Workflow to erase selected safari cookies?

hello people,
It's been a few weeks now I have trouble with my hotmail account. Whenever I try to login (hotmail.com) I always get the error that my password is not correct (relogin is requested). I try several times but still nothing.
Finally I realised that the problem is caused by the hotmail cookies that are kept in my cookies.plist. So I have to manually erase them everytime I want to login to my hotmail account.
I was wondering either :
- if I could make a workflow with automator to just erase the hotmail cookies from the cookies.plist file, or
- if there is a software out there for deleting user-selected cookies.
thanks,
Christos
PS: about Automator, I found difficulty in how-to-locate/erase the aproppriate lines inside the cookies.plist file. Any help would be well appreciated.

Hi there,
that's the problem...
The cookies.plist has all the cookies in it, so you would have to open the file using either a text editior or Plist editor search for the hotmail cookie and then just delete that one...
It's a bit long winded but it 'possibly' could be done.
You can manually delete the hotmail cookie by going to Safari--Prefs--Security--cookies
...but I can't see a way of automating that, sorry.
Or you could try

  • How to erase selected cookies in Safari?

Hello everyone, I found how to erase ALL cookies but not how too erase selected ones only. Is that possible?
    (iPad, latest iOs)
    Thanks

Yes, I'm sure about that. Some sites may bury cookies in that data, again to get around the cookie manager, but the normal cookies are stored elsewhere. I have verified this with a number of sites which show nothing in the "web data" area but still store cookies which I can confirm by deleting them, visiting the site again, and seeing that iOS now again reports having cookies (the "delete cookies" button is inactive if no cookies are stored).
Apple has documentation on the cookie handling methods here:
    https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundatio n/Classes/NSHTTPCookieStorage_Class/Reference/Reference.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid /20001703-387826

  • Why does it let me erase only one cookie at a time, or all cookies at once, and not let me select multiple cookies that I want to delete?

Do you not realize that there are HUNDREDS of cookies in the Cookie Jar? I want to save SOME of them (banks, stores, Facebook, etc.) but get rid of the rest. Why have you made it so that I can't click & drag (or otherwise select) multiple cookies for deletion? You're going to make me delete them one at a time? What could possibly be the reasoning for such a decision? Or is it an oversight?

  • I can't selectively delete cookies on safari

MY ipad2 has ios 8.1.3 and I would like to delete Safari cookies without losing anything in my web page reading list. I tried to follow directions for this I found on the web, but my Safari settings did not show a button that deletes only cookies. Do I have to get out of all web pages before I can do that? What is the secret?

To delete Cookies choose Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
This will have no effect on your Reading List.

  • Is it possible to extract data from a Safari cookie?

    Hello,
I need to recover a FedEx tracking number that I entered in Safari, and I'm hoping that perchance it was stored somehow in a cookie when I entered the number. It appears that I have a few cookies from FedEx in the list of cookie files on my computer, but I have no idea how to extract anything potentially useful from these files.
After looking up the package on FedEx.com once, I lost the tracking number. I was shipping most of my clothes and some important books from California to Italy (where I'm working for the summer). Now the package hasn't arrived, and nobody at FedEx in either country will lift a finger without the tracking number. This attempt to recover it from Safari is the absolute last thing I can think of to get the magic number back.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks very much,
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian
For Safari, cookie information is stored in your User Library>Cookies folder. The file is cookies.plist. You can open this file with TextEdit. First open Text Edit in your Applications folder. Then file menu>open and navigate to the file.
When open, Apple Key + F key to open the "find" feature. Type in FedEx, select find by clicking on the button rather than pressing return so the find panel does not disappear. Continue to select "find" until you've gone through the entire search. Don't know if a specific cookie (there will be several for FedEx) contains the tracking number, however, I guess you'll soon find out.
    Good Luck

google removed from bookmarks and when selecting safari it does not automatically open to bookmarks as previously did

When Safari launches, tap in the address field (the one on the left) and type "www.google.com" then hit the "Go" button.
After the page finishes loading, hit the "Action" button (the middle button on the bottom button bar that looks like an arrow coming out of a rectangle) and select "Add to Bookmarks" to add the Google page to your bookmarks.
After that, you can hit the Bookmarks button (the button that looks like an open book in the bottom button bar) to access the Google bookmark you just created.

