Workflow duplication

Hi there, we are currently experiecing a probelm of duplication of workflows fomr tme and agin. ?Is thereanyone who knows what i can look at in trying to analyse this problem, or of an OSS note that is available.
Pat

Hi Pat,
regarding your description of the behavior and the fact that one workflow is triggered by the system and one by you I would kindly ask you to check the entries in transaction SWE2 for object DRAW.
Please see the SAP note 1035333 which should be useful for the mentioned issue.

  • Duplication of workflow, transport of workflow

    Hi All,
In an application we use workflows for certain procedures.
We have workflows that are almost alike to each other. These we have to build one by one nbecause it is impossible to duplicate a workflow. (the function is greyed out).
Second. As we go from one environment to the other we use export repository but helas, the workflow is not exported. Is the only way to transport using archiving and unarchiving?
thanks in advance for your help
    Harrie

    Hi,
    1. is it impossible to duplicate a workflow?
Ans:yes, till now in SP05 we dont have this functionality.
2.Is the only way to transport using archiving and unarchiving?
Ans: Yes, you are right. only archive and unarchive is only way to export repositories over the systems like:
    development>quailty>production.
    Pls reward if found helpful.
i think we are still on sameissue as Amol give steps, this is not the actual duplicate.
Duplicate always means to have same things in your record,
if you are changing names then how it remains dulicates.

  • APERTURE PHOTO BOOK WORKFLOW

I'm new to Aperture (1.1) and am looking for advice on the best workflow to create Apple Photo Books. Issues include:
    1. Getting the correct version of the photo into the book
    2. Copying the photos in correct order with a single copy/drag command
    3. Ensuring there are no duplicates
    4. Not having the photo name in the Book
I had created an Aperture Album for the Photo Book. Took care to drag the best version (which is the last version) of the photo into the album (with an error here). After numerous attempts, I gave up on trying to get the correct, better version of the photo into the Book (just re-edited the version I had). Tried to manually arrange the photos within the Album in the order I wanted to have them in the Book (they are ordered by date) but was unsuccessful in re-ordering. In creating the Book I had to individually drag each photo to it's page and had to manually keep track of which ones I was using (resulting in one duplication). As I was fine tuning the Book and rearranging the photos, there wasn't a place to temporarily store the photos (this is how I inadvertently got a duplicate). Also, I had to manually remove each photo name that was attached to each photo in the Book(perhaps there is an easy option here I don't know about yet?).
Interested in any pointers to expedite creating these Photo Books. Missing some of the iPhoto Book creation tools!
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

i am no expert on books, but in the one i am working on, i set the image i wanted to use as the stack pick before i made my book selections. i always manually load pages, so i can't help you there. in the browser of my book, the thumbnails of images used in the book have a red badge in the upper right corner showing how many times they have been used in the book. that should help you with duplicates.

  • Workflow suggestions

I've pretty much accepted that I'm going to have to wait until I've flattened my image to use the clone tool or healing brush tool. I can't use them now. In order from bottom to top I have a locked background layer, a noise reduction layer and two copy and paste layers. I have tried to clone or spot heal by duplication a layer by  1. duplicating the background layer, right clicking it and then choosing Duplicate Layer. I have also tried getting a layer to clone on by 2. doing Layer>New>Layer Via Copy. I notice that these choices produce different-looking boxes. Th first has Background Copy in the layer and the second Layer 1. What's the difference between these two ways of getting a layer and does it affect ability to clone or spot heal in any way? Also, I plan to make Levels one of my last adjustments. Any thoughts about that? I have noticed and have been told that where Levels is in the stack can affect the image. Why is that? I have done research and it seems that found out that any noise reduction should be done first and that any sharpening should be done last. Any other advice and cautions about workflow?

If the object is to clone non-destructively, after flattening and re-saving your image, it’s possible to add a blank layer above the background. You do that by clicking the new document icon at the bottom left of the layers pallet.
Then make sure layer 1 is active, select the clone tool and make sure sample all layers is checked. You can then clone directly on to the blank layer without changing the background layer.

