Word document, developer and developer server
I must develop a form that can handle word document, it must read/write/update a DOCUMENT that must be stored in database for example in a BLOB field.
Can someone tell me how i can do it?

Hi All,
I have a Macbook Pro, 5,5. It's a few years old and was running slow. My son backed up my Microsoft Office documents and my photos onto a thumb drive and ran 'wiped my computer clean'...using a disc that came with my computer. (I am NOT computer savy at all).
I was able to reinstall the Mac OS X install DVD that came with my Mac, but IPHOTO, ILIFE did not reinstall. I transferred the word documents successfully, and my photos transferred to an icon on a 'library' on the desktop, but I can't use. How do i get IPHOTO back?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thank you so much for responding. I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key. In addition, it was running much slower. Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect. This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key. Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?

Last night I downloaded the latest Word update. Today the first Word document crashed and I lost 45 minutes of work in spite of having saved the document numerous times. Why is Word crashing the day after a safety update? I have Office 2008 for Mac
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
/private/var/run/StartupItems
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/LaunchDaemons
Open Console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & next startup for clues. -
Unable to generate a Word document (RH9 and Office 2010)
Hello Everybody,
we have an issue with Robohelp 9 (patched to newest version). We are trying to generate a Word document (doc, docx) in the section of "Printed Documentation". If we click on the printed documentation on the left side (in the menübar), 2 popup windows flashing to the screen with the following complete message: "False Parameter". I can click on "OK" if i do it, both windows will close and the General Printed Document Page is loading.
The Problem is that all dropdown fields are blank and we cant chose .doc or .docx. I reinstalled both Programms (TCS and Office) it doesnt help me.

Greetings Andreas BThis all points to some sort of installation issue. I notice from the screen you posted that a lot of the fields are completely blank. They shouldn't be. They should have default values. Check that you are installing following Peter's advice at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/installing/installing.htm.

According to your description, I have tested in my environment and I have the same behavior.
Only if you type the wrong name in the first time, then you click the phone book to search the right name and save, it will stuck. It means if you do other operation(e.g. type the wrong name then click “resolve” button, then search in the phone book) and
repeat the operation above, it won’t stuck.

White balance selections, Quick Develop and Develop...let's talk
One thing that isn't well-known is that the adjustments in Quick Develop and the adjustments in Develop are *fundamentally different* from each other.
Develop is basically designed to provide *absolute* adjustments to RAW images. It can be used for JPEGs too, but in that case, the white balance setting is not absolute as it's already been corrected in-camera. So the WB settings are meaningless since you don't know where to begin and the temperatures are removed for the same reason. You just start where you are and get warmer or cooler.
Quick Develop is designed to provide *relative* adjustments to all images. What this means is, if you have many images selected and hit the right exposure arrow ">" you'll increase the effective exposure of all of those images from wherever they are now to that plus 1/3 stop. If you hit the ">>" you'll get 1 stop increments.
Since QD is always making *relative* adjustments, it may be reasonable to assume that you have a known, corrected starting point from which to make relative adjustments. That may be why the daylight and other options are available in QD. I personally think this is a bad assumption as you don't know what corrections have been applied in-camera. Thus, I think those options shouldn't appear in QD just like they don't in Develop.
Comments?The relative vs. absolute of the QD vs. Dev modules is something I'm not familiar with LR enough to dispute. However isn't the point of LR's non-destructive nature, that all actions on an image are relative to the initial baseline, whether it is a RAW or JPG (or Other).
Granted applying a preset WB set of values against a JPG does not make a lot of sense in the development of a repeatable workflow, but if a set of WB values improves a JPG image, who cares. Its all non-destructive and I can reset at any time.
I tend to not like operating in applications that are too stringent in keeping me walled into the "right" way of doing things. Particularly based on the super intelligent decision of the software developer because they know how it is supposed to work. (I have license to berate this group because it is my vocation) Changing the user interface from one module to another (if they both do the same thing) or from one file type to another is not a good thing. Consistency is paramount to user freindliness. If indeed the QD and the Dev modules work differently then it is expected that the controls be labeled differently to express this difference. If a selection is detrimental to the image or will cause application issues it is better to leave the selection visible (for consistency) and disable it (gray out) to keep it from being selected.
The abreviation of White Balance: to WB: in the application is also bad form. It is jargony and does not assist new users to understanding. Screen real estate is scarce and I understand the inclination to do this, but there is a cost.

