WorkCentre 6027 blank display

I am trying to install a Xerox WorkCentre 6027.  I have connected it to a PC by USB and supplied it with power as per the installation guide. When I power the printer on, there is eventually a single beep, but nothing is displayed on the control panel.  The home button is lit, and the status lights appear to light correctly, but none of the buttons do anything.  I'm trying to follow the installation guide which says that at this point I should "follow onscreen instructions" but there's nothing displayed. After installing the drivers on the PC, I can successfully print, but without the display or control panel I obviously can't configure the printer further. Applying the firmware update didn't change anything either.

If this is a new machine I would return it for replacement. Sounds like a defective product. The screen should display something long before anything PC side is done. Try holding the power saver button for five seconds and then pressing and releasing the pause button to reset the display. If you have a maintenance agreement with Xerox have a tech come on site. If no contract and older out of warranty device, call Xerox anyway, there were some products that had a bad run of displays, I don't know the specifics and models, but it can't hurt to try.

The battery was fully charged when I turned the phone off.  I've tried removing the battery and putting it back in.  I've also tried the reset by holding the green call button and 3*.  Nothing has worked.

Blank display, connected to tv via hdmi and to monitor via vga still blank. Tried with single ram in both slots alternatively still blank. Reconnected hdd still the same. Consulted with a technician, who tells that it is possibly a IC got corrupted (maybe of the vga or graphic). Is it repairable without replacing motherboard. If so then, where do I find the IC. What is the IC model number and what else do I need to do?

  • Tx2z wont' boot up, blank display and flashing keys

My laptop had various BSOD's which were recently resolved but now I am getting a blank display when I try to boot up my laptop. I can hear the fan noise and all the lights are working properly. However, The caps lock and num lock keys blink 3 times in a sequence. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?

    Hi @GC66 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-3210us Notebook and issues with startup issues. Here is a document on computer won't start. It gives you a step by step to follow.
I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults if you can get into the BIOS. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which should resolve  a startup issue.
Here is a link that shows you how to do a hardware test. I would run this if you do get the Notebook started.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Blank display after sleep. Please help

My MBP wakes itself every day at 6:00. For the past few days, when I've gotten to it around 6:30, the display has just been...blank. The keyboard illuminates and my cursor shows up, but the login window is nowhere to be seen. I've waited for it, and end up having to hold down the power button and start her up again, something I was used to with windows. Is anybody else having this problem? It has also occured any time after it's slept for a while. Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Hello,
It seems that a lot of people are experiencing this problem, judging by how many boards there are for it...
I too am having the same problem. My MBP is a few weeks old, and I've only started noticing this problem in the last week or two. Sometimes my MBP wakes up fine, sometimes it takes it a few minutes, and sometimes I'm forced to restart it by holding down the power button. It seems to be worse when I've had my computer in sleep mode for long periods of time.
I don't use any external monitors, and I don't keep USB devices or anything else connected to the computer when I close it. It makes no difference whether it's charging or not. I have a few 3rd-party apps installed, but the problem started before I installed any. I've tried closing all programs before putting my computer to sleep. I've stopping letting it sleep overnight (and instead shut it down). Nothing helps.
The problem occurred for me again just now, which is what prompted me to check the support boards. When I open my MBP after it's been is sleep mode, it makes the little disk drive startup noise, but the display remains black. Sometimes when I open my MBP, the keyboard will light up (sometimes only for a second, and other times for longer). Just now, when I held down the escape key, it made that little "pinging" noise over and over again while I held it down (in the Sounds menu under System Preferences, they call it "Funk"). And what I thought was the most interesting was that when I pressed play on my Apple Remote it started playing the first song in my iTunes library. All the controls on the Apple Remote worked fine - I could play and pause the song, skip to a different song, adjust the volume, etc. Yet the screen remained black. Pushing keys and using the trackpad did nothing. I tried closing the computer again and this time the light remained on (instead of flashing like it does when it's in sleep mode). But when I opened it back up, the screen still stayed black. So obviously, the computer was running fine, it was simply a problem with the display.
Does the Apple Remote work for anyone else when they're experiencing this problem?
This problem is really starting to get on my nerves! Hopefully Apple will do something about it soon!

I noticed that the screen saver never comes on, regardless of the time settings, etc.  It's as if the PC thinks it is constantly busy with something.
    Thanks,
Well, that's the "answer".  If you are not even getting the screen saver to come on, then there's no way the power-save mode (i.e. putting the monitor to sleep, so that its power LED changes color and the screen goes dark) will EVER kick in!  The second stage (i.e. power-save mode after some specified period of time of system inactivity) is dependent on the first stage first, where the screen saver kicks in after some specified period of system inactivity.  It's only when the period of system inactivity exceeds the screensaver time limit and now reaches the power-save time limit that the monitor will be put to sleep.
So... something is running in your system which is convincing Windows that it is "active".  Normally this would require human interface activities, like mouse or keyboard, but it sounds like in your system some task is running in the background which is "keeping the system active", as if you yourself were touching the mouse or keyboard.
I'd investigate using Task Manager, to see what's running.  It might not be a bad idea to run a "cocktail" of anti-malware elimination steps (as detailed in this "recipe") on the off-chance something malicious has insinuated itself on your system that you're not aware of.
Excellent observation, about the screen saver never kicking in.  That's the "giant clue" that something is running on your system which is simulating a human interface, in my opinion.  Without first getting the screen saver as you should, you will NEVER get the power-save second stage as you want.

