Why wont my gift card be recognized?

I'm trying to redeem a gift card, but the back looks different than the one they show for instruction, and itunes does not recognize the card number. It's a couple years old. Do these things expire?

It looks like they used to expire (per this 2007 discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1236050) but I don't see any mention of it now (http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE) Still, if it is an old format number I could see there might be problems getting it recognized. I'd contact customer service.

What happens when you try to do the IAP, are you getting any error messages ?
If you are also getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you will need to do so (these are user-to-user forums) :

Why do multipack gift cards not all activate upon purchase?

I purchased a multi pack of itunes cards at the grocery store. I know two of the cards worked, but one of them failed to activate. I spoke with the store, they say when the item is scanned all the cards should activate. In this case, they did not. Now, I am out 15 dollars, because I no longer have the receipt from the grocery store from Christmas. Should not all the cards activate? If all the cards are in a package from Apple, should Apple not have a record and be able to activate the card that failed to activate? I do not understand why itunes gift cards should come with a Buyer Beware warning.

No, I am a US citizen living overseas, but I am going through a VPN and I am using a US-based credit card. I have no problem purchasing apps, just purchasing gift certificates. I'm going to try gifting the app to the person I am purchasing for until Apple straightens this out for me.

Why not use gift card for family sharing?

This family sharing feature seems great. But long gone are the days where I had a credit card on file. These days I only use gift cards. But system really wants me to have a credit card to activate this family sharing? Has anyone been able to do with pure gift cards?

In order to set up Family Sharing the family organizer must have a credit card or debit card to use for billing. See this article -

If a family member, including the organizer makes a purchase and has gift or store credit, that purchase is first billed to that credit. Family members purchases may not be billed to the organizers store credit unless they are the organizer. See this article -

Why are my PXI cards not recognized by Windows or MAX?

I have a PXI-1045 chassis connected to a PC through MXI-4. When I turn the chassis and PC on with a PXI card in slot 2, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." appears, and the PXI card is not recognized (it is scene by Windows as an unidentifiable PCI Devices, though I have a DAQmx installed).
More details:
Windows XP
LabVIEW 8.0 installed
TestStand 4.0 installed
Latest DAQmx 8.XX installed
NI Scope installed
NI CAN installed
MXI-4 PCI card installed in PC and recognized by Windows (as PCI-PCI bridge, and MXI-4 Device)
I identified PXI chassis 1045 in MAX and on subsequent boot up saw that MAX complained about pxisys or some other ini file (in the chassis status area of the screen) so I configured it as 'other' then put in the PXI-resorce CD and selected the ini file for PXI-1045, MAX no longer complains about pxisys and instead says the chassis is configured properly
If I have nothing but the PXI MXI-4 card installed in the PXI system and boot up the chassis then the PC, I get no errors
If I have a card in slot two (I've tried PXI-6509 Industrial Digital IO, PXI-2569 Relay Module, and PXI-5102 Digital Oscilliscope) and boot the chassis then PC, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." shows up when Windows boots and Windows sees a PCI Device but can't identify any drivers for it.

Can you post a screenshot of the problem? Are you switching on the chassis first or the PC? Please make sure that you switch ON chassis and then boot the PC. This typically happens when you have a corrupted installation. I would suggest downloading the latest version of driver from here and re-installing it.
Please uninstall all the driver software from computer before installing the new software.

Are you able to take it back to the shop that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? I am trying to gift a 9.99 album to someone. I have $14.09 left on my balance form a redeemed gift card. When I try to gift the item, it tells me that Payment Information (is) Required. What gives? I don't care to tie a credit card on my iTunes account. That's why I use gift cards.

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

After you restored it to factory settings, did you restore as new or from a backup? If it was from a backup, I'd try restoring as new to see if, without any of your previous data, the issue persists:

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.