  • Create customer in workflow

    hi gurus,
what is the business object for create customer, how to solve  this  scenario.
    pl help me
    1) Create customer master
    2) Change Customer master
    3) Display customer master
    4) When the customer master record is created it should trigger a workflow to another user for approval. Once approved, the customer master should be created in the system
    5) When the system master record is being created, duplication check should be performed for name, city, postal code, email I'd etc.
    regards
    vijay

    Hi Vijay
Since every business has different requirements, you should consider looking at the SAP-delivered workflows for customer creation first.  They would provide you with a model upon which you could base your own workflow - or better yet, you may be able to use it out of the box
Have you taken the SAP Tutorials on Workflow?  I think they are a must-do for anyone new to WF.

  • BPM workflows Vs MDM internal workflows.

need clarity on BPM workflows Vs MDM internal workflows.
    My understanding:
BPM are kind of workflows created on portal.
and MDM workflows are internal within MDM system.
    Questions:
    1. Are BPM workflow and MDM Workflows are connected in anyway.
      a. If YES,How? Pls give me an example.
      b. If NO, when exactly are MDM workflows used and when are BPM workflows used.
    2. How are validations done in BPM
    3. What is the role of web services in BPM, when exactly we are using
       web services.
.......... Pls explain with example if possible.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    ve

    Hi Veena.
As a definition SAP BPM is a component helps you to model, execute, and monitor your business processes based on a common process model. BPM is used to create composite applications and to streamline a process of execution. It can model the application with different areas using webservices etc.
SAP BPM provides modeling and implementation for a UI centric business process u2013 you can develop the business process based on BPM modeling tools.
    1.
    a. Are BPM workflow and MDM Workflows are connected in anyway.
As far as I know, it is Not.
    b. If NO, when exactly are MDM workflows used and when are BPM workflows used
    - MDM Workflow is extensively used in case of MDM Components for Cleansing, de-duplication, validation, approval etc. A MDM Workflow is tightly integrated with the MDM Clients to perform the operations.
    - BPM workflow is of UI centric business process to integrate various functional usecases.
    2.
Validations are created in BPM using the validation rules framework or BRM(Business Rules Mangement) based on the functionality. User can create their own validations from this layer.
    3. As a definition, Web services are typically application programming interfaces (API) or web APIs that can be accessed over a network. So if Im designing an application which creates a purchase order in the back end, an webservice should be exposed where I pass the required inputs and get the desired output. The validations are exposed as webservices which can be used in BPM.

  • Validations and workflows

hi.....can any one tell me wat is meant by validations and workflows  and the difference between them. And plz explain me the functions and there syntax .....

    Hi,
Validations are used in MDM data manager for the data compliance i.e to check the structure of data if it is according to the business standards or not.Validations are written in data manager and applied and the result(True /False) are used for further actions.
Ex like a record Emailid is there.A validation is written to check if there is @,.com,.in etc are there or not.If not then email-id is not proper so we will make that email-id value blank by calling a assignments on the basis of the result of validations .
Have a look at the following links. They will help you to understand them better.
    Validations:
    MDM Validations
New Webinar About Validations with MDM 5.5
Workflow as the word suggest ,is to make the business solution to be in working format by including all the process of data add/update/import/ Validating/De-duplication/merging etc(as per business req.)
Workflow is used to automate the whole process.

