Why has iTunes become difficult and frustrating to use?

I've been a Mac user for 6 years and have always loved them, but since the latest two iTunes updates I've found myself with my old Windows reaction - getting frustrated because it won't do what I want it to. (I'm on version 11.0.1 (12).
When I search music in my library - either by track or artist - I expect to double click on the result and be taken to it. Now insted I have to right click and be given loads of options, and it still won't show up. User simplicity has always been the key to a great product in my opinion, and now it seems to be going backwards. Perhaps there's something I'm missing, but I don't think so.

In search box untick search entire library and click on arrow where you can select all, song, artist, album or composer.
Search works fine for me.

I have two identical databases one in Microsoft Access the other in SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5. Both are OLEDB compliant.
The application I'm writing is designed to be a standalone tool, and changes made to the .NET framework made using Access as a backend data storage no longer practical.
I remade the Access database as a SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 database using the VB.NET IDE. To save the previous work I changed the Access data provider to the SSCE 3.5 data provider and matched the correct database to the appropriate data provider.
Access Connection String:
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source="C:\Users\Mark\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\BindingCtrls\BindingCtrls\bin\Debug\objBkUp.ACCDB";Persist Security Info=False
SSCE Connection String:
Provider=Microsoft.SQLSERVER.CE.OLEDB.3.5;Data Source="C:\Users\Mark\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\BindingCtrls\BindingCtrls\bin\Debug\Archives.SDF";Persist Security Info=False
The previously working code failed. I suspected a subtle difference between the databases. A developer acquaintance suggested I write both database schemas into XML files and compare them with a freeware text comparator named
ExamDiff. In the interest of saving space I'm only going to show one column's differences between the two databases.
Access DB column:

SQL Server CE column:
<xs:element name="PCID" msdata:ReadOnly="true" type="xs:int" minOccurs="0" />
As you can see the only difference between the two columns is: msdata:ReadOnly="true".
The simple question is: Why can't I change the msdata:ReadOnly="true" property to false using the VB.NET Server Explorer tool inside the VB.NET IDE?
They are suppose to be compatible. There is a flaw.

I thought it would be helpful for those who are interested to place the test application out on OneDrive http://1drv.ms/1hIMEPw , so you can see exactly what I'm doing.
We will test the Access database, followed by the SQL Server CE database. All we are doing is activating one database, add two items; then do the same test with the other database.
In the tests I ran the Access database worked without any problem. However, the SQL Server CE one blew up.
In the frmBinding_Load event I have a section I partitioned off with dashes.

Press F5 to run the application. Press the Yes button to authorize item archiving on the PC where you are testing this application. Your PC will be different from mine.
Once the form is up on the tree view control open up some folder and add at least two items to the database. Similar to the image below:

Follow the same steps you did to run the application. When you add one item this occurs:
First off you notice five of the six bound controls are empty, but it says one records has been added to the data set table. Select another item and press the plus button on the navigator control.
An invalid casting exception gets thrown: "Cannot cast DBNull.Value to type System.Int32. Please use a nullable type."
This bothers me, because according to Microsoft both of these databases are OLEDB compliant and should function exactly alike.
I would be interested in what will happen on newer versions of Visual Studio.

Apple TV will stream music but will not connect to iTunes library to stream movies or podcasts. During the unsuccessful connection process, iTunes becomes unresponsive and must be forced to quit.

Apple TV 3 will stream music via Home Sharing from iTunes on Mac running 10.6.8 but will not connect to iTunes library to stream movies or podcasts. When trying to connect, iTunes becomes unresponsive and must be forced to quit. ATV will stream movies purchased through the ATV but not those purchased through or ripped/copied onto the Mac. I've tried fixes suggested for similar problems (rebooting ATV and Mac, signing out then back into iTunes Store) to no success. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

This is the most bogus example of Apple rip-off EVER. They do not advertise this *feature* and yet expect people to invest in an Apple ECOSYSTEM? My experience with Apple TV using a central media "server" (a dedicated Mac Mini) has been atrocious. I continually get "Cannot connect..." messages and with typical Apple "it just works" mentality, there is no reason stated. I HATE APPLE TV and I HATE APPLE. Peddle your crapple somewhere else.

Quick answer: Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields. If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

I am confused what device you are talking about. You question is here in the Using iPhone section, but it is marked for your MacBook Pro running iOS 6? If you are talking about an iPhone and you never update your profile to say you are running iOS 7, I would blame the paralax feature that slightly zooms into your picture, making certain low-res photos look extra blurry. Hope this helps.

boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Is it still very slow?

Had the same problem, the only fault and the reason why it happend is a bad wifi connection!

Why has adobe made Illustrator so clunky, difficult and unfriendly to use?

Why has Adobe destroyed the workability of Illustrator? I've been working with Illustrator, professionally, since 1988 (and almost as long with Photoshop) and this 'Creative Cloud' incarnation is just a f******g DISASTER!!!! Do they deliberately set out to make it as difficult to use as possible? It's bad enough that you have to sign up to this 'Creative Cloud' nonsense, but do the idiots that design the software ever try to actually work with it?!!! Have they got a clue about workflow?!!!!!
There is ZERO customer service, and no way of giving feedback. The arrogance of Adobe is just astounding - almost as astounding as the breath-taking stupidity of the people who write the damned software. I just wish they'd stopped at Illustrator 10 - at least that was sensible and workable.
If someone can actually - I mean REALLY - contact Adobe, you can tell them from me that their software and company policies stink - as does their arrogant indifference to paying customers evidenced by the complete absence of customer support. Also, you can tell them that their software writers are ignorant, incompetent fools.

The poetic version would be that Adobe don't have a "vision" and simply are limping from version to version as long as they can make a buck with plugging on a handful of features every time. Specific to AI it's pretty clear that the software would have needed to be "reinvented" from the ground up 15 years ago. Similarly, the people responsible for its development now seem to prefer to waste their time with things like the barely workable new curve tool or those ridiculous MAX demos instead of tackling more fundamental issues like the atrocious and unreliable file format, import/ export handling, parametric editing and generative, reusable graphics, genuine 3D tools and whatnot.... Alas, things are as they are and thankfully there are other programs out there aplenty.

Why is iTunes so difficult to navigate? It is the Windows 8 of the Apple world.

I have read the user guides and spend countless hours using iTunes 12 - but I still find it extremely difficult to navigate. It seems to be designed by the same people who created that monstrosity Windows 8, which set Microsoft back years. Earlier versions of iTunes seemed much more logical and easy to use. Now it feels like it has been designed by committee. Even the simplest task is unnecessarily complicated. Worst of all, there is no common navigation language - rules that work for one area don't apply to the others (ie navigation panes). Ideally, every page should offer the equivalent of the Finder in OS - so even if you get lost in iTunes - which is likely - you can always navigate back through the Finder. I could go on and on - but suffice to say that iTunes 12 is a MESS. Please go back to the drawing board Apple. Alternatively, can anyone show me a way to love iTunes 12. Do I just have to keep persevering with in the hope that one day the penny will drop and all will become clear for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

New Layouts make for flashy commercials - with lots of jumping and clicking - wow so easy -- until you purchase it and try to use it.
Always thought Windows 3.1 was the best in its desktop - with later versions just adding a frustrating layer to that.
With Itunes - have noticed the changes - don't use it that much except to synchronize to my IPOD (IPOD was originally used to backup my stuff off the hard-drive) not surprised that the 12 would be a mess (updates through the last 11. for Snow Leopard users).
Issues with updating OS software for me has been - I don't see anything in "what's new" that was something I wanted.
