Withhodling tax on customer
Hi,
can any one tell me how deducte TDS on cuustomer
Thanks
Dear Paul,
You have to create a relevant WT TYPE, and a WT CODE. Then You have to link the WT TYPE to the Company Code, switching on the flag "Subjected to wt". Then You have to link the WT type to a G/L Account and then insert the WT TYPE and WT CODE into Your Customer master data with the relevant dates of validity.
Please do all and then test it.

Query on Config for a tax exempt customer
Hi,
In OVK3 (change View customer taxes) MWSI is defined in tax category.
Tax category in customer master sales area data is MWSI.
In FTXP, condition type MWSI is not defined.
Should i add MWSI in FTXP?
If yes, how will i configure it.
If i have added this condition type, will i be able to process transaction for a tax exempt customer?
Thank you so much and best regards.
RachelleDear Rachelle
No need. Just go to FTXP, input country of origin, tax code and maintain only the following:-
Acct Key::::Tax %:::::::Cond.Type
EX2:::::::::::100.00:::::::::JMOD
CES:::::::::::2.000::::::::::JECS
SEC:::::::::::1.000::::::::::JA1X
Save the FTXP. Now go to VK11, input UTXJ and maintain the above tax code and save. Create a sale order and see how it works.
thanks

Withholding Tax for Customer Down Payment F-29
Dear all,
I have configured the withholding tax and it works fine for the AP: invoice, payment, advance payment.
However I encountered problem for AR side: customer down payment (F-29). During the payment there is a "withholding tax" button that once you click a pop-up window will appear to enable you enter the withholding tax data.
My problem is no withholding pop up window appear and no error message as well. Thus I am unable to enter the withholding tax data.
The customer has been assigned with withholding tax type and withholding tax code. I follow the follow documentation for the configuration steps and it works well on AP side.
http://www.sapficoconsultant.com/Bonus/Extended%20Withholding%20tax%20configuration.pdf
Can you please kindly advise if there is any missing step need to be performed for withholding tax configuration for customer? How to solve the above issue?
thank you very much in advance.
DahliaHi Umesh,
Thank you very much for your quick respond.
Yes, I forget to mentioned in my previous email, I have done the following in the customer master:
1. Assigned withholding tax type and withholding tax code.
2. Enter the validity date from and to.
3. Check the withholding tax checkbox in customer master.
However the F-29 still do not have a withholding tax window pop-up.
Any other things that I need to do?
Thanks a lot.

In the withholding tax base exemption amount field you can specify an amount which is deducted when calculating the with holding tax base. The amount of the tax exemption does not have any effect when matching the withholding tax base with the minimum, because the base and the minimum are matched before the tax-exempt amount is deducted.

Shan1242Dear Shan
I have also gone through some notes on withholding tax including help menu. What I said earlier holds good. I dont think in India, withholding tax is applicable to customers. May be it is applicable to customers in United Kingdom as indicated in the link. Please go thru.
[Classic Withholding Tax|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/e5/0780914acd11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm]
It is also better to consult with some FI experts and let me know whether I am correct.
Thanks

Regards,
SankarFirst create new doc type using UB for this kind of transfer and allow the Stock transfer item category only with std reqs and NB reqs in the Config SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Purchase order- Define document types.
Then go to SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Purchase order-set up stock transfer order-
Here you have to do the settings for your plant
1) define shipping data for plant (first create the customer for this plant)
2) assign delivery type NL
3) Assign Document Type, One-Step Procedure, Underdelivery Tole
In this step assign same plant as supplying plant and plant
Then whae you create STO header plant and item plant will be same but the storage location will be different -
Check tax classification Customer creation (IDOC)
Hi all,
I am a beginner in SAP Abap and i need some help to resolve my IDOC problem.
I want to generate Customer migration. my segments for the IDOC are filled. I use the IDOC_INBOUND_WRITE_TO_DB to create my IDOCs. Also for some customers, an error occur with status 51 saying : Check tax classification; maintenance is incomplete.
Or in the E1KNVIM segment, the tax code is filled as follow :
CLEAR ds_e1knvim.
ds_e1knvim-msgfn = '009'.
ds_e1knvim-tatyp = ds_tax-tatyp.
ds_e1knvim-taxkd = ds_tax-taxkd.
and in the we19 transaction, i have tried to launch it foreground
with the tax code filled correctelly.
but the batch-input don't fill the tax code case.
But for some other customers, the tax code case is filled correctelly?
Did i messid something ?
Thanks for your answers.Hi Julius,