  • Inconsistency with import workflow

Hello gentlemen and ladies, as well as Apple Community friends,
For past consecutive, straight days of trying to import AVCHD (.mts native files) from Canon VIXIA HF S21 HD CMOS camcorder, believe me, I have try all possible solution to import through connected camcorder to Final Cut Pro X.
As of last night, what I had discovered is stubborn spinning of waiting and waiting to import, nothing happens. It seems that it see Canon directory files, but nothing to import for minutes, hours. What's holding it back?
I have imported native directories from Canon camcorder within Mac Finder exactly what is stored on camcorder built-in flash card, and two flash cards. It kinda of can see the card reader or files on hard drive, but it still spins, and spins. What the heck is going on?
As of last night, I am amazed to discover that consumer-version, iMovie, can read and import no problem. I don't understand why pro app such as Final Cut Pro X cannot, while iMovie can.
It seems to me that I can import iMovie files into Final Cut Pro X. But the problem I have is duplication of files, and file explodes like crazy. And double time of waiting to import into iMovie, and then into Final Cut Pro X. It seems that iMovie convert mts file as QuickTime movie format (AIC). Not Apple ProRes.
As some of you know, I have no problem importing AVCHD files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. Why can't do the same with Final Cut Pro X? I just don't understand.
I really like Final Cut Pro X. But I don't see any truly seamless 'workflow'. I see no piece of an evidence of such smooth straight import files into Final Cut Pro X the way I want it to be - into Apple ProRes format.
My hands are up in the air and a little frustrated. I have posted for some help in the past few days. Some people has claimed that they have same kind of camcorder as I have and experienced no problem. I am trying to understand how? I just don't get it?
What a shame that Apple do not put suffice information in Final Cut Pro X Help.
I might go to Apple store here in greater Toronto area near my residence as there are a couple of Apple stores around near my residence. But I would prefer to resolve this through Apple Community discussion... as Apple store is always packed with tons of people browsing all over the place. Not only that, but communication challenge due to the fact I am Deaf.
Please give me a crystal clear steps for me to reproduce. Please be sure that you have the same camcorder as I have. Canon VIXIA HF S21, that is.
Thank you for all you help. Any help and assistance would be deeply appreciated.
Have an amazing, most beautiful day (it is gorgeous and pleasant) summer day here in Canada!
    TIA, Brian

    Hello Tom,
Just wanted to follow up and thought that I'd want to report back. I am glad to find a reasonable solution to deal with this stubborn, annoying import workflow problem. I am glad that I went to Apple retail store earlier today. Actually, the first guy at the Genius Bar at the store admitted that it was beyond his expert, but he has managed to get someone somewhere in the store on staff who happened to know a lot about Final Cut Pro X. Again, he also admitted that Final Cut Pro X issues are new to them.
They witnessed that my issue not able to get this camcorder not playing nicely with Final Cut Pro X. And it seems that Final Cut Pro X can see the SDHD cards inside camcorder. We believe that Final Cut Pro X app do not see or understand anything inside that built-in memory card inside the camcorder, which is a 64-GB flash memory fixed inside the camcorder.
I realize that most of my footages remain inside that built-in flash memory, and plan to transfer these clips from built-in memory into two SDHD flash cards. From now on, I would think I want to shoot clips and have it recorded straight to those two SDHD extreme pro.
What we have found that Final Cut Pro X finally imports media files from SDHD card. Although, I didn't bring my express card reader with me - forgot to bring it with me to Apple store earlier.
Therefore, I recommend that it is wise to connect camcorder to computer, then turn camcorder on. Once the cards shown on Desktop. Then open Final Cut Pro X. If connected camcorder to computer using USB connection, I don't highly recommend it - it is a pain and slow process. If you have quite few footages, go for it. But if you have large and/or many footages, go for express card reader or use FireWire connection if camcorder has this feature. Otherwise use express card reader, the better. Fastest one, the best.
And, I decided to sign up for One-to-One programme offered through Apple retail store so that I get both of my hands dirty under the hood of Final Cut Pro X along with Motion and Compressor. It would be easier for me, especially myself being Deaf, having difficulties in securing sign language interpreters for such workshop or training. It is hard to get talented interpreter to do technical interpreting especially with video editing or photo editing. So I decide to go for one-to-one, in-person basis with trainer from Apple retail store. Best of all, it is good for a year. Not bad for the good price, I guess.
Well, I am glad that I got this stubborn annoying issue resolved. So I can move this forward. I would expect that I probably will have some questions from time to time if needed to.
I told Apple team at Apple store earlier that Final Cut Pro X help material is really lousy and not well thought details. Lot of info left out. They told me it is still new and assured me that Apple corporate level will get this resolved. I hope so, sooner the better.
    Enuf blah for now.
BTW, I am able to import footages (mts/avchd files) into Final Cut Pro X with no problem from card reader using express card reader... BAM, here it goes. Fast! I see that, by opening Quicktime info on one of those optimized file done by Final Cut Pro X, I like what I see... H.264 codec. And this is 1080i HD this time. I didn't see that before. Today is my first time seeing 1080i.
I have quick question.. what is difference between 1080i and 1080p? What is good thing about 1080i? The trainer guy at Apple store said it is really high quality - 1080i. Is this true? I want to hear both side of perspective, the better informed for myself and others who have similar question as I do.
    Well, better stop for now...
Tom... and few others, thank you for your patience, and lots of efforts helping me out for past few days. I look forward to contribute myself to the Final Cut Pro X community. But first, I gotta to get both of my hands dirty under the hood of Final Cut Pro X... Play with it... Rough it up and see what it can do.
Thanks for all that you guys do!
    Bonne nuit!
    Brian

