Hi, I ordered my T400 with 32bit verison of Vista business but I now need to switch to 64bit version - does anybody have experience in trying it?
Or do I have to buy new Win Vista 64bit?

No, the serial number is tied to the version/license you purchased. Can't you acquire the software in the same way that your students have to?

Did you register it with Apple? If not, you would have had to write it down. Once the device goes out of wifi or if the thief turns wifi off...its gone. All they have to do is restore it as new, you wont be able to detect it again. Sounds bleak I know but its hard to get it back once its gone...no matter what Apple says.

Will a Pro 1.5 serial number work with a CS4 upgrade?

I have 11 hours to decide whether or not to buy this CS4 upgrade. I have premiere pro 1.5 and a legit serial number for it. It says you just need a legit serial number for an earlier version, but I wanted to make sure that my pro 1.5 serial will work!

Provided the Premiere 1.5 is a full version it will work - so will Encore 1.5 full.
I used both of these when I had CS4. with CS5 only the Premiere will work - Encore has to be CS2, it seems

Upgrade from PageMaker to InDesign. What version is best and will old serial number work?

I'd like to upgrade from PageMaker 6.5 to InDesign. Should I wait for InDesign C S5. Will InDesign C S5 support PageMaker? Or should I upgrade to InDesign C S4? And if I have an old serial number for PageMaker 6.5, how can I complete the upgrade? I understand the older PageMaker serial numbers are no longer recognized.

I understand that Adobe is already selling InDesign CS5 and therefore you would have no choice if you want to upgrade. I would think that the easiest way of finding if your PM serial number applies for an upgrade is to try buying an upgrade. You don't need to complete the purchase if you don't want to.

Serial number works once and then invalid. Help!

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Vista 64-bit. I've purchased two different Photoshop CS4 Extendeds off of ebay and both have had this same problem. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I install photoshop, enter the serial number, all works fine. The next time I open up photoshop, it says that the serial number is no longer valid. I tried calling adobe the first time and they said that the number I had given them was invalid, yet it worked the first time. It's like I use it once and then the activation or whatever won't let me enter it again. I'm not sure what to do! Once you enter in a valid serial number, it shouldn't keep asking me for a new one. Incredibly frustrating!!!

Buying Photoshop on eBay is throwing money away. You are almost always going to get a pirated copy, and will usually find that it cannot be registered.
Buy a real copy from a legitmate vendor and it might be cheaper in the long run.

Acrobat Pro 9 will not accept serial number

When I install Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 x64 I recieved the error message invalid serial number. I have called and verified that the number is valid. This serial number is part of the CS 5 Design suite. The application will install in the trail mode but will not license. I have used the CD and downloaded the application from the adobe web site.

OK I have figured it all out.
You buy Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design premium Student and Teacher edition.
You go to the Order Fulfillment page http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/order_fulfillment.html
You click on "Get you serial number"
(log in if you aren't already)
You enter all the information and attach your student ID etc, selecting your product as the design premium, and you get a support request raised. Within a few days you get a serial number for CS5 Design Premium (mine took 7 minutes to get).
But you need to repeat this process, entering all the same information, but choose Acrobat 9 Professional as the product. It then sends you a serial number on the second case you raised.
By this time, I had installed Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, so I entered the serial number in and it all worked, then I clicked on Help - Registration and it all went through okay.

Re installing Photoshop CS4 on an upgraded computer and it will not accept the serial number. Unable to deactivate Photoshop before upgrading computer due to hardware failure. Note that Adobe Photoshop CS4 New Install Bundle package consists of the new Photoshop CS4 Upgrade bundled together with the qualifying product, in this case an Adobe Photoshop CS2 License. I have tried both the CS2 and CS4 Serial numbers and both have not worked.

FCS2 Will NOT Accept Serial Number of FCS

Here's my dilemma:
I have been running FCS HD for what seems like an eternity. I have a G5 (non-Intel) dual 2G running OS 10.4.11. I purchased a Panasonic HPX-170 to start shooting HD. FCS HD will NOT accept native video files from the P2 cards, so I looked into FCS 2 and it WILL accept the files (through "log and capture"). So I bought an upgrade copy (from HD to 2). I took two days to install it, now it won't accept the serial number from my HD version. I've been told that it should work even thought the HD version is an upgrade from FCP 3. They're all retail versions (it even says "retail" on the FCP 3 disc envelope and on the FCS HD installation instructions for the DVD Studio Pro and Motion installation guides).
I have all the original discs and serial numbers for all three versions (not pirated), so I'm not sure why this isn't working.
I forgot this part: when I first installed FCS 2, it accepted the serial numbers and opened. The next time I tried to start the program, a small dialog box popped up and asked for the serial numbers again, and that's when it wouldn't accept them.
Any suggestions? Do I need to reinstall the entire suite?

OK, here's what my disc envelopes/install booklets say:
Final Cut Pro 3.0 Retail, then the serial number. There's also a QT Pro serial number.
FINAL CUT PRO HD UPGRADE FROM FCP, then the serial number, along with a QT Pro serial number, and MOTION RETAIL and DVD STUDIO PRO 3 RETAIL discs, both with serial numbers.
FINAL CUT STUDIO 2 UPG FROM FCS, then the serial number.
I'm not sure if there were any other "upgrades" or other steps in between because I can't find any other discs or manuals, so I'm pretty sure that's all I had.
I just did a total uninstall using FCS Remover and made sure all the files were gone according to Apple's uninstall instruction, then tried to reinstall FCS 2, but when it asked for the previous serial number, it wouldn't accept it. I tried both the FCP 3 and FCS serial numbers and nether worked.
I'm lost...

CS2 serial number working

The news of the free CS2 came just at the right time when I could really use it. When I first installed CS2 it wouldn't accept the "Program Files (x86)" folder. OK I got around that but then when loading Photoshop it said the user name, organization, or serial number is invalid, then shuts down. Has anyone else had this happen? Worked a way around it?

CS2 is not Vista compatible. You need to upgrade.
And, once again, this is not correct. CS2 is not officicially supported for Vista, but, for most people, runs quite well.

Why won't my serial number work?

I'm trying to set up adobe photshop cs5 extended (student and teacher edition) and my serial number will not work. It will take the numbers but not the letters so when i try to type it in I'm leaving two serial number boxes open and i can't move on. Aperture will not retain serial number when quitting,

I have A NSF version from 09, it has worked all this time until I had to rebuild my drive the old fashion way, I can not find an Aperture System ID on my new drive, I do have the serial number still, but no disc.

How did you transfer Aperture to your new drive? If you did not reinstall from the CD, try if reinstalling Aperture will help. Since you do no longer have the CD, download the Trial installer. You can unlock it with your serial number.

After running the Trial installer go immediately to Software update in the -menu, and only after updating to the most recent version launch Aperture and enter your registration code to unlock the Trial. Then launch it by double clicking your Aperture Library or clicking the Aperture icon. Run the installer from an administrator account.

Creative suite production studio after effects will not accept serial number

I have had this program installed on my XP 32 bit machine for years. I have never tried AE and need to create an alpha channel for a video clip. When I opened the program, it asked me for the serial number. I typed the serial number on my software case and it said it was invalid. What to do? I cannot afford to upgrade for more reasons than just the software. I will have hardware issues with newer versions.

Support is wrong. Only they can fix serail number issues since only they have access to the databases. Try again and request a different operator.