  • Lenovo E535 blank display but works with external VGA

I have a Lenovo E535 where the LCD display is completely blank. It works with an external screen connected to the VGA port. Using the F6 key to toggle between displays makes no difference. The AMD Vision Engine Control Centre only detects the external display. The Lenovo hardward tests do not detect any problems with graphics.
So I thought it must be a problem with the LCD panel itself and I have replaced it. The new one does not work either (so that was a waste of money!)
Does anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
Have you tried booting the computer into the BIOS Setup to see if there is a screen display?  That would circumvent any operating system related problems.
Other possibilities...... Bad video cable.  A used one on eBay would be a cheap thing to try. Less than $10 (U.S.)  Especially if the laptop you are working on had loose hinge problems or is frequently opened and closed.
A bad LCD replacement is another possibility.

  • Blank display when exiting X, using NVidia blob

I'm using the proprietary NVidia drivers for my Macbook's 9400M graphics card, and while X can start, it seems to have trouble quitting. I can startx normally, but if I kill X or quit my window manager, the screen will go entirely blank. The system is not actually frozen, because if I issue a "reboot" command while in X, the screen will blank for just a moment (as opposed to showing the console, which it usually does) before rebooting normally. I've also tried to startx from the console, quit the WM, and blindly type "sudo reboot" and my password, after which the computer still reboots. If I blindly type "startx", the display will show whatever's in X as it would normally, but once again blanks when I return to the console. Xorg.0.log says that the server terminated normally.
It seems to me that the console is still present and working, but not doing anything. What can I do to restore its normal behavior while keeping the NVidia binary blob?
EDIT: I might not have been clear on what happens when I first start the computer. The console appears normally before X starts, but it only breaks after X has been started at least once.

Try downgrading if possible. There are some kernel line switches that may help (e.g. acpi=off) but it's all Greek me.

  • Yet Another Blank Display Issue!

Hello there. I appear to be having a variant of the screen failure problem. However, I am almost certain it's not the GPU failing. Here's my symptoms:
In all other respects, the MBP is completely functional. However, when I shut down and restart it, or close the screen, the display is blank when it powers back up. I think the problem is with the hibernation cycle:
    1. The power light remains on when the lid is closed, and the MBP continues to run
    2. When the battery is allowed to drain, the power light blinks on and off as though the computer were asleep
    3. When it's actually working, the only thing abnormal is the power light, which turns off when the display is on, and on when the display is off (default screensaver thing)
I'm pretty much certain it isn't the NVIDIA problem, because I tried all the fixes up to and including connecting up to another apple and manually deleting the mkext cache and sleepimage file, which eventually worked. However, this proved to be only a temporary solution: as soon as I tried to reset it or let it hibernate, the screen went away and hasn't come back since without this difficult-to-achieve fix (I live near Dundee, and my nearest Apple-owning friend lives in Aylesbury).
One interesting thing I noted (which has convinced me that the problem is caused by a hibernation fault) is that almost immediately upon its deletion, both the mkext cache and the sleepimage file would be recreated, and I was eventually forced into a ridiculous race with the machine to shut it down and restart it normally before it could break itself again.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this variation of the problem, or if anyone is aware of the particular bug or fault responsible, and of a more permanent solution, short of never turning it off again.
    Thanks.

  • Blank display panel problem

I have an application which collects data from several sources, displays the data on multiple panels, and writes the data to disk. This program also uses the CIVIC Web Server. The program has run correctly for days and even weeks.  Eventually the display panels all go blank.  The panels are still there but contain only white space.  The collection and writing of data to disk, however, continues.  When the program is stopped (from the task bar or task manager) and restarted, it performs normally again.
Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior?  I suspect that it might have something to do with the web server, but I have another very similar program running on a different PC also using the web server.  This program does not have the blank screen problem.
Thanjs for any light you can shed on this.
    Bruce Andrews

    Hello Judy -
I recently saw this in a CVI program I had written, and in my case, the cause was a memory leak in my program.  If you open task manager when you see this white screen, how much memory is the CVI application using??
I would also make sure you've enabled extended debugging on your development machine in debug mode, which should show you any memory leaks you may have.  Just enable extended debugging through the Options»Build Options dialog, and then run your program under the debugger.  You should allow the program to exit normally.  If the Resource Tracking window then displays, it is an indication of resources that need to be cleaned up.  For more information, refer to this document.
