Why does my phone all of the sudden keep saying "searching"?

I have a new 4s. Got it on Oct 14th and have had zero problems. Well all of the sudden it constantly says "searching" and will then say AT&T then freeze for a second then go back to "searching." I have an AT&T MicroCell which has given me no problems. I disconnected that and the same thing happens, so I know its no my MicroCell. I reset the network settings to no avail. I'm gonna see if this goes away by tomorrow morning, if not then I'm gonna restore the phone via iTunes. Anyone experience this? I doubt my phone is defective. Could this be an iOS 5 bug?

Turning your Sim Pin off may help, although this step + a Back Up/Restore may be required.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone 5.
Follow the steps below if the iPhone is not powering on:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Like you mentioned, she bought it from the Vodafone store and most likely the phone is locked to Vodafone. But, in your case since you are using the same carrier's SIM card (Vodafone), "unlocking the phone" is not an issue. Aside from that "phone unlocking" is ONLY done by the carrier and Vodafone NZ doesn't offer unlocking. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937)
As you have already tried restoring the phone (which technically wasn't required) and SIM change, your best option is to take the phone to Vodafone store and ask them to activate it for you.

My spotify stopped working all of the sudden. I was a premium member and yesterday, the app kicked me out of my music and said that I had the free account so now I can only listen to shuffle. Have you tried to reboot your iPad? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try agian.
Also, try power cycling your router. Meaning, unplug it, count to 10, then plug it back in. Let it reboot and see if that helps.

Why does my phone give me the Roaming message when I try to make calls when I'm not roaming??

All of a sudden recently when ever I try to make phone calls I get the message saying that I am being transferred to an external operator to use a calling card, credit card, or collect call to complete my call and that the reason is that my phone is roaming. This is a complete lie.
Verizon made an update on 10/4 and has been having issues with their prepaid activation which is still happening. They do not have any update and there is no resolution to this. If you look at other postings on here they have not responded to any other prepaid customer issues.
You will not be able to use your phone till Verizon resolves this issue.

It means it's not seeing a mobile signal - what kind of phone do you have? If there's a SIM card, try removing it, shut the phone off, reinsert the card and then restart the phone. If you have no SIM card,, then dial *228, option 1, and let the phone reset.
If you still have no signal, it may be your location, or other factors. Try these and report back if it's fixed or not, and if not, we can investigate more.

Netflix support says I have to contact you, since my browser might be corrupted? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, same problem. I just get this same page, listing the system requirements, all of which I meet. I have Windows XP 64 service pack 2, and use Firefox 11. I tried to check my plug-ins, and tried to update Silverlight, but again got a message that I didn't meet system requirements. Very frustrating!!

Why is my phone all of a sudden rebooting?

I woke up this morning and when I was using my phon, it randimly rebooted and when I press my lock button it takes forever for the screen to come up. Also when I just opened my photos it said restoring And most of my photos had been deleted. My phone is not jailbroken but I barely have any storage left (Under 1 GB)
i can't afford to buy a new phone and all my iCloud storage is used up sadly. Does anybody know a solution to this problem without me having to restore my phone?

Why Does My Email all of a sudden Hang up for 1-2 minutes?

Just recently, my email hangs up (the spinning color wheel) for one to two minutes whenever I move around to different mailboxes (inbox, sent, etc.). It really never happened before but it does now. I have a CPU activity monitor and whenever this happens, mail accounts for 100% of my cpu activity. Something is going on. When I view "force quit" it looks like mail is NOT Responding but if I wait, it sorts itself out and everything works until it happens again. I went through repair disk permissions, check disk, and tech tool deluxe but it still happens.
Any one have suggestions as to why this happened? I have rebooted several times just to be sure something hadn't created the problem.
