  • Discoverer Viewer/Plus does not work with Custom EUL owned by APPS user

    I am facing a unique issue with one of my customers. They have a custom EUL named XX_EUL_US and this does not allow connecting through discoverer viewer or discoverer plus.
    I have worked with custom EULS before at other customers and this was never the case. I am being told that this issue is happening as the EUL owner is APPS instead of some other user. Is this the case? Can discoverer viewer not be used with EULs owned by apps user?
    Please not that the Default EUL in ICX profiles is set to this EUL and no other EUL profiles are set.
    Appreciate any thoughts on this.

    I am not sure what you mean when you say you have a "custom EUL named XX_EUL_US". The EUL table should be created in a schema named XX_EUL_US. This will then be the EUL owner. You will then need to connect to Discoverer Administrator as the EUL owner and grant privileges to Apps users and/or responsibilities.
    The user should then be able to connect to Discoverer Plus/View using their apps username, responsibility and password.
    To be able to connect directly from an apps menu you need to have the ICX parameters set correctly. The ICX: Discoverer Default End User Layer Schema Prefix should be set to XX_EUL (without the _US). The ICX: Discoverer End User Layer Language Override should be set to US or not set at all.

  • Can Actions Menu of Interactive Reports work with Custom Authentication?

    My testing is leading my to believe that Actions Menu do not work with Custom Authentication (but only work with APEX Authentication) in APEX 3.1.2? If that's true then is there a work around to this?
    Just to clarify, I've posted/asked this question twice before:
    1) Re: Actions Menu in Interactive Reports does not sort, filter, select cols etc
    2) Interactive Report actions don't work for users (i.e. for non-developers)
    But I've come to believe this is the main problem. I just don't know how to resolve/work around this?

    I haven't setup a sample because my custom authentication is using LDAP authentication. I'm not sure how I can replicate that on the samples server?
    I'm using LDAP authentication with a Page Sentry function. My further testing reveals that the Page Sentry function is setting the APEX variable user to NULL (ie blank) whenever there's any code in the Page Sentry function box. PL/SQL code as simple as
    BEGIN return TRUE; END;
    in the Page Sentry function box sets the "user" is set to <null>. When the Page sentry function box is left empty (no code specified) it sets the "user" properly after authentication against the specified LDAP directory.
    What all this has to do with Interactive Reports...
    It seems like when the user is NULL it messes-up Interactive Reports that are stored in the flows database. Although it shows the default report properly, but no runtime interactive actions (filtering, sorting, column break, etc.) work.
    Can someone please correct or confirm this?

    Forgot to add that it would be an adjustment layer with some kind of mask on it already. The mask is uncentered when copy and pasted which throws it off.
    I guess the same question would go towards doing the same for an object. How to copy and paste it over to a new doc, keeping its position within the document? is this possible?

  • Working with placeholders and templates in 10gR4

    I am new to 10gR4 features. Can someone help me in working with placeholders and templates in 10gR4. Is there a document available on that?
    This is what is did. I created a primary page which contains a contribution region for list of articles(dynamic list fragment). Next, I created a secondary page (hcsp file) which is designed to create/update new artcicles. I also added a placeholder before the contribution region for this article by name ArticleDetail.
    I was able to add new articles and work with them as usual like in 10gR3.
    But when I tried to access the contents of a particular article using wcm_place_holder service I am not able to see any contents.

    where the TESTCONTENTFILE is the content id of the article data file and ArticleDetail is the name of the placeholder placed above article contribution region.
    I tried changing the value of templateDocName to content id of the article (TESTCONTENTFILE) and also tried the content id of eondary page file for article, but the same result. I am not able to see anything on the screen.
    Also tried the same with above values with placeholderDefinitionDocName instead of templateDocName parameter but no good.
    Anything wrong I am doing here?

    I tried something different and I am getting the response but the content is not html.
    This is what I tried

    and I got the response which is xml data. I think it is the contributed data file for TESTARTICLE.
    What we are looking for is the html text for presenting the article directly on external sites. The documentation for WCM_PLACEHOLDER says that it should get html directly. I am not able to get it.

    What version of Elements will work with Canon Print Studio Pro?

    I tried this step but it did not work. I have a Mac YosemiteOS 10.10.1. I copied to plug in files from Canon Print Studio Pro. Open canon utilities, open print studio pro, open CS4 folder and copied files CNPSPP101.plugin and CNPSPP102.plugin (not there is also a folder called CS5 but it has the fame plugin files)
    I copy these files and then go to Photoshop Elements 13 and paste these files in Support File folder in Plug - ins and also did in folder Optional Plug-ins.
    I then open Photoshop Elements 13 and hit Automation tools but Canon Pro Studio option is not there.
    Can you provide more details on where I might be going wrong.
    I put in a trial version of Elements 12 and have no problem. I just can't find where to purchase Elements 12 so I do not lose it in 30 days. Know where I can  purchase?

