I work at a museum and I just upgraded an exhibit the first one out of MANY!!!
This is a rack mount system - AMX Controller controlling 9 PC's - 8 of the PC's drive uncompressed HD video to 8 projectors and one PC just for sound.
I upgraded these PC's and now - this is the 2nd one doing this - its saying that this windows isn't genuine!!! I already registered it AND activated it on all of the PC's during installation and now you want me to re-activate them all??!!
This system is networked together, but will never ever be online as to ensure it's security and uptime. It's costing us a great deal of time, money and down time to have to remove each PC by PC to connect it to the internet just so it can be revalidated.
I need a permanent solution to this issue.
Another reason I need a solution to this is that we're opening a new wing soon and the number of interactive's is well over 100, I do not want to have to hook up all of them to the internet.
There's an interesting line in this diagnostic report and I Quote: "Remaining Windows rearm count: 3" So does that mean I'm going to have to reactivate Windows 3 more times?!?!?

Shoot! I'll have to see if I can get access to it later today - we have a lot of visitors at the moment and post a diagnostic. I've done 3 of them so far - and so far so good.
I was wondering if there is a way to 'force' an activation by phone. I changed the date on one I have now and its saying it wants to be activated. FYI: I tried sliu 4 but it has 'Afghanistan' as the country and it's grayed out so I can't change
it to USA. Would it be okay to go through the process of phone activation even though the country is indicated as Afghanistan?

My iPhone car charger was professionally installed in 2010 and again in 2013 and had been working perfectly for all of this time, now it's coming up with the yellow triangle and the text saying that this accessory isn't supported. Try authorize this computer in the store menu in Itunes. This worked for me. It seems that this is an account problem on iTunes.

i can't seem to get my iPad to synch with my new iMac. The iTunes prompt says that this computer isn't authorised although i have registered it on iTunes. Any other ideas for how to overcome this block?
What do you mean by 'registered it on iTunes' ? You've authorised your account on your Mac's iTunes via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option ? And you've copied your library onto the Mac ?

Windows Pro upgrade with Hyper-V for Windows App development

I am just starting to develop my first windows phone app. I dowloaded Visual studio 2013 express on my windows 8 machine. I started to follow the Microsoft Virtual Academy, Develop Windows phone apps for Beginners with Bob Tabor.
Anyway, when i try to run the Emulator, it tells me i need Hyper-V which my version of windows doesn't have. Apparently i need Windows Professional. Anyway, this costs about £100 to upgrade. Also, for the emulator i am told i need 4gb of RAM.
Question 1: My laptop is an i5, 64bit machine, windows 8.1 normal edition, with 4gb of RAM. It says of which 3.88gb of ram is usable. Whatever that means?
The minimum requirement for the emulator is 4gb, will it work on my machine which apparently has 3.88 ?
Question 2: I already own a nokia windows 8.1 phone. A basic enough model. Instead of buying the upgrade for windows pro, is it a big hassle to run my test apps on that phone? How difficult is it to run a test build of an app on my phone? Can i run it via
the inside of visual studio? Or do i need to go to file explorer, copy and paste files over to the phone, disconnect it from the laptop etc. How many steps are involved? If its a load of hassle i might be safer to just bite the bullet and buy the Windows pro
upgrade.
(although i am aware the emulator can't test some things that the actual phone can..eg near field communication etc.)

