WiSM questions (requirements, migration and some config)

Hello,
I am going to be installing a CISCO WiSM blade in a 6509 switch to replace my dual 4404's and I am having trouble finding answers to some of my concerns.
On the documentation I could find, one of the requirements listed to run WiSM is ACS version 2.6. This isn't too big of a deal as I have ACS version 3.3 running, but my question is this:
Is ACS a requirement to actually use the WiSM - or is it just saying that if you are using ACS with the WiSM, you need 2.6 or above? I do not use ACS with my 4404's.
More importantly, I have a question regarding the actual migration process of switching from the dual 4404 setup to the WiSM blade. I do not have a second 6509 for testing/configuring purposes, so the only way to set up the WiSM is live.. so I'd rather not have to configure it from scratch. Is it possible to upload configuration files from each 4404 into the two internal 4404's of the WiSM blade? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

You do not need ACS to use the WiSM. Its just saying you need that version level if you plan on using ACS with the WiSM.
For testing I suggest you make a new vlan/dhcp scope that you can run only on the wism. For this dhcp scope set the option 43 value to point only to the WiSM. This way you have it live, but not on the production wireless network.
Once you have finished your testing and feel comfortable with getting things configured you can wipe out the interfaces/ssid's on the wism for your test network and put in the production settings.
I have 5 wism's installed currently with over 1000 AP's, 2 location servers, and WCS. So if you need any help getting things running let me know.

• Questions on JMX and management-config

I was wondering if anyone can clarify the usage of management-config.
We've got a setup with managed-nodes=all and allow-remote-management=true (other params defaulted). We've got processes that occasionally ping the cluster (via a single node) to log performance statistics and to look for problems that might require intervention (across all nodes via remote management).
I'm trying to determine if the JMX subsystem is completely isolated from runtime cache performance.
1) Does the setting for the read-only flag impact performance in any way? If set to false, is there any sort of locking or synchronization that takes place when querying cluster nodes?
2) Do calls to JMX (and presumably the Invocation Service) share any resources with a Distributed Cache Service?
3) the Default management-config settings in Tangosol-coherence.xml point to the "Management" service - which is not actually defined elsewhere in the configuration file. Is this actually an implicit link to the Invocation Service?
4) Is there a single "Service Thread"? or does each distinct service have its own service thread?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

The performance impact of management is relatively small. The consumption is based on the information "read" (getAttribute/getAttribute) and the frequency of the poll. Polls of the same data element within 1 second will receive the same result for remote nodes.
The formula to determine the network consumption estimation formula for Coherence 3.3 on a single poll of the information is:
Estimated network bytes per poll =
Number of remote Node MBeans retrieved * 725
+ Number of remote Cache MBeans retrieved * 225
+ Number of remote Storage Manager MBeans Retrieved * 720
+ Number of remote Service MBeans Retrieved * 144
+ Number of remote Point to Point MBeans * (Number of Nodes in Grid -1 * 250)
Given the order N size of the Point-to-Point MBeans, It is not recommended to put that information in a loop for a large cluster.
1) Does the setting for the read-only flag impact performance in any way? If set to false, is there any sort of locking or synchronization that takes place when querying cluster nodes?
EW: The Read-only flag does not impact performance. There is no synchronization on read of the objects. Synchronization on update is on an attribute by attribute basis.
2) Do calls to JMX (and presumably the Invocation Service) share any resources with a Distributed Cache Service?
EW: The JMX calls are processed through the Management (Invocation) Service. This shares system (memory, CPU, network) resources with other services. The management information is not processed out-of-band and under extreme load performance will be impacted.
3) the Default management-config settings in Tangosol-coherence.xml point to the "Management" service - which is not actually defined elsewhere in the configuration file. Is this actually an implicit link to the Invocation Service?
EW: The Management service is a non-configurable Invocation service.
4) Is there a single "Service Thread"? or does each distinct service have its own service thread?
EW : Not exactly sure I understand the question. Each service has its' own "Service" thread and thread pool. However, there are some shared components at the TCMP (network) layer.
Hope this helps,
Everett Williams

