Why doesnt anyone frm Adobe reply re: my completed Distribution License Agreement

To whom it may concern, This is the second Adobe Flash Player Distribution License Agreement I filled out, and in both cases no one has contacted me. Am I supposed to do more than complete the form to get access to the msi's for flash player and reader?

Let me see if I can find out how/who processes these. Can you send email to [email protected] with the name and email address you used to fill out the form?

Adobe X1 problem with non appearing license agreement

Help, am in UK, can't be specific as not too computer literate but I got a new IMac and downloaded latest free versions of Adobe Reader X1 and Flash Player X1 as one does, successfully I believe to all intents and purposes. Anyway when doing some work on new Government software site it crashed when I tried to print and said something like Access to Adobe browser denied as I hadn't agreed license agreement or something like that. I've always downloaded latest versions previously onto my old Macbook and never had this message come up, and when downloading onto the IMac and Macbook I'm sure Acrobat loader wouldn't ever let me do this unless I didn't agree to all the terms and conditions. Does anyone have a clue about this. Sorry can't be more specific as the lady in Apple where I went to try and sort it first of all just pressed OK to the warning and we proceeded regardless before failing again, but I'm sure this is at the root of the continuing file problem. Am I correct in my thinking and how can I agree to something I can't get at now, if it ever existed in the first place?

You need to open Adobe Reader once by itself (not in a web browser), then accept the license agreement.

Non helpful screen announcement - "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept end user license agreement then quit and relaunch browser."

I recently updated my Mac operating system and now regularly get the above message whenever I click on website pdf(s). I have tried to relaunch Adobe Reader - but nothing remotely resembling an end user license agreement ever shows up. I can find nothing on the Adobe "help" sections that mentions anything about this problem. Any suggestions?

Tried this any number of times. I double click on the icon and nothing comes up - there is no lead, no directions, nothing comes up. I click on page top menu bar and can access legal notice page - but no end user agreement page shows up. Do I have to delete all Adobe Reader software and start over with a fresh download?

Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).

Why doesnt Palm stand behind their equipment?

I upgraded my phone through Sprint to a Palm Pixi. It was the first 'Smart Phone' I ever had. About two weeks after I got my Pixi the rubber that surrounds the back started to peel away starting where you plug it in to recharge it, about two inches up. I took my phone back to the Sprint store, and they told me I could not get a different phone, they had to change it out with a refurbished one. Two weeks later they finally called me back saying to come swap my phone out. When I got there the replacement phone was peeled all the way around the side and around the top! They told me they would re-order. I asked how long it would take, they said three days. I called back four days later and they told me the item was backordered but they would order another one and I would have it in just another couple of days. At this point I was mad and called Sprint customer service. They checked and said that store didnt have a replacement order in for my phone. They called the store and waited while the store put in the order. Four days later I got a call and went back up to have my phone replaced. While the phone looked to be in great condition, when I got it home and tried to call out on it, I found you cannot hear the person on the other end unless the phone is on SPEAKER. I called Palm at this point, and all they can do is the same thing Sprint has done...send me another REFURBISHED phone. I dont want another phone that someone else has broken and sent back to be fixed. I want a phone that is going to work right. Its like buying a used car, I dont want someone elses problem. Why doesnt anyone stand behind their products any more?

First of all if this device failed within 2 weeks you should have been provided with a new replacement device. As you have described the problem it sounds like all you needed was a replacement back cover. This could have been sent to you directly from Palm at no cost. Once you pass the 30 day mark then all replacement are refurbished devices.
I apologize that you received a such a run-around, this should have been handled better. At this point Palm would have to replace the device with a refurbished unit as an advanced exchange. Sprint would also have to replace the device with a refurbished unit. It is too bad you were not sent a back cover for your original Pixi device, as this would have been a quit fix.

Why doesnt Adobe just UPDATE Flash Professional? Arent they reinventing the wheel?