Word document templates and Protection
We have implemented a Portal Solution for Sales Representatives, we allow them to create word documents by using a template, Once the template is filled by the data in the application we call the Execute Macro Method so that the Macro used to protect the word document is executed in word. This works perfectly in the SAPGUI, The document is protected after population of the variables
However, we have an issue in the portal, once the word document is loaded, the variables are filled with the data, the macro to protect the word document is not called .we understand that this call must be written, we would like some assistance with how to call the word macro when using the portal.
The underlying application is CRM.

I don't think that it's possible to get this functionality in the Portal. Has your company licensed the Adobe Document Service (ADS)? I think that would be a solution for your problem. I know a company where they use the ADS in combination with the PC-UI.

Word documents (New and Existing) paper area does not work correctly
Hello all. I have a rather hard to explain situation with one of our workstations. It is an HP 8760w and it has had Office 2010 installed on it for quite some time. Currently, when opening a new document or any existing document, the program will look normal
but will not show a cursor on the page. Scrolling wll result in the page looking obscure as if a graphics inside the document stops working. Scrolling will cause lines of text to melt into each other and will duplicate lines of text. The ribbon functions fine
and hitting File brings up the entire menu like it should. Switching back to the document will show what was over that section in the file menu. How do I fix this? Installing and uninstalling office did not work along with changing the Normal.dot and deleting
the Data registry file.

This sounds more like a Graphic Driver or Graphics Card problem. You might try switching out the Graphic Card if that is possible on the system.
Another outside possibility might be a corrupt user profile, so you could create a different profile on the machine and try it. However, my guess would be the Graphics Card is failing.
Are you also certain there are no other Office add-ins loaded that might be causing this. Start Word in Safe Mode and see if this clears the problem. If it does, then systematically disable add-ins one at a time until the culprit is found.

Office Web App Server 2013: cannot edit word document with own WOPI Server

I tried to build our own WOPI Server to connect to Office Web App Server 2013 SP1. Viewing documents
in IE was possible quite easy to achieve. Now it comes to editing.
When I try to edit a document, I got a german message “Sie verfügen leider nicht über die Berechtigung zum Bearbeiten dieses Dokuments“.
This means something like „Sorry, you do not have any permission to modify this document”.
I enabled editing on the OWAS-Server while setup procedure
(Until now, I only have an InternalUrl but no ExternalUrl.)

Can't open Project Server 2013 word documents with office 2010 installed
hello forum members,
we having issues opening a word document in a Project Server 2013 . we have Office 2010 on our computers installed.
when I click on a document link, i get a message "The webpage cannot be displayed". the only way to open a document is to right click on link and select "Open".
Does Project Server 2013 require Office 2013 installed? If not, is there a way to open documents in Project Server 2013 without right clicking on links?

This is the know issue. I have experienced this issue with one of our client. The cause of issue as below -
Scenario
You have 2007 Microsoft Office installed on a computer.
On the same computer, you also have a Microsoft Office 2013 application installed, such as Microsoft Lync 2013 or Microsoft Word 2013.
SOLUTION
To work around this issue, remove the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support program component from the Office 2013
installation on the affected computer or computers. To do this, follow the “Install or remove individual Office program components” section of the following Microsoft Office website:

Help! I've deleted most text in a Word document accidentally and pressed save - thus losing most of the last week's work! Is there likely to be a temp file anywhere from yesterday so that I can retrieve it?
I don't know which Mac you have, but if you have an intel, update to 10.7 and you can use the function called Versions, which autmatically saves a version of your text, and you can revert to it when needed.

I have a question about privacy... Just recently I was typing in a word document. And then just this morning, when I was working in another word document, a window popped up. It said something about proofing tools and "help us improve," and
it contained a snippet of something I had been typing the other day. It said it was asking for permission to send this text to Microsoft and improve the tool, and that I could delete any part of text that I didn't want to be sent. I just clicked X and exited
. I'm worried, though. I have used Word for many years and I've never seen this before.
Is this something that is supposed to happen to everyone from time to time? Or was it a virus or fake message of some kind? Does this affect my privacy in any way? I'm just very surprised that it even contained something I had written a few days

My requirement is to edit the contents of the word document in the presentation server through report programming and save that document in the presentation server.
For eg if my word document contains many xml tags with spaces < EDI_DS40 >, i would like to remove the spaces and i want it to be lyk <EDI_DS40>.Then say if i wanted to make some modification (addition, deletion,replacing with some text) in the text in some nth line of the document how can dis be dione.
