WM - Storage Type Replenishment

Hi everyone !
I have a little problem with the storage type replenishement in WM.
I configured two replenishment movements for 2 storage types :
- First one for a storage type that manage the base unit of measure "pieces", and that has a "capacity check" based on material and a putaway strategy "I" (addition to existing stock).
- Second one for a storage type that uses the Storage Unit "Case" and uses a putaway strategy "L".
Then I configured the replenishement as "Transfer Order (random) imm.".
I have correct data in the material master.
The problem is that the system does not create any TO when confirming the TO that pass under the mimum stock.
It has worked once with the first replenishment movement, but configured with the putaway strategy "L", and without the Capacity Check (without any complication).
I think this is a problem during the automatic creation of the TO, maybe due to palletization data proposed during the automatic TO creation...
Does anyone has an idea ?
Thanks
Remi

When ever the stock level in a fixed bin for a particular storage type goes below the min bin qty replenishment is triggred automatically by running RLLNACH1 or manually by LP21 which creates TRs.And TRs are converted to TOs.
In your question you have given the Material, Warehouse
and Storage type only fixed bin is not there.
In the Material Master WM 2 view you need to maintian the fixed bin in storage bin field and the max bin qty and min
bin qty and the replenishment qty in their respective fields.
Configuration:
==========
Spro >> LE >> WM >> Activities >> Transfers >> Define Stock Transfers and Replenishment Control
Click on Maintian WM movement types and check whether replenishment movement type 320 (Std) is maintained.
Double click and maintain a value e.g 1 in the Ref stor type search field
And the same value 1 should be maintianed in the storage type search as below
Spro>> LE >> WM >> Strategies >> Activate Storage type search >> Define Search Sequence
Whse: oper: Typ In: stkcat: Splstk: Stoclass: Wpc
200 A XXX
Ref sto type sto loc 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 .....
1 210
xxx is the type in mentioned in the MMR in WM view 1 in stk removal field.
F3 Back
Click on Define Replenishment Control for Storage Type
whse storage type Mtyp Repl. Replenish
200 210 320 1
Then execute transaction LP21 and enter the parameters like plnt, sloc, whse, sto type, Sto bin (Fixed bin in MMR),Material
Executing will create TR when Stock level is below the min bin qty.
TR can be converted to TO.

• WM Replenishment for storage type

Hi there,
I implemented the replenishment solution for a fixed bin and is working well.
But our bussiness needs to use the replenishment for several bins located on one storage type. In other words, we need a replenishmente not for a fixed bin.
I tried to find out the way but all the doucumentation that I got is useing the replenishment solution only for fixed bin.
Somebody could let me know if there is a solution for that or SAP can not manage it in other way?.
Best regards.
Claudio

You can try with Random Bin Management in the repleneishment process. We have implemented this solution. It worked fine with us.

• Replenishment Order in WM storage type

Hi xpert

• LP24--Replenishment for Storage Types with Random Space Management

Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the SAP Community Network so thanks in advance for all your input. I've seen numerous posts that have improved my understanding of SAP already.
My question is about LP24. I would like to know if there is a configuration that will prevent invalid replenishment requirements from being listed with other materials that require materials staging and conversion to transfer order.
Here is my problem. We have thousands of materials, with valid replenishment indicators set that are either out of stock or all stock is in the forward pick storage type already. However, I am required to click through all of the invalid requirements to assure that I pick up my valid requirements (materials with additional stock in an overstock storage type that can be replenished to a forward pick storage type). Is there any way to filter the invalid requirements out?
Thanks again for all your insight.

Im facing similar situation.

• Replenishment From SU Managed Bulk Storage Type

Hi Experts,
We are trying to implement Immediate TO Creation Random Bin Management from a SU Managed Bulk Storage Type.
Our scenario is the following:
We have a SU Managed Bulk Stype: Stype 702
We have a SU Managed Stype with Putaway Strategy "P": Stype 701
We have material 11000026 and we define the following in WM View 2:
Max Qt: 6000
Min Qt: 2000
Replenishment Qt: 3000
Whenever a delivery TO from 701 is confirmed, and the stock level of material 11000026 in SType 701 drops below the Min. Qt, we need the system to immediately generate a replenishment TO: 3000 kg from Source SType 702 to Destination SType 701.
So far we have done the following:
Created a WM.Mov.Type 721, for which Manual TO creation is not allowed and with Ref.Stor.type Search 721.
We defined Replenishment Control for SType 701: with Replenishment Mov.Type 721 and Replenishment Technique 2.
Created SType Indicator with Operation A and Ref.Stor.type Search 721; in the sequence the first and only SType is Stype 702.
We assigned the SType Indicator to Material in WM View 1.
Whenever we actually confirm a delivery TO from 701 and the stock level drops below the min Qt., the system is not generating the immediate TO. What is the correct configuration or how can I achieve our request?
(The configuration described above works perfectly between STypes that have both the same Putaway Strategy, "P")
Thank you,
Leonidas Oyaga

