Workflow controlled transports

Hi all,
I have a 4 system test ladscape with a virtual system (4th ) in between quality and production. I m trying to configure Workflow controlled transports. I have chosen one system in the landscape to act as the work flow engine. The configuration is complete.
I login to my development system as user developer with dev rights and create a request. Once i release the request a transport proposal is automatically created, here i choose the target system as QAS. I then login as admin to my QAS system and navidate to my TMS worklist where i can see this request.
When i approve the request the import starts and when i reject the request i get a message saying that a message was sent to the owner of that request that the request has been rejected.
As per SAP documentation the developer can login to DEV system and can see his inbox thru SE09. The problem i am facing here is that there is no message listed in developers inbox stating that my request was rejected.
I am not able to find any sol/doc for this problem, has any one seen this b4 ?
thanks !.

SAP Note : 313991
Due to the approval of a request in the QAS system, this becomes
active in the import queue of system VDE (status: Request is ready
for import). Refused requests receive the following status:
Request was refused.
o The RSTMS_DIST_APPROVED_REQUESTS program is used to transfer the
requests with the status "Request is ready for import" from the VDE
import queue to the supply system of VDE (that is, the PRD
production system or, if necessary, several production systems and
clients) and then to delete them from the import queue of VDE.
Refused requests (status: Request was refused) are also deleted
from the VDE queue.
You can choose between the following options:
- Transfer all approved requests:
All approved requests from the VDE queue which are before the
end are transfermark (stop mark) red. All requests that have
not yet been processed with the QA procedure remain in the VDE
queue until a decision (approval or refusal) has been made.

  • Workflow for transport request

    Hi experts,
i want to create a workflow that if any user want to transport the request to the production server then mail shud go to basic administrator for relesed the request.
Is any standard worklow exist for this
    regards
    Sid

    Hi Sid,
Check if FM 'BAPI_CTREQUEST_RELEASE' is useful for you.
You can create a workflow and add an activity step to call this FM.

  • Error in workflow for transport proposal

    Hi
I've got an error in transport proposal. Actually we are creating transport proposal after realeasing transport . There is a workflow running behind it. it's a standard workflow template no : WS30000524.
It was running absolutely fine till yesterday. But today I've found a strange error. The error is as below:
Problems occurred when generating a mail
Error '9' when calling service 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'
Workflow 179001: Repair message for error & could not be created
Inconsistent workflow definition: Node/step number 1 is not available
Error '9' when calling service 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'
Inconsistent workflow definition: Node/step number 1 is not available
Workflow 179001: Repair message for error & could not be created
Problems occurred when generating a mail
Also, the container SOFM,CTProposal etc are not actually even displayed in the WF log. No step has been created.
    Is there any config missing?
It would be very helpful if anyone has faced such issue and can help me.
    Thanks
    Moumita

    Hi
i'm using version 4.7. Also I've checked the wf template there is no fork. It's a standard wf... template number I've mentioned in my first mail.
While transporting any change feom Development system to Test system we are actually creating transport proposal. You can find a tab of transport proposal in SE10. After creating this transport proposal a standard wf got triggered for approval of transport proposal. This workflow went into error.
hope this small backgroung will help you to get into my actual issue.
Please let me know if you have any understanding regarding the root cause of this issue.
    Thanks

  • Solution Manager & Workflow driven Transport Mangement

    Dear SDN Members,
I would like to know if it is possible to use a workflow drivene TMS within the Solution Manager 3.2 using serveral approval steps. For instance an approval between DEV and QAS and an approval between QAS and PRD.
We would like to implement the workflow for our 4 system R/3 landscape, 3 system BW and XI landscape.
    Regards,
    Niek Weustink

    Hi Mrutyunjay,
As far as I know, you can only attach one CTS project per Solution Manager Project.
The idea is that for each different project you have for your satellite systems you´ll have to have one Solution Manager project.
This way you can use the features on Solution Manager side to control all changes ( for instance, using Change Request Management ).
Part of the CTS functionalities that we have on standard SAP installations are being migrated to Solution Manager controls.
So, you can have as many CTS projects you need on your ECC as long as you have their correspondent Solution Manager projects.
Based on ITIL standards, Solution Manager is the central point to control all changes you make in your systems.

