Why dont i get notification of invalid email addresses returned to me?

When sending as many as100 emails out, some will have an invalid address (bad spelling, .com instead of .net, etc.).
I used to get a returned message containing "MAILER_DAEMON" showing the invalid email address. In one case I sent an email to myself and added two emails with invalid address. I only received my email. I do use message filters routing to many folders, and in checking all folders I didn't find any of the invalid emails or the MAILER-DEAMON message.

Typically the error is generated by the recipients SMTP server or a SMTP server in between, but not Thunderbird.

telliot, your reply is a bit cryptic, but I finally understood what you meant. What he/she meant, folks, is to keep on typing what you know to be your valid email address. When you enter ".com" (or whatever extension) the error signal will disappear

MMy son and I share an email for our iPhone 5c when he txt me I someti get 2 one from my email address and one from my number but not from his. People have told me when I send a message it sometimes shows up as my email also and ask me who I am cause they dnt have it in their contacts. Why is this happening. Look at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive From ...On his iPhone click on your email address so that the check mark goes away. Do the same on your iPhone to uncheck his email. You apparently also share an Apple ID.

Apps bought bought from that old Apple ID are forever tied to that Apple ID. So you need to login into that account to update that app.

Not getting notifications for push emails

I have an iPhone 5s with IOS 7.1.2 installed. I have a mail account set up pointing to my company's Exchange server. I will frequently not get notifications of new email until I open the email app on my phone. I won't get them when the email actually arrives in my mailbox (which is the purpose of push technology). Any ideas why I'm not getting these notifications? I have alerts turned on (banner, badge app icon, show in notification center, show preview), so ideally, I believe I have everything I need turned on. The account is also configured as 'Push' in the 'Fetch New Data' section of the menu.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there is an issue with your iPhone receiving push notifications from your companies Exchange server. The article linked below has a lot of great information and suggestions which will resolve most issues like the one you described.

Why am I getting the flag 'Invalid URL for web content overlay" when making scrolling panel in Indesign? Iam making additions to existing articles but the problem is new. The articles were originally made using CS and now I am on CC, which I have just uninstalled and re installed, no difference, can anyone help please? Steve

Hi Bob, thankyou very much for coming back on this. The flag is coming up towards the end of the preview process on desk top. I have made dozens if not hundreds on my two published apps on the app store, but have not done an update for nearly a year, in which time I have needed a refresher, and as usual went to Lynda. In this case I have followed to the letter your DPS course, which is great, and I found the process of making the scrolling panels somewhat easier than when I started 2-3years ago. Initially I was mystified that the flag talked about url and web content, but just put it down to something I had missed in recent improvements in CC.
I tried over and over, but always got the same result. I thought at one point it might be because the content of my slide was copy and photo, so for a test I deleted the photo. Same result, and many of my existing slides are copy and picture.
I also uninstalled Indesign CC and reinstalled in case of corrupted content, I also copied to IDML and relaunch, same problem. I am sure I have made the scrolling content as instructed, The one thing I havn't done is trash my preferences, if you think that would be a good Idea could you please direct me to some content at Lynda on how to do it in CC. If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up. Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID. If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

Leave Mail running, but close its window (click red dot or ⌘W).
Right-click the Mail icon and use "Options" to enable "Open at Login". In the "Login Items" tab of "Users & Groups" system preference, check the "Hide" box next to Mail so it doesn't open a window when starting.

Sub account login, get message says invalid email

My son has been trying to log in to check his email, and each time he does it says his log in is invalid. (invalid email address) He is listed as an active sub-account in my accoubnt, so how could this be?

Make use he is trying to log in with username and not the full email address. If you cant cant get in or reset password online, the you will need to call tech support.

Write the whole email address and wait for a second to validate it.
The validator tells you that you have entered the wrong email until you finish typing a valid one. Developers are working to fix it.

Can't get rid of old email address

Since purchasing my iPad, I changed internet carriers and changed my email address. If I go to iTunes & App Store in Settings on my iPad, it still says my Apple ID is the now invalid email address. Can't get pass that point. Wants me to put in a Password for that ID that no longer exists.
Created a new Apple account to no avail.

The last thing that you want to do is to create a new Apple ID since purchases are always tied to the Apple ID that was used to make the purchases. You want to change the old Apple ID email address to the new one.
Did you follow these instructions to change your Apple ID?

If you followed those instructions and all went as it should, you can sign out of your old ID in settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. Then sign in with the new ID. You should also take a look at this.

How to get rid of old email address

Using Mail on iPad, if I try to address an email to myself, it pops up with two pre-fill options....one of them being my old and no longer useable email address. I tried finding the back up files for my iPad to see if I could locate the invalid email address and delete it. The old address is NOT in my address book nor is it still in settings for email accounts. Any suggestions to help with this annoyance will be greatly appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge you can't delete/remove them without restoring the iPad back to factory settings (which is somewhat extreme) - I havn't yet found a way and I've seen a few other posts asking the same thing. Cannot catch invalid email addresses

I have been using this very normal email sending routine but for some reason even if the email address is invalid (ex abc), the Transport.send() method does not throw any exception and continues.
Does anyone know why this should happen??

The control never reaches any of the exception blocks even though p has some invalid email addresses.

I believe I have answered this question quite a few times in this forum.
There is no standard way to know if the e-mail id exists or not, SMTP standards does not mandate the server implementors to notify this.
There are several things that can happen:
a. The server implements the VRFY command -- Then you know immediately if the account is active.
b. The server does not implement the VRFY command, but if the acount does not exist tells you when you send the RCPT command.
c. The server does not tell you till you say QUIT.
d. The server accepts the mail silently and sends a mail later saying that the mailbox does not exist.
Since there is no sure-shot way of determining this no exception is thrown.
(Also check out the RFC for a typical SMTP session if the commands confuse you.)

Blackberry ID Associated to Invalid Email Address

Hello,
I've made a awful mistake of adding a blackberryID to my phone with an invalid email address.
I can't change it as I can't remember what password I set.
I can't recover the password, as it's an invalid email address.
Is there anything I ca do to get this sorted (I have since created a blackberry ID to the correct email address).

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given your situation, only human intervention can help you now. The automated processes simply cannot deal with such a situation. To receive that, you must ring up your mobile service provider and convince them to escalate your case up to BlackBerry. Further, you must convince BlackBerry to provide you with a solution -- which likely will either be resetting your current BB ID so that you can again access it or having you create a new BBID and they will manually move your purchase records over. Note that I have no idea if they will be willing to do this, but there is no other way that I know of to retain your prior AppWorld purchase records.
But, first please decide if such is even necessary. If, for example, you did nothing with that other BB ID (e.g., no AppWorld purchases, no BBM contacts, etc.), then you can simply abandon it and use the new one you have created.
