Why would an Oracle synonym return a different number of rows to the underlying table?
Hi, I was doing some queries in EBS to extract data and I realized I was missing a lot of data.
After investigating I realized:
select count(*) from apps.XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES;
35459
select count(*) from xla.XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES;
1122337
The apps.XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES is a synonym for xla.XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES.
The synonym creation code is:
CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM "APPS"."XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES" FOR "XLA"."XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES";
I've check and there is a dba_policy applied. The predicate is 1 = 1.
With this predicate shouldn't all the rows be retrieved? What else can be filtering the rows retrieved in the synonym?
The database version is: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
Thank you,
Carla
Carla,
This is how we find the answer to your question, so maybe this would save you time next time
- Login to MOS website
- Search for XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES AND SYNONYM
- You will see (Why are there differences in SELECT * FROM XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES and SELECT * FROM XLA.XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES ? (Doc ID 946314.1)) second in the list
Thanks,
Hussein

Why would Safari try to insert an s, as in https, into the facebook log-in page. "Safari can't connect to this secure page." I've checked preferences and cannot find a reason for this change to the regular facebook address. Safari 5.0.5 on MacbookAir. I can't even download the updated software.
If you leave your session idle for a while, the site might log you out due to inactivity, but... I wouldn't trust that, either.
Usually your bank will have a link, menu, or some other way to log out. Certainly that is the best thing if you can do it. Sometimes if a site is not fully compatible with Firefox its style rules will result in a jumbled layout. You can disable all the style rules and view the site in a plainer layout to see whether you can spot the missing link. To do that:
tap the Alt key > View menu > Page Style > No Style
(The tab will remain unstyled going forward. You can use the same menu to reapply the page's style sheets later.)
Also, if you want to break the connection between Firefox and your banking session, you can clear your cookies for the bank site. This won't necessarily have any effect on your banking session ''on the server'' but should make it impossible for someone to use your Firefox to do anything in that session. To clear cookies for the current site, you can use the Page Info dialog. Here are 3 ways to open it:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* click the padlock on the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then reload the page and the site should behave as though you are not logged in. -
Why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel?
I posted my problem earlier today, but re-reading it maybe I didn't explain myself well enough.
My main question is: "why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel ?". This is occuring after I have selected my media from the Tasks Panel and placed them in correct order in the Timeline/Sceneline. I knew something was wrong when I could see that the clips were not indicating their right length when viewed in the (expanded) timeline. They were compressed into just a few seconds, whereas the clips should have been at least 5 minutes. I ran the clips in the monitor and sure enough they ran too fast, with a lot of jerking movements.
The 3 video clips I am trying to make into a HD PAL video were taken with my Nokia N8 mobile video camera. These are in mp4 format. Can this present a problem ? Note that when I play these individual HD clips on my computer in (Windows Media Player) they run fine.
After I placed the clips in my Project Panel (or before in the Organize Workspace), I have perforned no change or manipulation of the clips. They are in their original state.
Just too confirm that the clips did seem to be compressed, I burnt a DVD, the resultant video ran in a matter of seconds.
Help would be greatly appreciated.Yes, that is what the problem was.
Although the video camera on my Nokia N8, mobile was capturing at 25fps,
for some reason once transfered over to PrE9 (via file transfer), the clip was interpreted as 500fps. Once in Interpret Footage I was able to change the fps to 25.
Thanks for the help. -
Why would I be getting this update if I am not, to the best of my knowledge, anyone's ARD client? I have not installed ARD in this computer, but am constantly getting permissions repair messages regarding remote management from Disk Utility. Very weird...
Yes, it's annoying but the messages are innocuous and you may ignore them. They will be repeated every time you repair permissions. The ARD client was installed by Software Update at some point in the past.
You don't need to repair permissions unless you've received a permissions error message from OS X. -

Hi. I have a problem. Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
7 years ago when i was learning how to query my teacher told me that is possible to creata some kind of report where results could be combined in 1 view(report) witch in different variable could have different number of rows.
I just remember that there is needed to use group by function and some join?
Please help
In link there is a sample sample view
I need to combine Table A using D variable with Table B to become Wynik(result)
Tables create
CREATE TABLE "TABELA_A" ( A NUMBER,B NUMBER,C NUMBER,D NUMBER ) ;
INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (123, 1, 70, 999)
INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (123, 2, 80, 999)
INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (234, 1, 100, 111)
INSERT INTO "TABELA_A" (A, B, C, D) VALUES (456, 1, 10, 222)
CREATE TABLE "TABELA_B" ( D NUMBER,E VARCHAR2(255),F NUMBER ) ;
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'A', 1);
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'B', 1);
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'B', 3);
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (999, 'C', 1);
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (111, 'A', 1);
INSERT INTO "TABELA_B" (D, E, F) VALUES (111, 'C', 2);
And to become result - in picture

Different number of rows for different columns in JTable
hi
I need to create a JTable with different number of rows for different columns...
Also the rowheight should be different in each column...
say there is a JTable with 2 columns... Col1 having 5 rows and column 2 having 2 rows...
The rowHeight in Col2 should be an integer multiple of Rowheight in Col1
how do I do this ??
can anybody send me some sample code ?????
thanx in advanceHow about nesting JTables with 1 row and many columns in a JTable with 1 column and many rows.
Or you could leave the extra columns null/blank.
You could use a GridBagLayout and put a panel in each group of cells and not use JTable at all.
It would help if you were more specific about how you wanted it to appear and behave. -