Congratulations on getting to open beta with Flash Catalyst!
I know its late in the game to mention something like this but why didnt Abobe just update Flash Professional?
It seems that the arguments for flash Catalyst center around the following:
1) smooth workflow between Photoshop & Illustrator, especially because of the same layer view
2) No coding required to create components out of artwork
3) Can create FXG and FXPs to be used in Flash Builder
4) Can create multi screen aplications
1) 2) and 3) could all be solved by adding a new types of symbols to Flash Professional's 3 currently available symbols(MovieClip, Button, Graphic)
1) could be solved by adding a new Sprite symbol.
Flash Professional needs to be updated to keep up with and match the structure of AS3 anyway.
Sprites were added in AS3 and now wireframe components are being added to the code structure, why not just at that on the design side as well?
Sprites are essentially MovieClips with out a timeline.
So if you created a new Sprite symbol and opened it up in the timeline, you would only see one frame with folders and layers.
A Sprite symbol is essentially organized the in layers and folders and would just like a photoshop file.
And if you really want it to look like a Photoshop layout, then you just move the timeline view over to the right.
This would solve problem 1. Designers could import their artwork into Flash Professional as a Sprite and it would be a seemless experience.
Obviously I'm not saying that a bitmap is a sprite. But I am saying that layers of bitmaps and could be organized inside of a Sprite. And the designer could turn any of the assets into a Button, MovieClip, Graphic, Sprite, and hopefully other Classes and WireframeComponents available in Flash.
2)&3) could be solved by adding a new Symbols for the new Wireframe Components. The Button symbol already has a template with 4 states. Why not update Flash Professional to visually represent more Classes and Component Classes, instead of just the MovieClip Class and the Button Class. Even better, maybe there could be a way to make a template for creating our own wireframe components. Just assign a base class for the wireframe class and a base template, and the introspection view will display accordingly.
States of the component would be listed out at the top instead of frames, just like the Button Symbol used to be. Different layers could be designated for specific graphical parts of the component. The designer would be free to add their own layers if necessary.
In previous versions of Flash, everything was a movieclip and everthing had a timeline. Thats not the case anymore. The timeline is for intropecting MovieClips, but this view could be different when intropsecting different types of symbols such as Sprites, Buttons, Wireframe Components, and even Custom Wireframe Components(extensible).
These new Symbols and also Sprites could export to FXG very easily.
The multi screen applications in 4) look pretty similar to the Slide Presentation Template. Why not just make a new MultiScreen App Template and youre done. these MultiScreenApp Templates could exporte Screens to FXG or export the whole Template to a FXP.
I applaud the work done on the new wireframe components and FXG. Great Job!
But, just cant understand why you cant update Flash Professional with new types of Symbols(Sprites, new Buttons and wireframe Component Classes) and a new MultiScreen App Template.
Flash Professional needs to keep up with AS3 and also needs to export FXG and FXP.
Why doesnt Adobe focus on on this rather than create a new Tool? These features need to be added to Flash Professional anyway.
Isnt there more of a disadvantage to having 2 tools for designers that do the same thing?

