Windows Time Server setting not following group policy

I hardly use group policy, except for two settings:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\User Profiles\Exclude directories in roaming profile
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Windows Time Service\Configure Windows NTP Client & Enable Windows NTP Client
The first setting has worked perfectly for years, but the second one seems to have stopped working, in that the time on client PCs has become out by several minutes. The client PCs are running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Following is the result under [TimeProviders] when I run W32TM /query /configuration:
On the server:

Can anyone help me to fix this please so that the client PCs sync their time correctly with an NTP server?

Does this happen to all clients in our environment? For group policy, we can run command
gpresult/h gpreport.html with administrative privileges to collect group policy result to have a check. Besides, we can check event logs in Event Viewer to see if some related events were logged.
Here, we can try to resync time with domain by following the steps described in the article below.

Windows Server 2012 Essentials - Implement Group Policy for the 1st time

This is my first server. We have 15 users and 20 devices, all clients are running Win7 Pro.
On the Dashboard, Devices tab, when I click on each device there is an option to implement Group Policy in the right-hand task pane. Does this mean I can implement it for one device at a time? Or will it happen for everyone in the domain?
I'm hesitant to start. Is this something where I should wait for the weekend, so I can restore from a backup if need be?

Time to get a basic Windows networking reference book and read up on group policy. Policies are applied by the system on a predicable refresh rate, which if memory servers is 15 minutes. This can be forced from the stations with the cli command "gpupdate
/force" but in most cases there is little need to do so.
Some, like folder redirection, only impact the stations on reboot/sign on

on our 2008 R2 DC we do not have a "RemoteApp and Desktop Connections" entry and so i cant
set the Default URL of the RDS web , how i can have an admx for this policy or any work around in order to set the URL by group policy, by the way i have an rds 2012 R2 and DC 2008 R2 and all clients are using thin clients with windows 8 embedded.

You can download and install the latest group policy templates on your DC:

Another option would be to edit your group policies from your Server 2012 R2 server. For this you need to install Group Policy Management via Server Manager Add Roles and Features Wizard.

Windows 2008 Server R2 not loading Desktop

Hi All,
I have windows 2008 server R2 using as Database server.Today when i try to login it is showing two more user accounts in the login screen and i login to the server with administrator account but it was showing a blue screen(not blue screen error) with mouse
pointer.I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open task manager>new task>desktop and click open its showing that "windows cannot access the specified device,path or file.You may not have the appropriate permissions to acess the item.

From cmd.exe session run SET then look for
USERNAME=Administrator
USERPROFILE=C:\Users\administrator
If you see USERPROFILE=C:\Users\administrator.000 (or similar) then the original local administrator profile was corrupt or otherwise orphaned.
In days past one could create a new account with local administrative rights, logon with new account, then after saving off docs, etc. from corrupt/abandoned profiles use
Control Panel|Users and Passwords and delete the old profile stores. Then when you next logon a new profile is created from an image in
\default user Have not tried this on anything newer vintage than server 2003 though.

Windows 8.1 cannot connect to group policy client service

Windows 8.1 laptop under administrator account has this "cannot connect to group policy client service" error.Found the following instructions on internet but I don't see this "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" box on Permissions/Advanced
popup windows ???
Could anyone help ?
Change the permissions on the relevant keys configuring the Group Policy Client service to allow Full Control to Administrators
Open regedit (Start > type regedit in the search box) and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\gpsvc
Right-click the registry key and choose Permissions.
Click Advanced, then click Owner.
Choose Administrators and check the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects box.
Exit the permissions dialog and then open it again.
Click Advanced, then choose Administrators and click
Edit…
Check Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object.
Click OK and confirm; exit.

Based on my test, the option Replace owner on subcontainers and objects exists in Windows 7, but doesn’t exist in Windows 8.1.
Please take a look at the screenshot about the option in Windows 7.