• Question about RPS2300 and 'redundancy" config on IOS router

We have a 2951 router connected to an RPS2300 remote power supply. On the router there are two commands applied in global config mode, "redundancy inter-device" and "redundancy". The engineer who set up the router originally states that these commands are necessary for the RPS2300 to work properly with the 2951, but the documentation for the "redundancy inter-device" and "redundancy" commands do not seem to be related to the RPS at all. Can anyone tell me if either of these commands are required for RPS, or if there is any other config that must be added to the 2951 for the RPS2300 to function properly?
An excerpt from the 2951 config:
vtp mode transparent
username <detail removed>
username <detail removed>
redundancy inter-device
redundancy
controller T1 0/0/0
As you can see, there is no additional configuration under either of the "redundancy" commands.
Thanks
-Mat

To clarify, the 2951 router has an RPS-ADPTR-2921-51 module installed which connects to the RPS2300 unit.

• How to migrate and merge Webcat in OBIEE

Hello guys
I have a quick question about migrating and merging webcat..
Let's say if I wanna send my webcat to other people for them to see what I have done on presentation service, how would I save my webcat into local desktop so that I can email the attachment?
Also, if others send me their webcat, how would I be able to merge it with my own?
I remember back when it was siebel analytics, there was a way I could capture the webcat from a local folder and saved it with a specific name and send it off very much like handling RPDs, but in OBIEE I am unfamiliar with this part
Could anybody give any pointers?
Thanks

hello,
First see this. http://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=939
and coming to your questions...
Let's say if I wanna send my webcat to other people for them to see what I have done on presentation service, how would I save my webcat into local desktop so that I can email the attachment?Go to, {Oracle BI Home}:/OracleBIData/web/catalog.
here you find all catalogs. But to know what is the active catalog, go to {Oracle BI Home}:/OracleBIData/web/config and open instanceconfig.xml...
search for the part of below statement<CatalogPath>D:/OracleBIData/web/catalog/Paint</CatalogPath>In my case, Paint is the active catalog i.e. using now.
Now in Catalog folder, you have to zip the Paint folder and attach to your mail.
Also, if others send me their webcat, how would I be able to merge it with my own?do the reverse process here.. take your catalog and paste it in Catalog folder
Now you have to edit the instanceconfig.xml in order to access that catalog.
In place of Paint, the new catalog name to be replaced and save the file..
Restart your presentation service, login to the answers,... you will see the new catalog objects there..

