Won't sort in alphabetic order. Listed by type.

The music on my iPod and iPhone does not go in order. They are in alphabetic order in mp3 formate then start over at A again for the AAC types. Is there a setting I clicked in iTunes that I don't know about? I have all my "singles" organized by genre. I created genres like "single pop" and "single rock" so that I could reduce the amount of albums in the real genes that have albums. So in the "single pop" genre list my older imported MP3's start at a and go to Z then the newer purchaced AAC's start at A and go to Z.

Try setting them order by track in iTunes, and then re-sycning the Touch.
That' usually does it for me.
ALSO, make sure that shuffle is OFF.
Hit the album once while it's playing to get the scrubber on the screen.
To the left and right are two icons - one for shuffle, and one for repeat.
If they're white, they're off.
If they're blue, they're active and likely contributing to this issue...

  • Parameters to be sorted in alphabetical order

    Hi,
    Can you please let me know whether the parameters values are by default sorted in alphabetical order...refering to discoverer viewer/plus...
    Thanks in advance
    Sri

    If you are referring to the item classes (list of values), they would be sorted in alphabetical order. The parameter values wud appear in the same order in which the lovs appear in admin.
    If you want to customize the sorting (reorder), you can do so using alternate sort tab in edit item class.
    you can refer to the admin users guide.

  • When using Remote 2.0 on iPad, songs won't appear in alphabetical order

    Anybody else getting this? Since upgrading to Remote 2.0 when clicking on the Songs tab I will get Artists in alphabetical order with their songs listed underneath. This is different than the Artists tab which just lists Artists alphabetically without their songs listed. I get this behavior on my iPhone 3G also. I can't get the Songs tab to just list Songs alphabetically. On my iPodtouch I have Remote 1.0 and it lists songs alphabetically like always.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Sorting in alphabetical order

    How can I sort paragraphs alphabetically in Pages 09?

    Inside the WordService 2.7 download folder is a file called ReadMe.rtf double click it and it should open in Text Edit and says:
    "Installation:
    +Copy WordService into the directory "Services" (located in the Library folder of your home directory), then log out and log in again. If there's no such folder, just create one using the Finder."+
    In the side bar on the lefthand side of every open Finder window should be a little house icon probably with your name next to it. This is your computer account.
    Click on it and find the folder labeled Library which should contain another folder called Services. If you don't have a Services folder create one:
    +Menu > New Folder > click on it and name it "Services"+
    Drag WordService.service from your downloaded WordService folder into the above folder. +Do not+ drag the whole folder in.
    Now you will find the contained services under every application (including Finder) menu (eg the Pages menu) in a submenu called Services. There are many services in the menu. The specific services you want are +Format > Sort Lines Ascending/Descending.+

  • Sort Items Alphabetically in List Control

    Hi,
      I have a code snippet as in the following: (input is a dynamically generated array based on users selection)
      //Create a new List element
                          list1 = new List();
                          var sort:Sort = new Sort();
                          sort.fields = [new SortField(null,true)];
                          input.sort = sort;  # 1168: Illegal assignment to function sort.
                          input.refresh();
                          list1.dataProvider = input;
                          list1.setStyle("color","blue");
                          list1.setStyle("borderStyle","none");
                          list1.labelField = "name";
                          list1.allowMultipleSelection = false;
                          list1.doubleClickEnabled = true;
                          list1.addEventListener("change",updateNameSelected2); //Add Event Listener on single Click
                          list1.addEventListener("doubleClick",appointmentList2); //Add Event Listener on DoubleClick
      I don't think this seems to be legal, because I keep getting the error #1168 at the line where I marked input.sort= sort;
      I have a question here, when the list in Flex is generated, does it always show according to how the xml output is printed out, or does it generate the results printing alphabetically by default? If the former, why would I get the #1168 error, and how could I fix it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alice

    That's the expected behavior of the SortField, I don't think that
    using mix content you could accomplish what you want, remember the
    sorting order symbols, numbers, uppercase, lowercase.
    Sincerely,
    Michael

  • Chinese artists won't go in alphabetical order for itunes 10.4

    Works on windows xp but not windows 7 both using 10.4

    Yes, but if you order (say by name, or by least recently played) the "Autofill From" source list and turn off "Choose items randomly" then sequential play will be in the order of the source list.
    (This works on my first gen Shuffle.)

  • Find row in Dataview using ID but Name sorted in alphabetical order

    Hi,
    I have a dataview with 2 columns, ID and Name, where it is sorted by"Name".
    I want to find a row using the ID, namely curID. But the following doesn't seem to work, as I believe my dataview was sorted using the Name column. How can I sort the dataview with "Name", but be still be able to "Find" using its ID?
    dv.Sort = "ID ASC"
    rowIndex = dv.Find(curID)
    Please advice. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Use a plain old for loop then. You could define your own method:
    private static DataRowView FindRow(DataView dv, int id)
    foreach (DataRowView rowView in dv)
    if (Convert.ToInt32(rowView["ID"]) == id)
    return rowView;
    return null;
    And call it like this:
    DataRowView dataRowView = FindRow(dv, curID);
    if(dataRowView != null)
    //found...