Hi Mihailo,
Just tried running Tx. LT0R. I get Error Message No. L3009: "no destination storage bin to be found in storage type 701."
(Before doing this, I deleted ID Point 711 from SType 701).
I believe the issue is related to the relationship between SU Managed Bulk SType (702) and SType 701. In 702 stock in a storage bin can be identified based on the SU. However, when creating the TR or OT the system is not able to find a destination storage bin because the quantity taken from a storage bin in 702 is greater than the max quantity allowed in a single storage bin in 701. As if when picking the quantities it is trying to deliver the whole quantity to a single storage bin instead of transfering each SU (1000 KG per SU) to a different storage bin.
For Instance:
Material 11000026 Stype 701
Min Qt: 2000
Max Qt: 6000
Replenishment Qt: 4000
Storage Bin Capacity in 701: 1000
When stock level drops belowe Min. Qt, and the system tries to do replenishment from 702 by delivering 4000, the system is not able to find a storage bin in storage type 701 because it excedes the storage bin capacity.

• WM : Automatic replenishment TO for fixed bin from warious storage types

Hi Gurus,
We have storage type 011 - fixed Bin storage type , 022 - self Storage and 055 - High Rack Storage. Also we have set up for automatic TO creation for fixed bin in fixed bin storage type when stock falls below minimum fixed bin quantity.
My problem is : system only creates TO when there is some stock in 055 - High Rack Storage. If there is no stock in 055 system doesn't create any TO. But there's lots of stock in 011( other than fixed bin) and 022.
we want system to serch for 055/ 022/ 011 sequence. So if there is no stock in 055, it should go for 022 and then 011.
Can anyone advise me on this? I will be really grateful.
Kind Regards

Hi,

• Production Order backflush creating Negative in Storage Type

Hi All,
We have setup storage types into which stock is replenished based on Min/Max. These storage types have been setup in a control cycle and supply area to backflush upon confirmation of the production order.
I know this is user error, but when doing confirmation (CO15) or clearing COGI the user enters a batch not in one of those storage types (but available at IM level), it creates a negative in these storage types for that batch even though the storage types are setup NOT to allow negative stock.
Is there any other setting or any notes that can be applied to avoid this issue?
Thanks
J

OSS note 489754:
The settings in Customizing which define that no negative stocks are allowed for the storage type, have only an effect on the transfer orders. In addition, you must also set message L9040 as an error message. For this, call up the Customizing and branch to: 'Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Interfaces -> Inventory Management -> Allow negative Stocks in Interim Storage Types'. There, execute point 'Control of System Messages in Warehouse Management' and enter message type 'E' for message number L9040.

• Multiple bins in one section in storage type with 'C' open storage strategy

Experts,
I am doing random storage replenishment process for a Low rack location. The replenishment gets triggered from high rack to low rack.
The low rack storage type is defined as next empty bin as putaway strategy and the storage type contains multiple bins in each section.
There is process change and I want to place multiple SUs in one bin , I want to use the putaway strategy as 'C' open storage
and mixed storage allowed with SUT check and SU management active . It is working fine as expected in terms of triggering replenishment
and storing multiple SUs in 1 bin.My concern is that as a rule open storage should contain only one storage bin for section. But in my design , each section contains
multiple storage bins. Does is really hurt in any form? What are consequences? Please suggest.

Hello,
You are right. Normally it does not hurt, but what you are doing with the new process change contradicts your original design. Can you explain why you had storage sections in the area in the original design? Did you segregate SKU's by product families/fast movers etc....and now you dont have that requirement anymore or your SKU management has changed?

• Fixed bins to be defined in a storage type

I have multiple materials in a storage type in which some of the bins need to be assigned as fixed bins and some of them not. Is this possible ? I have a requirement to use the fixed bins to be replenished from High rack.If this is not possible then I need to create so many sections to make sure each material need to be putaway in one assigned bin for that material.
Any ideas?

