Why is UITabBar not a drop in replacement for UIToolbar?

In the IPhone SDK release 9a2151, the UIToolbar header has been removed from UIKit.h. In its place is a UITabBar class. This class has only a subset of functionality from the UIToolbar class. For example, there is no mode property, so it is impossible to set UITabBar's mode to UITabBarModeHighlight. In fact, this constant doesn't exist in the header file. Moreover, a UITabBarItem's image is modified by the OS so that it is gray when unselected, and blue when selected. This default behavior is not suitable for my application.
Related to the UITabBar is the fact that showFromTabBar crashes the simulator when invoked from a UIActionSheet instance.
A lot of these bugs are showstoppers for working with UITabBar. Are you guys just sticking with UIToolbar in the mean time?

iPad: RAM - 256MB, Processor - 1 GHz Apple A4
iPad 2: RAM - 512MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5
iPad 3: RAM 1024MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5X
Similarily, the iPad 2 did not get Siri and some other features in iOS 6.

Normal secured WiFi requires only a password to get access. The password is used to encrypt traffic between your device and the WiFi access point. If whatever you are using requires a username as well then it is not simply normal secured WiFi. Yes they can, you are correct. I should have maybe said that in my post. I was merely trying to say that I believe they want to keep the iPhone more organized. I got out of dragging and dropping to my iPod after I created my first playlist. Makes things a lot eaiser just to sync a list.

I purchased an 8GB mp3 player about 1.5 months ago with my sony rewards points and it was on sale for ~$52. The product turned out to be a complete dud so I returned it and was told it would be replaced since it's under warranty. Now customer service calls to say they don't have a comparable product to replace it with and want to send me a check for $52. How can Sony claim to not be able to replace an 8GB mp3 player?? Ridiculous. It's right there on the website. The product is no longer on sale so I can't go buy a replacement with the $52. Why is Sony trying to weasel out of replacing the product??

Why do I not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
1) When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected. However when we click on the document
link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option. Why does this happen?????
2) The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email; HOWEVER, one of our co-workers does get the
check out option when clicking on the link in the email task. Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ???? We have compared our internet settings and adobe
settings to ours and found no differences.
We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI. Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, no matter when I click the pdf type document in the library or click on the pdf document link in the workflow task email, it download the pdf doucment and then I can open it.
It will be better if you can descript how you
get the check out option as expected when you click on the pdf document in the library.
Then I upload a
word type document to the library, no matter when I click the word type document in the library or click on the word document link in the workflow task email, I can open the word document directly and get the check out option as expected.
I recommend to use the other type docuemts to check whether the check out option works.

Why has Adobe not created a .pdf reader for Blackberry?

It would seem to be advantageous for Adobe to write an Adobe Reader specifically for blackberry, in that it is one of the most-used mobiles out there.

Well, Les, I appreciate the suggestion, but it is brand new and has the latest operating system.
The problem is most noticeable to folks like me who often use JPEG-based .pdf files. As you know, before you zoom in, you have the prettiest little miniature image on your screen you ever saw, but it is not readable. When you zoom in to where the type (or music) becomes readable, there are artifacts that make it almost illegible -- certainly not easy to read in any case.
Plus, there are .pdf files I've received in my short time of use that would not open, and I've heard many others complain of the same thing.
Lastly, because I would like to open my .pdf files from a third-party app, I would prefer a reader that works in tune with all apps, not just email.

Adobe has changed its position and will be updating its older products that are still supported (CS 5 and up, I'm pretty sure, but not sure about CS 4). Please understand that this is for all intents and purposes a user to user forum. Yelling at your fellow users is not helpful. When you want to yell at Adobe, a nice thought letter to the CEO:

Many of my saved Bookmarks have their correct Web Icons.
However many fail to save their Web Icon leaving the Icon blank.
The Web Sites in question do have specific Web Icons.
I have tried deleting the Bookmarks in question and saving them again without success.

No problem here with that TalkTalk website, the favicon image saves immediately when I save it as a bookmark. It uses a conventional favicon.ico image in the root directory <br />

Accidents happen, and apple can certainly assist you with replacement of said device. Most manufacters would tell you to buy a brand new retail unit, apple will charge you about half price for a replacement unit. I agree its unfortunate that it happend, but expecting a free replacement is just going to lead to disappointment

XI pro not in drop down list for serial number verification

I have installed XI pro and am directed to the serial number upgrade page. XI pro is not on the drop down list and when I enter my serial number it tells me its not for the qualifying product when i try to use any of the XI drop downs. ???

As you've purchased an upgrade, when you enter the the Acrobat Pro XI serial number it will look for a previous qualifying version on your computer. If not found, you have the option to enter your previous version serial number so would enter your Acrobat Pro X serial number.
