WorkItem to WF Administrator if Rule returns Error

Hi,
I have a workflow and it is using a custom rule. My requirement is that, if the rule doesn't return any agent, the workitem has to go to the workflow administrator.
I searched the forum and as per one thread, I did the following steps:
1. In Basic Data of the workflow, I gave WF_Initiator as the agent in Version Dependent Data
2. In my custom rule, I checked the option, Terminate If Rule Resolution Without Result
3. In my FM used in the rule, I throwed one exception nobody_found, if no agent is returned.
Now the issue is that, If the agent is not determined, the workflow goes to an error state and the workitem which should have been created is not created. I unchecked the option in rule to teminate the workflow if no agent is found and tested the workflow. Then, the workitem goes to all users available in the system.
Please guide me sending the workitem to the workflow administrator if no agent is determined from the rule.

I think you should uncheck the Terminate If Rule Resolution Without Result and you should maintain the agent s the Workflow administrator if there is not agent retrieved in the rule.
Otherwise you can just check Terminate If Rule Resolution Without Result and maintain the  Workflow administrator in the workflow level from the Basic data->Version dependent tab. In this way a message will be sent if the workflow goes into error the wflow administrator.

    The whole process works fine before the assign statement. Once the BPEL engine reaches it, it displays an error message saying:
    Error in te expression <from> on line 62. The result returned for the XPATH expression is empty.
    "bpws:getVariableData('ws_GetManager_Out','parameters','/nsxml0:getManagerResponse/nsxml0:getManagerReturn/nsxml1:firstname')".
    Make sure that this result is not empty.
    The Xpath expression was created the generator shipped with Oracle BPEL Designer.
    What am I doing wrong here?

    But this is not the real problem. I think your namespace nsxml1 for firstname does not match the namespace of the xmlns="http://service"

    For crying out loud! Don't you have any shame!
    There are situations where you may have to run DBCC CHECKDB with the option REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS, but it is not the first thing you shold try if the database seems to be corrupt. Particularly, you should first make sure that you work on a copy of the database
    files. REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS means that DBCC CHECKDB has carte blanche to throw all pages it can piece together - which could be about all data pages if it is that bad.
    Corruption siuations are very difficult to assist with in forums, because there can be a lot of stake. The only advice I can give is to restore the database from a clean backup. If you don't have a clean backup, you have a problem. The database may still
    be saved, but you need an expert on site to help you, if you have never worked with this before. Advice given in this forum applied haphazardly can result in more damage that you already have.
    But, oh, one thing: this type of corruption are always due to hardware errors like bad disks or bad memory sticks. So just restoring the database is not enough. Finding new hardware is important too.

    Actually on the same disk there are other Databases Stored and they work Properly and Backup also can be taken for that Databases. But, for this particular database only this error is happening when iam trying to take backup. But data retrieval and access to
    front end application happening as usual.  Please help on this.

    Thanks. Where could I possibly look for a firewall rule. I knowingly did not creat any. My system has internet coming to a Modem which then is connected to a wireless router. I have computers connecting to the router through cable as well as wireless. One of these computers has been our  mailserver using Mercury and Pegasus and that computer has a static IP address. The Mac Mini also has been assigned a different srtatic IP address. I have only set up user account, none of them an email account as I initially expect them to receive only internal mails. Is it necessary that I must set up an email id for each user while setting up the user account. My server id is server.local. So would the email id for local users be [email protected]?

  • OTL timecard deposit returns error

    Hi,
    I am using the HXC_TIMESTORE_DEPOSIT.EXECUTE_DEPOSIT_PROCESS api to deposit the Timecards, But it is returning errors like
    Error Message : HXT_39294_ERN_RUL_NF
    Upto Attribute creation it is working fine, but the Deposit was erroring out and whole process was completing in Success at last. But no back end tables are getting reflected.
    I tried to print the Timecard ID, it is returning -2 .
    Can somebody help me out in this .

