Why won't bridge open?

Yes, I'm slow, but it has taken me several months to figure out how to create clothing with lace digitally. I had the big ah hah. I was up all night. It is 6.00am. The creative juices were flowing and then guess what?
Adobe Bridge will not open back up. Why? Because I paid for the Photoshop CC subscription they have been hounding me to join. Apparently I haven't downloaded something or something. Although everything was working just fine on my system.Everything was working fine on the photoshop cc trial. UNTIL NOW. I don't want to stop what I am doing to read some manual. I don't want to stop to trouble shoot . Because before it wasn't broken..

I do not completely understand what you wrote... you HAD the trial but now you have purchased a subscription... is that so?
If yes, Log out of your paid Cloud account... Restart your computer... Log in to your paid Cloud account

I am trying to open files in Camera raw from Bridge but get the following message.
"Bridge's parent application is not active."
Both Bridge and CS5 are open and I have opened camera raw previously.

The video shows replacing a current DLL file with one from last year - the key issue being that the files found in the Bridge and Photoshop folders are DIFFERENT. Why would this be? I checked a PS CS5.1 installation myself and the files are already the same. Is there an illegitimate copy of Photoshop being used or something, causing these files to differ? -Noel

Why won't files open or save in email

I have been trying to open some important files that were emailed and they won't open. I am getting the blue and white pop up asking if I want to open or save and it won't let me do either. It did this the other day and somehow I finally got it open after shutting down the computer. Tried that this time and it won't work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling adobe. It did not work. There is also an online website I use to complete and upload PDF file documents and it won't work either. What has happened? How do I fix?

Why won't files open in the space that the application is assigned to?

I have applications assigned to specific spaces, however, if I am in space 2 and I click to open an Adobe Illustrator (assiged to space 3) file, spaces will send me to space 3 but the file window will open in space 2 (where I was). I have to use F8 to view the spaces and drag it over to the assigend sapce. If i try to work on it in spaces 2 (where it opened) my pallets are blank. Any ideas?

Why can't Bridge open my raw files from Canon PowerShot 120-S? Using PS/5

Why can't Bridge open my raw files from my new Canon Power Shot 120-S camera? I'm using PS-5 and had no problems with other Canon cameras. I downloaded Adobe Camera Raw 8 but this has not resolved the problem.

If Safari is not opening any window when you click the icon, I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article:
If Safari can’t open a window - Safari Help
If you can’t open Safari or a new Safari window, try these suggestions.
Use the latest version of Safari and OS X. To check for a Safari update, choose Apple menu > App Store, then click Updates. For more information, see Keep your Mac up to date.
Check your startup disk using Disk Utility.
If the other suggestions don’t help, try reinstalling OS X.

Why won't iMac open the cd it just created?

My intel iMac (07 build) won't play/ open the cd I just burned on it. !
Older cds I created DO open, just fine. Why won't this new one open? It is a cd-r.
Does this mean that the burn did not happen? I have burned a cd-r, cd rw, and dvd - none of them will open.
iI need to send a cd of my artwork to a gallery to be juried. If I can't open the cd on my iMac, will the galley be able to open it? In other words - did I burn a cd and my iMac is just acting up? Or did I NOT burn a cd, and my iMac is acting up?
The message I get when I try to open the new cd is...." there is a problem. The Media is not supported"
and the iDVD icon shows up on the desktop.

Use a drive cleaner to clean your superdrive. See if that works. If it does, use it every 3 months or so if you do a lot of burning.

Are you sure you're running 10.6.8 and not Lion (10.7)? That sounds like what happens when you try to launch a Motorola (G4/G5) app on an Intel system running Lion since they removed the emulation layer.

Why won't mail open pps in keynote '09??

Since I installed SL can anyone tell me why, whenever I open a powerpoint presentation in mail instead of opening keynote '09 it opens keynote test drive in version '08 (although I have already purchased '08 and '09 ) and have have both installed on my system. I don't understand why it won't use '09 to open pps docs. If anyone knows of a solution or workaround I would be most grateful.

I tried deleting the plist, then 'choosing to open with iwork '09 and change all but still it jumps back to the default '08.

You could try to reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger):
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Why won't Bridge CS6 launch?

I've just installed Photoshop CS6 (64bit). I cannot launch Adobe Bridge - I get the message "Waiting for Bridge CS6....." and it won't progress beyond this point. Has anyone got any idea what I can do? I've rebooted the PC, but still the same.

Thanks for the tip. I got very excited thinking I'd got the solution at last - I went through all the steps as you detailed, then opened PS, tried to launch Bridge ..... and it hadn't worked for me . But I'm going to go through the other solutions provided in the link you gave me, so hopefully one of them will work.
Incidentally, like you, I just renamed the switchboard folder (to 'NoSwitchboard') rather than deleting it as advised by Adobe. Maybe I'll take the plunge and delete it.... After all, I can always uninstall everything and reinstall to restore it if it goes disastrously wrong...... can't I?
OK, Update: I found that although I'd renamed the Switchboard folder to NoSwitchboard, what had happened was that it created a NEW folder with that name, retaining the original Switchboard folder too. So I deleted the original Switchboard folder..... but it still didn't work . I also went to the path: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Adobe\Switchboard\Switchboard.exe and changed that folder. What happened then was when I tried to launch Bridge I got a message saying "Cannot launch Bridge because the extension file is missing" (or something like that). So I changed that back. Hmmm.
