WIKI Editor Bug with Code Blocks!
This is a reminder of a problem that was talked lot of time and still an issue!
For example this thread:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8645bd04-474a-468f-8c0f-0f8678689437/code-block-edit-bug?forum=reportabug
and Here is a new image to show the problem again:
>> In the left you can see there is a code block without style formatting! The format messed up.
looking at the HTML code we can notice the problem!
All the style properties in regarding the code blocks disappeared
1. the main div should be like this:
<div class="reCodeBlock" style="border:1px solid #7f9db9;width:97%;overflow-y:auto;">
but it become like this:
<div class="reCodeBlock">
each line in the code in in DIV and should be:
<div style="background-color:#ffffff;">
but it become:
<div>

Is this the color problem, where all colors (not just in code) that are specified in the HTML with RGB values (decimal or hex) are lost when the article is saved in certain browsers? If so, we have found that even after the article is "fixed", if it
is later saved in certain browers it will be broken again.
I thought the fix was to replace all RGB values with standard color names. However, when the article is later saved, the standard color names can get converted back to RGB values, which get lost after another save (in the wrong browser). If this is the issue,
it has been known for some time, but gets complicated and difficult to understand fully. It is believed that using Firefox or Chrome avoids the problem, but if someone later edits the article in IE, no matter how minor the edit, the colors can still be
lost.

Web Part specific DOM Manipulation. Two identical Script Editor Web Part code blocks.
We have a script editor web part with javascript that references some jquery libraries. The code creates web part properties and hides DIV tag in the web part based on some conditions. It works great until I try to place the same exact
web part / code block on the same page twice. The way we are rolling this out we don' t users messing the code and we want the WP properties UI to be identical on both Web Parts.
Given all this.. is it possible with jquery code to perform Web Part specific DOM manipulation without any conflict with other similar Web Parts and Script editor code blocks on the page? Possible to dynamically change DIV Tag IDs, Jquery Variables
and WP Properties to have the unique web part GUID?
Possible? Any ideas would be appreciated.
demo of issue here:
http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/coeUlneNT6
Code in question:Hi,
I suggest you debug your code using IE F12 developer tools. Based on your description, you can try to add some conditions base on the web part ID.
Or you can share your full code for further research.

Help installing Allegro in Arch for use with Code::Blocks
I've tried to find the solution to my problem on the code::blocks wiki and the allegro sites and even on the ubuntu forums, but to no avail. I've installed Allegro from AUR and I've linked the libraries in codeblocks like this:
'allegro-config --libs'
But when I run an allegro .c or .cpp file this happens:
obj/Debug/main.o||In function `main':|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|3|undefined reference to `_install_allegro_version_check'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|4|undefined reference to `set_gfx_mode'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|5|undefined reference to `install_keyboard'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|6|undefined reference to `font'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|6|undefined reference to `screen'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|6|undefined reference to `textout_ex'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|7|undefined reference to `key'|
/home/glenn/Desktop/testing/main.c|8|undefined reference to `allegro_exit'|
||=== Build finished: 8 errors, 0 warnings ===|
Key words: undefined reference. I think this may have something to do with improper linking or something. But I'm a noob and I need help.Well, I just got back from the Allegro IRC room and it turns out that
'allegro-config --libs'
is incorrect. It's actually:
`allegro-config --libs`
Forgive me for not noticing!
The problem is fixed.

Wiki Editor fails with HTTP 501 when using certain tags
Hi together,
does anybody know where I can find a list of syntax elements which are not allowed in the SDN's Wiki editor (and also the Forum editor)? This is, what I found out:
<s c r i p t>
t y p e (as an attribute)
o n l o a d (as an attribute)
Apparently, those are prohibited to prevent XSS - if you try to save a Wiki page including a code snippet with the mentioned syntax elements, the session is ended with HTTP 501 ( Method not implemented'.
Thanks,
Felix
Edited by: Felix Hoefer on Jun 29, 2011 1:50 PMThanks for your reply. I did read the article and addressed that issue in the first part of my previous post. I don't think that the website where I am hosting my CRL has directory browsing permissions or that I have the ability to set them but the
point of my question was everything works using that same public website when I use a standard CA to create my certificate but does NOT work when I create the certificate using an Enterprise CA.