Hi all,
I have situation, in which when i try to create customer for the country IE, for some reason under the Tax field for customer I have two country's defined as below
GB United Kingdom MWUK Output Tax
IE Ireland MWST Output Tax
I am not understanding why and from where its picking GB. As i would have thought only IE should be displayed,
Hope somebody could help!1Hi,
The tax classification view of the customer master is not sales org specific though it appears in the sales org specific data. This view is common for all the tax related purposes and is relevant for all the company codes.
So, if a tax category is linked to a country in FTXP and this condition type is included in the tax procedure of a country, then automatically, the combination of the country and the tax category will be populated in this view. This is in the table KNVI. For this combination, you have to maintain the tax classification when you are getting into the customer master in change mode (the sales area data doesnot really matter. Even if you change the sales area which is not GB, the tax related data for GB will appear in this view as this view alone is not sales area specific but is applicable for entire tax determination)
Hope this helps you. If you have any doubts on this, please let me know. -
Hello,
Can two condition types be maintained in the customer master level. We are rolling new tax calculation process from SAP to external tax calculation however it will be in phases so there is an requirement to add new condition type in the customer master
till all the countries move to external tax and these two conditions work in parallel .
Regards,
AmyI hope you were meant to say tax classification and not tax condition type. We do not maintain any condition type in customer master.
If that is the case, yes you can maintain different tax classification in customer master in Sales Area Data > Billing document tab. Parallely, in V/07, you have to assign tables like 293, 341, 368 etc. to differentiate your tax and maintain the same in VK11.
thanks

Tax/Reporting Customer Pick Up and Ship-to address
How have you seen customer pickups handled for sales and tax reporting?
In one case, I've seen answers that it is common business practice to leave the ship-to address as the customer address that is the ultimate end destination (example Ontario, Canada), rather than where title passes at the pick up/ship-from location (example Michigan, US). One rationale is that the sale is to the customer at the end destination (for sales reporting and other purposes) and another is that customers' use their invoice for export and foreign tax purposes (when transporting goods across international borders) to prove where the product will ultimately go.The situation is actually more complex than Shel indicated. In some US states, different items are taxed at different rates for all customers (e.g., food vs non-food items), or may be taxed differently for different customer types (e.g., a customer that is a manufacturer may be taxed at one rate for capital equipment, another rate for tools, and not at all for raw materials, while a different customer may be charged at the same tax rate for all items). If a customer sells in multiple states, they have to accomodate all of these rules. What is needed is some kind of reference for taxing by item group/customer group/ship-to address. It should be optional, but if used it should override the normal tax code functionality.

IPhoto Calendar - Charged import Tax by Customs!
Purchased a Calendar before Christmas through iPhoto using the built in templates and service. Paid and received the calendar no problem.
However this week I have received an overdue payment invoice from FedEx, claiming there are unpaid import taxes on the Calendar I received from Apple.
I am based in the UK and checked my invoices from apple, which clearly shows I have paid the 15% VAT required in this country.
Anyone else experience an issue like this? If so whats the quickest and easiest way of sorting this without having to initially pay the amount due?
Many thanks.
VinceThanks TD,
Well just to keep this thread updated for anyone who maybe following it or have similar issues in future. Update so far:
Contacted FedEx, they can not help in this issue as it does not matter where the item(s) were printed (EU country or US). The parcel was collected by FedEx in the US and apparently shipped to the UK, thus as far as they are concerned, import duty is still outstanding on it.
Contacted Apple, no response as yet!!
All seems a little odd, as these calendars are printed in a EU country, so why they would then need to be shipped to the US to get sent to the UK seems a little odd.
FedEx did mention they have had a lot of these invoice issues with Apple!! -