ConorIt's not that big of a hassle to debug your app by deploying it on your phone. It's just a matter of choosing Device instead of Emulator when you start debugging in VS.
Some of the downsides are that your phone's screen must be on and not showing the lock screen, and the fact that you can only have a maximum of 2 apps installed on your phone for debugging purposes. If you start developing and debugging a third app, then
you must first uninstall one of the other 2 apps to be able to deploy the third app to your phone. To my knowledge the emulator does not have such a limit. I believe there's a paid developer account option available somewhere if you want to raise the limit
beyond 2 apps.
Other than that, being tied to a single resolution as Dave mentioned is another downside to using a device. -
the subjected massage is coming every time i try to run itune setup on my windows 7 PC, the error massge is " There is a problem with this windows intaller package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact you support personnel or package vendor." i downloaded three times the setup from apple site same massge is coming, and when i try to install icloud client the same massage appeared, please help.
Did you try to repair Apple Software Update?
That is the important thing to try.
If that doesn't work we would need to try something else. -
When I download files, a window appears; how do I recall this window?
I may be asking for an enhancement in future releases.
I want to be able to access information about recent downloads and sometimes I like to open the downloaded file by "clicking" on it in this window. It would be nice to be able to open this window from a menu selection (perhaps "View" command).Whatever you are asking is already provided by firefox. I'm trying to install Acrobat XI Pro on my pc that has Windows Vista Business 32 bit.
When I click to download this program, it brings me to the Adobe Application Manager but Acrobat is not on my list there, even though I purchased all the programs through the cloud.

Thanks so much!Sorry, but VISTA is not a supported OS for AA XI. From what I have heard on the forum, there is no way to get it to work. It is interesting that it will run on XP. Seems VISTA was another lame OS from MS, though I am running it on this system and it works fine. However, I use AA8 on this system.

Can't select items on desktop via finder window when another application opens that finder window
When another program (like premier pro, or gmail with chrome) opens a finder window (in order to import files, or make attachments), I am unable to select items on my desktop.
My workaround is to open an independent finder window, add a tag to the file or folder i want to use, then go back to the 'import' window in premier pro, or the attachment window in gmail in chrome, and select the relevant tag in the lefthand column, then select the file or folder in the righthand column. This seems slow and frustrating and unnecessary.
Is there a really obvious thing I'm missing? Please be merciful, Apple Support Community...Hi Sue, if you can navigate in Finder do this:
navigate to yourhome/library/preferences and trash these two files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist (if this exists in 10.2 - not sure)
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)
Then log out and back in again. Or restart.

Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same. -

Does anybody know of a way to change the Finder's View Options so that "This window only" is marked by default?
Is there, maybe, a plist which i could edit?
(Reason: most of the time, i invoke "show view options" just to set the icon size in the finder window -- but i want to set it always only for the current window.)

Gabriel.I wish! This is one of the most perpetually annoying default behaviors of the Finder. I suspect that it is hard coded into the Finder itself rather controlled by some easily hacked plist. When you bring up the View Options for a window, and then change things, the changes are written to the .DS_Store file for that folder. So I'm guessing the process, from the initial options dialog window to the writing of the .DS_Store file, is in fact a part of the Finder's code. But I would be delighted if I'm wrong about this and there is something that can be done, other than sending Apple a plea for a changed default behavior at Feedback.

Ran into an issue installing the W10 TP today; currently using a laptop who's manufacturer load up windows 8.1 using WIMBoot to save space on the SSD.
Because of WIMBoot, the W10 installer detects that "Windows can't be installed because this PC uses a compressed operating system."
This means that, short of redoing my Windows Install from scratch, I have no way to install the W10 TP, either through the ISO or through Windows Update.
Any chance that this will possible in a future build?Wimboot needs an image file, that HP uses with Windows8.1 + Bing on

According to the System Requirements page for the latest technical preview, Windows 10 is unsupported on
all 16GB WIMBoot devices, but only incompatible on
some 32GB WIMBoot devices, thus seeming to imply that some WIMBoot devices are indeed compatible.
The question is, why are some WIMBoot devices upgrade compatible while others are not? And is it possible to work around this limitation while retaining the WIMBoot configuration and user data, as an option for advanced users?
Furthermore, Windows 10is an image file (install.wim is what's used to install, refresh, and restore Windows). WIMBoot devices, from my understanding, use the install.wim (which currently contain the Windows 8.1 OS) in
a read-only mode, only applying updates and changes as files on the C: drive (so any updated files are located on C: and the originals within install.wim ignored?). Problem is, there has yet to be any explanation from Microsoft, for OEMs or consumers,
