Workitem going to WF-ADMIN

hi,
I am working on a support project. On many occasions workflow goes to WF-ADMIN. Functionally when i check evrything will be alright. Then i need to debug and find out the reason. Is there any way by which i can find out why the workflow is goin to WF-ADMIN other thn debugging the BADI Z_APPROVAL_SRM->GET REMAINING APPROVERS

Hi,
the workitem goes to WF-ADMIN when there is no one assigned to perticular woritem.So 1st check graphical log to see where workitem is.Then go for rule resolution using container values of workflow log.If you find no agent then check the rule from where it's getting agent.Then see the whether that agent has been maintened or not.

Rule with SELFITEM-SENDTASKDESCRITION task's workitem goes error

Dear all,
           I have created a workflow with an activity step that uses business object SELFITEM and method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION with rule AC00000168.
          On executing the WF, the workitem successfully goes to right agent.
          But, when the agent executes the workitem, it goes to error state.
          In the workflow log, I get the error message as "Exception occurred Error handling for work item 000000968991 eeom division 09.07.2010 - 11:28:52 " with exception 0,error type 1 and message 0.
          Following is binding details between workflow and task container.

Workitem goes to different sub-box

Hi,
After executing transaction IW51 and click on save button the mail has been send to the sap user's inbox.
Now the mail is going to the sub-box 'Aprovar Job Sheet Port Bills' but user wants the mail should go to the sub-box 'Approve Crew Terminal/ Agency Job Sheet'.
Can anyone tell me how to change the workitem sub-box.

Extreme is going back, new admin utility is flawed

This is long, but bottom line is my advice is to wait until Apple gets things ironed out unless you have a system without multiple devices.
- Multiple USB drives hooked to a PC running iTunes with a wireless G card
- A macbook
- One Airport Express serving as a router and a USB print server
- 3 other AEs that I stream audio to from the PC or the macbook to 3 different stereos
- A PC laptop I sometimes use with iTunes
- A Palm that I use to control iTunes with a VPN
- A network printer that my PCs talked to via Ethernet and the macbook wirelessly through the express router via the USB port.
Everything shares the internet through the Express router and can stream to the other Expresses.
The macbook is used by my wife and shares the iTunes library hooked to the PC. I wanted the new extreme because I could hook the hard drives to it so she wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of sharing my library and I wouldn’t have to leave the PC running when I travel. She’s not very computer savvy. I thought the wireless N would be good for future updates.
The extreme comes with a new admin utility you have to use. I configured it and it looked to work but couldn’t see any of the expresses. I reset an express and configured it and iTunes could see the express and it would stream music to it but now the admin couldn’t see either the extreme or the express. It could configure another express after I reset it but iTunes couldn’t use it because the admin utility couldn’t see the IP address of the router and assigned a bad address to the express. I could manually assign an IP address and iTunes could see it.
After a few hours on the phone with Apple (they first tried to tell me I didn’t qualify for support because my extreme wasn’t in their system even though I bought it direct, so I had to bully them to help me) it worked, sort of.
Each time I configured an express or changed a setting on the extreme it would screw up the security settings for the extreme so my computers couldn’t see it even though the green light was on. Every time I changed anything and updated I had to delete all keychain settings and reset the passwords. Then
-I kept getting dropouts with iTunes when I never had them with before
-nothing could print,
-the extreme wouldn’t let the Palm join the network
I went back to my original setup using an express as a router, but now it couldn’t see the other expresses and when I tried to reset them even the old admin kept giving them invalid IP addresses. It didn't even work if I assigned the IP address manually. I reloaded the old software that came with the AE and reconfigured and now everything works.
What a disaster. I will be returning the Extreme ASAP.

I bought a new Airport Extreme n and have been unable to set up an Airport Express to extend the network.
Streaming with AirTunes is no problem, but extending the network has been exasperating and impossible.
I exchanged the Airport Extreme n for a new one, factory re-set everything countless times and no luck.
I think that some of the advice for this problem in these forums is coming from people who have not got the hardware concerned and so they are making assumptions based on Apple's reputation.
For example, some are referring to Apple documents which relate to legacy Extreme products and not the n.
I have trawled through every post and Apple document and manual without success.
My own conclusion is that the new AirPort Utility programme does not work properly and/or there is a generic fault in Extreme n's.
A clue here is that Apple's latest documentation says to set up the extended network manually, so that says a lot for their auto set up wizard!
If anyone out there has successfully got an Express to extend their Extreme n network then please tell me how you did it.
Meanwhile I think Apple should suspend their series of Microsoft batering advertisements until their hard/software works.
I stand ready to be corrected and will be delighted to hear if anyone has been luckier than me.
I hope this thread is not marked closed before it finds an answer.