• LR 4.4 (and 5.0?) catalog: a problem and some questions

Introductory Remark
After several years of reluctance this March I changed to LR due to its retouching capabilities. Unfortunately – beyond enjoying some really nice features of LR – I keep struggling with several problems, many of which have been covered in this forum. In this thread I describe a problem with a particular LR 4.4 catalog and put some general questions.
A few days ago I upgraded to 5.0. Unfortunately it turned out to produce even slower ’speed’ than 4.4 (discussed – among other places – here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5454410#5454410), so I rather fell back to the latter, instead of testing the behavior of the 5.0 catalog. Anyway, as far as I understand this upgrade does not include significant new catalog functions, so my problem and questions below may be valid for 5.0, too. Nevertheless, the incompatibility of the new and previous catalogs suggests rewriting of the catalog-related parts of the code. I do not know the resulting potential improvements and/or new bugs in 5.0.
For your information, my PC (running under Windows 7) has a 64-bit Intel Core i7-3770K processor, 16GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, as well as fast and large-capacity HDDs. My monitor has a resolution of 1920x1200.
1. Problem with the catalog
To tell you the truth, I do not understand the potential necessity for using the “File / Optimize Catalog” function. In my view LR should keep the catalog optimized without manual intervention.
Nevertheless, when being faced with the ill-famed slowness of LR, I run this module. In addition, I always switch on the “Catalog Settings / General / Back up catalog” function. The actually set frequency of backing up depends on the circumstances – e.g. the number of RAW (in my case: NEF) files, the size of the catalog file (*.lrcat), and the space available on my SSD. In case of need I delete the oldest backup file to make space for the new one.
Recently I processed 1500 photos, occupying 21 GB. The "Catalog Settings / Metadata / Automatically write changes into XMP" function was switched on. Unfortunately I had to fiddle with the images quite a lot, so after processing roughly half of them the catalog file reached the size of 24 GB. Until this stage there had been no sign of any failure – catalog optimizations had run smoothly and backups had been created regularly, as scheduled.
Once, however, towards the end of generating the next backup, LR sent an error message saying that it had not been able to create the backup file, due to lack of enough space on the SSD. I myself found still 40 GB of empty space, so I re-launched the backup process. The result was the same, but this time I saw a mysterious new (journal?) file with a size of 40 GB… When my third attempt also failed, I had to decide what to do.
Since I needed at least the XMP files with the results of my retouching operations, I simply wanted to save these side-cars into the directory of my original input NEF files on a HDD. Before making this step, I intended to check whether all modifications and adjustments had been stored in the XMP files.
Unfortunately I was not aware of the realistic size of side-cars, associated with a certain volume of usage of the Spot Removal, Grad Filter, and Adjustment Brush functions. But as the time of the last modification of the XMP files (belonging to the recently retouched pictures) seemed perfect, I believed that all my actions had been saved. Although the "Automatically write changes into XMP" seemed to be working, in order to be on the safe side I selected all photos and ran the “Metadata / Save Metadata to File” function of the Library module. After this I copied the XMP files, deleted the corrupted catalog, created a new catalog, and imported the same NEF files together with the side-cars.
When checking the photos, I was shocked: Only the first few hundred XMP files retained all my modifications. Roughly 3 weeks of work was completely lost… From that time on I regularly check the XMP files.
Question 1: Have you collected any similar experience?
2. The catalog-related part of my workflow
Unless I miss an important piece of knowledge, LR catalogs store many data that I do not need in the long run. Having the history of recent retouching activities is useful for me only for a short while, so archiving every little step for a long time with a huge amount of accumulated data would be impossible (and useless) on my SSD. In terms of processing what count for me are the resulting XMP files, so in the long run I keep only them and get rid of the catalog.
Out of the 240 GB of my SSD 110 GB is available for LR. Whenever I have new photos to retouch, I make the following steps:
create a ‘temporary’ catalog on my SSD
import the new pictures from my HDD into this temporary catalog
select all imported pictures in the temporary catalog
use the “File / Export as Catalog” function in order to copy the original NEF files onto the SSD and make them used by the ‘real’ (not temporary) new catalog
use the “File / Open Catalog” function to re-launch LR with the new catalog
switch on the "Automatically write changes into XMP" function of the new catalog
delete the ‘temporary’ catalog to save space on the SSD
retouch the pictures (while keeping and eye on due creation and development of the XMP files)
generate the required output (TIF OR JPG) files
copy the XMP and the output files into the original directory of the input NEF files on the HDD
copy the whole catalog for interim archiving onto the HDD
delete the catalog from the SSD
upon making sure that the XMP files are all fine, delete the archived catalog from the HDD, too
Question 2: If we put aside the issue of keeping the catalog for other purposes then saving each and every retouching steps (which I address below), is there any simpler workflow to produce only the XMP files and save space on the SSD? For example, is it possible to create a new catalog on the SSD with copying the input NEF files into its directory and re-launching LR ‘automatically’, in one step?
Question 3: If this I not the case, is there any third-party application that would ease the execution of the relevant parts of this workflow before and/or after the actual retouching of the pictures?
Question 4: Is it possible to set general parameters for new catalogs? In my experience most settings of the new catalogs (at least the ones that are important for me) are copied from the recently used catalog, except the use of the "Catalog Settings / Metadata / Automatically write changes into XMP" function. This means that I always have to go there to switch it on… Not even a question is raised by LR whether I want to change anything in comparison with the settings of the recently used catalog…
3. Catalog functions missing from my workflow
Unfortunately the above described abandoning of catalogs has at least two serious drawbacks:
I miss the classification features (rating, keywords, collections, etc.) Anyway, these functions would be really meaningful for me only if covering all my existing photos that would require going back to 41k images to classify them. In addition, keeping all the pictures in one catalog would result in an extremely large catalog file, almost surely guaranteeing regular failures. Beyond, due to the speed problem tolerable conditions could be established only by keeping the original NEF files on the SSD, which is out of the question. Generating several ‘partial’ catalogs could somewhat circumvent this trap, but it would require presorting the photos (e.g. by capture time or subject) and by doing this I would lose the essence of having a single catalog, covering all my photos.
Question 5: Is it the right assumption that storing only some parts (e.g. the classification-related data) of catalog files is impossible? My understanding is that either I keep the whole catalog file (with the outdated historical data of all my ‘ancient’ actions) or abandon it.
Question 6: If such ‘cherry-picking’ is facilitated after all: Can you suggest any pragmatic description of the potential (competing) ways of categorizing images efficiently, comparing them along the pros and contras?
I also lose the virtual copies. Anyway, I am confused regarding the actual storage of the retouching-related data of virtual copies. In some websites one can find relatively old posts, stating that the XMP file contains all information about modifying/adjusting both the original photo and its virtual copy/copies. However, when fiddling with a virtual copy I cannot see any change in the size of the associated XMP file. In addition, when I copy the original NEF file and its XMP file, rename them, and import these derivative files, only the retouched original image comes up – I cannot see any virtual copy. This suggests that the XMP file does not contain information on the virtual copy/copies…
For this reason whenever multiple versions seem to be reasonable, I create renamed version(s) of the same NEF+XMP files, import them, and make some changes in their settings. I know, this is far not a sophisticated solution…
Question 7: Where and how the settings of virtual copies are stored?
Question 8: Is it possible to generate separate XMP files for both the originally retouched image and its virtual copy/copies and to make them recognized by LR when importing them into a new catalog?

