Why have category colours suddenly vanished from my calendar?

I have several categories for events in my calendar. I have selected different colours for each. Until a few days ago, these colours showed on my calendar - down the side of my events. Any idea why they don't show any more?

I understand that your external hard drive that had been working with your Mac, is no longer being recognized. You have completed some great isolation steps already by testing a different external drive with your Mac, and testing your external drive with another computer. To continue troubleshooting this situation, I would recommend reading over the Top troubleshooting tips section int eh attached article and working through the steps you have not yet completed.

    Why have I received an email from Adobe telling me my subs about to run out? I bought a Creative Cloud sub for a whole year about a month ago - with auto renewal too. I went back and checked my account with Adobe. That all seems to be in order. Why have I got an email telling me I have till 10 June 2012 before the sub runs out?

    I too have received this email and one telling me my trial software expires in 2 days. I checked and yes, again I'm showing trial software though AAM shows the creative cloud copy downloaded and installed. I was unable to reach anyone within 20 minutes of hold at Adobe customer support phone but was able to speak to someone named Karal on chat. Karal told me that Adobe would look into the matter and get back to me. When I asked for a case number I was told one would be sent to me after the chat. I'm still waiting.
    There are numerous problems with the Adobe Creative Cloud as everyone knows. What we need to keep in mind when dealing with Adobe Creative Cloud is that we are all BETA testers for this new type of service. Adobe was and is unprepared to service the Creative Cloud at this time but I can't believe they are not working to resolve the problems. Will some customers get "screwed" over during this BETA testing period? Of course. You have to expect that you will and take it with a grain of salt. Let's face it there really isn't another option to Ps/Dw/Lr/Acrobate is there? No, so let's calm down and try to help each other. The poor souls on the other end of Customer Support are just as lost and confused as we are..it's not their fault and they have no power or resources to fix the overall problems.
    I can tell you what I’ve done for the company I work for since I recommended the cloud and obviously it was not a good choice for us at this time,
    On 6/9 we will cancel the subscriptions to the cloud unless I find that the individual software will not recieve maintenance updates as is now the current rumor.
    We will upgrade our individual software packages with the upgrade option and request CD backups.
    We have contracted with DropBox for a 500mg box. I really like this service so far.
    I’m hoping this puts me back in good status with the boss and the graphics department as everyone will get what the need to work without the limitations of the cloud and without me spending hours each day trying to figure out support issues.
    Remember if you can live through the next 6 to 10 months the Creative Cloud will probably be a great thing. If not, bail now and come back when it's ready for "prime time". As we use to say in my RANGER days. "Suck it up soldier; this is what we train for!"

    As far as I am aware digital copies from DVDs/Blu-Rays are one-time only downloads, unlike iTunes purchased films which can be re-downloaded in some countries (and if they are from film studios who have agreed to it).  If you haven't got a backup copy of them and they are still in the store then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download of them (as they were digital copies I'm not sure if they will but you can try) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    But you should backup all of your downloads, as even though you may currently be able re-download them there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store for future re-downloading (content providers occasionally remove them).

    The time of the even has passed. Settings > Mail, Contacts , Calendars, scroll down to Calendars, select Sync and select what you want to sync.
    You deleted them.
    You deleted them in iCloud or on our computer.
    Someone else deleted them.

    I set up my new iphone and mobile me account this morning with no problems. I used the phone, contacts, and calendar with no problem for about three hours and then all of my contacts and calendar entries vanished. I have backed both up from my PowerBook. Any thought on what happened and how to prevent?

    I figured out my problem. When I set up my accounts on my phone I had a .mac and a .me account and made the mistake of having sync turned on with both. When I figured out that my PowerBook was syncing with the .mac account I turned off the .me sync on my phone and everything is restored!

    why do you make life difficult when you issue upgrades . Surely you should check that they do what you say they will do!!
    IiPhoto becomes photo , easy peasy you say photos from iPhoto library will automatically transfer across to photos .
    bit of a let down when you find that out of 20,000+ photographs NOT ONE was transferred from iPhoto library . I take it that I have got to sit in front of my screen and transfer one by one , because to my horror tried to update from my Time Machine back up it does not transfer album data across at all . Heart felt thanks for that guys !
    ALso so some of the shots won't transfer because metadata is compromised .
    CAn I revert to Iphoto and get rid of photo ?

    You have to open your iPhoto library with Photos to convert it to the Photos format.  Launch Photos with the Option key held down and check to see how many libraries are presented in the window.  If there is a Photos library open it to  see if there's any photos.  If not then you haven't opened the iPhoto Library with Photos to convert it. So launch Photos again with the Option key held down, select the iPhoto Library and let it  convert.
    Also, the iPhoto application is still in the Applications folder.  It was just replaced in the Dock with Photos. If you were using iPhoto 9.6.1 before upgrading to 10.10.3 you can still use it with your iPhoto Library.

