WMS Interface EDI?

Hello All,
I have the following requirement, and I would like your help:
I need to connect a R/3 - WMS system with a R/3 system.
For this we will use a EDI software to share IDOCS(files) in a directory, both system will send and receive IDOCS.
The EDI software will take care of the distribution of this files.
My assumption is that I will need to create a Distribution Model in each of the systems and generate the transmition protocols in each of them pointing to the EDI system.
I'm I correct? Will this scenario work?
Thanks in advance,
PT

hi,
>>>>My assumption is that I will need to create a Distribution Model in each of the systems and generate the transmition protocols in each of them pointing to the EDI system.
yes if R3 systems are not connected you need to create distribution  model in both of them
btw
you know that there is no standard way for R3 to import idocs in file format right?

Michal

  • SAP WMS interface to external WMS

    Dear all
    Present Setup
We are running our independent WMS system, which is called as ASRS, using Oracle Database and with crane, and conveyor controllers, which are managed by VB Modules.
ASRS system is communicating with AS400 system and getting the Goods Receive and Goods Issue messages as a flat file and sending the acknowledgement messages thro FTP.
    Ok
Now the customer is planning to implement the SAP IM-WM module and wanted to interface with our WMS system.
Customer is planning to send Goods Receiving and Goods Issue Messages thro IDOC format and also expecting the confirm messages from ASRS in the IDOC format.(The Transfer orders and Confirmation of Transfer orders will be transferred  between SAP and ASRS system.)
    Some of the possible approaches
Interface EDI subsystem (Gentran or Mercator) on the SAP system and the use EDFACT or ANSI X12 format for the data transfer to our ASRS system.
In our ASRS system we have to develop modules to receive and send the EDIFACT or ANSI X12 format.
Another approach, to use SAP Business Connector which will convert the IDOC format to XML format .In our ASRS system we have develop modules for processing the XML messages.
Can any one suggest the Best solution for the above scenario?
If you need any further info please feel free to post your comments.

    Hello,
Did you able to crack this, if so... which method you adopted for integration between Automated warehouse (crane system) and SAP WM.
    Please suggest.

  • EDI interface estimates

I need to do a high level estimate of time needed for a XI resource to configure (mapping) the following 3 EDI interfaces:
    Outbound interface
EDI 404 - Bill of Lading
    EDI 820 - FreightPayments
    Inbound interface
    EDI 810 - Invoice
THIS ALL CONSIDERING STANDARD MESSAGES WITHOUT ENHANCEMENTS
I would like to have a high level estimate of how long it takes to configure them in XI (Mapping, partner definition, etc).
Could you please give me a ball park on how much time would be required for it?
    Thanks a lot
    Leonardo De Araujo

    Hi Leonardo,
    That depends upon individual....
Actually u can design any interface within hours if u r having the correct technical specification ....problem occurs when u gonna test ur scenarios....
A scenario will be treated as completed only u have got ur desired output.
So... if ur mapping is simple then i dont think it will take more than 1 hor to develop 1 interface.
Actually time required in compex mappings,if u need to write code for proxie....
    thats all i know...

  • SAP-3PL WMS integration

    Hi,
I am working on a 3PL  WMS interface with SAP IM.
Once goods are shipped from warehosue to customer, WMS system will send message to SAP and goods issue will be posted agaisnt SAP outbound delivery.
We plan to use standard IDOC type SHPMNT06 for this purpose to post goods issue.
    2 Queries regarding this.
    1) in SAP, we have custom movment type for goods issue. So what we need to do so that IDOC posts goods movement with Custom movement type instead of standard 601.
    2) In case, 3PL WMS reverses goods issue for delivery, what we need to do to replicate same in  SAP( i.e. how to run VL09 in SAP)?
Can we use same IDOC type and use reversal movment type ?
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
It is possible to trigger the custom movement type in place of 601. Did you already mapped your customer movement type to PGI? If yes, please create a variant using program RV56ABST. Choose 'Carry out goods issue posting during save' in the tab 'Post goods issue for deliveries of shipment'.
Theoretically there is another way to do it using SHPMNT06, which i have not tried yet. In E1EDL18 segment you have to choose qualifier PIC and another E1EDL18 segment with qualifier PGI (within segment E1EDL20). Also please choose qualifier QUA in segment E1EDL19 (withing segment E1EDL24). I tired it at delivery level using DELVRY07 and it worked. Try it with inbound function module IDOC_INPUT_SHPMNT.
    All the best!