A part of my problems may be caused by selecting LR for a challenging private project, where image retouching activities result in bigger than average volume of adjustment data. Consequently, the catalog file becomes huge and vulnerable.
While I understand that something has gone wrong for you, causing Lightroom to be slow and unstable, I think you are combining many unrelated ideas into a single concept, and winding up with a mistaken idea. Just because you project is challenging does not mean Lightroom is unsuitable. A bigger than average volume of adjustment data will make the catalog larger (I don't know about "huge"), but I doubt bigger by itself will make the catalog "vulnerable".
The causes of instability and crashes may have NOTHING to do with catalog size. Of course, the cause MAY have everything to do with catalog size. I just don't think you are coming to the right conclusion, as in my experience size of catalog and stability issues are unrelated.
2. I may be wrong, but in my experience the size of the RAW file may significantly blow up the amount of retouching-related data.
Your experience is your experience, and my experience is different. I want to state clearly that you can have pretty big RAW files that have different content and not require significant amounts of retouching. It's not the size of the RAW that determines the amount of touchup, it is the content and the eye of the user. Furthermore, item 2 was related to image size, and now you have changed the meaning of number 2 from image size to the amount of retouching required. So, what is your point? Lots of retouching blows up the amount of retouching data that needs to be stored? Yeah, I agree.
When creating the catalog for the 1500 NEF files (21 GB), the starting size of the catalog file was around 1 GB. This must have included all classification-related information (the meaningful part of which was practically nothing, since I had not used rating, classification, or collections). By the time of the crash half of the files had been processed, so the actual retouching-related data (that should have been converted properly into the XMP files) might be only around 500 MB. Consequently, probably 22.5 GB out of the 24 GB of the catalog file contained historical information
I don't know exactly what you do to touch up your photos, I can't imagine how you come up with the size should be around 500MB. But again, to you this problem is entirely caused by the size of the catalog, and I don't think it is. Now, having said that, some of your problem with slowness may indeed be related to the amount of touch-up that you are doing. Lightroom is known to slow down if you do lots of spot removal and lots of brushing, and then you may be better off doing this type of touch-up in Photoshop. Again, just to be 100% clear, the problem is not "size of catalog", the problem is you are doing so many adjustments on a single photo. You could have a catalog that is just as large, (i.e. that has lots more photos with few adjustments) and I would expect it to run a lot faster than what you are experiencing.
So to sum up, you seem to be implying that slowness and catalog instability are the same issue, and I don't buy it. You seem to be implying that slowness and instability are both caused by the size of the catalog, and I don't buy that either.
Re-reading your original post, you are putting the backups on the SSD, the same disk as the working catalog? This is a very poor practice, you need to put your backups on a different physical disk. That alone might help your space issues on the SSD.