PutAway and Picking Strategies are determined at Storage Type level.
So you can only have one strategy per Storage Type : either FIXED BINS or another strategy.
One Storage type does not have to be BINs next to one another.....
In the same physical space you can have two storage types where some BINs are Fixed Bins in one Storage Type and some BINs are not fixed Bins in the other Storage Type....that is one possibility.
If that is not possible, then I would look at having a PutAway and Picking Strategies that are so restrictive for each material that they have to go to a specific BIN .
Those are only a few ideas, it really depends on what your constraints are, how many materials are concerned, etc....
And finally, there is the user-exit option.....

• SUT selection in TO from storage type to PSA

Hi All,
The business process is Kanban replenishment where the CCID is scanned for TR creation for demand. TR then automatically converting to TO (movement type- 350). In TO we are getting the storage Unit type selected. need to know the basis of storage unit type selection.
Further details of the movement as eg.
Movement is from storage Type 030 to PSA.
Storage Type 030 has Bulk as Put away strategy and FiFo as Removal Strategy.
It is SUT check active.
warehouse is HU and SU managed.
Two kinds of SUT is there in the storage type 030 - Box and Pallet (L).
Let me know the basis of SUT selection in above TO.
The issue is that different material selects different SUT and there is no consistency. I checked for GR date, Quants, and material master, Move, ment Type data.
Need help from all experts.
Thanks,
Shankar Kumar

Hi Shankar,
As per standard SAP flow,
Step 1 ) system picks the stock removal indicator from the WM1 view of material master
Step 2) Picks the storage type from the T334T table based on the removal indicator from step1
Step 3) Once the storage type selected it goes and check the available Quant in the storage type
Step 4) After selection of all the Quant it sorts the selected record based on the GR date
Step 5) Once the first quant selected it pass all the Quant information to internal table
Step 6) Checks the required quantity minus quantity of first quant selected if the balance is greater then zero process continue from step 2 till the time required quantity - allocated quantity =0
Now your query how system selects the Storage unit type, as you can see from above steps system selects the Quant and the quant is already having the Storage unit type assigned. in the below example i have four quant in the stock and my requirement is for 120 PC, you can see the Sequence in Transfer order system stamps the TO line item based on the Storage type search (003,002 in below case) and then based on ascending order of Goods receipt it selects the Quant from within the Storage unit
in the below example
Storage type search strategy (Entry into T334T)

• RE: Transferring stock from storage type A to storage type B

what movement can I used in WMS to move stock from storage type A to storage type B for replenishment?
Bye

Hi ..
I think for replenishments standard movement type is 319 .
You need to assign storage type with this movement type.
Run Lp22 or Lp24 to generate replenishment .
If its one time activity you can use LT10 with movement 999 to transfer from one storage type to another.
Hope it helps

• How to delete all HU in one storage type

Dear experts I did use the /SCWM/ISU for uploading of the stock but now I need to change something in the structure of the storage bins.
I cannot change anything, because the bins are having HU already. Could someone give me a tipp how I can delete all HUs from one specific storage type?
Thanks in advance
BR
Denis

Hi Denis,
If the HUs are empty then the above solutions as Pet and Ifran mentioned should work for you. Else, if you have stock in the HUs then you need to scrap the stock, you can do this using /n/scwm/adgi look up the HUs then scrap them. This will empty the bins.
Thanks,
Faical

• Reservation of stock at Storage Type level in Warehouse

Hi Gurus,
My client is currently using ORACLE ERP system and they are migrating to SAP.
In ORACLE there is a flexibility wherein reservation can be activated for warehouse stock.
However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
So, I would like to know whether there is a way to reserve the stocks at storage type level.
According to my analysis direct reservation is possible at plant and storage location level.
However I would like to know from you whether there is a direct way to reserve the stocks in storage type in warehouse or any in-direct way possible to reserve the storage type stock?
Thanks & Regards
Subhasis

However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
That's probably a bad move. A physical warehouse should be at least one storage location, and storage types should only be used for sub organization inside a warehouse.
For example if Storage types are used for High Rack, Bulk, etc (what they are supposed to be used for) there is no reason to reserve stock in a specfic storage type.
Storage type vs Storage location. A "type" shouldn't be used to separate different warehouses.
