Why won't google play work on firefox on my laptop when it works with internet explorer?

Google play will not play a movie on firefox -- whereas it works just fine if I open in Internet Explorer. What to do? I prefer to use Firefox.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

Have you tried Advanced > Create iPad Version and then sync those versions to the iPad

I was on the same boat, bud! I saw you had the exact same problem as I did and decided to come back to help you out. On another apple discussion page, a user--Charlicharli-- posted a link to download and everything seems to be fine now. Apparently we had to check with Lenovo. We were looking in all the wrong places for the fix!

I have tried deleting all cookies and cache several times, but nothing works. I can open Google calendar but when I click on any entry I just get a blank box. If I try to make a new event entry nothing happens. Everything works fine in Internet Explorer.
I am really getting tired of constant problems with Firefox. Every week I have something that doesn't work. One time it's downloading videos, the next week music or email, now Google calendar. I am about ready to give up Firefox forever.

I'm wondering were my favourites list went when I downloaded firefox ? Everything dissapeared when I changed from internet explorer

I had a list of sites that I regularly use for banking Gov't. agencies etc. etc. it was labeled my favourites whic I could add or delete at any time when I whent to my browser which happens to be google it apeared on the very left hand side of the screen. Since I have downloaded Firefox I cannot seem to find this list. Can anyone tell me where to look please?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Why won't Google Drive open in Firefox 34.0?

The tab at the top of the page flashes "redirecting" multiple times, then I get the broken robot saying "Invalid Request". Gmail, Sites, & Groups work fine. I have tried turning off Block pop-up windows and in "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons" I made an exception for Google Drive, which opens fine on my old Safari browser. Anyone else had this happen?

this can be related to the compression of the PDF file.
You can turn off the FlateDecode compression again via report RSTXPDF3 as described in Note #843480. It is a little confusing. The option 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' needs to be set to 'On' to turn off the FlateDecode compression.
To set this please run as follows:
se38 -> RSTXPDF3 -> enter 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' in the 'Name' field -> Select 'Change Settings' radio button
You will get a pop-up 'Do not use flat compression'.
Select the 'on' button.
After this check if the PDF is created correctly.

while in firefox 6.0 i cannot open pdf files with adobe reader x. how do configure firefox correctly as i have no problem with internet explorer opening pdf files? os is win7 ultimate.

Thanks .Ralph. The problem is only on the iPad 2only. I have an iPad 1 as well and it never had the problem. The only videos that I have tried are you tube and the tutorials on apple.com. I have absolutely no problem on either of my laptops or desktop PC's. Only the iPad 2. I am a new Apple user, so not very familiar yet with the product, but this is an absolute deal breaker for me. With Apple's reputation I was not expecting any such problems and it is beyond my skill set to solve it. Very frustrating. Again, no problem with you tube videos. I don't watch movies, so am not a Netflix member and haven't tried that yet, only you tube videos and apple.com tutorial videos. I have to watch those on my laptop. Again, I found a fix to the you tube problem. It was a link to a site. www.youtube/html5. html5 video player trial that you click on and once done, the videos on the you tube app started working great. They were doing the same thing as the tutorial videos prior to that. No such luck with the other web videos, at least the ones that i have tried. Hope this is enough info and understandable. You might check out the html5 site. I didn't thoroughly understand why, but it worked. You may understand it better. I am a proficient user, but far from an I.t. Pro. I have read Many posts with similar problems, but no simple solutions and the ones I did try didn't work. Speed tested well. Channel is set to auto and always different than neighboring networks, usually channel 11. Tried disabling QOS as suggested....no good. I am completely stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830/GT-S5358 is what is shown on the article. You are saying yours is "S5830i". There is an "i" at the end of the model which may be the restriction. I will contact one of our mobile associates to look into this if the answer provided does not meet your needs. Thank you.

Why does my Web Handler work with Internet Explorer, but not with Firefox

I am trying to develop a web page that uses the Simile Timeline (http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/wiki/Timeline) with data from SQL Server.
In initial testing of my timeline I tested it with Example.xml, a static XML file in the correct format to be event data. I wrote the following in the appropriate place within mytimeline's Javascript: -

This worked fine with both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I then changed the assignment to
var WebHandler = "GDBTimeline.ashx?Type=Family&Userid=" + getControlValue("input", "hdnUser");
so that invoked a web handler that could look up the SQL database and return the XML that I wanted, and wrote this web handler.
This works perfectly with Internet Explorer, but with FireFox the timeline band is blank. Yet when I examine the http traffic with Fiddler2 (http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/) I see that with either browser there is a response from URL
/GDB_pages/GDBTimeline.ashx?Type=Family&Userid=robertb
that returns the XML that it is supposed to.
I have previously used web handlers with Firefox before, with no problems. The Fiddler results conclusively show that the web handler is invoked, and returns the appropriate XML, and this XML is identical to the XML from the static test with Example.xml.
Where do I start looking for answers? I don't even know if this is a Simile problem, a Firefox problem, or an ASP.NET problem.

Problem solved. The issue: Content Type was not correct.
Visual Studio creates the web handler with dummy code like this: -

I wrote a database query that set a string variable to the XML I wanted: -

This works with Internet Explorer. However it's not strictly correct: to make it work with other browsers as well,
context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"
should be
context.Response.ContentType = "text/xml"
It now works with IE, FF, and Chrome, and presumably all others.

Solution update: Disabled XULRunner 1.9.1 extension from Add-ons > Extensions. Problem solved.