• Njawin - jcomgen and some general questions

Hi.
I'm currently evaluating njawin, and some questions came up:
Will there be a command line interface for jcomgen?
The interactive GUI isn't really suitable for an automated build process.
njawin compared to jawin:
njawin seems to be more advanced, but there's no source available.
Does anybody know if this will change in the future?
regards,
roman

Carl,
The njawin distribution available for "evaluation" download around the web comes with no license, as it is a version of OLE for Java (OLEJA), a commercial product, which was developed before OLEJA went retail.
One thing you'll notice is that OLEJA and Njawin have remarkably similar APIs. If your application's functionality does not have very complex requirements, you can simply replace all references to "oleja" with "njawin", and all references to "compose" with "develop". This holds true for the generated .java files, the .xml file, etc. I am not sure if OLEJA introduces or uses more APIs than the ones that appeared in Njawin, but for my application, this approach was successful.
One other thing to keep in mind is that I don't see why you'd actually need to build your sources into a jar, if you simply include them in a larger package as part of your application's source code. Just put njawin.jar, njawin.dll, and yourdll.dll on the build path and the rest of your problems should be solved for you. Keep in mind that, since OLEJA is commercialized, it's been debugged a lot (as the author has stated in mailing lists) and that means Njawin could have some unexpected problems. In this case you should thoroughly test your usage of Njawin with your application to be sure it runs well in your environment. Errors that could potentially crash your JVM may appear when certain functionality (especially multi-threaded functionality) inside your ActiveX control is executed.

Sean McNamara

• Some questions on whitespace and &

Dear all,
I have some questions on whitespace and & that need you kind help:
1. Except /n /t /r and space, is there any characters that are whiteSpace characters?
2. When parsing XML document, when the ignorableWhitespace() method is called? Will it be called from characters() ?
e.g. Where the white space after is called, and where is the white space between test1 and test 2 indied is called?

test1 test2
3. When the & should be escaped in a well-formed (or validated) XML file by replacing &?
It should be excaped in any element content, such as test1 & test2< /b> - except for section?
It should NOT always be used in attributes? e.g. - has to do escaped by entity & - am I right?
Thanks!
Thanks

Thanks DrClap.
>
2. When parsing XML document, when the
ignorableWhitespace() method is called? Will it be
called from characters() ?It will be called when the document has a DTD and the
parser is a validating one that is actually
validating, when the parser sees whitespace that is
not part of a DTD element. It will not be called from
characters() because that is a method that you write.I wrote a contentHandler and using Xerces parser to parse an XML document. When I set validating feature to false, I found that for:

test1 test2The white space between and (including newline) is actually called from characters(), not in ignorableWhitespace(). So does this mean that if validating - white space is always called from ignorableWhitespace(), and if not validating, if it is always called from characters()?
>
3. When the & should be escaped in a well-formed(or
validated) XML file by replacing &? The XML Recommendation says "The ampersand character
(&) and the left angle bracket (<) may appear
in their literal form only when used as markup
delimiters, or within a comment, a processing
instruction, or a CDATA section. If they are needed
elsewhere, they must be escaped using either numeric
character references or the strings "&" and
"<" respectively."So in this sense, both & in test1 & test2< /b> and is illegal unless replacing them by & - right? What does the markup delimiters mena in above XML Recommendation ? Example?
Thanks!