  • Mail Control - Transport Rule Predicate "RecipientAddressContainsWords"

"RecipientAddressContainsWords" uses a Words type predicate property. Below is the explanation of the usage and limitation of the Words type property:
The Words property accepts one string or an array of strings. It's used in all predicates that inspect different parts of a message for specific words or strings.
In Exchange 2010, only instances of the word without a prefix or suffix are matched. For example, if you specify the word "contoso", the rule will fire only if an exact match is found. The following variations where the word appears as a suffix,
a prefix, or between other characters (other than the space character) aren't considered an exact match:
    Acontoso
    Contosoa
    Acontosob
The property isn't case-sensitive. The asterisk (*) is treated as a literal character, and not used as a wildcard character.
This makes me believe that you cannot block domains (or whitelist domains) by using domain.com in the array (or @domain.com), because it will never be an exact match. There will never be spaces on either side of the string.
Is this correct? Is there a better method (predicate) to block or whitelist domains?

    Hi Cross,
According to my knowledge, you don’t have to worry about the words type.
For example, if you want to delete the messages from a domain, you could create a Transport Rule like this:
    Conditions:
    The sender address includes 'Contoso.com'
    Actions:
Delete the message without notifying anyone
By the same token, you could create Transport Rules to block or whitelist domains.

  • Copy control transport orders

    Hello Gurus:
Quickly question: How we can modify the copy control between transport order and deliveries?
I want add a conditions to copy the values of the field between the transport order and the delivery.
    Thanks in advance
    javier

    Hello Javier,
If you are using SAP version 4.7 or below then you could configure it via OMGN.
or if you are using ECC 6.0 ( I believe even 5.0 ) then you need to manually Browse from SPRO>MM>Purchase Order--> Set Up Stock Transport order.
Here u can setup  all the relevant config pertaining to Transport orders.
    thanks

  • Re: Transport Workflow Confirguration

    Hi friends,
Presently we are using Queue Controlled Transport Strategy for our R/3 4.7 system landscape. We are planning to replace the Queue Controlled Transport Strategy with Workflow Controlled Transport Strategy. My question is " Can we configure tp approval levels in Workflow Controlled Strategy like from enduser(tp owner)->Functional Lead (approver)--> Basis Administrator automatically?"
Any help would be highly appreciated
    Thanks,
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
I'm not quite sure I'm reading your question correctly, so maybe I need to retune my answer later.
This is a quote from the help files:
<i>By default, there are 3 system-wide approval steps and the step Approved by system administrator is active.
You can also define other steps in addition to the default approval steps. If you define additional approval steps and have configured more than one QA system, you can determine if the additional steps are to be system-/client-specific (only one QA system) or cross-system/client (global).</i>
As you can see you would need to activate the enduser and departmental approval in order to fulfill your requirements.
I hope I have answered your question.
    Best regards,
    Alexander

  • What is CTS ? what is the role of CTS in between DEV and QAS?

    Dear
What is CTS ? what is the role of CTS in between DEV and QAS?

