Workflow which queries other object from Account

Hi,
I am quite new to Workflows.
I have to design a workflow for account ...I have tow objects Account and Employee(User)..I have a custom field called "code" which holds integer value in both of these objects.All i want is whenever user update the "code" field in accounts then the owner field in the same account should be updated with the Employee Name having that same code from Employee object. i.e it should query the employee object with the "code" field value and should fetch the corresponding employee name and this should e populated in owner field of Account.
How do i do that.Is it possible using workflow

Using Command Line to move objects from one environment to another enviroment

Can the Command Line (sacmd) be used to move Job Groups/Jobs and other object from one environment to another environment? If so, how?

Moving jobs and objects can only be accomplished by using the Transporter application. There is a document called "Transporter User Guide" with a chapter called "Running Transporter in Batch Mode" that details how to send commands to transporter from the command line. It also details how to setup jobs in Tidal to use this command line. Once you have jobs in Tidal using the Transporter command line, you can then use sacmd to run these jobs.
Does this make sense?

Copy Users/Permissions/objects from a database to another database

Can anyone help me how to copy users, permissions, stored procedures, views, functions and all other objects from one database to another database.
I need a SQL Script to get this job done. I cannot use backup restore or SSIS Package.

is this still a problem?
Other objects are not supported by transaction SPAU, there is no navigation to the maintenance tool specially possible.
There is only a sign: you have changed an object which is not supported by the modification assistant and this object is now
delivered from SAP again.
You should use the maintenance tool for this object and your manual notes, which you make during the change of this object. For example, the workflow objects are the following:
PDWA Workflow Pattern with All Versions
PDWS Workflow templates
SCNT Workflow Container PPF (Definition + Data)
SIFL Workflow Documents: Logical Information Object
SIFP Workflow Documents: Physical Information Object
SWFC Workflow Correlation Definition
SWFT Workflow: process type
SWFX Workflow XML Proxy
They can be processed in SE95_UTIL like Julia informed.
Other examples of OTHER OBJECTS found in SPAU:
SmartForms: Object SSFO -> Transaction SMARTFORMS.
Queries: Object AQQU -> Transaction SQ01
In SPAU you can double click at the traffic light and on the next popup you can choose 'Adjust' or 'Reset'.

Triggering workflow of an object from the workflow actions of another

Hi,
We have associated contacts to custom object 5 . For reporting purposes, the value of contact's account is being copied to the custom object's account through workflows whenever custom object record is created or edited. In case a custom object record is created and after that the contact record is updated so that its account gets changed, the custom object records related to that contact need to be updated too, otherwise there is a discrepancy issue. Can we somehow trigger the edit workflow of custom object 5 when the contact's record is updated?
Are there any other methods, if this is not possible , to achieve the result I described?

You can't update another object when one object is updated i.e. Custom Object can't be updated automatically using Workflow when Contact Object is updated. You need to use Web Services to do this. All you have to do is define some Integration Events on the Parent object (which triggers the Update) and then based on the Integration EVent, update the Child Object (which needs to be updated).

"Object Picker cannot open because no locations from which to choose objects can be found"

When I try in AD management console in the domain controller to add a new group for a user I get the following error:
"Object Picker cannot open because no locations from which to choose objects can be found" error message when you try to select objects from an Active Directory domain in Windows 2000
Our domain controller is a W2000 cluster (two W2000 advanced server machines) and this happens in one of the nodes of the controller while in the other node it Works well (the difference between them is where it fails, has the resources: print,
file sharing and quorum services). Both nodes of the controller have the remote registry service disabled and in the node where it fails when you start this service it works well but I don`t think this is the reason because in the other node with remote registry
service disabled it works. Solutions from the following support articles don`t work:

I have checked that the situation is independent of the domain administrator who tries to add the group to the user.
Can anybody help me? Which is the reason of this different behaviour from one cluster node to another ?

Thanks for your answer but I think this is not the case because the problem is not with NTFS and we don' have these problems:
Users or groups that have Full Control access cannot delegate permissions.
Users who have Full Control access cannot make permission changes on a DFS share.
If you give the non-privileged user the right to log on locally and you log on locally to the file server where the error message occurs, you can successfully edit the ACL.
It only happens with the AD management console. Now, for us it is not posible to upgrade the system.

- Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck

you can use select from tab where tname like '%ACCOUNTS%'*

Copying goals/objectives from one appraisal documnt to other.(Not working)

I have a requirement in which all the "Goals/Objectives" from the previous years appraisal documents are to be copied to the newly created appraisal documents for the current year.
I take the details of the previous years appraisal document using "HRHAP_DOCUMENT_GET_DETAIL" .
I use the exact data of the previous years document making only minor changes (document header dates) and then create a new appraisal document using FM "HRHAP_DOCUMENT_SAVE".
The error is that the Goals/Objectives do not get copied completely....
eg. The previous years document has 3 goals
"xxx
yyy
zzz"
The newly created will have 3 goals but the texts of the goals will not get copied and will display the default text. eg:
"New Goal
New Goal
New Goal"
Using Other FM's like HRHAP_DOCUMENT_CREATE or HRHAP_DOC_UPDATE_BODY_AND_SAVE also give the same results.
The problem might be because I am directly using "body_elements" from the previous document in the new document w/o any edits.

Accessing stage objects from other objects

I have drawn colored rods which I have placed in the library and have put one of each on the stage with instance names like
blueRod_mc, etc.
I place them around with time-line code like
blueRod_mc.x = 300.0;
I have now created an Actionscript class called Problem.
I build a new object from Problem which I have called Riddle.
But when I put blueRod_mc.x = 300.0 in a method (of Problem),
I get the message that blueRod is not accessible.
So I tried
stage.blueRod_mc.x = 300.0;
That did not work either.
What does work? How can I modify properties of stage objects like blueRod from
within an AC3 object like Riddle?

Determining which method to call from an array of Objects

Hi All,
Lets suppose I have an interface, a string method name, and an array of Objects indicating the parameters which should be passed to the method.
What Im trying to work out is a way to quickly determine which method should be invoked.
I can see that Class has getDeclaredMethod(String, Class[]), but that wont help me as I dont know the formal class types (the method may take X, but I might get passed Y which extends X in the array of objects).
Does anyone know of a quick way I can determine this?
All I can think of at the moment is going thru each method of the class one by one, and seeing if the arg is assignable, then, after getting all my matched methods, determining if there are any more 'specific' matches.
Any ideas?

What I have is a MockObjectValidator which allows mock objects to be configuered with expected calls, exceptions to throw etc etc.
I thought developers on my project would get tired using an interface like this:
myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Class[] { typeA, typeB }, new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
I.e, I wanted to cut out having to pass the class array, so they could just use:
myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
The problem there is that I then need to pick the best Method from the class given the object arguments.
When the mock object is in use, its no problem as the InvocationHandler interface provides the Method. The problem I have is selecting what method a user is talking about from an array of Objects.
Ive written a simple one now, it just does primitive type class -> wrapper substitution, and then finds ** A ** match. If there is more than one match (ie, all params are assignable to a class' method params), I dont let that method be used.
Shortly I'll update it to actually make the correct selection in those cases.

Use the metadata repository availbel in RSA1 ..there find ur infobject in the infoobject list and u will find out what queries use that infoobject.

I have one scenario like i have to call one Workflow object from ABAP program in SE38.The scenario is like below.....
I have to select some records from database table.For example there are 100 records in the internal table.
For all that records i have to invoke Workflow for getting approval from the authorized persons. Once Approval has come to program, It will post one document in SAP and process ends.
Please suggest me how to move forward with this scenario.

So you want to start a workflow from an ABAP, if an event exists for that particular workflow then the best way is to use fm SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT,
to start a workflow from an ABAP you can use fm SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW.

"Create Simple document" from other objects

Scenario: Creating a document using option "Create Simple document" from other objects
I have created a document type and defined the object link for Functional Location with option "create simple document"
When clicking on create icon on the additional data tab on IL02 screen, The system asks for the document type and then the file to be uploaded.
The document type that i have defined has the Description filed as mandatory field and hence i am not able to create the document.
However, for the Document type when i set the description field as not mandatory the system creates DIR. But this DIR has no description.
Please let me know if there is a BADI, using which i could set the Functional location name as the description OR if there is some enhancement by which the user is asked to enter the description when creating the document.

After my tests I would like to inform you that this is
the standard system behavior as the document description field is
maintained as mandatory in transaction DC10. Please note that for the
simple creation of documents this should not be set as a mandatory
field.
The creation mode can be defined in transaction DC10 for each object
under 'Define object links'.
Please note that the value "1" for the creation of documents is used
to enable a user to simple attache a word file to an object
without going to the transaction CV01n. Therefore the system behaviour
is different then creating a document by CV01n and attaching a
file to it. With simple creation mode there should not be any
mandatory fields as the user cannot enter anything during the creation
process.
However, you can change the behaviour how the document is created by
MM02 transaction if you change the customizing in transaction DC10
like this:
If you maintain the value "2" for creation of documents, the user is
put to transaction CV01n and then the description can be entered. So
maybe this would solve the issue.
Regarding a useful BADI I can only recommned you to test BADI DOCUMENT_OBJ1,
DOCUMENT_OBJ2 or DOCUMENT_MAIN01 for fill the description field.
I hope this information could be useful for you and help to avoid the
mentioned error message.