  • Mapping for the interfaces

    Hi all !
I am new to interfaces and as a functional cosultant I have to do couple of functional specs for the interfaces and also the mapping ...what should be my approach
1, let's say I have to do the mappin for the Lcokbox interface( EDI 823) .....what should I have to exactly do in here?
    2. another example would be I need to grab required data from a third party tool into the credit master data on the cutomer ... how can I do this ...
Please some one explain me in detail the above two cases , so I can get a clear understanding and start from there.....
hoping couple of answers....thanks a lot in advance for anykind of help

    Hello
In simple words, an interface is a 3rd party software. SAP and this software exchange data in 2 way channel. In layman's words, we need a program which can download data and process and record in SAP.
Also, we need a program to send data to the external interface.
First draw the process flow / how and what data is involved. Make a visio diagram.
Let the technical guys have a look at it and decide on what business partners like XI need to be used.
Let them decide on the channels by which data can flow.
Now look at the available data in the 3rd party, study their fields and check relevance in SAP. The out come of this excercise is mapping data for smooth flow and compatability.
Now let the ABAPers sit and prepare download / upload program and and link both the systems.
The data is in the form of files, which are either manually uploaded or triggered by scheduled jobs. The interface program should facilitate both features.

  • EDI Sales order creation in CRM

    Hello CRM Experts,
I'm an EDI/SAP professional new to CRM.  My team has been asked to interface EDI POs to CRM sales orders using CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE, with little information on how to map it.  So, my questions are:
Is it even possible to use ORDERS05 to create sales orders in CRM?
Can anyone tell me which CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE IDoc segments/fields need to be populated to create a sales order?
Any information provided would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance,

  • WMS capabilities, invalid SRS

    Hi,
the WMS capabilities of the Oracle Mapviewer (version: Oracle Application Server MapViewer 10.1.2 Developer's Kit) use an SDO value for the SRS (Spatial Reference System) of the LAYERs.
This is not correct according to the OGC WMS 1.1 spec, only EPSG or AUTO SRS's can be used.
How can this be changed so that Mapviewer outputs EPSG codes? Thanks in advance.
    <Layer queryable="1">
    <Name>WEGVAKKEN</Name>
    <Title>WEGVAKKEN</Title>
    <SRS>SDO:0</SRS>
    <LatLonBoundingBox minx="-180.0" miny="-90.0" maxx="180.0" maxy="90.0"/>
    <BoundingBox SRS="SDO:0" minx="-2000.0" miny="300000.0" maxx="300000.0" maxy="650000.0" resx="5.0E-4" resy="5.0E-4"/>
    </Layer>

    MapViewer 10.1.2's WMS interface supports a very few EPSG srids (e.g. 4326) which map onto a SDO srid (e.g. 4326 <--> 8307).
For others it simply reports the SDO srid so that Spatial clients can still use it.
With the database release 10gR2 likely having EPSG coordinate system support a subsequent version of MapViewer will have full EPSG support too. Assuming the database is 10gR2 or later.
For other versions there will be a mechanism for a user defined mapping which users are responsible for.
If you're not the person from NL who we've already communicated with on this send me email.

  • Script to fetch in a folder and call FM EDI_DATA_INCOMMING

    Hi All,
I am trying a inbound file to idoc scenario to post an idoc. The idoc files are presently placed in a folder in application server.
When the script is run the idoc file should get picked from the folder in Application server and pass it to the FM EDI_DATA_INCOMMING. I am using the below script.

    This gives error .
Can you plz let me know if the script is correct and why I get the error . I have specified all parameters in the script.

  • PO attachment error - Read error during PC upload

    Hi Gurus,
I am getting the error when I am trying to attach any file in ME22N, by clicking the services for object button, create attachment, and select the attachment.
The error message is "Read error during PC upload" and "The attachemnt has not been created".
The system is upgraded to ECC 6 last year and have not tried this function before.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
They are not using any interfaces (EDI), no idocs. They are using either fax or email and post modes only.
After saving the PO, we can able to attach the documents by clicking the services for object button in ME22N. But I am not able to attach the document to PO.
    Thanks for your response.

