Windows 10 and Comcast email

I cannot connect to my Comcast email since I installed Windows 10.  I only get a spinning circle.

I ran Windows Update, it updated to KB2267602, then I restarted the computer.  Still will not open the ComCast email with Edge, I get a spinning circle.  I can get into ComCast email if I use Chrome.

  • Has anyone solved the iPod touch and Comcast email problem?

The reason I got a touch is to check email when traveling. As of a few weeks ago, I could no longer do this. The comcast.net page now requires Flash and directs me to the install page (which I cannot download to the touch). I asked about this at the Apple Store and the touch doesn't have/cannot have Flash.
Has anyone figured out how to get past the Flash page to just sign in and get email? I am going around with Comcast about this -- they continue to mix up the iPhone and the touch. I will post if I get a solution from them. In the meantime, can anyone help?

If you do NOT have the January Software Update, you must use the Webmail for Comcast. from Safari, type in http://mobilebeta.comcast.net works as advertised.
If you have purchase the January Software update:
    Click 'Mail' Application
    Click 'Other'
    POP Information
'Name' is whatever name you want to call the account
    'Address' is you email address
'Description' Whatever you want to call the account
    Incoming Mail Server
    Host Name = mail.comcast.net
User Name = [Your email address]
Password = [Your password] THIS IS CASE SENSITIVE
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
    Host Name: smtp.comcast.net
User Name = [Your email address]
Password = [Your password] THIS IS CASE SENSITIVE
It is really easy: just followed comcast for Outlook link

Looks a lot nicer than in the web.
If you make any errors or need to change anything, go to home, then settings, then Mail

  • Iphone and comcast email, it sends, but not really

I was finally able to send email, or at least my phone says it was sent. The messages never arrived. IPhone...
    Sean

This could involve a spam filter at the incoming mail server for the recipient's email account.
If this message was sent with an email client on your computer, you could view and forward the full message headers to Comcast, which could help in determining what happened to the message after it was sent if Comcast would be willing to investigate something like this.
The intended recipient can check with the email account provider for their email account to determine if your email address has been improperly flagged as being use to send junk mail. If the message included an attachment, the attachment could be improperly flagged as including a virus or malware.
This could be a number of things including the message being delayed in transit. Although email is instantly received after being sent for the most part, a sent message does not take a straight line from the SMTP server used to send the message to the recipient's incoming mail server.

  • I need to 'enable download pictures/graphics' in my Comcast email.

I get no images or graphics in my Comcast email. I need to 'enable download pictures/graphics' I believe to fix this. Text within a blank graphics box stated this. I'm using Firefox version 27. Windows XP. Comcast email server. Graphics quite showing in my email several months back all of a sudden. I've cleared the cache and cookies. I believe I tried resetting Firefox to default settings. I could try this again. Don't remember if I did this before or after email graphic problems. Comcast tech support could not help me. Thank you.

Cor-el, there are no links to the email images in Tools>Page Info>Media that I can see. When I right click the image placeholder and click Inspect Element, It shows line after line of what looks like code. No images loading are only a problem in my Comcast email. I've had three tech reps at Comcast try to solve it. None could. Websites load fine. Could the problem have something to do with my graphics card and driver? Thanks.

  • Why can't I open Comcast email in Firefox browswer... but can in Chrome?

Since one of the recent Firefox upgrades, I haven't been able to get past the preview window on my Comcast email. I now need to use Chrome to get to my emails, but would prefer Firefox, but haven't found a solution that works. Is the problem related to the Java Script add-on that is disabled?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Forwarding email from comcast to icloud is different than icloud managing comcast email.  One disadvantage of forwarding is that when you respond to an email originally sent to the comcast address and forwarded to icloud, your reply will have the icloud address as the source, not your comcast.  That is a problem for many users.
If your comcast account is IMAP, then there's no reason to forward.  Just define two accounts in your mail app, one for comcast and one for icloud.  Once done, you don't have to worry about dealing with two services, it's all done in a unified way.
And.... you are not talking to Apple here, we're just users like you.  Apple doesn't participate in these forums.

