I have set up airport express (I think)! But the wifi speed has not changed?

Have I just been suckered?
Well, the AirPort Express cannot "boost", or "extend", or "repeat" the wireless signal from a Sky router by using wireless only, so you may want to have conversation with the salesman.
The AirPort Express can only "extend" a wireless network if you have another Apple router providing the network.
From Apple's literature sheet on the Express:
Extend an existing Wi-Fi network’s range.
If you already have a wireless network in your home and want to extend its range, AirPort Express can help. Just place it in range of your primary base station — an AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, or another AirPort Express

Why has my Latency (Ping) increased from 20ms to 3...

Got BT Infinity installed (FINALLY, after over 12 months of them putting it off every 3 months) but this was due to a problem in our village I believe. Anyway, I am right at the end of my line and 5KM or so from my local exchange, I was only getting 2.3 meg max on ADSL and 0.8 meg upload, on BeThere (02) broadband. My pings averaged 18ms to BBC.co.uk (London/Local Servers).
Now, had infinity installed last Tuesday, and expected upload and download speeds according to Infinity of 42.1MB download and 6.5MB upload. Fastest speedtest yet was 48MB on speedtest.net and fastest upload was 6.7MB.
Now two questions:
1. A few days ago, I was receiving speeds on average of about 42-44MB in speedtests, now as of yesterday morning, this has dropped to around 38Meg. My Upload is about the same at 6.2meg.
2. THE MAIN QUESTION - Why has my Latency increased from about 20 (18-23ms on average) to 30?
Every speedtest I do now for the last 2 days, is coming back with a ping of 29-33ms which is a sudden increase of 10ms. I'd like to know what may have caused this, as I game and I know a better ping is crucial for gaming.
Can anyone shed some light here?

Well from that tracert you can see the increase isn't all down to interleaving, the first hop after the router is only 15ms, that's the interleaving, it's after this hop that the ping times increase to near 30, so in your case the ping increase is all down to how bt are routing your connection over their network.
Here's my tracert to the same website, routing is different for me and hence the better pings, also the lower interleaving depth on the second hop is also helping of course

Why the applied_scn can not increase?

I use the Oracle stream while I find the change of the source databse can apply in the remote database,but the applied_scn can not increase for a long time after the change has success.If this scn can not increase,I can not delete some logfile,which may be full of my disk one day.

you say you want delete some logfile , destination's logfile , is it right ?
i think that's no problem because the change of LCR is kept in Stream Queue but not in logfile. that means you can drop some archivelog as you want. it dosn't matter! :)

The title tells a lot.
Some things I think are missing, as you can get told the weather, but there is no weather icon. Same for stocks, and why can't the iPad have a voice memo or compass app?
It seems surprising that for something bigger than the iPhone hasn't got equal features, but has less?
Anyone know?

They are meant to be two seperate products. The iPad has features that the iPhone does not.

Why has my master not applied itself accurately

The master is correct with footer within footer rulers and moves down when I apply content but the site pages all have footer in page content with rulers beneath consequently the footer does not move when I enter content . What have I done to cause this to happen and how do I rectify it. I really thought all my problems were over when I started using muse but I can see that it is going to be almost as troublesome as dreamweaver. Can you help me please.

I am having more trouble with understanding the filing system than anything else.In my code should I put<a href="/assets/omrmuse.muse"> where omrmuse.muse is the name of the site I am working on. Does this go in head or body? I know this is probably not your job to teach me these simple things but Muse is such a brilliant piece of equipment that to finish my simple site once this little animation is in place I may never need to trouble you again. I have tried reading up about server paths but unfortunately most people writing about these things assume that the reader is already fully up to speed on what they are talking about whereas to me I have to look up virtually every tenth word or so to see what they are trying to tell me. Can I actually see the files contained in the Muse site folder? In dreamweaver which completely frustrated me, there was a panel with all the files fully visible. I actually got this video working in Dreamweaver and was extatic until I previewed in ie8 and it had grabbed the footer colour and dragged it all over the content area of the page at which stage I decided to try Muse. Why has my broadband not been activated?

Long painful story but suffice it to say I have been attempting to order broadband from BT for the last 5 months. On Friday 24th High Level Complaints informed me that they had FINALLY managed to place an order ...... lots of rubbish excuses about robotics and tags and the like. They were to expedite the installation once the order had been processed through the system (24 hours).
Yesterday I received a call from someone in HLC who would commit to nothing and was obviously more interested in left over turkey and mince pies. He said that the connection could be active 'in the next 10 minutes' or 'sometime in January'. I can only assume he thought he was being amusing.
This morning there was still nothing ........ so I called up the number dispalyed in the troubleshooting section on the screen of my iPad. Just to see what the situation was.
He informed me that the order placed on 24th December had been CANCELLED as the result of a 'server error'. Imagine my delight! He then told me that I would have to chase this with Order Management on Monday morning.
Would one of you rather more enlightened people please enlighten me.