Is there any way to get more VRAM to play games on steam?
I've learned by reading other topics that I can't upgrade my graphics card on my Macbook Pro because it's soldered into the motherboard or somthing like that, but please tell me if there is any way to get more video ram by chaning some setting or upgrading something else. I'd also like to know why I only have 256MB of VRAM when I have 8GB of RAM, since I have 8GB of RAM I thought I was supposed to have 560mb of VRAM...
So the two questions are...
Is there any way to upgrade my VRAM, so that I can play games on steam?
Why do I only have 256MB VRAM when I have 8GB total RAM?
Other Info:

The only two items that a user can change on a MBP are the RAM and HDD (Retinas not included). You have what the unit came with and the only way you will be able to change that is to purchase a MBP with superior graphics
If you are very much into gaming, the I suggest A PC. They are far superior for that type of application to a MBP.
Ciao.

i recently found my ibook and decided to see if it would still turn on. it did but i got this flashing question mark, i did some research into this and found out that the hard drive is the cause. so i opened it up replaced the hard drive and closed it up, booted from the disc and crossed my fingers but it did not pick up the hard drive. i thought it might not have been installed properly, so i opened it up to check the connections to make shure they were secure and closed it back up but now it wont even boot from the disc. so dose anyone know whats wrong with it because i really don't just want throw it away if its a simple fix. please if anyone know i would greatly appreciate it.

There often were more than one build of Apple computer per model number designation...
In the instance of iBook (white dualUSB) there appear to be two with number A-1007.
And both of these were 14-inch display models.
•iBook G3/800 14-Inch (32 VRAM - Tr) 800 MHz PowerPC 750fx (G3)
•iBook G3/900 14-Inch (Early 2003 - Op) 900 MHz PowerPC 750fx (G3)
•Apple iBook Specs (All iBook Technical Specs) for entire series - everymac:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/index-ibook.html
There are a few fairly good repair guides online, some on http://iFixit.com site.
Here's the link to the early iBook G3 series, includes color + white dualUSB.
If your iBook is a 14-inch G3 white dualUSB model that one is there, too:
•iBook G3 Repair guides - iFixit:
https://www.ifixit.com/Device/iBook_G3
Either of these may be able to run a system no later than OS X Tiger 10.4.11.
So a system install disc set could be used to troubleshoot, install, restore &
prepare a replacement hard drive for a new system.
Not certain what the issues are behind your situation, there may be more than
meets the eye. Some models of iBook were more prone to hardware problems
and as they age, fewer opportunities to affordably repair them exist.
Good luck in resolving the iBook G3 issues...!

FICO-Invoice Parking and approval; Unable to complete some Config steps
I am using standard WF: WS10000051 (SAP template) in Accounts payable to get triggered for Invoice Parking-Approval and Posting.
One of the steps mentioned at help.sap.com is below;
1. Data for Event Linkage
Object type FIPP
Event CREATED
Receiver type WS10000051
Receiver module SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT
2. Check Function
Receiver type (function module)
Global X
Enabled X
I could get to 1. Data for Event Linkage which is T Code SWETYPV but could not find 2. Check Function.
Where do I set the parameters for : 2. Check Function in SAP

You dont need to assign the Check function module.
Check function module is used to prevent the workflow from triggering if the checks written in the function fail.
For eg. check if the invoice amount is GT 500. If yes trigger workflow else dont.

After I installed OS X Mountain Lion system, I can't use my Safari to log into my online banking and some other websites which require passwords. Can some one please help?

It could be browser incompatibility or something else. When you say you can't log in, what happens? Is the bank website generating an error saying you're not using a supported browser? Does the login form for your bank account display as usual, but once you submit the form to log in it doesn't work? Give me a specific step-by-step of what you're doing, such as...
1. I load bankofamerica.com
2. I type in my login
3. When I submit, the page does nothing
Obviously that may not be your issue, but giving us details like that will help us come to a quicker conclusion.

