Why doesn't my javascript site work in Safari? (works on PC/IE)

Can I find a site that details the problems that Safari has in correctly parsing javascript and/or rendering HTML generated by that javascript?
My site has some frames, some document.write()'s, some simple on-the-fly pages with nothing fancy, some pictures, some links, totally not rocket science. It works great on PC/IE but none of the Mac browsers (incl. IE5 and FireFox and especially Safari) will handle it. They kinda sorta run SOME of my script, but they have lots of errors and the site just "doesn't work right" anywhere but in IE on Windows. I didn't use any code that's Windows-specific, either.
I am seriously not going to do a browser detection and write multiple sets of codes for the various browsers (God, how many are there? over a hundred according to w3.org) ... it just ain't gonna happen, so spare me that lecture cuz I've been there before and I ain't going back.
Am I screwed? or does somebody out there actually know how to handle this. Woe to us all, from the lack of standards on the web! How do we put up with it?

Wish I could help you but creating java code is not one of my strengths. I do create the pages on my web site though (using GoLive CS). I'm amazed how differently each browser renders the page. I came across this site via a Google search. It may be germane to your question?
You may have better success though posting your question on the MacFixit Internet forum.

After downloading, you need to run the installer.
Could you please visit this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If Flash Player is installed in your machine, it will give you the version number.

Hi can you please give us some more information about what you mean.
Can you start the application? Can you edit photos with it?
Does the application crash a lot while editing?
Have you tried to restart the device? How many applications do you have running in the background?

Why doesn't my ipod playlist's chapters not work?

On my iPod touch 1st Gen, I can play Movie chapters from my playlist section. On my iPad 2 I can play my movie chapters also. But from my iPod playlist the chapters doesn't work. The work around is playlist then chapters the go back to movies then chapters again. Why doesn't the playlist chapters work?

Did you try to reset the device by holding the sleep an d home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
You will not lose data doing a reset.

Why doesn't the new flash player I downloaded work? Tried it several times. Firefox 6.0.2.

Every time I've tried to watch a youtube video in the past week it asks me to update my adobe flash player. I've tried at least 5 times over the course of several days and now I'm convinced that it isn't me. Apparently, you can't get tech support from adobe without spending money and if you ask me that sounds like a scam.
Every time I download it I've followed the instructions perfectly. I'm using Firefox 6.0.2. After downloading it and closing my browser like it asks, I click "retry" then "finish" and it opens up a new firefox window that says I'm running the new adobe flash player. I'll try to watch a video and it doesn't work. It seems like a frivolous thing to spend this much time fixing but I want to watch the OU/FSU game online next week and I'm afraid this issue won't be sorted out in time

I was having the same issue with installing Flash player 10.3.183.10 in both Firefox 6.0.2 and Explorer 9 -- the Task Manager would show the installer running as a process, but it would never actually install anything. It would just sit there until I killed it or rebooted.
It seems that there are multiple versions of the separate installers needed. The installer that worked for me in Firefox was
install_flash_player_10.exe -- a 3,017KB file
and for Explorer, it was:
install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe -- a 3,054KB file.
Neither of those files was sent by the main updater page, nor did that page offer the 239KB uninstall_flash_player.exe, which is needed to uninstall the previous Flash version before one can even begin to try to update it. I had to pound through the messages in the forums to find links to those "full" installers.
It is working now in both browsers, but jeepers creepers, it shouldn't take all day to find the installers for something that gets updated as often as Flash does.

Why doesn't the iTunes Apple ID and password work for iCloud on the iPhone 3GS?

I even logged into this Apple Support Community using my Apple ID and password with no problem. It also works in iTunes. But it still doesn't work for iCloud on my iPhone 3GS. It keeps saying "Unsupported Apple ID - iCloud requires an Apple ID that is an email address (including @me.com addresses)" I even put my email address associated with my Apple account and I still get the same message. I also checked to make sure the OS software was up to date.
What's going on and why is this so difficult to accomplish??!!