Manage Server Health Goes Blank in Admin Console

Hello Team,
I am continously facing issue with OSB manage server. It is running fine but health is blank in Admin Console.
Due to which it is not responding to any user request.
Kindly guide me to troubleshoot this issue.

It is due to the problem with the JMX communication between and Admin and your OSB managed servers. Did you observed any messages related to it?
Is it a SSL communication, then try to make sure that certificates are valid.
As a general practice, make sure you have listen address configured for your servers. If left it blank(default), then it would be listening on the all the available host and communication would get messy in these situations.
If still facing problem, i would suggest you enable the below debugs and raise a support case
1. Apply the below three debug logs from console(for admin as well as Managed Server)
   weblogic->management->JMXCore
   weblogic->management->JMXDomain
   weblogic->management->JMXRuntime
2. Restart all the servers
If the issue, occurs, provide the debug along with the thread dump(take 5 thread dump at an interval of 5seconds) for the Managed Server(which is unknown state) and for the admin server.

LOV Timing Out / Not working in Admin edition

We are using Discoverer 10.1.2.45.46c and version of Desktop, Plus and Viewer. Just running in regular mode, NOT apps mode.
We have a situation where the LOV's are no longer working. It gives an message saying 'There are no values for abcded' where abcded is the field name.
This just started to happen a couple of weeks ago. When I go into the admin edition to check the LOV item class it usually says that it will take a long time to run and then returns nothing or it says 'The folder for this item class is either not accessible or is invalid'. Item classes were set-up when business areas were created so nothing fancy.
If I go into a column and create a new item class using the field, it works and gives me a list of values and then quits working in the admin and user editions shortly there after.
Any suggestions ? I am running out of ideas !

Well basically you gave the answer yourself...
you said that when going to the admin you get "The folder for this item class is either not accessible or is invalid"
so you need to go and check the validation of the folder that the item class is based on.
you can use the "vlidate"->"folder" from the toolbar to visually see the the invalid folders you got.
Also i would suggest you to create a new item class and base it on a new object so that the LOV will be retrieved quickly to avoid the timeout.
up to here this handled the "Invalide", now lets go to the "not accessible" part.
If it is valid and working good then the other thing possible is security matter, you need to verify that the user you use to run the report with the LOV have the access to the folder that the item class is based on.
this user need the access rights to the BA, this can be defined in the administrator security definitions ("tools->security")
last thing to check is that the user has the grant select on the DB object.

Workitem is not opening in UWL configuraton

Hi,
In my project UWL configuraton has been done newly..
When my workflow is getting triggered an workitem is generated for user decision task(General) and its coming to sap inbox and working fine for approval/reject.
But when the same workitem goes to UWL..its appearing there but when users click on the workitem its not opening...just rendering and wait ... I am unable to understand why the WI is not opening in UWL only while its working fine in sap inbox.
Can anybody what is the reason for that...is it for portal issue? or ADS connection issue or workflow Task issue?
Any help will be appriciable...

Cancel and keep workitem in ready state in user decision step

Hi,
In a user decision step,there is a default option 'Cancel and keep the work item'.
Now clicking on this option, the workitem goes into "Inprogress state"
whereas i want to keep the workitem in "ready state" after i click on the option 'Cancel and keep the work item'.
I am trying to modify the Process method of Decision Object type to incorporate this funcationality by using FM "SAP_WAPI_PUT_BACK_WORKITEM.
but im getting the error that this FM cannot be used at runtime.
Place where im trying to call this FM:
After the FM'SWU_PROCESS_MANUEL_DECISION'
I am getting the value of RESULT.
If result is SPACE or sy-subrc is not 00 then i am calling this Fm which takes Wi_id of the userdecision as input.

Let me ask you this. Why you need to have this in "Ready" state, Not in "IN PROCESS" state. Anyway, the witem is still there in the user's inbox, and if you have any deadline monitoring, then this is also taken care with "Cancel and keep xxxx". So, i think, functionally you'll still be better with the existing functionality.
And, with all this, if you are still trying to change, then i think it's NOT possible. If i understand correctly, you are trying to use the FM "SAP_WAPI_PUT_BACK_WORKITEM" within the PROCESS method. And, if you understood the functionality of how this works, you are trying to set the status of the SAME witem for which you are executing the PROCESS method.
THe way i understand the behind-the-scenes process, once you make a decision and save, this method is the one which in turn sets the witem status. And within that, you CANNOT capture the status as it is yet to be posted to the Witem tables.
Probably, after this decision step, use a different background task with the above FM to set the witem status to "Ready", BUT NOT IN THE SAME METHOD of PROCESS.
Also, it's not advisable to change this std. method.

