WLC 2100 configuration

Hello,

when I configure the controller with basic configurations , I can not access the webmode anymore with the management ip interface.
can you help me please.
Br
Yamani

Hi Yamini,
Issue the command "show network summary" on the WLC cli and verify whether the WEBMODE is enabled.. if not then issue the command..
"config network webmode enable"  and try accessing the GUI.. if we have enabled the Webmode and still not able to access then, check for the duplicate IP assigned...

  • I need to intergrate WLC 2100 with ACS 5.0

i have a cisco ACS version 5.0, I need to authenticate a wireless users connected to WLC 2100 controller
when i connect the controller to a Dot1x port in the switch , the port go down.
    if any help

    Laith,
Nicolas is right about the dot1x switchport.  If you want to authenticate all users on a specific SSID using 802.1x, then you will need to configure the radius serve in your WLC under Security | Radius | Authentication.  Then on the WLAN SSID, you need to set the radius server information on the WLAN | SSID | Security | AAA.  I suppose the radius already has a certificate installed since you are using dot1x on the switch side.

I've tried to access the GUI using WI-FI and it worked perfectly, but i still can't access using ethernet, please give me advices!
Is there a way to upgrade WLC IOS using wireless?
    Thx

Go to console of the WLC & post "show interface detail management" output. In WLC Which ports connect back to switch & what is the switch port configuration looks like ?
In the switch, post "show run interface x/x" where x/x is connecting to your 2106.

  • WLC 2100 and DHCP strange issue.

    Hi,
i have this scenario: 1 WLC 2100 and two LW AP 3500 connected. If the access points are connected via external switch evrything works well - AP and Clients get IP address from external DHCP and this is ok but when im connecting AP 3500 directly to one of ports on WLC i need to chceck in controller web Controller -> Advanced -> DHCP -> Enable DHCP proxy - after that AP get IP addres and clients get too but ip is assigned from external dhcp but the gateway is set as controller IP address (!!!) so clients not works. I want to configure access points connected directly do WLC.
I have small setup and i have configured all in the one vlan - management dla users are in the same vlan.
And the second is - for what usage is internal DHCP server - and how to use it?

When "Enable DHCP Proxy" is not enabled tha LW AP 3500 cannot get IP address if it is connected directly to LWC... when i add this option then on both LW AP 3500 - one connected to WLC and second directly to switch give me DHCP address from external DHCP but gateway sets as LWC management IP.
I made test - connected client witout "Enable DHCP Proxy":
Client IP 192.168.1.201 (correct in dhcp server logs), default GW 192.168.1.1 (correct gateway for this DHCP) correct dnses and in windws ipconfig i see "Server DHCP 192.168.1.1" all is correct.
Disconnected client and clicked "Enable DHCP Proxy":
Client IP 192.168.1.201 (correct in dhcp server logs), default GW  192.168.1.252 incorrect gateway - ip of WLC management interface) correct dnses and in windws  ipconfig i see "Server DHCP 1.1.1.1" that shows that WLC modified DHCP packets... but what it try to set default GW as WLC?
    WLC data:
    Software Version

  • Issue in connecting to WLC 2100 via switch

Hi there,    I am trying to setup my lap with a new WLC 2100. but failed to connect to the WLC via second switch.
In WLC 2100,  fa0/2 connect to the second switch, Fa0/1 connect to PC.
In second switch 3560, it's fa0/2  connect to the WLC as trunk port. port fa0/1 is in vlan 1
Management int ip in WLC is 192.168.1.1  in VLAN 1 assoicarted with port is fa0/1,   the PC ip is 192.168.1.2.
When PC connect via fa0/1 in WLC, I can ping 192.168.1.1 from PC.  but connect PC to fa0/1 in 3560, no reply.
To my understanding, fa0/2 in WLC is trunk port by default and the vlan1 is allowed, since fa0/2 in 3560 also configured trunk, there is no reason, why I can not ping the WLC.   any suggestion ?

    Hi Guys,
I have just configure the WLC as above and the result is nagtive.

plug PC directly to the WLC fa0/1 no reply. (was replying first time when I configure the WLC)

  • WLC 2100 Series Rack Mount Option

I am having a tough time finding the rackmount kit for the 2100 series Wireless Lan Controllers. Will the ASA5505-RACK-MNT= work?