    hello, friend.
actually, you can search for subjects like this in the threads archive.  you will be pleasantly surprised to find that there are already many threads with similar issues and that you can find answers to even more otherwise unrealized questions.  and you don't have to wait for anyone to reply.
it looks like the issue is urgent for you, and this is why i am attaching this feed from Sadhu Kishore, which was posted some time ago... (if he replies to your thread, you may choose to award him points).
    "Hi,
The transport workflow provides a framework for transporting enhancements or new developments of existing business functions in a system landscape. It provides a direct connection between development and transport administration. The transport workflow manages the transport process, determines the user for each individual step automatically, and then displays an interface which they can use to perform the task directly.
It is an efficient method of transporting a selected number of requests into a group of transport targets, and uses clearly defined approval steps to ensure the quality of your target systems. The requests can be transportable change requests, Customizing requests, relocation transports or transports of copies. The transport targets do not need to be located on defined transport routes. However, the transport workflow can involve some risks, caused by the dependencies between transport requests:
    Import sequence
It is important that you import requests in the correct order, so that development work is up-to-date in the target system.
    Incompleteness
It is important that the functions transported in the transport proposal are complete; otherwise errors may occur in the import system.
A request is not imported, but it contains an important data element. You use another request to transport a table that references this data element. Since the referenced data element does not exist in the target system, activation errors will occur when you import the second request.
The transport workflow is a generic workflow. Its ability to process the transport route configuration in TMS enables it to adapt itself to any system landscape. This means you can transport multiple requests into multiple targets, even if these targets are not located on the transport routes.
This reduces the amount of work for the transport administrator significantly. The automated nature of the workflow also reduces the likelihood of errors during transports.
You can use the transport workflow in two different ways.
Transport workflow as a transport strategy
If you have production systems in your landscape that can only accept approved transports, we recommend that you use the transport workflow to organize and coordinate the transport process.
To do this, set Workflow-controlled transports as your transport strategy and configure the transport workflow.
When you release a transport request, the transport workflow starts automatically and the screen Create Transport Proposal appears. The requests are then released implicitly when the transport proposal is sent to the transport administrator.
    Special transport workflow (mass transports)
You can use the special transport workflow to make transports that do not follow the defined transport routes or that take place outside the normal transport schedule (part of the mass transport strategy). These transports may be corrections made in the development system that have to be transported into the production system without delay.
To use the special transport workflow, set Mass transports as your transport strategy and configure the transport workflow."
thanks.  you have been most generous.
    regards.

  • Issue Transporting Business workflow from one System to Another

    Hi All,
As there are many limitations in Import/Export of Workflow I'm going for a Transport of Workflow from one sytem to another.
There are some query's reagrding transporting of the Business Workflow through Transport Request.
    1)   How can get the Transport Request no. of the Workflow to be transported? (As there are no direct versions displayed from  menu).
    2)   If there are any dependent objects first how to find the dependent objects lof workflow like if  any data element, Domain, Table, Structure (if these objects are used in your WF definition or may be BOR method), Function module, function group BOR, Rule, WF template, task and Task assignment  ?
    3) How to get Transport Request no. of such dependent objects specifically The Task,Rule , WF template etc.?
    4) I have object Type ZBUS2081 related to it how can i get its TR ?
Please describe as I'm new to workflow.
Please identify if there can be some issues after transporting workflow .
    Regards,
    Ujjwal

    Hi Ujjwal,
    Please find the below hint's.
    1. Regarding the objects included in the Transport request check the Tables - E070*.
    2. For dependent objects, you should check the workflow template. You have to check all the Task's and in the task go to
utilities ---> Object directory entry --> Lock overview . Here you can see the request. It will show you the current request for    the Task.
    3. To get the TR for Business object, Go to basic data ---> Transport data --> Here you can see the Request ID for the business object.
    Thanks,
    Viji.

  • BSP link to Workflow task after transport - trans BDLSS

I was able to call a BSP from SAPGUI inbox (trans SBWP) by doing the necessary config in transactions WF_HANDCUST and WF_EXTSRV - generate my task from WF_EXTSRV, etc.  The task was generated as a local object but I converted this to a transportable object.
This worked in our development system.
I need to get this into a test system and all the config/workflows was transported correctly.  However the link between the bsp and task is not on table SWLWPTSSID as in dev 010.
Iu2019m trying to run transaction BDLSS or report RBDLSMAP to convert the table but that does not appear to be working.  What table should I convert in trans BDLSS? Does anyone have any idea what Iu2019m doing wrong?