Why has war thunder not been released in North America?

I purchased one fo the first PS4s and I have been very happy with it in general. The number 1 reason that got this system is because I wanted to play War thunder. You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Fan speed not increasing when cpu/gpu runs hot (causes black screen)

I've spent a good deal of time trying to narrow down the cause of all the crashing to black screen issues that I've had in both boot camp and OSX. I had first noticed it in boot camp while playing fallout 3 and warhammer online. After playing for awhile, when the gpu hits around 85C, the screen will turn black and the audio will begin looping. A cold reboot is then required.
Running COD4 in OSX led to the same problem. I figured it might be an SMC issue so I reset it and launched COD4 again. The first time I tried, I thought I had fixed it but when I launched the game again, the fans no longer sped up to cool down the machine.
I believe there is definitely something wrong with the SMC on my machine and the same issue may be affecting several other people who have reported the black screen problem when gaming. Will speak to apple tech support tomorrow to see if there's an SMC upgrade coming up. If not, I'll need to replace the MBP AGAIN. What is up with apple QC these days?

I keep sounding off about this in every thread I see it mentioned because it's really a problem for me.
I have had this occur with Postal 2, Eternal Lands Client, and 4x4 Evolution 2. My Macbook Pro was manufactured Nov. 5th and I received it on the afternoon of Nov. 13th, purchased from the Apple online store.
The screen doesn't just go "black", the backlighting actually goes off. The audio tends to loop. If I let it sit for a while I find "NVChannel(Display):" timeout! errors in the log.. But nothing indicating a panic, crash, or hang. Most times there is NOTHING in the log which is very disconcerting obviously.
I ran an 8 hours extended looping hardware test with the AHT CD today and it found no problems.
Tech Tool Deluxe find no problems either, for whatever that is worth. Yet it seems if I play any OpenGL based game I get an unpredictable, random dead screen and audio loop.
With the various talk about temperatures, I find that it happens even if I just turned the computer on. It takes about 30 seconds to boot, and if I start a game immediately it often has blacked out immediatley.. No time to get hot. iStat Pro reports temps not even getting far past 65 sometimes when this happens. Full screen or windowed mode, still happens. But only with games. Any kind of video or screen savers or anything, no problems. Also, only with the 9600M GT.
In another thread people have had success with exchanging their units. Not sure what happens for me having bought a CTO online.

Why has Mavericks' speed lagged into uselessness?

I've reinstalled Mavericks via recovery mode.
I've bought and run DiskWarrior on all counts.
I've run Hardware Test, both short and long versions.
Run Disk Utility.
All tests done from a separate boot drive or Recovery Mode.
Upgraded memory from 2G to 6G.
Log in to user account takes more than 5 minutes.
Apps take 3-5 min to launch
Switching from one window to another takes 15+ seconds.
Some apps repeatedly crash such as Mail and iTunes. When Mail says I need to rebuild mailboxes and I say go ahead, it will not
Use some third party apps but not many utilities-no clean up utilities
Using Early 2008 iMac
I'm on the verge of erasing iMac and reinstalling Lion. I'd appreciate any advice. I've searched and searched this topic here. Many suggestions don't apply since I don't use the 3rd party apps mentioned in a lot of the problems. Tried all the other solutions like zapping PRAM and stuff. A lot of folks seem to be having this problem, but no one seems to be getting satisfaction despite the generous and varied solutions offered. Didn't have this problem before I upgraded. Thanks for your ideas. The First of your tasks I did seemed actually to make it worse. After rebooting normally, any window 'built' itself in layers, sort of what you see in Safe Mode or a kernal panic. When I tried to open Safari to get to this forum the whole computer 'hung' for about 2 minutes then shut off and restarted itself. Never done that before. The second time Safari took over three minutes to launch.
So now, finally I was able to run EtreCheck, as you see: FYI, I keep iTunes library on external hard drive- have done for a long time, never had a problem before Mavericks. Also, Time Machine is housed on a separate external hard drive from iTunes ( I have 4 external hard drives for separate uses, another of which is a Boot Drive.

Are you only using one computer/iTunes library? you can only sync with one iTunes library.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