    Hi David,
    Yes, this is the correct part to use :) I am guessing the ASA 5505 and WLC 2100 must use the same chassis;

  • WLC - Wlapp configurations problems

    Hello,
I have connected the WCS to Wlc and WLC to AP
after giving the WLC basic configurations and AP management ip add, still i can not see the AP from the controller.
should I configure each ap manually and give it an ip add ? or it is enough to put the AP management ip add in the controller?

If you can actually manage the WLC using the WCS, you can "force" the WCS to "discover" the AP attached to this WLC.
Simply, in Controller tab, select your WLC and in the upper right list select "refresh config from controller" and GO, then WCS ask you if you want to keep the configuration of the WLC stored in WCS database or "refresh" it deleting the actual configuration; check delete and Go.
Finally, You can review if the AP now is shown by the WCS or not.
    Best Regards.

  • Wlc 2100 error

Just purchased and installed a Cisco WLC 2100. I am  getting the following message on the controller:Decrypt errors occurred for client 00:18:de:82:eb:57 using WPA2 key on 802.11b/g
The client is connecting but I am not getting a dhcp address.

    Hugh,
What code verson is running on the WLC?  If you are running any 6.0 other than 6.0 199.0, then you need to upgrade as there are some nasty bugs in the other 6.0s.  One of which allows a client to associate, but then not be able to get an IP and all you see on the controller is decrypt messages.  There is a software advisory for these issues:
    http://www.cisco.com/web/software/Wireless/Deferral/Software_Advisory_6_0_196_0.html

  • Switchports of wlc 2100 dont bridge to rest of the LAN

    Hi,
I've configured several WLC's before but I'm new to the 2100 series. I'm a bit confused in the way the 8 ports function. I have the following setup:
    2 AP's (1131AG)
    3 clients's (wired)
All five connected to WLC on ports 8,7,6,5,4
WLC port 1 is connected to a 24 port switch, non Cisco, so no CDP info available (may that matter).
The whole network should be an untagged Vlan. This is also the way I've runned the basic setup. AP int + MGM int are both untagged configured on port 1.
So I would like the 8 ports to function as an "expansion" to the 24 port switch. But for some reason there is no traffic possible between the wired clients+ap's on the WLC and the rest of the network.
Both sides can ping the AP int + MGM int of the WLC.
DHCP proxy works as well, the AP's get their IP, the wired client's dont.
As soon as the AP tries to resolve CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.domain.local it fails, when connected to the 24 port switch, it succeeds, because the DNS server is on that side.
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks for your help!
Update: WLC is running the latest version7

The ports on the 2106 are designed to support AP connections or an uplink to a switch.  They will not work with PC's connected to them.

  • SSLV3 poodle on WLC 2100

    Hi everyone,
Seems as per cisco all WLC --5500/2100 etc are effected by sslv3.
Need to know if there is any config change that can be done without doing version upgrade?
    Regrads
    Mahesh

If you do not want users to connect to a web page using a browser that is configured with SSLv2 only, you can disable SSLv2 for web authentication by entering the config network secureweb cipher-option sslv2 disable command. If you enter this command, users must use a browser that is configured to use a more secure protocol such as SSLv3 or later releases. The default value is disabled.

So in a nutshell, from My computer I can ping all VLANS - everything seems to in workding order.
when telnet to the HP 5406zl core routing switch I can ping all VLANs and other parts of the network
But when logged into the Cisco wireless Lan Controller I cant ping VLAN 108 gateway IP (172.24.156.2 ) from the neighbour switch or other services on this VLAN
for example cant ping the DHCP on this vlan from WLC.
The neighbour switch can ping IP of the management interface created on the WLC
    WLC cant ping VLAN 108
WLC can ping all other VLAN 102,104,106
Not sure where the problem is ??
Configure Dynamic Interfaces on the WLC for the Guest and Internal Users - DONE
Create WLANs for the Guest and Internal Users - DONE
Configure the 5406zl Layer 2/3 Switch Port that Connects to the WLC as Trunk Port allowing the relevant vlans i.e. management vlan, vlan 102 and Vlan 108 - DONE
Configure the Switch Port that Connects to the AP to VLAN 102 - DONE
configure virtual interface IP 1.1.1.1 - DONE
Configure the Router for the WLANs - DONE
LAP is registered to the WLC - DONE
WLAN and SSID broadcast - OK

Not at present it is not, the port on the 5406zl that the WLC is connected was setup as a trunk group and All VLAN tagged.  When I tried this I lost all connectivity to the WLC.  Is there something on the WLC that need changing also?.