  • Preferred import workflow for FCP X?

I'm still a little puzzled by the new approach to importing. I support the X overhaul, but I just want to grab footage from CF cards, store it on my Video drive, then reference it in the projects.
I dont care much for the iPhoto-style 'Events', but am prepared to be persuaded, especially if they allow for easy sharing of media between projects.
Online tutorials seem to suggest importing to a drive, copying the footage into a new event, *and* transcoding to ProRes. This seems like a load of duplication and drive-filling...
Any thoughts/opinions? What is your preferred workflow? Do we still need ProRes?

    Hi Ben
Yes, the workflow is very different and the sooner you forget the legacy the easier it will get. You are right about the file sizes and the transcoding to ProRes, though as mentioned by Andy, it is not always needed. Wait until you start shooting in 1080p50/60fps then you will see the real large sizes. I have been tossing things left and right and ended up with ProRes that make my workflow a lot easier. Drawback large sizes (Factor 4 of original media) but I am shooting in 50fps Full HD. Having said that, I do not need the optimised media but after experimenting and testing, now I want it. This made me to invest in another 2TB hard drive.
Now with respect to Events, Clips and Projects, well, it may be easier to think about it as follows:
EVENTS are the collections of shots during a shoot EVENT.
PROJECTS are your 'sequences' that you can compose based on any events you ever shot.
This is actually not a bad way to approach the workflow, as long as you are organising your events and projects in a meaningful way to yourself. There are many workaround options for specific needs too, if you need that, using disk images, other HDs, ...etc
    Hope this is somehow helpful.

  • Workflow with image downloads....

    Hi,
Just wondering if someone could post a brief description of their workflow when downloading photos from a media card? Do you import them only into iphoto, or do you copy them to your hard drive and then import to iphoto? (I understand there is a duplication factor here.)
As well, I'm used to resizing my final picture in Photoshop through the image resizing option which of course lowers file size. Does iphoto have such a capability?
I'm new to iphoto (and the Mac), and I like the image adjustment tools with the exception of the touch-up tool. Have any of you began to use iphoto in place of Photoshop for some of your work?
    Thanks to all in advance
    HH

    happy hanks
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I import directly into iPhoto, what's the point in the duplication?
As well, I'm used to resizing my final picture in Photoshop through the image resizing option which of course lowers file size. Does iphoto have such a capability?
Okay, here's a quantum shift: resizing the file like this will actually take more disk space, not less. Why? because iPhoto ALWAYS keeps your Original file and all operations are carried out on a copy. So, when you edit, iPhoto preserves your original and saves the changes in a modified version.
You can resize pics with iPhoto on export (File -> Export)
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically.
I use iPhoto for the basics - which is about 95%, like I need PS for cropping? - then PS for the rest.

  • Duplication of leads in sales online screen

    1) Duplication of leads in sales online screen : when a lead is created in the lead screen by a sales rep but when with the same customer info & same product an another lead is created by another sales rep the system is accepting not sending even the notification or not allowing the sales rep to create or giving the message "already lead created " .
    2) Not able to remove the accept button & convert to opportunity button in order to restrict the sales rep only when the sales manger accepts the lead by checking accepted check box provided in the sales online>lead screen
    3) Any difference oracle sales Vs Oracle sales online????