I'm glad we agree that ideally there should be 2 main tools, one for designers(Flash Professional) and one for programming(Flash Builder).
You had mentioned "But, that assumes this is possible. As it currently stands it is not" and the reason being "Catalyst, and Builder both use a completely different framework from Professional. The component architecture is drastically different, not to mention the entire backend of the software.".
You could also argue that, the reasons to make a separate flex component creation tool like Flash Catalyst assumes that updating Flash Professional CS4 is NOT possible. But is the statement about the framework being entirely different really true?
Well, that depends on what you mean by the term "framework".
Framework can refer to 3 things in this case.
1) the component framework
2) the code framework(AS3)
3) the flex framework (mxml, fxg)
If you are refering to #1 then you're right, because Adobe hasnt updated the flash component framework in Flash Professional from Flex3 Halo components to Flex4 Spark components.
Flash components have gone through many iterations, and the switch from AS2 to AS3 was probably more profound than the new wireless component structure(Spark). And now that we have AS3, isnt the only difficulty creating a intuitive UI in Flash Professional, and adding export features?
If you are refering to #2 then I think you're incorrect, because Flash Professional has been updated to AS3 and Flex4 Spark components use AS3. I would totally agree with you, if CS4 did not go through all of the trouble updating to AS3.
If you are refering to #3 then you're right, because Flash Professional doesnt export mxml, fxg, or fxp, but with a little creativity, it would probably be possible to allow such an export. Adding FXG/FXP export features could be solved by creating a new type of project file. Adobe did this for AS2, AS3, flash lite, etc. Why cant they just make a new AS3/FXG file that only allows you to build fxg/fxp exportable assets.
Why cant Adobe make a Sprite class the default document class for AS3/FXG projects and when some adds a movie clip asset, export movie clips as swfs or swcs?
So to be honest, after opening up Flash Catalyst again and looking at it again, I almost get the feeling that its just a Flash Component creation tool with a Photoshop UI, for the new AS3/Flex 4 components(Spark components) that Adobe just refuses to add to CS4. CS4 uses AS3 and Spark components use AS3. CS4 needs to be a visual design tool for all the classes in AS3(as much as possible).
Perhaps Adobe originally meant to name this product...

In regard to "reinventing the wheel". Flash components have been reinvented several times, and I totally agree with you that this is important to "reinvent" components to keep up with new techiques as2,as3,fxg. You are right, this is a positive thing. However in this case, I am using "reinvent in a negative sense.
So maybe I shouldnt say "reinvent the wheel", but "reinvent the car".
Perhaps Adobe is trying to create a wheel for the upperclass RIA programmer Flex car, and isnt making it compatible common designer/programmer Flash car. And when they finished the wheel, and they decided just to make a Segway for the Designers and Flash people to ride, that uses this new wheel.
You might argue that its more approachable for designers, and designers feel at home because the ui is similar. This is precisely why Adobe should hurry up and finish updating the ui of the Flash Professional IDE so that its ui is more compatable with Photoshop and Illustrator. The fact that Photoshop and Illustrator is the standard for designers are perhaps one of Adobe's greatest advantages. They could make the designers happy if they just make a Sprite inspector view with layers like photoshop in Flash Professional, instead of using the old "everything
is a movieclip" paridgim. Flash Professional has already upgraded to AS3 and in AS3 everything isnt a movieclip. So it would be nice if they could make views for some of the new classes and wireframe components.
This is the age old debate, update or start from scratch. I guess I'm saying that I think the hard work of updating to AS3 has already been done, and its just plain wierd that Adobe decides to build a separte tool for components, when they use the same AS3 code base.
Its just insanely exciting to just think about what could have been if Flash updated and brought on more Designers and at the same time linked in the Flex community. Thats what Flash has always been about! The meeting point between Designers and Programmers.
To go this far and quit just because of components just leaves me blue.
It seems that many projects stop at 80% complete and if the developers just spent the extra 20% on fine tuning things then they would have a very high quality product. In this case the remaining 20% is components, ui, and export. I understand that there are probably many things I dont understand, especially when you through in marketing, and product life cycle.
But I think Adobe could have done it, if they put as much effort into it as they did to make an entirely new product.
Maybe we should make some noise before its too late.
I'm still interested in seeing more links that show the logic behind the initial discussions of this debate when it was first decided.

Yes, youre right. it does seem to be their plan. I just hope they are just testing the waters. Perhaps after they do the initial selling of Flash Compenents, then maybe they could offer a free update to CS4.
As I mentioned above, the main reason designers feel at home is because of the UI of Flash Catalyst. UI's can be updated, and I believe Flash Professional can and should update itsui for the reasons I mentioned above.