Hi all.
I'm using SQL Developer 3.1.07.42 for win32, windows 7.
Not sure but probably bug - Tools|Preferences|Code Editor|Display|Show Code Folding Margin works only for current worksheet.
If I open any another worksheet (no matter unshared it or not) this margin comes up even if checkbox Show Code Folding Margin is unchecked.
Is it bug or feature?I can reproduce it, but I'm not sure where the bug lies.
The worksheet and the code editor aren't the same (perhaps they should be) and the bug may be that the preference affects the current worksheet at all. The preference seems to work correctly for code editors. -
Bug with code assist and "extends"?
I get the yellow "Unresolved function" marker for any functions that exist in the base CFC, when the variable reference points to another CFC that extends it. The doc says extended CFCs are supported, is this not the case?
CFB2 plugin on Eclipse Helios, Mac 32bit Cocoa.Does your "extends" attribute also have the yellow line? If so, ColdFusion Builder is unable to locate the CFC you are extending, and therefore has no knowledge of the methods available in the parent CFC.

Bug with block diagram labels in 2013
I just reported a minor but interesting bug with the block diagram free labels in LabVIEW 2013. If you attach a free label to a structure of any kind using the gluph in the bottom right corner of the comment then resize the structure in the direction of the comment it causes the entire block diagram to resize in that direction.

Kudos are always welcomekbbersch wrote:
I would disagree that the behavior is expected. If the comment is not immediately next to the structure, but is a distance away, the block diagram does not resize if the comment is not attached to the structure but it does resize when the comment is attached. I would expect the attachment arrow to simply get shorter unless the structure is resized so large that the comment has to move so as not to interfere.
Expected behavior? Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
I am afraid the problem here does lie with your expectations. When you resize a structure and the new space is occupied by anything other than wires then LV will use "Make Space" to create room. Make space obeys neither the laws of man or nature, it simply gets the job done with all the subtlety of a steamroller. I believe if there is something preventing Make Space from doing its job then NI engineers are automatically dispatched to your office with sledgehammers to fix the problem.
I do, however, share your wish for a world where you do not expect LV to wreak untold havoc on your BD when attempting to make space or "clean up". Here they should probably treat the connecting arrow more like a wire and less like a rigid object. I'd say bug myself. -
How do i obtain the compilers for Code Blocks? (OSX Lion)
I dont know how formiliar any of you guys are with code blocks, a C++ coding program. I have down loaded the 10.05 version of Code Blocks on my machine, and when ever i try to "build and compile" nothing happens.

