Window.orientation works incorrectly

window.orientation returns only "0" (Portrait and upside down) or "90" (turn left and right) on iPad Viewer. But in the Safari all works correctly! Why?
Try this example

the iOS webkit (webcontent viewer) has many disabilities compared to mobile safari (they are two very different things) I haven't used the orientation property myself but if it requires you to request the method through a "node" it will require hard coding to work in the webkit. Its worth taking it to an apple developer forum to see what is actually supported to call through the webviewer.

My computer is an HP DV6930US running Fresh Windows Vista 64bit, then SP2 and IE9 and Java 10....The only installed is Norton 360...I have a lot of problems with this computer and need to restore it to its original state before it started to go crazy...Giving me a lot of trouble ifgx display drivers, usb port s not working, wifi not working, etc...

I tries to run IE9 in 32bit or in 64bit but it is the same..others web pages are working ok.... I have Screen Shots of erros in case that HP interest them..
Please help to fix the problem in order to download the proper drivers for my HP pavillion...

Thanks for your reply...I was installing Firefox..installtion is finishing....I am installing from a fresh startup after many crashes in my HP DV6930US...I am very cautiuos in installing more than I need now that I am in a middle of full restoration process...I let you know how firefox does it... I remmenber in a nother HP Pavillion my MotherinLaw has, That I had to install drivers from FireFox since I had a similar problem with the web page...I just search and pick from the serch list the downloadables links in FireFox, it had problems too...with IE9 had similar problems....However, in this case with IE9 I can not find any downloadable link from HP using IE9...I will try FFx...

IE Erros on this webpage might cause it to work incorrectly

When hover the mouse on Save and Close button on sharepoint, can see javascript:SubmitForm(), click the button, below error return. It only happen on IE browser. To run as another domain account on same PC, it works without such error. And I can use my account
to save list item by IE on another computer. So the problem only happen on this computer and under my account.
Is this error related to Java JRE update installed on Windows 7 ?
Any solution?

In the first instance try
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, uncheck "Display notification about every script error"
If that option is already unchecked, contact your SharePoint Administrator/ or Programmers as they have to correct the scripting error in the code.

It appears that in DPS, window.orientation method doen't work - it always returns 0.
Is there any alternative, how to get device initial orientation?

Java web start running on windows NT4 work station

I have installed java web start on a windows NT4 work station (service pack 6) with a directx v5. I successfuly launch the sun applications such as swing set 2, but I have some troubles concerning our software which used another look and feel than the default one. A system error is raised saying that the library ddraw.dll could not be loaded.
I have unistalled and re-installed directx v5 but the error is still raised.
Does any one can help me to solve this problem ?.

Because of our new Network-Technology (Terminal-Server) we have to discuss serveral possibilities.
I've read about JSP and ASP.NET, and I want to know if JSP or any kind of JAVA Program will run on a Terminal-Server.
Are there any special aspects I have to know when running JSP on a terminal server from Microsoft? Is it better to program applications in JAVA or in JSP? ...

Problem with drop down list: on Windows it works, on Mac doesn't

I am reworking the MultiPageImporter2.5 script by Scott Zanelli; going to add some new features.
So far I added a drop down list so the user could choose on which pages to place a pdf/indd file: odd/even/both.
However I encountered a strange problem: on Windows it works as expected, but on Mac nothing happens when I click the popup. When I write a dialog, I almost always use automatic layout and never encountered such a problem before. But in this script the author uses fixed position for the controls so I followed his coding style:

dLog.pageSideMode.selection = pageSideMode;
The drop down list is visible both on Windows and Mac, but on Mac it’s not clickable. What am I doing wrong?
Another question: in the script, the author created three popups. In the code, each popup has a different height (the last element of the “bounds” array) – 60, 88, 33. Does it make sense to make them different if on the screen they look exactly the same (I mean height).
Here’s my version of the script.
I think the easiest solution for me here is to rework the dialog part from fixed to automatic layout.

In my version of the script, the user will have to choose a file to be placed directly in the dialog box. The selected file can be saved into a preset. I'm reworking it for another person (not for myself) and that's what he wants.