  • PO PDF errors when using custom RTF Template, but works with custom xsl

    Hi,
    I have done following set up steps for PO PDF
    Setup / Organizations / Purchasing Options / Control TAB / set 'PO Output Format' = 'PDF'
    setup / purchasing / document types / select "Standard Purchase Order" / Set the Document Type Layout to your new template.
    But with the RTF template the PO Output for communication completes with error. However when I use custom XSL-FO style sheet, it works.
    Can anyone help me how I can make my RTF work? When click on the preview of the template, it shows the PDF output though. Am I missing any other set up steps? Your help is greatly appreciated.

    I think the only way to have control over the html output is to enclose the tags or any information within a borderless table and align the text and table as necessary...

  • Problems with Quote Printing template

    Hi,
    I have been trying to assign a custom PDF template to the Print Quote functionality within sales. However, when I try to create a template using Code: ASOPRINT, Application: Order capture, and Data Definition: Quote Printing I get the following message:
    "You entered a duplicate template entry. Please change the Name, Code and/or Application and reapply."
    I therefore tried to remove the original seeded xsl template by entering an 'end date' of yesterday, however this message still appeared but now no template is assigned to the print quote function within HTML quoting. Is there a way to get this back again or preferably add a new one - It appears the system is still recognising the ASOPRINT code from the seeded template despite its removal.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    I could create another template to solve my problem. But according to the XMLP documentation, I studied that both the application code of Data definition and template should match. In my case my data definition and template has the same code ASOPRT. And I created another template with the code ASOPRINT. Both my templates work. Now, I am kind of confused. Can anyone help me in undersatnding this.

  • Problem with custom print dialog in Illustrator cs3 on OS X

    Hello Illustrator Support Forum,
    I am an IT systems administrator and I have a user that has a problem when printing from Illustrator to our Ricoh photocopier.  The problem is that Illustrator uses its own custom print dialog and not the default mac os x system one.  This prevents the print job from going through because it does not send the required user code along with the print job.
    A work around we found was to print to Adobe Distiller creating a pdf then printing from there but this definately not ideal.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Larry,
    Thanks for the tip.  This makes it a bit easier of a work-around but its still not a fix for the initial problem of printing directly through Illustrator.

  • Search Results Clear On Refinement with custom Display Template

    I am working with a custom search display template. I did minor presentation changes in the template. I am showing a checkbox against each search item and there is some logic behind it.
    For this I am using Item_Default Template.

    With this is in place, on page load it shows initial results just fine and my checkbox logic also works fine.
    However, whenever user hits a refinement value the results clear out and no longer display. I know the results are there because when I do reload of the page refined results appears but again when you click on refinement value results disappear.
    With some digging on the forums I found that use "AddPostRenderCallback(ctx,function(){" instead of "ctx.OnPostRender.push", I tried this as well but it didn't help.
    Whenever I remove "ctx.OnPostRender.push(function(){" code from my template, refinement panel starts working properly again. So there has to be something related to this "ctx.OnPostRender.push". I cant just
    remove it because I have to write my JS logic as well for that this function is must.
    Please give me some pointers.

  • HP Director won't work with Wireless Print Server

    I have an HP 5500 Office Jet all in one.  It comes with bundled software called HP Director that enables scanning, printing, and faxing.  The software worked fine while I had the printer connected to my pc with a USB cable.
    To give myself flexibility I installed a WPSM54G Linksys Wireless G Printserver.  There is no direct connection between my printer and pc anymore.
    Printing still works fine.  This is being handled by the Linksys software.
    The HP Director no longer can find the printer.  When I try to scan (for example) using HP Director, I get a message that "an error occurred communicating with the printing device...".  It presumably is looking for a direct USB connection, and not finding one.
    I can't find a fix on the HP site, but I imagine there must be one.  Wireless print servers have been around for quite a while.  Is there a download that will solve this problem?

    I can't be of much help with the printer but I just checked my "Pages" and my version number is 4.0.2. I'm using iWork 09. Perhaps you need to update? I just checked the "Snow Leopard Compatible" site and found "Apple Pages 4.0.2" is compatible. It didn't mention 1.0.2. I'm so sorry. That's pretty rough when it's how you make your living.
    As for the printer, I have an HP Photosmart C4580 which wouldn't print. I finally just deleted all the printers on my MacBook and used my Snow Leopard install disk and selected the "Optional Install" which allowed me to just reinstall the printers. My HP is now working fine. I do feel like this is just a work-around until HP gets things sorted out. I say that because even though my HP now works, the only place it shows up is in my users folder. It's not in my Applications folder, but as long as it works for now, I don't care.
