Width of page

If you view the site here the professor would like the content of the page to display in a wider format.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here's your new code/css. I don't know what youre going to do with the masthead as it will need redesigning to take account of the extra width.

Why can't you adjust column width in pages for ipad?

It's just one of the many, many features that have been removed. It all appears to be deliberate, not an oversight. Leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu.

  • In att yahoo mail my left column with the inbox ,etc extends the width of page and I can't bring it back to the left.

in the new version of att yahoo mail that I have been using for weeks for some reason the left column which shows inbox etc extends the width of a page and I am not able to see the emails. I cannot pull the column back to the left. If I switch to ATT yahoo classic it is fine, but not in the newer ATT yahoo mail.

  • How can I get a header image to span full width of page?

    Hi All
I have tried just about every thing to get this image to span the full width of the page, its fine in design mode but when I view it in preview its centred with white space either side.

Thanks for your reply,  I have treied that also with similar results.

  • Width of page in Adobe Muse

I have started a website for an art group I belong to. It has been a win-win situation, as I'm practicing and feeling very confident that I can manage a nice site with Muse, the group are very happy with the site, and impressed with my ability.  It's been great- Thank you Muse Team!
Here is a link: Please feel free to take a look and offer suggestions.

But I have a question about the ideal width of the page size. At an Adobe Creative Event, Terry White, said that it is best to stick with the default size of the web page, so I did that which is 960.  When I view the page on my Macbook Pro, it seems like it could be a lot wider. I'm guessing that is because my display is set to 1440 x 900.  So I'm wondering if any of you ever make pages any wider than 960, or can I up the size a little, say to 1100 or so?  What about tablets and phones?
I would like to put more art on the member's gallery page, perhaps change the page size to 1200 wide and put 3 drawings across. Will that work or will it cause a lot of viewrs to do a lot of scrolling side to side
    Elaine

That's a nice looking site, Elaine. Well done.
This link may help you decide to widen your website a bit:
    http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp
It clearly shows the trends to larger monitors. That being said, you definitely don't want people encountering horizontal scroll bars when they come to your site. I would say you could safely expand to 1024 or possibly 1200 to accomodate members' artwork.
A suggestion for you...when you go to the Gallery page and click on the various members' names, it scrolls down nicely to their respective part of the gallery. But then you have to manually scroll up or down. You can make the menu of members' names "sticky" so that it stays with the viewer as they scroll. They can then easily move to different parts of the page without all the scrolling.
For a small example of that see this prototype page I'm working on:

Unfortunately, I'm not at home right now and can't remember the exact terminology of what that's called or how to accomplish that. When I get home later today I can follow up here with instructions if someone else hasn't.
    Hope that helps!

  • Reducing width of page

I want to reduce the width of the page from 12'' to 8". I want to keep the length and the layout the same. How do i reduce only the width and keep the format if the page the same?

What do you mean by "keep the format of the page the same"? You are drastically changing the aspect ratio. Something has to give...

  • Image won't use full width of page in Standard Report

Using LabVIEW 2012 in both Windows XP and Win7
Specifically, I'm trying to use a cluster control  with strings and numerics for a generic report page.  I stuff the strings and numerics with the info that's needed to create the desired page content.
I am creating a standard report.  The use of Word or Excel is not considered due to compatibility issues when either NI or Microsoft release version upgrades.
I have tried setting the report margins as well as leaving them at default; the results are the same.
I set the header text and footer text to indicate where the report generation function believes the margins to be.  Both header and footer honor the margin settings and appear on the report page as they are expected.
When I "append control image to report" using the reference to the cluster control, the resulting image is 6.2" wide and hugs the left margin regardless of what size the control actually is.  If the control is widened, it is rescaled to 6.2" wide.  I tried using picture and array controls; results are the same.  I tried using the "append front panel image to report"; same results.  The "Alignment" input seems to have no effect.  The issue seems to be with the way images are handled in the report generation.
Oddly enough, the height seems to behave quite normally.  If the object is too large in height, it is simply truncated at the bottom margin.
I tried using landscape orientation which functionally exhibits the same issue; object hangs on left margin and will not fill the width of the page.
I tried HTML which centers the image on the page but doesn't honor margins and prints info at top and bottom that I can't get rid of.
I contacted NI support and generated an active support question reference# 7369484.  So far, no solution.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Similar problem using LV2011. I have to print labels on a 100x70 mm paper without borders. No chance to scale the control image to fit.
Calculating the size of the initial picture (480x360 pixels) scaled at 96 DPI would result in a size of 127x95 mm.
Actually the height printed is exactly this, but the width shrinked to about 45-50 mm.
A part of the solution might be to create an image (use 'create/invoke node/get image') and send this to the printer (how to do this?). Actually the HTML report creates an 96 DPI image together with the html page.
In my case I should create an image of at least 150 DPI (300 or 600 DPI prefered). But there are no options in either the 'get image' or append control image to standard report to set the resolution.
    Bad thing!

  • Full width web page?

I have created and have up and running a great website (www.i-drone.co.uk)that i created with iWeb. However, the webpage is not the full width of the page? is there a way of making use of the full width of the page, without the bars either side?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can increase the width of the content portion of the page with the Inspector/Page/Layout pane:
However, the theme that you choose, Darkroom, does not scale up to larger widths because it uses a fixed width image for the spotlighted area in the center.
You could simulate that theme, except for the spotlight but taking a screenshot of the textured area and using that file for the page background. Or make the page background transparent or none and use the textured file for the browser background.

