Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action that you're having trouble with again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

My problem with Notes is the following. I'll explain it through an example because I think that's the easiest way to make it clear.
Well, I open Notes and start to write down a new note; suppose I type "Ask Sarah about course book" then I notice I made a mistake: it's not Sarah, it's Loren, so I edit my previous note to have "Ask Loren about course book", but at the end my result is not having only one note, I have two! One with "Sarah" and another with "Loren"! Now, if you think about this in a more general way, you can understand what happens on my Notes: I've not actually found a rule Notes follows to create these new different notes. I only know that whenever I write down a note I end up with a huge number of them, which are nothing else than the previous version of the same note.
Anyone has ever heard of this bug?

When you use IMAP, as opposed to "On my Mac," Notes will create a folder called "Notes" on the mail server. It will then store notes in there. If you create subfolders in Notes (which you can do), those will be stored as subfolders of Notes on the server.
So in the case of Gmail, you should be able to log onto your Gmail web account and the notes should probably show up in "All my Mail" with a label of Notes (this is because Gmail's IMAP implementation is VERY nonstandard and it doesn't actually support folders; it uses labels instead). If you view the Notes label in Gmail's web interface you should see all your notes.
Because of Gmail's IMAP implementation you should be very careful not to remove the "Notes" label from any of your notes if you're in the web interface, or they will disappear from the Notes app on OS X itself.

Why does my firefox 6.0.1 go not responding every time I open a second tab? I need to have more than 1 tabs open for what I'm doing.

Details: I open browser to go to page. From there I open second page which I've always been able to do and it won't load. It says no responding and sits there forever deciding what to do. Then it will finally say something about stop running script, which I just let it run or x it out. Either way, it shuts down or it might load or just sit there. I've always loved firefox but I'm it's upsetting me as I can't do things on my computer now I need to do.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

There's a good bit of wisdom in the old expression, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." You could cut the number of updates by at least 50% if you'd only fix things that ARE "broke," And, every time you update FF, it causes another set of problems that I have to fix. The latest is an add-on called "offer mosquito" that's automatically added to my list of add-ons. I remove it --not disable, REMOVE-- the next time I reboot it's back. I'm growing just a wee tad weary of doing this...How do I get rid of it for good???

hello Goodolgal, the behaviour you've described is not caused by any firefox update but by adware/malware on your pc. please run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Why does TS ask to save 'NI_Database_Types.ini' every time I quite TS?

Ever since I installed TestStand 3.5 I have been getting this. Every time I quit the TestStand application, i get a popup box that says
'The following files are modified. Check the files you wish to save before exiting. You will lose any modifications to unchecked files.' and it always lists NI_DatabaseTypes.ini as a changed file.
I don't use databases.
I don't have them enabled. I have checked 'Disable Database Logging' and all of the tabs in the Database OPtions pane are greyed out.
All I have to do to duplicate this is to start up teststand and then quit teststand. I don't even need to load a sequence file.
What can I do to stop this annoying message?
(Why can't you guys introduce a new version without introducing new errors? )

Connect your iPad to iTunes on your Mac/PC and then go to your iPad's summary window. Then click back up if you want to back up your iPad first. After that click restore. Later it will ask you if you want to setup the iPad as a new iPad. Select the option to setup your iPad with your latest back up.

Why does iTunes match delete everything off my iPad memory every time I connect to pc?

iTunes recently deleted all my music off my iPad so it was only available to stream, which is no use to me. I've just connected to my pc again and gone, just like that every song has that horrible little cloud next to it. I spent a full day last weekend downloading everything to the iPad memory, looks like I'll be doing it again tomorrow.

From what I understand the first time you connect your iPad it should wipe out all cloud based music but after that as you stream music ( which is not real streaming but download and play) it should then keep the music in case you want to replay it and only delete it to make room for any more music you download subsequently.
If that isn't happening then it's probably a bug!

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...