If you don't want to install GCC without downloading Xcode, take a look at Kenneth Reitz's GCC installer for Mac OS X.
os-x-gcc-installer
That's a cool project. But the author actually suggests downloading Apple's Command Line tools instead: http://www.kennethreitz.com/xcode-gcc-and-homebrew.html
Apparently, you can install only the command line tools and not the rest of Xcode. I didn't know you could do that. I've got the full Xcode. I left a suggestion on the web site that he build a package for the latest version of GCC instead. -
Hi all,
since I have updated my MacBook Pro (early 2011 model) with 10.8.3, I have a blocking bug with Adobe Lightroom (either 4.3 or 4.4) for launching prints on my Canon iPF5000 (firmware 1.33, either MacOS driver 2.67 or 3.06, connection through USB).
When I was under 10.8.2 with the Canon's driver 3.06, everything works fine.
Basically, after clicking Print a Copy or Print... in Lightroom, the file spooled to the driver stays in MacOS printer queue. Within the printer queue window, the printer is in pause mode, and each time I try to resume the printing processing, the driver put it on hold immediately. When I look into the history on the Console, the driver complains about an unknown error... The data stay within the driver, as my Canon iPF5000 "Data" led indicator stays unlit.
My print settings are 600dpi or 300dpi, print sharpening Standard/Glossy, 16 bit output. And Color managed by printer (because I let the Canon driver managing my B&W prints).
Strangely enough, when I launch a print from Preview application, the drivers does its job and sends it successfully to my Canon iPF5000...
As this was driving me crazy, I have tried a clean install of MacOS 10.8.3 (as 10.8.2 is no more available from Apple servers...). No success, same blocking issue.
Eventually, I've found the workaround: using the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview. You have to click on "Print..." in Lightroom in order to see the driver settings window, and then check the "Preview before printing" option in the main tab of the driver settings. Then I can preview my Lightroom printing work and then launch successfully my printing.
Simple workaround, but very strange bug...
For me, the root cause could be multiple and not very obvious.
Is it Mac OS 10.8.3 ? But why can I make prints from Preview application for instance, and not from LR ?
Is it the Canon driver ? But this lead me to the same question.
Is it Lightroom ? Does it send corrupted data that make the driver crazy but not the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview ?
So, if any user of Canon iPF5000 + Mac OS 10.8 + Lightroom is around, please share your experience.
And if any Apple, Adobe or Canon engineer read this, please try to fix this.
Happy printing,
AmauryIt's different how applications write print data. If you use Advanced Preview from the driver then it calculates already the output which afterwards is only sent to the printer.
Have you once tried to print with fast graphic process switched off (option of advanced settings)?
Hope it helps

Comments bug for colors in code block
When a forum topic has a Code block with a comment the line is colored green but the color persists for all subsequent lines as well.
For an example please see the following topic:
My solution to the OpenFileDialog problems (C#)As far as I know the code formatting/coloring was taken over from a different place, so it did never work 100%.
Want to take this opportunity though to put a little pressure on improving this code formatting
Why not implement a parameter for this formatting where the programming language can be specified?
Of course, maybe no time planned for this - but put it on your ToDo-List -

Code::Blocks and gdb's Debug Attach to process; crash
Hello!
I've just started using Code::Blocks and very happy with it, but there is one problem: say I have a binary file with debugging symbols, then I try to attach to it using Code::Blocks (Debug>Attach to process); when I enter the PID and press "OK" button - IDE crashes.
Here is the stacktrace of codeblocks itself from gdb:

I've just wrote a simple helloworld in C, added getchar() to wait, compiled it with "-g" flag and tried to attach to it with this IDE. Tried on 2 machines, different binaries: same result - IDE crashes. Am I doing something wrong, or this is a problem with WxWidgets/Code::Blocks?
My packages are: wxgtk 2.8.12.1-3, codeblocks 10.05-2 and gdb 7.4-1.
Last edited by dontbugme (2012-04-24 02:19:16)Are you running on an x86_64 architecture? If so I have a pacman Code::Blocks package which is the current SVN I could upload somewhere for you..
If not, check: Here to download and make the latest SVN version. There is a patch you have to apply on that page and also you need to make the build using the makepkg "-fpermissive" option.
Why do you want this SVN version (version 7932)? Well, it's current as of April 14 this month. The C::B 10.05 version is 2010, 5th month. So way out of date. There have been no official builds since then so you want to be using SVN until there is.
I don't know if using the SVN version would fix your issue but even if not: it has a host of other enhancements and fixes. -