May I kindly ask you advice about the next situation?
     We have set up a WF process with 3 levels based on the SC amount.
     Requesters are able to change approvers determined by the system according to a custom criteria.
     The conflictive case goes as it follows:
o     Requester creates a SC. Three levels of approval are determined.
o     Requester changes approver level 1determined for another approver of the same level.
o     Requester changes approver level 2 determined for another approver of the same level.
o     SC is ordered.
o     Workitem goes into the approver level 1 inbox. Approver level 1 completes workitem.
o     Workitem goes into the approver level 2 inbox.
o     Approver level 2 is out of office for a long period, therefore requester enters into the SC and changes the approver level 2 for another one with the same level.
o     Work item is not going into the new approver level 2 inbox. Woritem only goes into the new approver inbox once the original one has completed the workitem.
Is this standard behavior?

There is a slight difference here.
WF is not being restarted. As I mentioned in the initial exposure, work item is not moving to the approver level 2 changed until the original approver level 2 has approved the work item( not the approver level 1).

Workshop 9.2 on XP changed default admin pwrd now unable to start server

I have installed Weblogic Platform 9.2 that contains Workshop and Weblogic 9.2 on my Windows XP workstation. Everything was working fine until I thought I should change the default Admin username/password which was weblogic/weblogic. I did this by going under the Admin Console and going under the Security Realms and changing the password. But now when I enter workshop and try and start the server it tells me I need to look at the startup script. When I look at the scripts the passwords are encrypted. I have searched on line and found a some information about running some java scripts such as "java weblogic.WLST" or "java weblogic.security.Encrypt" of coarse these don't work and I am not sure if it is because my classpath is incorrect or I have to download some eclipse utilities first. If I had know that changing the default password was going to be such a pain I would of just left it, I have actually set it back to the default but even thought I have set it back to the default I still can not start the server under Workshop. I don't know how to fix this other that just uninstalling and reinstalling

I think you need to change the password that is stored in your domain (in fileRealm.properties file) as well to start the server. Weblogic's FileRealm ("weblogic.security.acl.internal.FileRealm") utility class can be used to do the same.

Simple create one more method / attribute and get the agent . Replace this wf_initiator with this agent. Remember to concatenate 'US'.

Host Central Admin from different server

Hi,
I have central admin on one of my application servers. it is working fine. Now, the server which hosts Central Admin will be shut down as a part of DR testing. Once this goes down, Central Admin will not be accessible. Is there any way to make it available
even when the server is down?

HI Sunny,when you run the ps config wizard on the other server that you want to make CA server.in the advanced settings ,check the box to use that servers to host the web site,once PSconfig runs successful it also acts as CA server.

Workitem forwarding issue

Some of the end user in PRD is unable to forward his pending leave request (WI) to their manager, instead of workitem going
to their manager's inbox it goes to their own inbox. When I checked in the workflow log the error message shows "User ABCD is not a dialog user: Not possible to forward". But user ABCD ( To whom it has to be forwarded) is a dialog user (checked in SU01d). User is forwarding the workitem through a custom service that uses FM :SAP_WAPI_FORWARD_WORKITEM. But when we ( support team) forward the workitem by using same FM, we are able to forward it.
It seems the issue is related to missing authorization but unable to find out what authorization is missing. No result in

SAP_WAPI_FORWARD_WORKITEM is RFC Funtion module.
Henace they are facing issue in forwarding.
But at the same time..if you are trying to forward..its like a normal FM.
so please check the RFC destination...

Airport Admin Utility/Snow ABS

Hi Folks,
I've read about others having similar problems, but no resolution for me as yet.
I purchased what I think is a "Snow" model ABS at a garage sale for $5. It's now connected to my DSL modem and Powermac at home, and everything works fine... the Powermac and my Powerbook both see the network just fine.
The trouble is, the network has been password protected. So, the only way I can access the internet is during the 5 minute period after I perform a hard reset on the base station.
I know I need to reconfigure the base station, which should be no problem. Trouble is, the base station is not recognized by the Airport Admin Utility. No base station is recognized, even when I re-scan.
This occurs both when I have the ABS connected via ethernet to either my Power Mac or Powerbook.
Any ideas?

Somtimes the Base Stations can be "undiscoverable" meaning then they have a setting in them making them only accessable by typing in their IP address, or name.
Try going into airport admin utility hit "other" (next to rescan) and in the box that comes up type in 10.0.1.1 for the IP address Now see if it finds it. Note also if it was protected by a password you will need to enter the Base Station password.

New Hardrive now can't get past admin window

Mid 2009 MacBook Pro that I bought from a friend. Last week the hard drive died so had new one installed by Apple Authorized repairer. Started up, backed up from time machine but cant get past admin window. Password is not what it use to be. Added new admin account through command s restart now after entering password window loads and goes back to admin password window. Anyone know what the next step should be?

If you are typing it in all lower case with no quotes, spaces or other extra characters, you can reset to factory defaults by pressing and holding the reset key for 30 sec. You will lose your configuration when you do that.