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox).
Or you could see if the second half of Kappy's reply in this thread helps : https://discussions.apple.com/message/20357006#20357006

• Some basic questions on ESS and MSS

Hi Experts,
This is the first time I am going to deal with
ESS and MSS.
I have some basic questions about it and they are
listed below:
1. In an organization if they want to integrate
ESS and MSS, how do they go about? What I mean
is, will they install the packages in the R/3
system and then use the to portal features to
make iViews of ESS and MSS.
2. Or is there a seperate package for the portal
and the R/3 system
3.What is the best way to customize ESS and MSS
iViews? Is WebDynpro used to customize ESS and
MSS applications, if yes how?
4. Are these ESS and MSS packages different for
ECC and the older version of R/3 systems? If yes what are the major differences?
Please do let me know on these subjects and also
if anyone of you have any links or documents
associated with this scenario please do send me.
Thank you
Regards
Luke

Hi,
here is what I know..
1 & 2. Depending on the backend SAP version, the relevant ESS/MSS Business Packages have to be installed on the Portal. On the backend it will be via an Add-on.
3. The webDynpro versions of ESS/MSS are available from mySAP ERP2004/2005 (ECC5/6). The best way to customize the iViews would be through the NetWeaver DevStudio.
ent
4. Yes, the ESS/MSS packages are differ depending on the backend SAP version.
You can find all the different packages & their info right here on SDN. From the home page click on the Portal Content Portfolio on the right hand side of the page>Browse Content Portfolio>Self Service for ESS & Line Manager for MSS.

• Blue Screen Errors on HP's And Some Dells

Microsoft recently released an official update that seems to cause some HP's to "bluescreen" on startup. The Dell update seems to be for the webcam
There's a VERY simple fix for this.
HP's
Restart your computer(press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds if you need to turn if off from the bluescreen)
While it is turning on tap the F8 key once a second until a text menu comes up
Arrow key down to Safe Mode with networking and press Enter
Windows will load, a bunch of files will scroll past, this is normal
After Windows loads, click Start > Accessories > System Restore
When the window pops up(it will take a few minutes sometimes); select "Different date" and choose the latest one that says Windows Update by it and click "next", and then confirm by clicking yes.
Your computer will then restart and undo the Windows update that caused the bluescreen.
If you're on an HP, that's all you have to do, Dells require a bit more work.
Dells
(Note, you will need internet access on the computer affected, or your restore disc labeled Drivers/Applications or this will not work)
Restart your computer(press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds if you need to turn if off from the bluescreen)
While it is turning on tap the F8 key once a second until a text menu comes up
Arrow key down to Safe Mode with networking and press Enter
Windows will load, a bunch of files will scroll past, this is normal
Go to your Control Panel and select "System" and then click on the Hardware tab.
Select Device Manager
In the list that comes up, click on Image, or Imaging Devices
Under that you should see something similar to "Integrated Webcam", right click and select "Uninstall"
Check the box that says Uninstall the software for this device and click OK
After it has finished, restart your computer normally.
Insert the Driver/Apps disc and go into the Dell Resource CD and find your webcam driver/install it
-or-
Go to http://dell.com and enter your Dell Service Tag(usually on the bottom/back of your computer) and make your way to the Drivers page for your model and download/install the webcam software
This will take about 5-30 minutes depending on your computer.
Note : This plays tricks on your anti virus programs and they may say your "definitions" are corrupt/out of date. This is also a simple fix, all you have do is run your AV programs update option and everything should be fixed.
Double note : This may or may not fix your problem if you have other issues. If you have any trouble, post here and I'll do my best to help. If you purchased your HP from Best Buy, and are within your warranty/service plan, most stores(as far as I know) are offering to fix this for free as it was not caused by the user.
Anything else, please ask
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

Still having trouble? Geek Squad® now has an official write-up, which you can see here:
