Windows 7 Operating System Re-install
I had to replace the hard drive and need to re-install the Windows 7 operating system. I am trying to get ahold of the disc so I can reinstall. Any help you can give me would be great.

In which machine are you trying to install Windows 7? What is the model name, product number of your laptop? Was Windows 7 pre installed in your laptop or is it a retail version?
Are you planning for Recovery using Recovery media/partition OR Do a clean install using Windows 7 installation disc?

Note: For ISO method to work, you've to legibly & clearly read all the 25 characters of product activation key in COA sticker on the back of laptop or activation key slip.

Do you need a copy of a Windows operating system to install Boot Camp?
I want to install Microsoft Windows on my macbook but I don't know if I need a copy of a Windows operating system to install boot camp. I have a copy of Windows XP Professional but when I lunched the Boot Camp Assistent program it prompt me with a box and asked if I wanted to install windows 7. Do I need a copy of the Windows 7 operating system or does it come with Boot Camp?
I'm confused with how Boot Camp works.

Thank you in advance!You need Boot Camp to create a space in which to install Windows, you must own a copy of Windows. You can only install Windows 7 or 8.
Read the Boot Camp documentation and make a backup of your Mac before you start. -
reinstalled my windows operating system and decided to put on windows 8. After loading all of my music back into a freshly installed itunes, my 4th gen ipod is not recognized by itunes. My 1st gen ipod nano works with no problem. I can eliminate any problems with the cable and connection.
I've stopped and started the service, and also have performed cold reboots.
Nothing seems to have helped the situation.

Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?

Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

HT5639 Are there inherent security risks for installing windows operating systems on a mac?
Just wondering if I use "bootcamp" and install Windows operating system and find out one of the main reasons I switched to a Mac is because of security issues. I also need to know if I can operate the Mac version of "Microsoft Office" without installing the Windows Operating System.

That is incorrect. You can install Windows on a Mac, any Mac, without having OS X installed on it.
To the OP you will need the original system reinstall USB thumb drive that came with your Mac Air if it is older than a Mid 2011 model or if it is newer than a Mid 2011 model you use the Online Internet recovery system.
If you don't have that original reinstall USB thumb drive you can order one from Apple for a small charge. Call Apple and ask to speak to someone Specifically to order a Replacement USB system reinstall thumb drive for your model year. You will need the serial number of that Air. It is etched into the bottom of the case.

Symptoms
After installing the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update, iTunes may be unable to properly authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases.
Resolution
The following steps will delete your network preferences. Most broadband connections do not require any special settings to connect, but if your connection does or if you are not sure, please contact your ISP or network administrator for further assistance.
Important: You must be logged in as an Administrator.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
Choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go.
In the Finder window, locate the file named NetworkInterfaces.plist.
Drag this file to the Trash.
Restart the computer.
Once your computer has restarted. You will not be able to connect to the Internet. Now you will need to refresh your network settings to be able to connect again.
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
To refresh your network settings, from the Location pop-up menu, choose New Location.
Type a name for your location and click OK.
Click the Apply Now at the bottom right to accept the changes.
If your network connection requires any special settings, you will need to put them back in at this point. Once you have made these changes you should be able to connect to the Internet again and authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases. -

If you want to back up with Time Machine, you need a GUID partition table and an HFS (Mac OS X) partition. If you can also create a Windows partition without destroying the partition table, then you can use the same drive for both systems. I can't give you specific instructions for Windows.

Was Windows XP the original operating system?
What do you mean by HP operating system? Are you perhaps referring to the BIOS splash screen that shows an HP image?
I own an HP mini and use either a USB thumbdrive or a USB DVD drive to reinstall the operating system. The USB thumb drive install is much faster.

It all depends on what your useage of Windows will be, for playing games install it in BootCamp, for word processing, spreadsheets, email. browsing etc a virtual Machne will be fine. -
2 inDesigns one one computer. Mac and windows operating systems
i have a creative cloud membership through my company and we work on a IMac but a particular program we use called DirectSmile, only works on the windows side in conjunction with inDesign. We have Parallels installed on our computer and a creative suite installed on the Mac side of one computer. Can i get inDesigned installed on the Windows side of this one computer. Basically, Can in get 2 versions on inDesign installed on one computer? One for the Mac operating system and one for the Windows operating system?
Presuming you haven't already installed and activated a second time on some other computer....

Windows operating system error with a Zen Sleek and windows 2
I have tried to install the creative disk that came with the Zen Sleek. After launch I get this message "windows operating system running on this computer is not supported by this product and can get no further. I am running windows 2000 pro. I have downloaded the creative media source program from the creative.com site and it will install beautifully but when you launch it, I get the error " CTCMS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart program." I figure that these two problems are probably related. We have been able to transfer songs by using the play for sure, but I am disappointed otherwise.
thanks, KathyOn the packaging it should say the player is Win XP only. I'm not sure if the Sleek ships with the Easy CD that allows MTP/PlayForSure based players to work with earlier Windows versions.
