numbers. By massive, I'm talking 1.5GB vs 100MB

Why did my camera shift without me changing the keyframe values?

I'm working in After Effects and I'm making sure to keyframe the positions of my camera through a null object. I was able to do this fine for about a minute and 30 seconds of the video. All of a sudden after I finish animating some text layers, my camera for literally everything before has shifted to the right. My camera for after the text layer I animated remained where it should be. Why did the camera change like that and how can I fix it without going through each keyframe and changing it?

Why are calendar subscriptions not up to date?

When I select Subscriptions from within iCal, the available options are dated 2010 and 2011, even in the Most recent list.
Why are more current calendars not available?
Also, I have downloaded the US Holiday calendar before. It updates the holidays every year except Easter. However, the site does not
offer a Christian holiday calendar except a link that is way out of date. What gives?

Why did i lose my apps and data after syncing to another new computer? i clicked transfer but only transfered part of the apps?

Okay basically i had 166 apps in my ipod...
After i bought new laptop and wanted to sync into it, it said to transfer apps from ipod touch to laptop, i did, but it only transferred part of it and said the remaining was not able to be transfered...
i had encountered this problem when i transfered the apps in my old pc to my old laptop, now that i wan to transfer apps from my old laptop to my new one, i thought i knew what to do..
i knew the problem was with the fact that the other apps was bought with another apple id thus not able to transfer as it is not yet authorised... while it was syncing, i authorised the older apple id that the apps was not synced yet... after i did, i realised i was left with the apps bought with my new apple id only...
then i realised i lost all my data on my older apps, like the privacy photo app which had memories of my photos stored in it.. tap tap 4 all my songs in it... and 70 other apps..
What happened? this did not happen in my previous attempt during my transfer of apps from old pc to old laptop... so why?
its really really sad... all my data was lost, i got back the apps though.. but data in it all LOST...
what to do? can i still retrieve it back?

- Try redownling the apps by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
The computer has to be authorized and signed into the account that originaly purchased them.
- When all the apps are ih the iTunes library, try restoring from backup if you have the backup that would contain all the app date. I would turn off autosyncing (go to iTunes>Prefernces>Device and check the box titled Prevent iPods...automatically" to prevent overwritting the previous backup.

How can I issue a warning if user exits without saving data first?

One of our clients has his users fill the LC Designer PDFs on their web site. They request that the users get a “Do you really want to exit?” warning, if they navigate away from the form, after having made changes to it. I was able to simulate the AcroScript “Dirty” state by comparing the xfa.data.saveXML with the original document content. My problem is that I can’t seem to be able to issue the warning in time for the user to do something about it. I tried to use the DocClose event, but (as described in the documentation) there is no way for the user to go back to the document.

First you need to make sure that you have setup the machine with a valid app store account to tie the machine to the server OS. To boot the MacMini so you can do RAID setup you must boot into recovery mode. Hold down Command+R and power up. Enter disk utility go through the steps to create the RAID which will erase everything on the HD. You need to make sure the build gets completed. Once done reboot into recovery mode again and you can do a OS install. If I remember correctly this will just install the base OS. Once you have setup the machine again with the valid app store account the server app will show up in the app store for you to download.
Of course if you don't want to rebuild everything you can hook up a USB harddrive and turn on time machine. Makle sure it completes and you have several restore points. Go through the RAID build process. Once complete boot into recovery mode, with the USB drive attached, and you will have an option to restore from a time machine backup.

Restricting upload file size (without uploading it first!!)

The following code works in restricting the filesize, however it takes proportionately more time to tell you for bigger files. So does that mean its uploading it temporarily, reading it, finding out its too big, then deleting it? That would be completely backwards. Is there any way to check the filesize quickly? Because if someone tries to upload a 10mb file it will take an hour to tell them its too big!!

You might try using Flex on the client. I have not tried this technique, but *perhaps* the Flex API allows more access to the file system than JavaScript. Note that the FileReference class used in Flex file samples has a "size" property that *might* give you the size of the file on the client.
Note that this approach depends on the client using Flash Player and executing client-side code.

iPad 2 cannot have siir. If you are usre its an iPad 2 then its either jailbroken or its a differnet App that can wpork like Siri.
If nopt you likely have an iPad 3. They are identical in terms of looks so its easy to get confused.
But yes the iPad 2 cannot support Siri in any way.

Why did the IOS7 Notes app use 2.7Gb of cellular data in the last 3 weeks?

I purchased a new Iphone5s on October 5. I have kept the OS updated so it is at 7.0.2. now (will go to 7.0.3 when the download completes successfully). The apps and configuration on my 5s were retored from a backup of the Iphone 3GS that it replaced.
However, I just received a notification from my phone provider that I had used all of my cellular data limit for the billing period. This is surprising since my normal usage for a month is a few hundred megabytes and the limit with my new phone was 3Gb shared.
Investigating the cellular data usage numbers showed that Apple's "Notes" app had used 2.7Gb of cellular data in the 3 weeks since I had purchased the phone. In this time I had created ONE new note. I never use the app. WHY did it use so much cellular data?