I have used pagination to display the report data.I have used page break.I want to display 10 records on first page and from second page onwards I want to display 25 records on all remaining pages.
I followed this link to show 25 records for all page. "http://www.sqlchick.com/entries/2010/9/11/displaying-fixed-number-of-rows-per-ssrs-report-page.html". Now suggest me how display 10 records only on first page having 25 from second page onwards.Hi mukesh_harkhani,
According to your description, you want to insert page break for different number of rows, display 10 rows on the first page and 25 rows on the following pages. After testing the issue in my SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 environment, we can use the
method below to achieve your requirement:
In your scenario, right-click the group which contains the expression: =CEILING(RowNumber(Nothing)/25) to open the Group Properties dialog box.
Modify the original expression to the following in the Group on textbox:
=Floor((RowNumber(Nothing)+14)/25)
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong

iPhone A recieves a text message, and iphone B (which has a different number but on the same account) recieves the same message that was intended for iPhone A. However, when iPhone B recieves a text (intended for iPhone B) iPhone A will not recieve it. This only happend after the new update (IOS 6).
It can be done, but you will have to sign in to your account on her itunes to updated the apps. Try these instructions:

SQL> We see that in both the queries, the no. of column returned are different. In first it is 4 and in 2nd it returns 6.
Now ask yourself, what is the use of this query, and how I am suppose to use the values returned and also what is the purpose for each value.
Once you have the answers for these questions, the requirement becomes more clearer, doubts vanish and more often you can do things yourself. -
Hi,
I want to center two different text row that are in the same table but one on the center and the other one on the left. I put a <span> tag hoping that it has been overwhelmed the table's class properties The .bottomsel's font-family and the .Cig84's font-family and colour work but the text-align don't: they're both on the left.
These are my source and CSS codes:

How to find out what the underlying table/query of a form in Oracle Apps.
Hi
I am trying to find out who owns the underlying objects of a query when a user runs the Transactions > Line_Items form for Receivables .
I have selected Help > Record History but I get a message Record History not available here.
The query is running slow and I'd like to see if the objects have been analyzed lately.
Thanks
AndyHi
I should have said in the ticket that this is version 11.5.10
It was close to giving me the answer I need. It gives me the following details. Unfortunately it doesn't give me the underlying sql. I hhave tried using v$session and sys.v_$sql but the sql is over 1000 characters long so I dont get to see the table/object being referenced.
I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks
Andy

The following code
var comp = new Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Wmi.ManagedComputer();
var bob = comp.Services;
Only returns the 2008R2 instances on my machine not the sql 2012 instances.
Oddly the ServerInstances includes all the instances.
This means I can't get the StartupParameters for the instance.
I've checked and its definitely using the sql 2012 version of SMO. All services are using the same user account (Network Service)
Can anyone think why this would be.

Hello Simon ,
For SMO assemblies : the version is 11 for SQL Server 2012 , and 10 for SQL Server 2008 R2 ( and not 10.5 , so when you have SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2 , the SMO assemblies for 2008 are replaced by the SMO assemblies for 2008 R2 ). I faced this
problem when I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 aside a left 2008 install.
On my current computer , I have only 2012 and 2014 instances and I have no problem.
To check the version of the assemblies ( Microsoft.Smo.SqlWmiManagement mainly ) in your Visual Studio , click on the name of this assembly and look at the Version : it should be 11.0.0 ( for SQL Server 2012 ).
Yesterday , I have written a little application to view the instances and services on my computer.

CommonCls.AppWriteLog is only a method which has 2 parameters , the 2nd one is the string to write in a application log , the 1st if true , the current datetime is written before the content of the 1st parameter. It is useful to simulate a hardcopy of the screen
, especially when the application is a console one.
I have not tested to write the startup parameters but it was working in a previous application
As you can see , I have 3 instances , 1 SQL Server 2012 and 2 SQL Server 2014 ( but one is "ill" it's why the startup of the SQL Server service is disabled , it will be repaired when I will reinstall W7 or install W8 )
I don't see any reason why you are not seen the 2012 instances except if the version of your assembly is 10 instead 11 ( a little tip :when you are adding a reference , in the box after a browse , you are sorting the names of the
assemblies in the selection box , as the assemblies 2008/2008 R2 are appearing before the assemblies 2012 , it' minimizing the risk of confusion of assemblies and try to increase the visibility of the full path by double-clicking the title of the Path
column , if you don't do that , you should not see the version number included in the path name ).
Don't hesitate to post again for more help or explanations.
Have a nice day

Query returning different number of rows standalone vs insert statement
Hi,
We are using Oracle 10g. We are facing a issue where a SELECT inserts 26294 rows when used with a insert statement. The same select (cut-and-paste) when executed standalone, returns only 60 rows. Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance,
Hari Narayanan

Thanks for your responses. Just as an additional info, MELLON_POSITION_RECON is one hell of a view - not written by me :) - with unions and inline queries.