}There is a gross misconception among the new and learning programmers that a lot of code is good and once you put that last close scope in place that things are wonderful because you have all the code down...
Please repeat this: NO, short debugged runs and incremental builds are better.
As a matter of fact, that is so important, go back and say it again and again until it really truly sinks in.
This concept is really pounded into your soul when you program in assembler--probably an ailment of the new generation of programmers, they never have had to do assembler or machine coding--but any time you get more than about 20 lines of code that hasn't been checked for bugs, you should start thinking... "Oh, do I really have the skills and patience to go back and debug (yes, actually use the debugger to step through it all.) that big of mess?" The biggest project is just like eating an elephant, you do it one small bite at a time over as long a time as it takes--you don't cook half the elephant and sit down and expect to eat it in one meal; neither do you sit down and decide to code a whole program and then debug it. You just don't have the skill to do it.
When you modify someone else's code, the same is true--small changes and debug as you change. Making all the changes you want, then debugging just runs into a huge error file of related problems that are basically indiscernible from each other because many of them are probably related.
Most of the request for "Help, I cannot get this to run." Also contain the words: "I just finished coding..." That statement in and of itself is one of the great flawed concepts that anyone can have--coding is complete when you have an acceptable release candidate, and then only until you decide or are asked to make further changes.
Work in small blocks of code and incrementally build a project--your frustration levels will be much less. And as you gain skill, increase the size of the code blocks (I had a friend in college that never had 5 consecutive lines of code compile--ever! He works for MS now.) and get to know your debugger. Your debugger is your friend, if you've not been introduced to your debugger, then get acquainted soon! Like maybe before you even try to cut another piece of code.
On the other side of things... cheer up, we've all been there and learned the lessons... some lessons just come harder than others... make your life less frustrating, it's a lot more fun and enjoyable. -
Code::Blocks won't run
./codeblocks: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: wrong ELF class:ELFCLASS64
I have wxGTK installed, which provides that library. But why is Code::Blocks complaining? I installed them both from 64-bit repos. And I can't find any lib32s with that file.
Please help! Thanks =]It looks like an i686 package has been uploaded to the Arch x86_64 repos.... Strange, because I built it on a x86_64 machine which has no lib32 stuff on it but maybe someone else uploaded one over mine.
The correct way to deal with this is to file a bug report. There should be no need to install lib32 packages.
Edit: Who does "pacman -Qi codeblocks" say is the packager? -
Help in running Code::Blocks on Mac OSX. Should I use something else?
I'm starting to learn programming and can't seem to get Code::Blocks running on my lap top. Terminal says "Can't execute binary file." I'm trying to build the first "Hello World" C++ program but it would not build or run. Sometimes I get the message that it cannot access folder also.
Here's my code:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()

What C++ software do you recommend to start? Should I use any other than Code::Blocks?As far as text editors, TextEdit will work, but as far as I know, you will constantly run into issues with formatting, spell-check, and other things. If you are guilty of "Which Button Do I Press?" then my first choice is likely not for you.
If you are comfortable using the "Terminal" app, then I suggest using EMACS, (or just emacs). There is a built-in tutorial, and it is a very powerful editor, although for a non command line user it can be daunting, as most of the formatting and editing commands are all control characters (so regular characters are always entered as text). Emacs will do nice highlighting of various language elements just like XCode does. vi is another command line editing tool available on every version of UNIX. Emacs comes with Mac OS/X, as does vi. I have no idea if vi helps with programming as the first thing I do when I start to work on any Unix or Linux box is copy over some version of emacs, so i don't use it except sparingly.
You can also continue to use XCode to edit the source files, as it does a nice job as a WYSIWYG editor and prompts you with help along the way. Just keep a terminal window open to use the command line to compile and link your program, but edit it in XCode and do a SAVE before you switch back to the terminal window.
I also use BBEdit from Bare Bones, and some people like TextWrangler. There are at least a dozen other text editors out there that have features you can enable for programming. Do a google search for Mac OSX text editors and you'll see what I mean.
I advise AGAINST using TextEdit, unless you set the file to "Plain Text". Also, don't use a .txt extension. Use .c, .cc, .ccp, .m, .mm, .js, or whatever the compiler expects to see for a specific language. Binaries will nearly always have a .o extension, and the final binary depends on the language, the linker and what options you provide. The default for c is a.out (or at least it used to be).
You will also want to learn how to use "make", but that is another discussion.
For starters, remember that "man" is your friend. If you want to look up information on Unix, and the command line on the Mac is talking to Unix, aka Darwin. Type "man man" for help getting started with the man command, and "man make" to get started with make. Note at the end of most man pages the section that says "See also", as this tells you about related commands.