This is completely ridiculous. An app I don't even use, which is installed and maintained by APPLE, starts doing something that uses Gb of cellular data. Can anyone explain WHY this is happening? I have turned cellular data usage OFF for the Notes app to try to prevent future problems (and turned off cellular data usage entirely for the rest of the month to try to avoid additional charges)... however, I have no idea how to convince my provider that a buggy app provided by Apple in the new phone they sold me is responsible for the unexpectedly high data usage.

Thank you for the comments but I somehow think we are miscommunicating.
1) I have no problem backing up the phone locally (or to icloud if I wanted to)
2) I have no problem turning on or off cellular data usage for any app on the phone
3) I have no problem seeing what apps are enabled or how much cellular data they use
My problem is the following
APPLE's Notes app used 2.7 GIGABYTES of cellular data (before I disabled cellular data for this app) despite the fact I wasn't even using the app. I didn't change any setting for Notes, I didn't do anything with it except create one note on October 15. It would seem to me that this excessive usage is a bug or oversight in Apple's design of the app.
The purpose of this post is to warn others of the potential issue and to see if this issue has been observed by anyone else and if there are any actual fixes. Disabling cellular data for the app is a work-around ... but will the problem begin again if cellular data is re-enabled?
Your suggestion of erasing all content and settings and then restoring the phone from the backup sounds extreme but would it solve the specific problem of excessive cellular data usage and if so .. why?

Upload data into SAP through standard program

why don't we prefer to upload data into sap through standard program like RFBIKR00 to upload for vendor master or other standard programs to upload durectly without using BDC or LSMW and how do we upload data into SAP through BAPI.
pls help me with a sample program.

It totally depends upon the requierment which fields your want to update in transaction if it works with program then use program else go for bdc .
If there is some any screen enhancement with z fields then program will not solve the problem.

if you actually purchased the book and only received one chapter, then there should be a link in the email that iTunes sent you to dispute the purchase.

Why there are some metric without "Last Upload" in "All Metric" page?

I am developing a MYSQL Plugin. after I deployed it to agent, and add target to it. I found there is something strange for some metric collecting/uploading. And I test it on both OMS 10.2.0.4 and OMS 10.2.0.5, they have the same issue.
In page “All Metric”, not all of metrics have a value under column “Last Upload”. And if I click the metrics without “Last Uploaded”, some of them actually have data collected/uploaded and display it in UI. Then I am very confused why those metric had no "Last Upload" in All Metric page? Does it mean those three metric only collected/uploaded once? Does it mean there are something wrong with my XML? or what?

If the 'Last Upload' timestamp value shows "-", it means data for particular metric(s) never got uploaded from EM Agent. This can happen if:
- Metric collection is disabled
- Metric is defined as 'Real-Time metric'
- Metric is defined for scheduled collection, however, due to some parsing error, EM Agent

By clicking on the metric link (on 'All Metrics' page), you are performing a real-time collection - i.e., Agent is informed to collect the data and provide it to the caller APIs so that the data can be displayed on UI. Such a data displayed is not from EM Repository. Hope this addresses your confusion with - "...why those metric had no "Last Upload" in All Metric page...". If you want to see the history data, you need to expand the particular metric and click on the sub-links (which are the non-kyy metric-columns that you would have defined in the target-type metadata xml file)
Since you mentioned that when you are doing a real-time collection (by clicking on the metric link on 'All Metrics' page), you are retrieving data, I don't think there should be anything wrong in the metadata xml file. Yes, it can happen that EM Agent didn't find an entry in default-collection OR there was parsing issue for the entry in default-collection, which may cause the metric to be assumed as 'real-time' by EM Agent. However, looking at the example that you specified, don't think that should be the case.
Can you check
1. the 'Collection Schedule' and 'Upload Interval' mentioned for these metrics on 'All Metrics' page ? Is this
same as what you specified in the default-collection xml file ?
2. Are there any errors reported in emagent.trc / emagent.log for metric "ProcessList_Count" ?

Why did Adobe see fit to eliminate, "Print Without Color Mangement", and when are they going to restore it? None of their workarounds is really adequate when printing through a rip. Prior to CS5 it was all so simple. Now, I keep CS4 onboard just for printing. Is there actually a good rationale for the elimination of such a useful function?

Adobe was forced to remove the NCA mode because the current OS X Mac print pipeline and print drivers quit supporting it. Photoshop CS5 & 6 and LR 3 & 4 can't send unmanaged data to the Mac pipeline; it'es either application managed color or printer managed color and iehter case, the data gets modified by the pipeline–which means the current apps can't send data with NCM.
The printer utility can do a workaround to do so.
Note, this isn't yet an issue on Windows but for cross platform uniformity, it was removed there as well. So, if you want to yell at somebody, go yell at Apple...
And no, it ain't coming back...