  • Increase width of page items on a web form in v11.1.2.3

    Hello
In Hyperion version 11.1.2.3 webforms, is there a way to increse the width of drop down page items in a form?
It seems that diemnsions used as pages items all reverst to on standard width, which make using the forms far less user friendly
In my case forms dispay aliases of projects and position/employee combinations where the full length of the member alias needs to be shown
    Please let me know
    Thanx
    Berndt

    Hi Paul,
I think that you have two posts for the same issue, am I correct?
Regarding your problem. Have you tried to run the rule without the variable? Put a trigger and try to "populate" a value in the specific member. This will explain if the issue is related with the variable or the member.

  • Table needs to fit full width of page

I want to insert a table that is the full width of the page and all cells equal sized. Without dragging each column wider one by one and trying to equal them out manually, is there a quick setting I can choose in the Inspector or elsewhere to just make the table fill the page width? This must be one of the most basic standard options for tables along with "Fit to contents".

Never mind. Now after struggling with it for several minutes, selecting within the table and clicking outside the table, it suddenly woke up and shows me a resize box on the right. Funny how it didn't appear without a struggle. I have this same issue with text boxes in Keynote and I still haven't gotten it to respond consistently either.

  • Width of page is 100%, but overflow

I apologize if the terminology is incorrect.
Need help quickly.. www.jacobskoglund.com is my website.
What happens is I'm able to use 100% width just fine as it re-adjusts my images correctly. But the problem is when I make my page say half of my window's width on my 15" mbp, I'm able to scroll to the right. It's as if my images get re-adjusted, but are stuck to the left side of the page. I attached two screenshots to hopefully show what I mean.
I want my website to not be able to scroll when scaled smaller.

Also you are able to visit my website to see what I mean and help make sense of it.

  • DW CS5.5 Design View Does Not Show Accurate Width of Page Compared to Browsers

    Hello
I use DW CS5.5 to make websites. The Design View in DW is not at all accurate as to the width of the page when compared to how the Browsers render the page. For example, when inserting a horizontal Spry Menu, the menu items will drop to a new line because it looks like there is not more space, In reality, as seen on the browser or Live View there is a lot more space for more list items. This makes it very hard to work on a page in DWCS5.5 because it looks way too narrow compared to the actual size. On the ruler, it looks like it is 960 px, but it isn't when seen at 100% on the browser window. It does not matter what setting I use for the page size. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. Gail

    indvik wrote:
...However it still seems odd to me that the difference is about 350 px.
That could be caused by a code error, generally DV won't be that far off.
Run your page through the validator at http://validator.w3.org to see if there aren't some issues in your html that could be causing the oddity in Design View.
If your code is clean and it's still off by that amount, something to check would be the use of both css and html attributes to control the sizing of tables and other elements. The program can get a little confused and start displaying things all over the place when you do that. I'm not sure if DW5.5 does this (I skipped that version) but DWCS4 certainly did, pretty inconsistently. One way to fix it, even though the code may validate, is to give all control to the css of the page rather than splitting some with the html.

  • PDF Export with fixed column widths ignores page break on Analysis item

    Hi experts,
we use the column width modification to define fixed column width in a analysis item. On the same Web template we want to export the whole template including the analysis item to PDF format. First of all everything worked properly, but the fixed widths have not been applied to the PDF. According to [SAP Support Note 1336188|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1336188] and additional explainations from [SDN Thread 1558536|Column Width Modification not working in Print Version; we solved the problem.
Unfortunately another problem arises. Our Analysis item delivers a big number of rows which extent multiple pages. By applying the export fix width parameter all page breaks are ignored, meaning that the analysis item is never shown completely in the PDF. We tried all parameter options of the Export Function without success. It seems that the EXPORT_FIX_WIDTH is just working for analysis items, which fit on one single page by length.
Any ideas how to solve this?

  • Bug: Null Element Width and Max Width on page item won't stay null (v3.0.1)

Well, it's pretty much what it says. I'm trying to edit a page item and remove the width and max width on the Element properties. When I remove them and hit apply it functions properly, and the page item shows up with no width or max width property set. However, if I go to edit the page item again, the Width and Max Width fields are populated (30 and 2000 respectively) again. Thus, any action which saves the item will save the unwanted values. I don't want a width and a max width on the item; it shouldn't put them back.

I think default values should only be used in a
situation where no value has previously been
    provided.
How can I tell the difference between the case where
I fetch a null value from the column because a null
value was previously saved and the case where "no
value has previously been provided"?Well, I would assume that there is something unique about the initial creation of an item versus the editing thereof (e.g. the item does not exist in the database, yet). It's only on create that you would want to provide default values, that is, when no value has previously been provided by the user. Any other time the item is edited, it already exists and any values submitted should not be overridden or replaced. Off the top of my head, this could be done with table level defaults (if all item types were to share the same defaults for all properties), or via an insert trigger. Either way, the defaults would only be applied on create, and not on edit.

  • Control Height&Width of pages in Acrobat doc

I want to reduce the size of some pages in a pdf document.
The document contains both searcheable text and pictures.
But right now some of the pictures have ended up being to large.

Sorry I used the wrong word in the first post, and there is no Edit option.
    The sentence should read:
But right now some of the pages have ended up being to large.
I am sure that Adobe would not overlook something basic like this!
If I compile a number of existing pdfs into one pdf, surely I can then standardise their size, so that one page isn't twice the size of the next?
