Why i need to compile again and again after editing?

Hi all,
I would like to ask you something about compiling. Before i run my program i've got to compile for the first time . But whenever i stop running and edit my program, i need to recompile it again . Is it the normal condition or not? could you advise me something about that ?

You probably need to give us a few more details.
Is this about LabVIEW? Are you using plain LabVIEW or some specialize flavor (e.g. RT, embedded, FPGA, etc.).
(It is normal that a program needs to be recompiled if you edit the code, but in LabVIEW this is automatic and typically near instantaneous.)

Why we need two joins while we can do it just by replacing the tables?
Query 1.
SELECT e.ename, d.dname
FROM emp e LEFT JOIN dept d ON e.deptno = d.deptno ;
Query 2.
SELECT e.ename, d.dname
FROM emp e RIGHT JOIN dept d ON e.deptno = d.deptno ;
The same result of Query 2 can be get from following query with LEFT JOIN.
Query 3.
SELECT e.ename, d.dname
FROM dept d LEFT JOIN emp e ON e.deptno = d.deptno ;
So why we need LEFT and RIGHT Joins while we can do this by just replacing tables position ( as in Query2 and Query3).

Why would you restrict the syntax so that you only had one of the two syntax options? That forces developers to write queries in a particular way. If you only had a LEFT OUTER JOIN operator, for example, the first table would always have to be the one that drove the number of rows in the result set. Sometimes (most of the time in my experience), that's a sensible way to approach the problem. But occasionally you get problems where you want to start with the sparse tables and join to the denser tables and having the RIGHT OUTER JOIN makes it much easier to approach the problem that way.
Re-ordering the tables in a query using ANSI syntax is also not necessarily a trivial endeavor. It's also the same reason that you have multiple ways to write a loop or multiple ways to iterate through a collection. While it's completely possible to rewrite any loop in the form

END LOOP;that's not always the clearest way to express a piece of logic. Generally, a nice FOR loop or a nice WHILE loop is simply a clearer and cleaner solution. Similarly, sometimes a LEFT OUTER JOIN is a clearer way of expressing a SQL statement and sometimes a RIGHT OUTER JOIN is a clearer way of expressing it.

Why reports are needed to compile again and again

Whenever we make a database change all reports needs to be recompiled. It means when we give our user a new application we have to give him *.RDF files so that when he run the script to run reports he would need to recompile all reports.
My question is
how can it be preventd?

It can not be prevented, you should recompile reports when changes in database stored PL/SQL.

Why some need to be setVisible() and some not

This is a general question. I am just why some Swing Components need to be setVisible() such as the JPanels, but JButtons don't need to be. What's the general rule guiding this?

Only top level containers (JFrame, JDialog) need to be set visible - all other components (JButton, JPanel, ...) are visible by default.

Changed Compilation status and now, after syncing, iPod is missing music

Frustrated with not being able to view all the Artists on my iPod, this past weekend I removed the "Part of a Compilation" info from most of my compilation-classified albums. I then synced my iPod. It didn't take very long and I guess I found that odd, but I just assumed all the music was still on my iPod and didn't bother to check.
Today, I find that while all the music I changed the info on remains on iTunes, it's missing from my iPod and won't sync.
Is there something I need to change on my library to get the iPod to load these missing songs? They were on it before, albeit as part of a compilation.

Please dont chuck it out of the window, it might land on some poor elves.
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem but help in troubleshooting.

Need help showing singles and albums after searching for them In I Tunes 11 Win 7

Just got I tunes 11 iusing Win 7 and when I add songs and search for them in the upper right hand corner the album or the song appears. NowI need to view the single so I can add info. But I cannot figure out where to click to jump to that single shown in the main display or the album shown in the main display window. Can somebody please help me? What to you click on? Thanks in advance. Also where are your playlists?

I wanted to bring closure to this unanswered thread. I came to realize that I put way too much into that post (information overload) and couldn't possibly expect for anyone to take on such a compilation of driver issues all at once. I later put each issue into separate threads and then got the help I needed. I learned how to find out what the Hardware ID was for each one and got the appropriate software driver to match.
Kudos go to Jerry_Lippey who helped me out in so many ways plus gave me the link to a page where I learned how do do this myself.

Why did i lose my apps and data after syncing to another new computer? i clicked transfer but only transfered part of the apps?

Okay basically i had 166 apps in my ipod...
After i bought new laptop and wanted to sync into it, it said to transfer apps from ipod touch to laptop, i did, but it only transferred part of it and said the remaining was not able to be transfered...
i had encountered this problem when i transfered the apps in my old pc to my old laptop, now that i wan to transfer apps from my old laptop to my new one, i thought i knew what to do..
i knew the problem was with the fact that the other apps was bought with another apple id thus not able to transfer as it is not yet authorised... while it was syncing, i authorised the older apple id that the apps was not synced yet... after i did, i realised i was left with the apps bought with my new apple id only...
then i realised i lost all my data on my older apps, like the privacy photo app which had memories of my photos stored in it.. tap tap 4 all my songs in it... and 70 other apps..
What happened? this did not happen in my previous attempt during my transfer of apps from old pc to old laptop... so why?
its really really sad... all my data was lost, i got back the apps though.. but data in it all LOST...
what to do? can i still retrieve it back?

