Why validation does not occur if record status is NEW?
Hello! I have a control block MAIN with PORT item in it, which has Required property set. But when I enter that block and pass through this PORT item, it allows me to leave that item blank (and validation does not occur too), which is not what I need.
However, if I change some other item's value (and record status becomes INSERT), validation works as expected. So, I have one workaround for my problem, but this solution is not good.
How can it be fixed? Thanks in advance.
It looks like the documentation is lacking in this situation. But the documentation has always been less than complete.
On-line help also states:
Note: if the validation is as a result of a
call to the VALIDATE trigger and the
record's internal status is New, the process
stops.So it does mention records with status=New, but it does not give you the complete story.
Dave's explanation is correct, and his solution of setting the field in a when-new-record-instance trigger is as good as it gets.

Data Arrives to PSA but does NOT add any records to ODS.... WHY?

I have a unique isseu. My dada form an info-object arrives successfully to PSA. But this data does not get added to ODS. I know that ODS does not contain these records and PSA does show these records. There are no errors but zer records are added to the ODS. Has anyone come across this before? Am I missing somethign??

otheriwse u delete that request in DSO as anyhow it got 0 records from PSA...
and go to PSA(data source) manage and select the request u need to update and click on UPDATE WITH SCHEDULER option in that window and start...

This is the error iam getting in RSA1 for Heirarichal orgunit: So data load is failing.
EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (segment cannot be identified)
Message no. E0078
Diagnosis
The segment E1RSHND does not occur at the current level of the basic type ZSPB007 (extension ).
This error can have several reasons:
The segment E1RSHND is assigned to a group whose header segment does not occur.
The segment E1RSHND does not exist in the syntax description of the basic type ZSPB007 (extension ).
The sequence of segments in the group in which the segment appears is incorrect.
Previous errors ('mandatory' segment or group missing) may be due to this error.
Procedure

i reprocessed the Idoc in BD87 and now the status is 51. Error message in RSA1 is as follows

Diagnosis
The function module RSAR_DATA_RECEIVED and the application object type which were determined are not valid for this IDoc.
Procedure
1. Please check that the process code in the inbound partner profile is correct.
2. If this is the case, you should check the ALE inbound methods ALE inbound methods for the process code and see whether the specified function module and application object type are correct.
3. If this is also the case, then the function module and the application object type are not permitted for the logical message type, message variant, message function and basis type that are contained in the IDoc control record. You should check whether the correct values have been assigned to these fields in the control record. If they do have the correct values, then the assignment to the function module and the application object type needs to be maintained. -
WHY Finalcut does not Import 50i and 50p
WHY Finalcut does not Import 50i and 50p as AVCHD?
I have an haked GH2 Camera and an Sony CX730. Both record AVCHD as MTS files. I can import in Finalcut X 25p files but FCP would not import 50i and 50p
Files from both cameras.
Can some one tell me why it is so?

2. that i connect the camera to the mac mini via usb cable
3. i click in fcp the camera import symbol
4. nothing occurs

Form does not display all records from table
Hi guys
I modified one form that was based on a signle DB table. I removed certain fields from the table and added some extra fields to that table. Then based on the new table I also modified the form and removed the text items related to old fields in the table and added new text items pointing to the new fields now. II have checked all the new items properties and they have don't seem to be wrong or so. But now the problem is the form does not display all the records from the table. before it used to display all records from the table when qureied but not now. It only certain records from the table containing all new data and also old data but the form does not display other records though I don't see any obvious discrepancy. Remember that the before doing the modifications, I have table back for the old, created another table that contained new records for the new fields, and then I inserted the old records and updated the new table data in the new table with these new table values. So this way I have got my new table. Could someone help why the new modified form fails to display all records from the new table updated table though it display some of them successfully.
Any help will be appreciated.

KNVV is the customer sales data table and CHSPL is the field name called Batch Split Allowed
My advice is to deselect the field name from the table and test it by creating it once again ...

Hi All,
Does someone know, why SAP does not check Plant and company code relation at the time of PO creation or how can we put validation between plant and company code at the time of PO creation.
<b>Example:</b> Suppose i have a company 0001 which is assinged to Plant 0001. when i am creating a PO with another company code 0002(Entering at header level-Org, data) and using Plant 0001 at line item level. SAP does not do this validation.
How can we put this check in place?

There are three types of purchasing
- Company code specific :You need to assign company code to Pur organization
- Plant specific : You must assign plant to pur organization
- Cross company purchasing: No assignment between company code and pur organization.
In the case 3, the system will not check company code and plant relationship, but it will check plant and pur organization specific.
The following is the copy of sap help text:
You can assign a purchasing organization to one company code. This is company-specific purchasing.
You can assign a purchasing organization to no company code. This purchasing organization can then procure for all plants assigned to it, irrespective of the company code to which the plant belongs.
Since each plant must be assigned to a company code, the company code can be determined via the plant in each procurement transaction, even if the procuring purchasing organization is not assigned to a company code.
A purchasing organization must be assigned to one or more plants. This is plant-specific purchasing.
Now, check your company-code and purchase organization assignment.

Exchange: forward/reply on iPad does not update desktop message status
When one replies to or forwards a message through Apple Mail, the original message gets a little symbol (a curvy or straight arrow) to show that it has been replied to or forwarded.
However, when replying through iPad or iPhone on an Exchange account, the message status is not updated on the desktop. Replies sent via iPad on a standard IMAP account correctly update the message status however.
Any ideas why it does not work for Exchange?

SimonOh well, I answered the question myself. The reason (although since not one other person seems to have noticed this issue except me, nobody will really care ) is that ActiveSync on the iPhone doesn't update the message status on the server.

Validity does not lie in selected validity window.
Hello All,
We have some Z condition created in SAP CRM. We are maintaining the price list for ZLPT condition in General Condition Maintenance.
But if we put today's date or any past date in Validity from then record is getting saved. but if i entered future date in valid from then its giving error Validity does not lie in selected validity window.
The price for that some records is going to change after 2 months, so we want to maintain it now in GCM.

An attempt to change the "Properties" options prior to printing on my Lexmark X5150 causes the message. Same does not occur if I do the same under Internet Explorer.
I have tried creating the profile again and still get the same problem. The problem is machine based and not user based.

If you recreated the Outlook profile and still got the same problem, please try to recreate the Windows Profile:
Log on to client using local admin account->rename the profile folder under c:\users.
By the way, did you try to print the mails in OWA?

When I enable imatch on my iPhone 4s it takes approximately 30 minutes before other data fills 13.2gb of usable data on the phone. This problem does not occur when I manually sync music to my phone only when I access imatch. Is this a common bug, and if so; is there a fix?
yes it is. you can sign out of itunes account then sign back in. use http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311 to sign out.