  • I can send but not receive email using Mail and Comcast

My incoming mail [Mac Mail 3.6(936) ] slowed and now has stopped. I get error message "mail.comcast.net" on port 995 timed out. I can send. I can receive at Comcast.net. I have tried changing the port setting to 101 and no SSL and 587 (the comcast online set up guide), etc. and sometimes it works once then fails again. I have deleted the p-list in the Mail Library and restarted and still nothing.
I deleted the account and set it up again but still no luck. Oddly the Preferences says deleting the Accounts will delete everything but the Mailboxes are still there. Part of the problem?
I do not have this issue using Thunderbird which is a program I do not like.
I used Comcast's various online guides, a long useless chat and useless email to no avail. My Primary Account Holder email (which I never use) works but not my every day email account.

  • Trying to get to comcast email, I get a window stating Report error 400 to them. They say "A mozilla problem," HELP?

Repeating: "Trying to get to Comcast email, I get another pop up window stating 'Cannot get on email, report to Comcast, need help, and Error 400. I did; they analyzed, and say it is a Mozilla problem. Can you help?
I have found a way to get to my email, but it is annoying to always have to go around the Mozilla window. This just started about 3-4-days ago.

    Hi IKnowIndigo,
There are a few possible causes of the error.  Generally speaking, you want to confirm that the network IP Address settings, Send Function Setting Tool activation, and Send-to-Email settings are all configured properly.
Please note that if in an office setting, we recommend that your IT Department/Network Administrator setup your scanning to email feature because we will not know information like your port numbers and so on.
However, whether your laser product is an office setting or setup on a personal network of your own, it is recommended to contact our technical support group to isolate the cause.  At that time, it will be helpful to have initial information such as your operating system and version; if you have an on site e-mail server such as an MS Exchange server or a Domino server; or, if you are using an off-site email server such as Yahoo or Gmail.
Please feel free to contact us and we will be glad to help.

  • Firefox v. 29 will not work with Windows XP in accessing Comcast email.

My Comcast email will not load and I cannot access any email after installing Firefox v. 29. I went to Microsoft web site and installed the Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. This did not help. Do I need to reinstall Firefox 28? The only other solution is to get a new computer it seems with Windows 8.1 and I'd rather not unless absolutely essential.

Moses: a tech rep at Comcast finally told me they needed to do some upgrades to make the full version of their email program compatible with Firefox 29. He set the email on 'Lite' which seems to work. This was the 4th call to Comcast! Now email seems to be working due to this change. Thanks for the suggestions.

Check the outgoing mail server settings in your account on the Treo and see if it is set for your yahoo account.
Make sure it is not set for the Hotmail account.

I have Windows XP and Adobe 9 Reader and need to send a series of large documents to clients as a matter of urgency When I convert 10 pages a MS-Word file to Pdf this results in file of 6.7 MB which can't be emailed.  Do I combine them and then copy to JPEG 2000 or do I have to save each page separately which is very time consuming Please advise me how to reduce the size and send 10 pages plus quickly by Adobe without the huge hassles I am enduring

What kind of software do you use for the conversion to pdf? Adobe Reader can't create pdf files.

  • Suddenly I can no longer open my comcast email. I tried deleting cookies and emptying the cache, but neither helped. I can see the preview of the inbox, but not the whole inbox, and I cannot open any email. Help! I hate having to use IE!

When I click on "open entire inbox" the font seems to get very large briefly, then it returns to the normal size.I can't see my whole inbox or open anything!

When using Preferences to change the email to Xfinity Lite you loose certain valuable features available in the full verfsiion. This may work for some but I enjoy attaching photos in some emails and having them show in he message boz along with a message. It's a shame that two multi-national companys can't get their act straight. Comcast blames Firefox, Firefox blames Concast. In the meantime users are forced to use Internet Explorer. I hate this kind of stupidity. Millions of consumers are inconvenienced. I suspect that Microsoft and Comcast are schemeing in this matter.

  • How do I transfer all my comcast emails and contacts to my icloud email?

I have consistant trouble with macmail being able to receive my comcast emails ever since I upgraded my computer to yosemite (many many problems have come from doing that, actually). I spend hours trying to reconfigure my mail, ports, servers, etc. and I am getting tired of it. How can I just have everything exported to my icloud email? I plan to get off comcast anyway and will need to do this. Any help with this and general help about how to fix mail on Yosemite would be appreciated. I'm so angry at my computer after this upgrade I have briefly considered switching to a PC! (kidding)

For future mail, you need to get the people who communicate with you to use your new address. For existing mail, just drag it from it's existing location to folders under your iCloud account.