Also, I'm paying for extra Cloud but how do I access it ? Machine keeps saying I have no space but then shows I have only used a fraction of the cloud I have paid for!   • Why are my images suddenly gone from lightroom?

    A few days ago I imported 101 images from an SD card to my Lightroom catalog. The images are still in the two locations they imported to on my hard drive and backup drive. But the folder is suddenly not in my catalog. I had sorted and worked on all of these and really don't want to start over. Any ideas where they may have gone?

    Im not really sure what info is necessary...I uploaded to my existing catalog. I store my catalog in my dropbox folder for syncing with my iMac. I am on the road so there is no syncing going on with crappy hotel room wifi, but imported into my existing catalog, choosing my desktop for the destination. And a backup to an external. Today I imported todays pics, and noticed the folder from a few days ago was gone. It still sits on my desktop, and external, but all record of it is gone from lightroom. Searched by file name, etc... I had done edits to the pics and now they are all gone. I have 20,000 photos in lightroom, and have never had this happen.

    did you check
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<yourprofile>\extensions?
    Your add-ons should be there? If not check the firefox profiles folder
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles?
    Look for other profiles and search in there the extensions folder. May be for some reason you changed your profile?

  • Why have my emails been blocked from downloading?

    The email below was sent to me saying I have been automatically removed from the CCLIST1 list (Calorie Count Monday) as  a result of repeated delivery error reports from my mail system and indicating my email account does not exist and that I may be permanently unable to receive emails on my OS and iOS devices.
    This is the second time in three months it has happened. At that time I couldn't find any help on the web or from computer-savy friends regarding how and why it happened or how to rectify the situation. After a week or two my email was permanently blocked and I had to change my email address and contact a couple hundred people and businesses with the new address -- many hours were spent doing this. I could still read my emails and send them on my service provider's website, CenturyLink. This was very helpful as many of the web accounts I had required email address verifications before they would accept account information changes.
    My internet/email service provider tried to help by having me redo setting up the Mac Mail account on my iMac. That didn't work. I also went online to Apple to again use the method for resetting the Mail account as well as look for answers.
    I received the email below yesterday, so hopefully I have some time to solve the problem before my email is blocked from downloading to my devices.
    Any advice and step-by-step directions on rectifying this problem would be very much appreciated.

    I read a few more discussions on this problem elsewhere on-line with the suggestion that I had a bug on my computer that hijacked my email account to send emails elsewhere (not that I had any clue on how to discover that on my computer).
    I followed the suggestion to access my email account on-line and change my password and make it stronger. I did that and was able to get my emails downloaded to my computer and other devices.
    I'm pretty sure that my original problem started when I unsubscribed from the Calorie Counter on-line newsletter by pressing a link at the bottom of the email I received from them. A screen came up that said I was unsubscribed and then disappeared in a flash.The experience seemed odd and weird compared to other times when I've unsubscribed from something.
    As a test I resubscribed to the newsletter and then unsubscribed. I was directed to one of CCounter's internal web pages and went through a couple of steps in order to finish the process... all very professional and obviously on the newsletter's website.
    So the lesson I learned was have a strong password for my email and change it occasionally. And do the same for other accounts that are password protected.

  • Can a RAW image have a colour profile straight from camera?

    I am totally confused after having read a host of apparently contradictory materials. If I shoor RAW images, can they already have a particular colour profile imposed on them by the camera? Does not RAW mean 'no profile before being processed by software outside the camera'?
    I have a Canon Powershot G11 camera. JPEGs are always recorded with sRGB profile in this camera. But after some e-mail correspondence with the Canon technical enquiry department, they have told me that the RAW images are also recorded with sRGB profile, i.e they already have that profile as they come out of the camera and before they are processed by the Adobe DNG Converter and ACR. Can this be right?

    Usually cameras don't embed profiles, rather they include a simple tag in the exif data "hidden" within the raw file.  This can be used by manufacturer's software for default rendering, but has no effect upon the actual raw image data.  This is also done with jpeg output, although of course the camera has rendered the image into either sRGB or Adobe1998 depending upon the camera settings.
    I generally set Photoshop to ignore exif colorspace tags (File Handling within Preferences), only want to honor a profile if is actually present.  Therefore I always set my camera to sRGB so that on the rare occasions I shoot in jpeg I won't have the wrong colorspace in use.  Of course for ACR the camera colorspace makes no difference, since the output colorspace is chosen within ACR, no attention is paid (for raw) to the exif tag.  I use ProPhoto for most work in ACR/Photoshop to avoid channel clipping.