    Hi Mahendra,
    1. Duplication of Leads is allowed. Logically, if you have multiple sales guys who are talking to the same customer / prospect, then it is possible to get leads for the same product for the same company. There is no filtering technique that can be brought at this stage. However, there is something called as Lead Qualification which is also done by the sales rep and at that stage, they can also set the probablity. At this stage, again logically the Lead can get disqualified as the Rep would talk to the customer/Sales Manager and might get to know that there is already another sales rep talking to them about this.
    2. Standard functionality. When the Lead is converted to an opportunity and an oppty gets converted to a quote, the quote needs an approval. This approval is governed by the Approval workflow which is set at the setup stage.
    3. The underlying functionality would be the same except certain features. I havent worked on the differenced anyways.

  • Duplication master from DVD-9's

I've been asked to provide new masters for a job we did a couple of years ago, and I want to make sure my workflow is going to work.
The material is 25 hours of video spread over 5 DVD9s. The client wants to send a set of DVD-Rs without copy protection to India to be used as source for duplication.
There are a couple of issues -
    1. I may not have all the source media still on the system. The client has the original DLTs, and I may still have the builds around, but this project was so bulky, I probably did not keep the encodes, or the FCP capture scratch to re-encode from. In the event that I can't get the encodes back easily, I was considering ripping the finished DVDs with Mac the Ripper.
    2. These are DVD9s. If I burn a dual-layer disc with my super drive, I have to use DVD+R and not -R, correct? Also, I would expect DVDSP to maintain the position of my layer breaks if I burn a DL disc directly form the project, but to rip & burn the VIDEO_TS with Toast may not maintain the layer breaks properly, or does it? How about if I use "format" in DVDSP and point it at the rippped VIDEO_TS, or the build folder from the original project? I have a couple of DVD+R DVD9s I have burned with Toast, and they seem to play through ok on the one player I have that will play DVD+Rs, but I can't tell if the layer break is showing up in the same spot.
    So my questions are:
    1. Can a dual-layer DVD+R actually be used as a valid format for a duplication source, aside from the other possibility for disc errors, lost data, read errors, etc.
    2. If I let Toast or DVDSP put an arbitrary layer break in a disc burned form a ripped VIDEO_TS, could the layer break render the disc unplayable, or do I only run the risk of the break pausing the playback at a less-than-optimum point in the video?
In the past I have tried to investigate the possibility of having DLTs duplicated (to new DLTs), and found no replicator or authoring house that was able to duplicate the DLT. Also, they have specifically requested plain-vanilla burned DVD Rs without CGMS, CSS, or Macrovision as a source for duplication, rather than replication, because I guess they don't have DLTs in India, or so I am told.
The difference between these workflows would be a day to rip and probably a couple weeks to recapture, re-encode, and rebuild the project, and that's even if a dual-layer DVD+R will even work as a duplicaiton source.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions -
    Max Average

We use DL DVD+R in our DL duplicator. Worked fine for use - in fact we didn't even know it was a DL duplication tower till a couple months ago I think of all the time I wasted in the past
Toast will put in it's own layer break - maybe it will be the one you want, maybe not? I hope someone can confirm this but I believe bringing in a .img file to Toast might respect the original Layer break - I'll do some research and get back to you.
As far as duplicating DLTs - I do this all the time with AfterEdit. And many clients want the CSS or Macrovision flags turned off.

  • FCPX eats up my diskspace. Can anyone tell me my ideal workflow?

My specs: - macbook pro, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 int memory
                       - FCP X
                       - Canon Legria HFS100, settings: 24Mbps, 50i (or better PF25??), 1080i
I'm new here. So please forgive my ignorance on some things. Can anyone set me on the right path to make my import/outputsettings and workflow in FCP X ideal  for my use? I'm making movies of my twin kids and my work as a firefighter mainly. So not professional, but enthousiastic amateur.
=> I should import files from my memory-card into FCPX?  And not work with a usb cable? And in the preferences in FCPX, should I mark 'create Proxy media' or 'create optimised media'?
=> I've chosen to import my Imoviefiles to FCPX on my harddrive. Result: Full ! No more HDDspace to work with. So I would like to work with an external HDD. Which specs should that one have? And how do I export or copy my excisting files to that drive to free up disk space and NOT create bugs in the system?
=> How to clean up or find those large files you do not longer need after completing a project?
=> And finally: To store my movies. Should I 'export movie' and which settings do I take best?
    Thanx to help me along!

