how to raise condition in SQVI
when accessing the data from DBase without using query (i,e using SQVI) i need to raise the condition BWART = '101' from the table EKBE.

Hi!
Both SQVI (Quickview) and SQ01 (Query) are using the same data source type: Infosets.
Infosets can be maintained in SQ02 transaction. Within infosets you can write your conditions, for example within the selection screen.

Yes : I have to execute query on the corresponding vop.
No : before execute query on child
No Need
suppose you have a VL between 2 vos line P->C then when you execute query for P, it points before first record by default.
Now when you move your cursor over P records then corresponding child VOS gets filtered automatically, according to the VL you have defined.
So inorder to get a proper child records you need to consider 2 things.
1.) There should be proper VL between attrs in corrosponding vos.
2.) then your parent should point to proper record to filter your child.
Is there any way I can retrieve on child VO directly?Yes,
in application module you can retrive child vo by name like
ViewObjectImpl voChild = (ViewObjectImpl)findViewObject("xx_VO1");similarly you can get reference to child vo from binding layer in viewcontroller, or backing beans

Saving Workbooks without query results in NW2004s BEx SP10

Hi All,
We are currently setting up all of our workbooks, but cannot find the setting which deletes all the query results in the workbook which we had in BW3.5.
Use to be in Tools > All Queries in Workbook > Delete Results.
Noticed another post about this, but could not find the answer.
Any help appreciated.

Put in an OSS note about this. The feature may be returned to BI7 in the future. It has not been carried through from BW3.5.
You should be warey though and ensure that your sensitive workbooks have the data manually deleted out of them as you can find the workbook with the find utility pretty easily and view the data which has been previously saved. With correct permissions in place you cannot reload fresh data though.

How to create static tree nodes without query

I modified my example to show an extra level for the employees.
But I can't say that I fully understand what you are trying to do. You say you don't want to use links, but you want to use the tree for the navigation of pages. And you say that all the names are static, yet there is a node saying 'show employee' ...

but the problem is when we are inserting the new record after click to save the record first saves the data in the Db and then it appears on the grid.
Is it possible to do reverse of the above :
first it comes to the grid and then after click to save it save to the database.

How to call SAP query in a program

Hi experts
I have created a query in SQVI its gives a result. Now i want this query to be used in my program. Is there any FM which gets the quary name and populates the result in iternal table. So that i can use that result.
I know without query you can write using the tables you can fetch the records but i just want to explore a new way to do things. If any body done such type let me know and also give some sample code or process how to achieve it.

My final option is that only. That you can do any how. But my intension is to learn something new way. How to do copy the query and where to inject the code is there any example in wiki or artical for that. I want to something new. Old way of creating a report program is possible i want to do this way. If some body could help me out.

I have generated the SAP query and i got the program but when i view the code i dont find any select statment or where storing my input data. How to identity that i did in debug mode but am not sure where it pulls the data and where it put in internal table. Can you throw some light with example code or an article.

Report using either query or direct value

Hi,
I'm using Reports 6i.
I'm having a report in which most of the content is static text. only 1 or 2 values i'm fetching from database to fill up the content.
I have a requirement like, if the user directly supply this value, then i have to run this report with the provided value without querying.
In case they dont suppy the values, then the report should query and take values from the database.
Whether such a report is possible?

But if P_Param is not null then the report should take the parameter value and run the report.
Suppose my report contents is like this
This is a test report run by USERWhere user is the field.
If i supply user say as 'Divya' , then i should get the output as
This is a test report run by DivyaIf i didn supply user, and instead another parameter say id is supplied, then it should query and take the username and run
Both should happen in single report.
As you suggested, if the user param is null, then nothing comes.
This is just a sample case i told. my original req involves more than one param

When we are downloading the 'Top Queries by Month' or 'Top Queries by Day' report, while we see numbers in 'Total Queries' and '% of all queries' columns, we are not finding anything in 'Query Text' column, its empty. Not sure while the analytics is
not able to fetch/report the 'Query Text' itself - the report doesnt make any sense without 'Query Text' information.
Is there anything in the web part markup I pasted above- is any of the property value is affecting this?
Or it can be some configuration/error with the logging/analytics process?

"Source not found" Error creating URL Data control with query parameters

Hi,
I have a restful service for which i want to create a URL data control. I am able to create the URL data control successfully when i am not passing any parameters in the Source field. But if i am specifying the parameters in the source field like this Department=##ParamName##, something weird is happening. After giving the param string in the Source field, it asks for default param value to test the url. It tests the url successfully. After that i select XML as the data format in which i am mentioning the xsd like this . "file:///C:/..../something.xsd" . And this is when i am getting the error. "Invalid Connection. The source is not found". I am giving exactly same path for xsd which i gave while creating URL data control without query parameters. Infact i was able to create the URL data control with query parameters successfully till afternoon. after that it started giving me this error all of a sudden. Infact as soon as i was able to create a URL data contol with query parameter successfully, i took a backup of the application before moving further. But even that backup is not working now.
As far as i understand, i dont think there will be any change in xsd if query params are passed to a web service. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Just dont know what could be the issue. Please help

Querying the output of a batch/scheduled report

We haven't move to Discoverer Viewer as of now. One of the questions I have to those who have already implemented it is, can you schedule a batch report in the viewer and then users are able to query the RESULT of it without querying back the database? We have concerns on performance during the day so scheduling reports to run at night would be convenient for us.

In the concurrent program screen, select options . Under Notify the following person, eneter the email address where output needs to be sent.
Other option could be to create a send mail package and call that from after report trigger of report. The email address can be inputed as a parameter. For more information for this visit

The third option could be to call the report from a shell script program and after report is completed email the output using mailx functionality.

Inner join query used with 7 Database tables

HI All,
In a report they used the Inner join Query with 6 Data base table..now there is a performance issue with at query.
its taking so much of time to trigger that query. Please help how to avoid that performance issue for that.
In that 2 database tables containing lakhs of records..
According to my knowledge it can be avoided by using secondary indexs for those 2 database tables..
and by replacing the Inner join Query with FOR ALL ENTRIES statement.
i want how to use the logic by using FORALL ENTRIES statement for this..
So, please give you proper suggestion to avoid this issue..

And what do you mean with "they used"? If "SAP used" then yo will need to ask a SAP for note
FOR ALL ENTRIES is quite good described in help. Please search forum also.
Without query it won't be possible to tell how it can be optimized, however you can try to use SE30/SAT and ST05. Maybe it will help you.

Detach a query from workbook

Dear all,
We'd like to detach a query from a workbook in BI7.0.
In BW35 thre was the possibility to do so under option 'Tools'.
Does anybody know how to do this in BI70?
I saw a workaround in earlier thread: delete data provider in design mode. But if I do so I lose my data.

Thanks for your response. I'm aware of this functionality, but this is not what the endusers like.
They like to store the output (query result) as a 'flat' excelfile without any relation to the query.
This saves a lot of diskspace. With the query attached the file is 10 Mb and without 'query attached it's 1 Mb.
So I just need the output.

Packages without specification are not displayed V1.5.4

When a package body without a specification is specified (of course the object is invalid), so the package is not displayed in the package list.
The only way to remove it is via command drop package body xyz, but how to find them, without querying the catalog views?

Tested with FF6 beta. MouseCursors do show again