  • Missing messages in JMS sender adapter

    Hello All,
We are in the testing phase of one of the our implementation porject, In which we have used JMS to IDOC scenario  for WMS interfaces.
But unfortunately we are not receiving all the messages in SAP PI from JMS queue.
We have checked with JMS provider and maxximum JMS queue message limit is 100000. and there is no other system is trying to access the same queue.
also there is no message overwritting issue from JMS side. Please check the below screenshot for the channel configuration.

    Hi Anant,
are you on AEX or Dual Stack? We are experiencing some similar problem at the moment with errors like this show up in the default trace
    com.sap.sql.exception.OpenSQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException
    [NON_TRANSIENT, INTEGRITY_CONSTRAINT_VIOLATION]
If that's the case in your environment, there's a note for that http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1983366
We discovered that the problem occurs especially in high load situations.

  • B2B Addon - BPM Scenario Question

We have SAP  PO 7.4 single stack working on B2B Scenarios. We will be using AS2 Adapter to send and receive ANSI X12 messages like POs inbound, Order acks Outbound, PO changes inbound etc. We installed B2B Add on ESR Content and has some sample scenarios in  B2B Mapping Kit.
Scenario 1: When order received from Customer (850)  we need to send Functional Acks ( Both Positive and Negative ) based on the status of success / failure of IDOC Posting. How do we achive this scenario without BPM. What is SAP recommended solution ( RDS approach) for this scenario considering its ANSI X12 850 to IDOC Orders scenario. I'm thinking of using exit in IDOC Posting fucntional module to trigger Proxy to PI which wil lbe sent to Customer after Mapping.
Along with Funtional ack ECC should send ORDRSP IDOC to PI to ANSI X12 855 as well.
Scenario 2: in another scenario, If send Order 850 to Vendor wil lthey typically send 855 as a response ? Since Its Orders IDOC outbound, how to make this as synchronous to receive 855 and update ECC with ORDRSP IDOC  without BPM?
I would like to develope these scenarios avoiding BPM if possible. Since we are not implementing RDS solution,  we will be developing mapping inhouse. what is the SAP standard recommended approach if you used RDS ?
    Thank you

    Hello,
If I am not wrong you are talking about below scenarios
These scenarios need not wait for each other( independent of each other)
In case of outbound EDI interfaces, EDI 997 (if partner is capable of sending one) will be helpful in updating the status of the Outbound IDoc.
In Inbound EDI scenarios, 997 is generated at adapter level as s0on as message reaches PI successfully, 997 is sent back to partners if requested.
To understand more on acknowledgements please have a look at below blog
Functional Acknowledgement (Inbound and Outbound FA 997)- for Beginners
(P.S.-  ACK 855 is an interface on its own (needs mapping from EDI to SAP (Idoc, rfc, file..))

  • Inbound deliveries with STO

    Hi,
I am currently designing an interface with an external WMS and I am thinking to use inbound deliveries but it seems inbound deliveries with stock transport order have important restrictions :
    1. inbound deliveries are created with the quantity from the STO and not from the outbound delivery => risk on stock in transit
    2. The batch numbers are not copied from the outbound delivery to the inbound delivery (it is done in GR with MIGO if you post from outbound delivery)
    3. I haven't (yet) found a way to create automatically an inbound delivery when you post the goods issue from the outbound delivery. (it seems SAP is providing special development for that ?)
Does anyone experienced the use of inbound deliveries with STO and what are your recommendation?
    Thanks a lot,
    JP

    Hi,
We want to create inbound delivery in order to interface with an external WMS (Warehouse Management). We are not using standard SAP "decentralized WMS" interface.
By using inbound deliveries for the interface, we can initiate the GR in SAP and then wait for confirmation from WMS. The WMS can then confirm different quantities if some discrepancies are identified during unloading.
Also, creating inbound deliveries allow planning for receiving (i.e yard management).
=> We do not want to post the GR first in SAP and then send it to the WMS as they can find some differences during unloading
=> We do not want warehouse operators to work in SAP
=> We need a document in the WMS which will trigger task creation for GR for warehouse operators.
=> We want to use same solution for GR for external purchase orders and STO. So if we use inbound deliveries for PO, we want to use it for STO.
Does anyone has experienced to create inbound delivery for STO from outbound delivery with Idoc (i.e ASN with DESADV) or specific development ?
    Thanks for your help,
    JP