Blue screen, Windows stopped working, BC code 50

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, on my vista laptop.
I have had two blue screens in the past week, stating windows stopped working here are the details:

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.

Will windows 8 work on a late 2009 27 inch iMac

I have a late 2009 27 inch iMac, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM

I have previously run Windows XP in Bootcamp
I need to upgrade my Windows because my banking software upgrade no longer works with XP

Am I limited to which Windows I can get, 7.8. 8.1? Will any of these work?
A few weeks ago I used a link I came across while browsing the Apple support page on this topic, it analyzed my machine and recommended that I get Windows 7, 32 bit
But I see that the new Bootcamp 5.1 will only run 64 Bit
So which Windows should I buy,? 7,8,8.1? and 32 or 64 Bit?
And what Windows drivers might I have on my machine with Yosemite or be able to upgrade to?
Windows is not cheap, so I do not want to buy something that will not work

Windows 8 will not work on your iMac. Please refer to the Boot Camp system requirements, System requirements to install Windows on your Mac via Boot Camp - Apple Support, to see which Windows will work with Boot Camp and your computer. With respect to drivers, Boot Camp Assistant will provide a link to download the correct drivers.
Alternatively, instead of using Boot Camp, you can use a virtual machine such as Parallels or Fusion to install any version of Windows on your computer. Virtual hardware and drivers are used if using a virtual machine.

In addition to Niel's comments, if you plan to use Time Machine to backup a Mac to the secondary drive.....that application needs a drive that has been specifically formattted for Mac. That would be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
PCs can also read and write to the Mac formatted drive.

Fixing bluetooth in windows 8.1 and changing the way windows update works

Hello, this is a message for Microsoft, can you please fix the Bluetooth in the setting in Windows 8.1. Because I can not connect my devices on it to play music. Also, my second suggestion would be for Windows update. First of all,
Windows tells me that it will install update automatically but It's not true. Everyday I check to see if there is an update on the pc. So change the way windows update works because It is a bit confusing. In other words, try to do like windows 7 if you
can, or if not It is not a big deal. But a least try to have a solution for this issue and the Bluetooth also.

Can't get popup window to work, could use code help.

This is the first time I've tried to open a popup window in
flash, and I can't get it to work. The site I'm building has the
navigation buttons contained in an animated movie clip. All of the
navigation buttons work fine. But there's a link that the company
wants me to add that opens a window to another site who hosts a
video commercial for the company (it has to be a link to the other
site, it can't be added directly to the customers site).
The link the other company sent me is for javascript (I'll
include it in the attached code), and the code works great if I
just insert the javascript in the html. But I wanted to try and get
the link in the Flash menu. I've tried several versions of the
code, from applying it directly to the button to naming an instance
of it and attaching the actionscript in the movie clip. When I'm
done, I get two different problems. On my XP machine, I get a
warning error about the flash trying to open something to another
server. On my Vista machine, nothing happens at all.
Anyway, I'm including the original javascript and several
versions of the actionscript I've tried (with the actual site
information replaced with "fakeurl.com", wasn't sure how these
forums felt about including site info). Any help at all would be
greatly appreciated. I've searched and searched for about a week,
and I'm tempted to just do away with the Flash button and use a
cheesy javascript button for this one link.

Save as window from modal window not working

when i try to open an excel document from modalwindow, the download window appers, asking for "save as" or "open with". but there is no name of the file to be downloaded. and nothing happens when i click ok or cancel button. but from a normal window this works fine. the problem is only with modalwindow which i am opening using the javascript code showmodaldialog. How can i solve this. please help

As for your problem, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Open in a new Window noot working in OBIEE 11.1.1.6

I have just installed 11.1.1.6 and found that "OPen in a new window " functionality is not working. I created a report and applied the action link in one of teh column value. I n teh properties , I set the link to open in a new window . But when I click on the values ofthat column the link appears but even after clicking on that link is not opening my navigated report. But if I make it to open in the same window , it works.
But as per teh requirements , the next report should open in new window . Pls help me :-(
Is there any specific javascript file i need to look into....Pls. help.