I can't speak to the business decisions that lead to which countries we enable purchasing subscriptions in the store, but I can guarantee you that it is not to impede anyones development.
A credit card with an address in any of the supported countries can be used for purchasing the subscription, this has enabled many to get around the issue, but that is the only way to subscribe.

Youll find search results such as Nuked berry, brick berry or dumb phone.
Blackberry technical support, had difficulty in handling an enquiry attempting to pass of the enquiry/complaint to the carrier who are not responsible for the incompetance of Blackberry, who call there faulty devices mobile/cell phones.
There simply not up to the standard of the rest of the world.

BB(Blackberry)'s Desktop Software, is not help, being unable to connect with my device, even though it detects it & erases files, & attempts to connect with the device, even though my computer immediately detects my device as soon as I plug it into the USB port.

Your report is a little difficult to clearly understand...hence difficult to provide you with useful guidance. So, the simplest thing I can recommend is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:

It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
You may also need the use of these tricks:

If you look at the other tread about transform Again and smart Object layers you will find I found there seems to be two flavors of Transform and some bazar behaviors when it come to smart object layers. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4611500#4611500
However for this problem here I think I can not show you how to do it.
First target the smart filters Mask. In fact so you can see what is happening Alt+Click on it so Photoshop displays the mask rather then the the composit image. Then use Ctrl+T free transform then just for a test hold down the Ctrl and the Alt keys and drag in a cornor to constrain and srink the Mask thee release the keys and press enter to commit the transform.
Next target the smart object layer then use the short cut Ctrl+Shift+T (Transform Again) on a PC the smart object layer will be transformed to match the filter mask transform.

Want to buy CS6. Downloaded trial version but having issues with windows 7 home edition. Posted on Adobe Help Forums....no replies. Called Customer Service....was promised a call back; never received one. Considering moving to another product from an Adobe competitor. Anyone from Adobe reading these posts? Anyone from Adobe really care? Sad!

Hi and thanks for your comprehensive reply. I will try to answer all your questions. Just to back up a bit, I have tried many different things to get Audition 3.01 to work on my laptop. When I exhausetd all i could think of , I downloaded CS6 hoping that would give me better results. In the end, the two applications behaved exactly the same, ie inability to record in multi-track. Most of the tests I did, which I describe here were done on AA3.01. If they did not resolve the problem there, I am doubtful they are the cause of CS6 not working.
I have not tried playback only when selecting the TASCAM i/face. However, I can indeed select either the internal sound card on the laptop or the TASCAM in the HW Preferences. If I use the internal card, everything works except I cannot do multi-track recording of course. However, I can import a session and do everything with it. As for clock, I have tried toggling it between AUTOMATIC and INTERNAL in the TASCAM control panel, no difference (on AA3.01).I don't know if there is another place where this is controlled other than the TASCAM control panel. As for "device class" indeed I could only get CS6 to show the 16 channels of my TASCAM if I select ASIO. I did not check the "release ASIO in the background" box
In summary
1. AA3.01 Works well with an old PC runing windows XP 32 bit
2. AA3.01 installs and runs on a HP Pavillion laptop, i3 processor 8 Gig RAM, windows 7 HOME EDITION 64bit. If using the internal sound card, I could use AA3.01 for everything except multi-track recording
3. On the HP laptop, I can switch between internal card and TASCAM in HW preferences. I can arm one or up to 14 channels for recording. As soon as I hit record, about 1 sec of lead is highlighted in the tracks that are armed, but then everything stops. No crashing, no errors. If I delete the tracks I can continue working on other things.
4. After exhausting everything I could, I installed Audition CS6 on the same HP laptop. Exactly the same issues with recording appear.
5. I installed Audition CS6 on another laptop, a IBM Lenovo, i5 4Gig RAM windows 64 bit Professional. Absolutely no issues and everything works fine. Problem is, the Lenovo is a work laptop otherwise I would just use that and forget the rest
I will check about the playback when I get back from the office. However if memory serves me right, I believe I was able to use EDIT mode and still playback WAV files. Will confirm that later tonight