  • I erased my safari, how do I get it back?

Need help! I erased my safari apt and I would like to know how to get it back.

    On 10.8.5 Mountain Lion ?
You need to start in Recovery & reinstall OS X, unless you have a backup or other Mac to copy Safari from.
Backup first, although your files & applications shouldn't be affected

  • Sticking Safari cookies but they are not there in Web Inspector

    Hi,
Now I’ve got the Safari 5.1.10 update (OS X 10.6.8) and still have the same problem as with several versions before, I think it’s even worse now:
When surfing I’m used to “Safari / Reset Safari…” (with all options set to delete but website icons) to start from scratch from time to time.
This will delete cookies and local cache, too, although it’s not clearly mentioned (?).
My start page is google.co.uk and checking with the “Privacy” tab I usually see three items from Google.
I think that would be OK.
    But:
    a) Sometimes there are still cookies / cache from sites that I have visited before,
    and
    b) Sometimes even after Privacy / “Remove All”
(Cookies.plist is empty and Safari/LocalStorage folder is deleted now)
and another Safari “Reset” some will return (e.g wikipedia.org, Local Storage, but also cookies from news or amazon or local storage use by apple.com).
When I check using the Web Inspector / Resources there are no such elements to find, only from Google - but the “Preferences / Privacy” tab seems to know about them and they are back in Cookies.plist and Safari / LocalStorage ???
    c) Sometimes (I know, that’s bad), even when I reset + close Safari, open an other application, start Safari again - bang, several items (often more than before) are listed there but only Google is to be seen in the Web Inspector (screenshot 1).
    d) After closing the Web Inspector and “Remove All” I start the Web Inspector again, just to see e.g. a “cookie folder” from Google but it’s stating “This site has no cookies” (screenshot 2), and there are none in Safari. How would the Web Inspector know about google cookies (or local storage), only to show an empty “folder”?
I really love Safari, I’d simply like to “flush” it from time to time when surfing.
    1) Is it my misunderstanding of Safari cookies / cache? Or the Web Inspector’s display?
    2) Why only “sometimes” (this point is most annoying)?
    3) How could I dig deeper (but I’m not a techie ! ), or
    4) Is this a known bug since years (Safari and / or Web Inspector), I didn’t find a similar topic here in the forums?
Thank you for reading this lengthy and probably confusing stuff,
    Sancho

    @Carolyn:
Yes, I did search before but restricted it to the past month, because I had the feeling that it’s worse now since the update to 5.1.10, but I may be wrong.
It seems this is an old and unsolved common problem.
    @andy:
“Top Sites” is hot, but I’ve never used that funny dots without any mouse-over text.
After deleting (before starting Safari)  it’s restored by a default TopSites.plist, it seems these cookies
    - are only reloaded when viewing the Top Sites (?)
    - are not among my reappearing cookies, I have never seen such a cookie / cache on my system before (e.g. expedia, orbitz, monster, usatoday, disney, craigslist).
And Top Sites would not explain why the Web Inspector has different infos regarding use of cookies and local storage than Safari’s “Privacy” tab.
After playing with deleting TopSites.plist, without surfing, suddenly I have ”121 cookies or other data” at Safari’s Privacy tab, nearly all are listed as “Cache” or “Cache, Cookies” but the Web Inspector doesn’t show any of them, only my google.co.uk items.
---> Thanks, I’ll send a feedback to Apple.

  • How come cookies are no longer visible in the cookies list when I've selected 'Accept Cookies'?

I always run Firefox in private browsing mode. Normally I don't accept cookies, but turn on the 'Accept cookies from sites' when necessary. Until recently when I've selected 'Accept cookies from sites', cookies have shown up in the 'cookies list'. Now they don't. As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything differently. Resetting Firefox makes no difference.