- Try redownling the apps by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
The computer has to be authorized and signed into the account that originaly purchased them.
- When all the apps are ih the iTunes library, try restoring from backup if you have the backup that would contain all the app date. I would turn off autosyncing (go to iTunes>Prefernces>Device and check the box titled Prevent iPods...automatically" to prevent overwritting the previous backup.

Why does this browser get worse and worse after every update?

ever since updating it has froze,adobe crashes,and unresponsive script. it froze up for 25 minutes awhile ago. i let it stay frozen just to see how long it would stay frozen. what is up with this browser?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

SMB on Server 10.5.6: Vista user needs to enter user and pass after restart

We have a Vista user running in XP mode connected to SMB on OS X Server 10.5.6. After every log out or restart windows ask the user to enter the user and password. We have checked the remember user and password box but the windows can't remember the user and pass...
What could we do?

Is your server bound to AD, and your PC clients as well (probably) ?
First, stop SMB.
Then, backup /etc/smb.conf
Then edit it (use nano or vi or emacs via the Terminal. If you must use the GUI then use TextWrangler.
Make sure the file permissions are preserved.
under the [global] section of /etc/smb.conf, make the following modifications (add the entry if it's not there):
security = ads
windbind separator = +
; auth methods = guest opendirectory
ie: comment out "auth methods" via the ";"
Start smb and compare. Anytime you make a change in the GUI tools, verify your edits are preserved.

Why are original photos now showing in events after editing in external editor?

In iPhoto 9 before the more recent updates, when I edited photos in an external editor all I saw in the event was the revised photo. Now I see both the original and the revised copy. I know I can hide these but never had to do this before. In addition, if I use reveal in finder the file shows two copies in the original or master file, both appear to be the same though the additional one is designated 2. This could increase my photo file considerably. What is the purpose of this new procedure and can it be revised?
Also, some of the context menu items removed and now one has to go to the menu or start learning the keyboard shortcuts. I am not sure that iPhoto has been improved.

iPhoto has been doing this since iPhoto 11 (v9) was released, not since the recent update. Let Apple know how you feel if you're not happy.

Iphoto pictures not same on ipad and mac after editing

If I edit a photo on my ipad (or iphone for that matter) and then transfer the photo to my iMac, the changes are not retained - the original photo is moved rather than the modified version. e.g. I take the photo of two people and edit the photo on my ipad to remove one of the people, when I move the photo to the iMac, both people are still there. Yet when I look at the photo on the ipad, only one is there. It is as if the whole photo is retained on the ipad, but you can see your edits. When you move it to the iMac, the changes are lost. Is there any way to move the photo and have it retain the edits from the iPad? thanks

It sounds like you're editing pictures in iPhoto on your iOS devices and going back back to your Mac looking for the edited photo, but only see the originals. This may be happening because of the resolution of the photos being saved to your iPad or iPhone, see the article linked below.

Since OWB 10.2 there is only one Repository storing Design and Runtime-Components.

Why we need clusters

Just curious to know why we need to cluster servers and why can't we just have say 3 or 4 managed servers as part of weblogic domain and deploy application onto them and configure a load balancer to look at the managed servers individually than the cluster..I know general concept of clusters ,advantages of using it etc..but just wanted to know if there are any specific disadvantages if we don't cluster servers

Scenario: Suppose you have 2 ManagedServers MS1 and MS2
Now Suppose you have One Application (AppOne.war) deployed on both ManagedServers MS1 & MS2
Now see what the Load balancer can do in above scenario...
*1).* If from Client-A a Request comes then the Load Balancer will either redirect the request to MS1 or MS2....Suppose this time it is MS1. Now MS1 started Serving the request.
*2).* It means the Http Session of Client-A is available inside the MS1 Server JVM. As the Session is created on MS1 ...now the client-A can access any page available in the Application.which requires a Valid Http Session Object.
*3).* Now Suppose Suddenly MS1 Goes Down/Crashes... Now if the Client-A will refresh his browser ...Means Client-A is sending a Fresh request...But this time as the MS1 already went down .... So the LoadBalancer will forward the request to MS2....
BUT now the Problem is MS2 doesn't have Client-A HttpSession Data...so the Client will be Moved to the Login Page rather then the Page he actually requested for.
Now this is the Point where we need the Clustering....Suppose MS1 & MS2 would have been part of a Cluster in above scenario then ...his Session Data might have been replicated to Both the Managed Servers ...(As Primary HttpSession and Secondary HttpSession)...so even if any one of the ManagedServer Crashes still client will be able to access the application in the same Manner without any Interruption...Or Even Without even knowing that something Wrong happened with the Server.

u will require jsdk.jar..
put this in classpath and then compile ..it will surely compile
and for compiling ...there is no configuration reqd in tomcat