Well, I guess that explains why I booted up after a weekend away and got a "full disk" message I ended up having to do a disk repair for the first time in 4 years (on this comp).  Still not sure why I only had <2g space.  Last I had looked, thot it was over 40 (but still getting crowded).
Peter: Its hard to say what works as far as an external disk size.  Like what to do upon export, it all depends on your needs.  Since we seem to be in the same neighborhood of what we do, I'll tell you my setup (which seemed overkill 4 years ago) and you can figure at least not to do less.
I've gotten along using my 250g system drive working on one project at a time. My input has always been DV -- either from DV tape or AV/DV Converter via the same camera. My projects have mostly been targeted to 1.5 to 2 hr DVDs.
I have had an external 320g drive for photos, an "abeyance" folder of bits and pieces video files for future projects, and img files of the most recent DVDs.
Processing one project at a time, I have never run out of space on my 250g drive, until I ran into FCPX's duplication of files when "copy" is checked when importing existing files, creation of analyzation and optimization files and,  the humungous render files.
When I moved all FCPX Event and Project files to my "Photo" drive (and deleting duplicated iMovie and FCE files), I ended up with 125g on my system drive, and still have 100g on my "Photo" drive.
Since the majority of my files all start out as SD .dv files (or HD mp4 files), I don't have the needs you will using AVCHD files, so I would say that while 500g should suit your needs, the price difference of a 1TB may make it a no-brainer.
And FW 800, definitely, but I think you already knew that.  RPM?  Since I haven't bought one in 4 years, I dunno what's on the market any more.

  • Avoid customer duplication from KNA1

    Hi ALL,
I am new to SAP MDM.
I am told to find the best possible way to avoid customer duplication in table KNA1,KNB1 and KNVV.
Please let me know any ideas suggestions for doing this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am assuming that you are creating the Customer in MDM and then syndicating the same to ECC System.
You can create a Matching strategy in MDM considering fields such as 'Customer Name', 'Address' etc depending upon your requirement
While creating the customer in MDM, you can run this matching strategy during Workflow.
You can go through the following link for details.
    http://scn.sap.com/people/michael.reil/blog/2006/05/18/mdm-matching-strategies-for-master-data-consolidation
Once you have identified that a record is duplicate or not in MDM, you can have a field populated by the Master Data Creator indicating the system that if that customer is duplicate of not. And based on this field using branch step(of Workflow) only syndicate records from MDM to ECC which are not duplicate.
Thus you will be able to prevent duplicate records in Customer Master in ECC.

  • Error while deploying a workflow in OWB

    Hi,
I am getting the below error while deploying a workflow in Control Center.
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.sql.SQLException: The file /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/bin/admin/rtrepos.properties cannot be accessed or has not been properly created on the server XXXXXX. If the file does not exist or if the database owner (normally user 'oracle') does not have the required file permissions or if the file has not been properly created then the file can be recreated by running the SQL*Plus script /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/rtp/sql/reset_repository.sql (in a RAC environment the file must be manually copied to each server which is used for OWB). Otherwise if using a 10.2 database instance, then please run the SQL*Plus script /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/UnifiedRepos/reset_owbcc_home.sql.
Did any one faced this issue before?
Kindly let me know the steps to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi Vidyanand,
Did you create the runtime access user using the runtime assistant? Did you select the correct runtime repository (if you have more) to associate your runtime access user with?
Note that there are 4 database roles being created when you create a runtime repository owner:
    - OWB_A_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_D_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_R_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_U_<runtime repository owner>
If you would grant those roles to a user, then that user becomes an access user for the user with username <runtime repository owner>.
Note that you can also use the runtime repository credentials to connect to the runtime repository for deployment purposes, but you may not want that because of security concerns.
    Thanks,
    Mark.