    I have a large number of saved passwords that i would like to sort into alphabetical order. At the moment, for example, at the top of the list are yourhealthportal.com.au b2c.csair.com and singpet.com.
    n the Bookmarks menu it is possible to drag and drop items to a different position in the list. Can something like this be done with passwords?

    Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
    From the notes for the release:
    iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that use CMAK to configure split tunneling on VPN clients, traffic to specified devices can be routed via their own default gateway.
    If the manually added route entries all have default metric and interface, clients will select one by the default routing rule, can’t select one of them according to clients’ own conditions. So, I am afraid that CMAK can’t implement the function which you need.
    A blog described about How to configure split tunneling on VPN clients using CMAK, for your reference:

  • Sort my bookmarks in drop down lists in alphabetical order not just in Library Views

    When I click on Bookmarks then select a folder to view its contents, I want to see those contents in alphabetical order By Name, not in the hpahazard order in which they were added. I know I can View them in the Library List in alphabetical order or change that to something else. But I want tp make the drop down list and the folder contents to be in alphabetical order all the time.

    The Views menu in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) is for viewing the bookmarks in a different sorting order (hence the name Views) and doesn't sort bookmarks permanently.<br />
    Clicking the column header does the same sorting for viewing purposes only.<br />
    If you want to sort bookmarks then you need to right-click a folder and use "Sort By Name" to sort that folder.

    I can not get my itunes to sort my library in alphabetical order by artist??  Nor can I get the listing to be numbered...ie...1...2...3...4...5 etc.....Can anyone help??  It used to be able to alphabetize my list correctly before I downloaded the 11.0.1 or 11.0.5 version of itunes?????

    How are you viewing your library? In Song view or Album View?
    If in Album view pull down View > Show View Options and select Sort by: Artist, then: (whichever choice you want here).
    If in Song view I like to see the album artwork so pull down View > Show View Options and select "show album artwork" and close the small window. Then click on the column that contains the artwork and sort it by Artist.

  • Ical reminders list won't sort on iphone

    ICal Reminders won't sort on the actual device it was intended for - the Iphone
    I just talked to Apple Express service over this problem.  I went to the trouble of transferring my to-do list onto icloud Reminders - where each item asked for a priority ranking and where you are then given options for how to sort  all the Reminders you entered - so that it can actually be useable as any Calendar/time management system would be.   I chose "by priority" of course, but you can also choose alphabetically, etc.  It must be said, at least to Apple, apparently, that the point of doing all this is so that the Reminders are available on your actual device - my iphone.  The Reminders all synced immediately to the Iphone.  However, the Reminders list is an unsorted jumble on my iphone.  Even when I tap out a Reminder on my iphone itself and choose a priority, the item remains at the bottom of the list as the last thing I typed in.  Apple Express Support "explains" that the priority ranking and the sorting choices are "not supported" on the device you want to use them on - the iphone.   They offered me "an article" that explains this in detail.   In other words, engaging with the Reminder function and choosing priorities and choosing sort orders is all just a cruel joke wasting your time.  I would have been better off just printing off my Reminders list on paper and circling the high priority items in red ink.  Oh - but you can't print it out either.
    Unbelieveable.  Apple's ICal Reminder function actually and actively leads you to engage with completing details and choices that don't even function, or in other words - aren't "supported" on the Apple device they are stated to be designed for.  Is there a device on which this function is actually supported?  "Not at this time"
    The only way to have your to-do list sorted on the iphone is to assign a calendar date for each one of them and then they only appear on that specific date.  You would not be able to view your whole list in anything other than the order you happened to enter the items.  No calendar/time management system I know of makes you put a date on every item in a  task list - some tasks have a due date, but most don't.  And every calendar/time management system allows you to sort your list, or view your list in a sorted order.   And print it out also.
    Apple advertises this Icloud Ical/Reminders system as a time managment tool and fails to tell us that vital functions don't even work on your iphone.

    Hello Christiansted,
    Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
    In addition to shuffle, you probably have repeat enabled. When you tap the screen or cover art while playing a song, the scrubber bar has the Shuffle button at the right end and the Repeat button at the left end.
    If the circular arrows are blue, it will repeat the album or playlist.
    If the circular arrows have a small number 1 on them, it will only repeat one song
    If they are white, Repeat is off.
    The User's Guide explains this on page 63:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
    Hope that helps,
    Charles H.