Same problem. I enter my password correctly, and I can't get in. but I can get into Apple Support and other login pages with the same (correct) password. Arg!

Why doesn't Preview shortcut for 'Go to page' work

In Preview, the keyboard shortcut key for "Go to page" is supposed to be Option-Command-g.
This is not working for me in Preview 7.0 under OS X 10.9.5.
How fix?

I looked in the Keyboard Shortcuts pane of System Preferences and did not find any listing of Option+Command+G, not even under the apps category.
The menu item does work. But it's an inconvenience to have to mouse up there to the Go menu and then select the Go to Page item from the drop-down list. Which is why I wanted to use the shortcut.

Why doesn't the Quicktime site have an easy way to report broken links?

Perhaps Apple thinks this site is perfect?
The link to 'The heart is deceitful above all things' has been down for DAYS -- surely something the producers of that movie would not be happy about??
There's no simple way (that I can see) to report such a broken link - just for the heck of it I spent 20 minutes looking for a way to report this minor glitch, and there doesn't seem to be one (or I'm missing the obvious).
Maybe someone who can do something will read this!

...but where is the "link to the link" on the Quicktime site.... if I didn't know where to look for this, how would I find out about it, or realize that this is the way to report a simple broken link?

I'm just frustrated that the site doesn't have a simple way to report this (I've seen similar broken links before on the Movie site, and they often persist for days). If you hadn't helped me out I don't think I would have figured out how to do this!

Why doesn't the FedEx Tracking number data detector work in Mail anymore?

I'm running OS X 10.8.3 and Mail 6.3 (1503). I had an email come in that had a FedEx Tracking Number. The data detector picked it up and I was able to right-click and select "Track My Package". Unfortunately there was a "Communication Error" in the pop-up window so it failed. When I clicked 'Open in Safari" it worked! Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes, I can confirm it no longer works. My guess is that FedEx changed their site in some way that broke the lookup from within Mail. You do indeed have to open up Safari (or some other web browser) to track a package now.

Why doesn't Adobe Flash 10.1.102.64 work with my Mac G5?

I have tried the online help suggestions to uninstall the previous version of flash player, restart the computer, download the 10.1.102.64, install it, restart the computer then run the disk utility to verify permissions. Still doesn't work for facebook and youtube. I am using Safari on a Mac OSX 10.4.11. What am I doing wrong?

Well for me it doesn't.
This is my 3rd time downloading it, it'll eventually stop working again like it did the first two times and I'm going to have to reinstall it again.

I see the moving red dot, but in step two, everything in red is blurry/faded.
Shows which version I have, but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I have the latest version.
Also every website that I visit that supports flash tells me to update to the newest version, which I ALREADY HAVE.

Why doesn't the new ipad apps system not work?

When I saw the new system of updating apps in ios 7.0.3 I was delighted but unfortunately it doesn't work I left at least six apps to not update but unfortunately they all updated on their own last night. So what is the point of a manual update when Apple overrides it? Now I have to delete and reinstall. We need a way of removing apps from the update list before Apple overrides it.

If you delete the apps and reinstall them directly from the App Store, you will be installing the updated apps that you just deleted.
If you delete the apps on the iPad and still have the older versions in iTunes on your computer - you can sync them back to the iPad and that will work to retrieve the older versions.
When you delete apps, you delete the data and documents associated with those apps.
Settings>iTunes & App stores>Automatic downloads>Updates>Off. Is that how you have this set up in your settings. I set my iPad this way from day one and no apps have ever been updated without me initiating the update.

Why doesn't the Canadian site get movie options?

why can't we get movies in Canada. apple is only provoking society to download movies illegally so they can use their videos to get their money's worth. We need movie's on the Canadian site.

As has been said here many times already, the movie studios (so far only Disney even in the US) have not licensed Apple to sell movies outside of the US. There's nothing Apple can do unless and until they're granted the rights. When, or indeed if, this will happen, no one can say, though Apple has said that they hope to be able to offer movies internationally sometime in 2007.