Firefox no longer shows the cookies in the Cookie Manager in you are in Private Browsing mode.

  • Sharpoint designer 2013 crashes when Workflow People/Group Selection after adding AAM

I have same issue as mention in this post. Sharpoint
designer 2013 Stopping when Workflow People/Group Selection. SharePoint designer crashing after selecting peopicker in workflow. This is happening after adding AAM url.
And also as answer mentioned My website has same thing. like http://<systemname> as
    Default and http:\\mycompany.com as
    intranet.
And aslo I opened in website in designer is http://<systemname> .
It used to work before I adding AAM url. Now it is not working.
    ItsMeSri SP 2013 Foundation

    Hi,
Please check ULS log for more information about error to help narrow down the issue.
If you find error message as "the service '/_vti_bin/spclaimproviderwebservice.svc' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation, The exception message is: This collection already contains an address with scheme http, There can be
at most one address per scheme in this collection.
    http://xblogs.kompas-xnet.si/post/SharePoint-Designer-2013-Crashing-when-using-select-peoplegroups-from-SharePoint-site.aspx
Then the issue might be caused by more than one IIS Site Binding in single web application.
Please firstly remove AAM settings following the steps below:
In IIS manager, remove the added url binding from IIS site for SharePoint web application.
In CA, remove url under AAM settings and execute IISReset. Now you can check if the issue is resolved.
If you need to configure AAM for your web application, please extend web application and set AAM on the extended web application.

  • Safari cookies are not turned off when blocked

I delete all Safari cookies and then set preference to ALWAYS BLOCK, but when I later check there are new cookies.  Why?

  • Safari cookie problem 10.5.6

Safari cookies reset after reboot (10.5.6)
Hello my friends, on my Macbook (alluminium 2.4ghz) i have a big problem with Safari.
Every time i reboot the machine , i will loose all the cookies, and so all the Login information of all the websites. Every time i reboot i must spend minutes and minutes to make the login on all the websites. It is really frustrating.
I have double checked all the settings, i have cleaned history, cache and all... i have check the Disk permission .. but the bug still remains .
now i have really no idea on what i can do ! , i am downloading Firefox, because i really can't use safari and every time i reboot spend several time to do the login.

To me it is not after every Reboot but every couple minutes (!!) while the browser is running! Basically while I am on a site and e.g. writing a forum post or whatnot, somehow safari looses the relevant cookie data and I am no longer logged in authenticated. Happens with every site that relies on cookies.
Filed a Webkit Bug (https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23381), but they closed it pointing towards the CFNetwork framework.
Moreover, googling around reveals that we're not alone and that it HAS something to do with the latest 10.5.6 safari update... :-/

  • Hi um i have the ipod 5 and my computer seems to be fine with the wifi but when i pressed wifi and my wifi does not pop up it i put it on airplane mode reset the  networks erased my safari history . and it still has not read my wireless internet ?

hi um i have the ipod 5 and my computer seems to be fine with the wifi but when i pressed wifi and my wifi does not pop up it i put it on airplane mode reset the  networks erased my safari history . and it still has not read my wireless internet ?

    If not:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Then:
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Safari cookies

Hi there, new to the board. Well here goes, trying to login into a bank's website and I get an error message saying cookies are not enabled. Verified all is good,
I have reset cache, turned private browsing on and eventually I get in. I input my info and when I login again all is lost and the message re-appears. I have gone to disk utility and did a repair permissions, created a new user, downloaded 4.1.3 again, still the same. I should point out that we both share the same computer and my access to the bank is fine.
Running 10.4.11 on imac and again safari 4.1.3.
    thanks in advance

Won't log her out? There isn't anywhere on the site that offers a logout? That's unusual. Especially for a banking sites as most will log you out automatically after a certain amount of non activity for security issues.
I doubt removing the bank keychains will make a difference but there is something else to try.
Quit Safari. Open Keychain Access  (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the Safari Forms Autofill keychain.
Relaunch Safari. See if that helped.
Sympatico? I'm not familliar with that.
