Wireless/Satelite Connection for Locations cannot receive connections?

MacBook -- I want a wireless/(satelite) connection that will allow me to connect to the Internet from anywhere. I do not want Airport...I am on the road alot...where in many places I can not pull a connection from near by places. I am looking for the most realible and inexpensive option for true wireless/satelite. I have found one card through Verizon (not bluetooth - Verizon Wireless V640) that costs $179.00 and $59/month through Verizon. Any gurus know companies that offer this for a better service/costs?

Verizon's is probably the most viable service for speed, and that's cellular, not satellite. Being cellular if you are out of the cellular provider's service area you are stuck with no service anyway. Satellite services require a dish which you would have to lug around at least as big as the Direct TV or Dish Network dishes, and would require a clear unobstructed view of the of the southwestern horizon in the U.S. In addition, the best dish services offer a modem that uses ethernet as opposed to USB. Whether or not the satellite services let you work from more than one location you'd have to take up with the satellite service providers.
Consider that many hotels now offer free WiFi internet access in the hotel, I would use http://www.jiwire.com/ to find out which ones do and try to stay at those hotels. Some offer the free WiFi in the lobby, but not the main rooms.

Unable to locate server even though wireless is connected.

I've been having an odd issue with my wrt54G. My wife and I have 2 laptops wirelessly connected to the router (win xp media certer ver and win xp home ver).
In addition we have 3 win 98 boxes and 1 notebook using xp tablet edition all of which use ethernet.
Periodically both of our notebooks that are wirelessly connected will periodically give an "unable to locate server" message when when using IE6. I tried Firefox also to attempt to narrow it down and the same problem is present. Oddly though both notebooks still have our wireless signal connected. I have proxy and both firewalls (xp and symantec) off on these 2 notebooks. They connect using wpa-tkip with mac filtration off ssid broadcast off. Usually we can cold boot our laptops and get reconnected again although sometimes it will happen again almost immediately. I can't remember if we are able to browse network drives (using our wireless notebooks) when this happens. None of our ethernet connected pc's have this problem when this is going on.
I have rebooted the cable modem and the wrt54g and this doesn't seem to matter.
My firmware version is v3.03.6, Jan. 6, 2005v3.03.6.

Okay the problem has resurfaced. When this is happening (no web access, no nntp access) I am still able to ping websites that I am unable to open in IE or Mozilla. Also I am still able to listen on streaming audio during these times of no web access. I am also unable to connect to my router's config page while this is happening.
While web access is being denied I am still able to connect to other pc's on my home network.
I'm beginning to think that there must be some kind of http, https and NNTP traffic during certain times but I cannot find anything obvious in my router's setting via the web tool.
This baffles me. I am inclined to to think it's something other than just http and nntp traffic that's being stopped. The reason I say this is because I have had to reboot again following and initial reboot that restored web access and then denied it again in just a matter minutes.
Maybe my router is croaking out?

Wireless WRT160N Connection Error "Windows cannot validate certificate"

I installed and configured the WRT160N v.2 wireless router. My notebook running windows xp sees the network and has a good signal. When I try to connect, I get an error that "windows cannot validate certificate" or "validating identify". Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

You need to change the Wireless Settings on your router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
Click on the Wireless tab
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
- Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select AES...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone.
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your new Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
If the above fails :
Please go to the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.Choose the Wireless Networks-tab and remove all the preferred networks from the list and click Add...Click the tab Authentication, in this window you have to choose Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network and EAP type set to Protected EAP (PEAP?, now click O.k...

Cannot get my wireless to connect to my TV

I have a Panasonic Visio tv, I have a LINKsys E1200 that is connected to my Cable Internet. I have successfully connected the wireless to my laptop and have a guest network that has been tested and works as well. I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. CANNOT establish an internet connection???? Asking for an Access Point???

Are you at least able to see your wireless network through the player? Make sure that it has an internal wireless adapter. If it doesn't then you'll need to see if it is compatible with an external one.

Welcome to the Apple Community Willy.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

I Cannot get iMac to connect to AE or TC wireless, can connect by ethernet. All other devices (iPad, Apple TV, Roku, iPhone, iPad Touch) can connect to wireless network without any issues. OS is 10.6.6, both apple TC and AE are current with their software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AE=Airport Extreme? or Express? - you mention TC (Time Capsule) above, but, I don't want to assume.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Delete the Email Account and then Re-add it.

There are two entirely different paths involved here; SMTP for send and either POP or IMAP receive. Check your receive path. Confirm username, password and the POP or IMAP server identity. Also check directly with your mail provider, and ensure the POP or IMAP server is functioning and online, and the provider hasn't changed their particular POP or IMAP configuration requirements.

I believe I may have solved this
When you can't log into public WiFi ...
with an iDevice…
because the Server times out ...
or the login/registration page just won't load ...
********Simply do this***********
Go into settings> WiFi and tap the little info icon for the network you are trying to join
If you see two slider buttons, these are the cause of your woes
One says "Auto Join" (or similar) - you can leave this ON
The second button is "Auto Login" - you must turn this OFF (slide it left so it is grey not green)
Now go back and reselect the network.
If the login page doesn't come up automatically, open a Safari window and enter any address
Bingo!
I have reproduced this issue and solution in 100% of the public WiFi spots which I could previously not access. Please not that I also have "Block Pop-Ups" turned OFF in Settings> Safari, though I do not know if this is a necessary step.
I have filed a bug report with Apple. Feel free to contact them yourselves if this workaround works for you.

C5 - when connected to 3g cannot received calls - ...

I do not undrstand why this is going on. I tried to fix it like in a previous post but nothing is happening. Please help, this is very frustrating!
When ever it connects in the internet it cannot receive calls. Is this normal? Will it be fixed with a firmware update? Is nokia aware of the problem? Is it in purpose?Does it happening in more phones?

Not even from Nokia service? I allready sent them an email nothing happens they do not answer.