    All,
Resolved this. Here is the solution -
It came down to bad/missing entries in table SWLWPTSSID. This is the table that links the web service maintained in WF_EXTSRV with the workflow task. As it is a client-dependent setting, when you transport the task and webservice you also need to adjust this table using transaction SM30.

  • Control transmission inside workflow

    Hi Everyone!
I am asking your help in fact of workflow control. I need some information about how is transmitted the control between the blocks/events inside a workflow?
Is there any special method for this?
It is important for me because I should have to refer to a custom made workflow step (e.g. a decision event) from ABAP.
    thanks in advance
    Peter

    Hi Martin,
Main main goal is to use a button on IP surface. This button should indicate an approve step in the workflow. I want to use decision events in my workflow, so I have to link somehow the button on the ip surface and the workflow step. I think the best way can be to write an abap code for the ip button.
I need some information for this code, because I don't know how to refer to a workflow step (decision event with 1-2-3 custom options) from abap.
    thanks

  • GRC 10.0 - Transport Connector Relevant Settings

    Hi Gurus,
Many of you have already completetd GRC 10.0 implementaion. One of the Key advantage of GRC 10.0 stated as "Changes can be transported".
While carrying out configuration settings under nodes SPRO -->GRC --> Common Component Settings --> Integration Framework and other Subsequent nodes in Access Control, we find many steps involve Connector, Connector Mappings, Actions related Settings which are connector dependent.
Further, there are relevant sub-nodes viz. User Defaults, User data sources, HR Triggers etc., which involve connector values as part of configuration steps.
We have created Back end test / Development related connectors and carried out the relevant configuration settings. We find that all these settings are getting collected in the transport request.
Once we move this transport request to GRC QAS / Production landscape all the back-end Test / Development /QAS related connector settings will also move. Further this will also call for defining back-end Production systems related Connector Settings in GRC Development System itself.
Looking forward for inputs with respect best practices for managing the GRC 10.0 config / workflow related transports across Dev / QAS / landscape.
    Regards
    Hemant

    Hi Hemant
SAP has made a lot of the transport functionality in GRC10. I find that they hereby created a huge expectation with the customer, that in fact is not true.
For instance Exclusion Objects and Mitigation Controls are NOT transported. What about Organizations? Critical Roles and Profiles are also not transportable.
As for the Connectors - system specific parameters are transported. Therefore you end up having to delete the DEV and QA connectors in the PRD GRC system.
On this question, has anyone used CLM yet? It seems that only Functions and Risks will be extracted to CLM and then deployed in the other system (DEV to QA for example). Does CLM even work?
SAP provide not guidance on all of these important issues. I agree that it is about time that SAP takes some leadership and produce a proper best practise guide for this software. By the way, an offical sizing document from SAP is still to be delivered.
    Thanks
    Will

  • Recent Workflow Version not active in Production server

    Hi Gurus,
Recently, I made a  minor change to an existing workflow. After the changes, it was transported to QA and Production. In QA, the changes are reflected and when I click on the version overview tab of the workflow, I can see that my last changed version is the active version. But, In production server the last version is  not active. The previous version before my changes remains as the active version. Though it shows my version their, it is not active and the change are not yet reflected.
To solve this I tried following ways,
    1)  I refreshed the buffer in SWU_OBUF in Production, but no improvements.
    2) Then I tried to check, if there could be any errors when I activate the workflow in Development server. But, there are no errors except few warnings like some of the variables declared for the workflow but not used. So, this also does not help.
    3) Then I tried changing the workflow to tag it again to a transport request thinking in a way, previously there might be a problem in attaching the active object. But, even after transporting the second changes, the workflow version is still not active in Production. But, it is active in QA.
Please let me know, if I can try any other ways which is not mentioned above!
    Thanks a million.
    AM

    Hello,
Check the transport logs for any errors and make sure all the transports have been done, and in the right order.
What was the minor change that you made?
You can get situations like this when you eg create a task, don't transport the task, and then add the task to a workflow and transport the workflow. In Development all will be fine, but not so in QA and/or Production.
