Why is new iTunes loading slow?

I updated my iTunes and now having trouble with it. It won't load at all or it loads very slowly.

Did you try to reset the device by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

John's got you covered. Just an addendum.
The most recent version of iTunes you can run on a Leopard system is 10.6.3.25.
A .dmg installer for iTunes version 10.6.3.25 for Mac OS can be found at the following download page on the Apple website:

The new itunes is slow and I can not see my musics anymore. How can I have my musics listed like they were before?

I have the same problem with new 11.0. Presentation of album data now seems scrambled in 'Album' screen. Instead of albums in alphabetical order with all album tracks I now get albums in the order of the Album Artist. Unless the album artist is EXACTLY the same, the tracks on any one album can be spread all over the screen (hopeless for compilations). Does anbody know how to get the Album screen to sort solely on the Album title?

Quit Safari.
Open Keychain Access /Applications/Utilities

Delete all the keychains for the sites you have trouble logging into.
Relaunch Safari then go to Safari / Preferences, seleect the Autofill tab. Make sure: User names and passwords is selected.

• Why is the new ITune update slowing down my pc.

I recently updated ITunes...It now comes with a helper exe. Why did this change...It has slowed down my pc something terrible... I am running Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit..and never had this problem before...
Seems I need the helper exe to access ITunes now...I do not like updates that decide what runs or doesn't run....Is there a solution to this. I have one apple product it is an IPad mini...If it wasn't for the fact that I have purchased music and apps. It would end up in the garbage...That is how upset I am...
If this is a way for Apple to make me want to buy their products it will not work...
I have absolutely no problem with the ITune store on my IPad...just on on my desktop.

Hi theresa62,
The resource below explains the processes that are involved with the iTunes software installed with Windows 7. It's possible to use your iPad mini without the corresponding iTunes software on your Windows computer .... but it would limit what you can do with it. You can't sync your iPad with your computer, use iCloud services, etc. without the software. The choice is totally up to you.

• New iTunes/Quicktime slows down my computer

I'm working on a Powerbook G4 1.5ghz with 512 ram, running 10.3.9. Since installing it this afternoon, my system has noticeably slowed down, causing the spinning beach ball to come up more than often. Other applications are slower to load, and even some songs in iTunes have been involuntarily pausing while I scroll through my library. (and at the very least, scrolling through my library leads to a spinning ball). When's the patch coming out, Apple? And yes, I made sure to verify my disk permissions and restart my computer. (And don't get me started on how my Powerbook takes longer to start up now.)

Do you have a lot of temp files (each 15 Mo) created
by itunes on your "my music" folder on "my document"
on you c/ hard drive ? It appears in my case that my
computer is slow because for each song itunes created
theses files. I don't why and wait a reply (I post
another topic on this subject).
Like I posted before, this is almost always the result of your virus scanner. Those temp files happen because you virus scanner grabs the files before iTunes is done with them. Stop your virus scanner from scanning that directory or those files and your problem will go away.

• Why does my site load slower in firefox

My websites, http://thedailymeditation.com and http://lifeandself.com take longer to load in firefox. Why?

In what way do they take longer?
You can try to open a New Private Window to see if that has effect.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

• Why is tv show load slow?

I have verizon fios and current (3/18/14) version of Apple TV and I'm having extremely slow streaming/download performance for Apple services, specifically purchased TV Shows. I use Apple TV for Netflix and Hulu Plus and I'm having no streaming delays with those services.
This seems to have started in the past week. Is anybody running into this?

That would be due to your network. Netflix and similar services adapt to the network whereas iTunes content is fixed and needs to load a portion before playback begins.
What is your current connection, use speedtest.net
Check istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of your network, it will help to see if there is interference
Go to settings - general - network and make sure your DNS is set to automatic.

• Hard drive crash need help with new iTunes load and backup files

I have looked through the posts and not found my situation.
I had my iPhone synced to a PC computer and the hard drive crashed. I had an extensive library in iTunes, but none of the music was purchased online so I can't simply download it again. It was all from CD's, many of which belonged to friends. I now have an iMac. The music I like is still on my iPhone, but not on my new iMac. When I try to sync the iPhone with my iMac it wants to delete all the music on my iPhone. Is there any way to copy the music off my iPhone first - so I can add it back into my iTunes library?

Yes, luckily I have been in this situation.
You can download a free application that will take your music from your iPhone and place it onto your Macintosh HD.
One of these should suit your needs:

• Why wont new itunes allow me to search podcasts by date/list form anymore?

One of the best features of itunes podcasts is that you could search a key term and see all the individual podcasts related to it and then sort by date to select the newer ones. Now it appears with the new upgrade you can't do that, in fact you cannot even get a list view where you can click one button and download them. Now you have to weave back and forth through several screens just to find and review one episodes. It almost unusable now, since when you find the episode you want in cover form when you click on it, you have to again search for it inside all the listings of that particular podcast. Whoever upgraded the podcast section of itunes obviously does NOT ever search, download or listen to podcasts.

Kidquotes,
Did you ever solve this problem? Yes, it is a major annoyance to me. When the Oprah Lance Armstrong thing was happening, I remember searching "Lance Armstrong" and sorting by date, and pulling in what I wanted. I didn't want anything old.
Now I can't do such a thing.
I'm interested in, say, Neil Young. I want to see if he is the topic of any new podcasts. What can I do? I'm lost.
Let me know if there is a solution. Thanks,
Matt

• Why won't iTunes load?

When I try and access the iTunes Store from within iTunes, the 'Accessing iTunes Store...' progress bar keeps going round but nothing loads. I see a big grey line of text saying "iTunes Store" and that's it. I've disabled my anti-virus and restarted my computer many times over the week to see if it repairs itself but it hasn't. Also, it works fine using another computer on the same internet connection.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