Set default printer group policy

I am deploying our new printers via group policy. We have a new printer in place and I am fairly familiar on how to actually deploy them. I am deploying the printers MOSTLY by user configuration and with that method, I am able to easily delete old printers and set the correct one as a default.
However, We have some computers that have multiple users. In that case, I am deploying the printers as a Computer configuration, not an employee configuration. My question is, how can I set the newly deployed printer as a default for all users that log on to that particular computer? Thank you.

Window DHCP Server is not allocting IP to Voice Vlan

Hi,
I HAVE 3560 Switch, Over that two vlan configure Data & Voice respectively. Voice id Vlan 1 and Data Id Vlan 2.Routing is done on this switch and work as L3
DHCP Server is member of Data Vlan which is connected to another 3560 Switch L2. DHCP Server is reachable.On that both vlan configured.
Switch Port configure fr both Vlan ( Switchport access vlan 2 , Switchport voice vlan 1, Switchport mode access)
WHILE Connect any pc to port DHCP server assign ip frm Data Pool while Cisco Ip phones are not getting IP. OPTION 150 is configured in DHCP.
Over both interface IP Helper is configured and pointing to DHCP Server.
For testing point configure DHCP service on switch with voice pool range ;at that moment Cisco IP phone got the IP fron switch DHCP.
Now not able to understand why window dhcp server not assigning ip for Voice.
Both Vlan are in different subnet and having / 24.
Please guide

Checked all configuration in network,apply packet tracer and found DHCP not responding on DHCP Req.
Replace DHCP server and now working fine. :)

Server Admin not displaying groups correctly

Server 10.5.8, Mac Pro 4 core 2.66, 56 GB RAM.
Had a crash yesterday, all back to normal now except:
Server Admin's "show users and groups" is not displaying groups correctly" "users" is missng, and any new groups I created in WM are missing. Even if I sort by GID, they don't show up. And yet, if I type "staff" in the search bar, it shows up with GID 20. Also shared folders are showing up as groups

Surely someone can at least point me in the right direction? I tried rebuilding the LDAP database, but that didn't fix it.

Windows Time Server Won't Start

We learned today that we can start or otherwise change Windows services via [Run][services.msc]. When we try to change the properties for Windows Time, the window says (among other things), "Path to executable/C:\windows\system32\svchost.exe -k
LocalService" When we select Automatic for startup type and click [Apply], we get a dialog box that says, "The system cannot find the path specified."
How can we resolve this?

Help with time zone setting not working in my treo 750

When I set my home time zone in the time setting option and I confirm the change, it does not take the change. The home time zone is always set to Pacific Standard Time. Does anybody knows how to fix this bug?

Windows deployment server could not connect to Tecra S11-11f

Hello ,
When sending an image from the WDS to the Tecra i get an error message telling me that the wds could not connect to the tecra , because of a missing driver.
The driver we are using works fine when installing from an windows installation disk i detects the lancard and installs it.
I've downloaded a lot of drivers i can't find out which is the right one.
When connecting a different laptop from an other brand it works fine

Has your Tecra factory settings or you have installed and configured OS on your own?

Track with in group does not follow group

I did find the answer to this question on the .Mac Groups forum. But the solution lays in iWeb!
What did it to me was
"-Groups displays ALL pages, showing the top 5 based on their "hit counter"-".
I could resolve my problem by dropping the counter in the eldest photo pages.
Not such a nice solution, as I now lose my view statistic.

Here are the registry key you should change on Domain Controller
Depending on your Windows version, there are some registry settings you need to set:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NTPServer\Enabled
Changing the ‘Enabled’ flag to the value 1 enables the NTP Server.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters\Type
Change the server type to NTP by specifying ‘NTP’ in the ‘Type’ registry entry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\AnnounceFlags
Set the ‘Announce Flags’ registry entry to 5, to indicate a reliable time source.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\LocalClockDispersion
Set 'LocalClockDispersion' to 0
The last one is most important one.
After changing registry, you need to restart "Windows Time" service.
