This may be a preauthorization hold by the bank. If you tried to make a transaction apple requests to see if the account has funds avalible so the bank holds aside $5, but when Apple when to make the transaction the bank declined them for some reason. Usually the something in the billing info isn't matching up. The Good news is this charge will never post to your account it will pend for several days then it will fall off the account. Contact iTunes at expresslane.apple.com and see if someone might see why it declined.

You've checked the purchase history on your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, and have you made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ? If you can't find the charge, or think that it is wrong (if you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax to the listed price in the store), then you can contact iTunes Support via this page and ask them for help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

First, you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If yes, it may not be charging properly. Be sure you are using the charger that came with the iPad. The iPad 2 requires a 10W charger. If you are using a different charger, including the one that came with an iPhone, it will charge very slowly if at all.
Also try charging a different device with the charger to be sure it and the cable are working properly.

My iphone 4s will not charge nor turn on and it does not reset. This has been going on for about 2days, at first it would only stay to 1% i turned it off to charge better and it will not turn back on nor reset using the home button and lock button.

Buller? Anybody? The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/ZD1211Mac.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update. This has been going on for a while.

Anyone find a fix for this? Most programs installed invoke this error.

That driver appears to be for a Zydas wireless usb adapter. Zydas has been through a couple of different acquisitions and no updates appear to be available, so you'll probably need to delete that extension.

After downloading I was entering my password for iCloud and clicked on forgot....now it's stuck and will not shutdown. When I try to shut down it says Set up Assistant cancelled shutdown. This has been going on for 5 hrs plus...any ideas?

The computer is completely unresponsive and won't shut down or turn off. It is stuck in Set Up Assistant after trying to sign in to AppleID.
Attempting to shut down or restart produces the following dialogue:
"The application Set Up Assistant has cancelled shut down.
To try shutting down again, quit Setup Assistant and click Try Again."
HOWEVER it is impossible to quick Set Up Assistant— the icon is completely unresponsive even to force quit, right click or anything.
I've managed to get into being able to see Dashboard and at the top Desktop and the dock below. But I can't click on anything from there. So it seems it is not the whole computer. Just set-up assistant.

In the home page why does Firefox say I haven't upgraded when I have. This has been going on for over three weeks, I am now on 9 and still it says I have not upgraded.

Why is iPHOTO CRASHING everytime I try and load it. This has been going on for at least most of November?

Everytime I try and load iPhot it crashes and the same error message comes up and I send it to Apple. I haven't been able to get into iPhoto for most of November and the patches Apple have issued don't help. Any ideas?

The usual ones, delete your preferences, repair permissions and try to start it up with a new library. Temporarily rename your current library so that iPhoto will create a new one on startup.

We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why. If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of the purchases on your account.