    I have set OTLR Rules evaluation prefrence to YES.
    I have also defined Element Time information.
    I can see the elements in element entry screen.
    But my timecard still says element link not found. Am I missing something?

    As the files are intact and existed in old server where as in production i didnot find andy files except only three files exited in POS_TOP i.e log mesg out

    Please suggest should i copy the files form old server/backup to POS_TOP

    My problem has been solved. During inserting into RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE, I haven't inserted the VALIDATION_FLAG column. After inserting the column the base tables are populated.

    ODBC functions SQLExecDirectW and SQLExecute functions return error:”DIAG [22001] [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]String data, right
    truncation (0) “. When we enable tracing in the ODBC administrator, in the SQL.log we see that values for the arguments: ColumnSize, BufferLength, and StrLen_or_IndPtr of ODBC function SQLBindParameter are not being displayed.
    Environment Used:
    OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition.
    Complier: Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for x64.
    Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2008
    MDAC: Microsoft Data Access Components SDK 2.8
    Note: This problem is seen only in our 64bit application. However, in 32bit
    SQLExecDirectW and SQLExecute functions return successfully.
    As we could not find the values of 6<sup>th</sup>, 9<sup>th</sup> and 10<sup>th</sup> arguments(ColumnSize,
    BufferLength, and StrLen_or_IndPtr) passed to
    SQLBindParameter in the ODBC traces for 64bit, we are not sure whether the values for the above mentioned arguments are received correctly by SQLBindParameter or not. This information would help us to debug further. So, could you please let us know why
    these values are not displayed.

    Hi Nalsr,
    From my research, I found:
    "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String
    data right truncation" error may be returned from a call to
    SQLBindParameter if the size of the string parameter being used is greater than the size of the column being compared to. In other words if the
    string size of the <expression> to the left of the <comparison_operator> is less than the
    string size of the <expression> to the
    right, ODBC may return this error.
    The resolution is to make the string size of the <expression> to the
    right of the <comparison_operator> less than or equal to the
    string size of the <expression> on the left.
    It is difficult to track down this type of problem when third party development applications are being used. ODBC Trace can be used to help determine if this problem is occuring.
    Here is an example where the customer has submitted a query "select count(*) from type1 where type1 = ?", type1 is varchar(5) and the
    data type being passed by the application is char[9].
    Here is the relevant portion of the trace. The following information from the "exit" of SQLDescribeParam

    Hello Eran,
    This error could be caused by having insufficient privileges to the IVI directory on your system and can be resolved by logging in as the administrator or having access to of all National Instruments files.
    If this is your case, the following KnowledgeBase 3JL6JQSF explains how to solve your problem. If that doesn't work, this Discussion Forum post describes the same error and has some suggestions on how to fix the problem.
    If this doesn’t help, here are some questions/suggestions:
    1) Are you running an example program?, If so, which one?
    2) The necessary drivers for your board are: NI-DAQ, NI-VISA, IVI-Engine, and NI-SCOPE. What version of those drivers do you have? If you are missing any of them, you can download the latest versions under NI Drivers and Updates.
    3) Are you log onto your computer as the administrator?
    4) Try running a simple example called "niScope EX Getting Started.vi" located in LabVIEW under Help>>Find Examples and then browsing to Hardware Input and Output>>Modular Instruments>>NI-SCOPE>>General. Does the same error occur at niScope Initialize?

  • Returning Errors from a webservice using XMLBeans

    I have a webservice that accepts XML as input and output parameters, and I'm using XMLBeans to handle this. I'm trying to work out how I can return error information from the webservice, so I created an Exception.xsd schema and 'include' it in the output XML Schema, so an exception xml element is valid in the output schema. The problem is, the XMLBean class generated from the output XML schema has no methods that allow me to create an Exception element. Is there some other way of handling the return of exceptions from webservices using XML?

    The answer is just throw a SoapFaultException and put the exception.xsd XMLBean in the FaultDetail section of the SoapFaultException.

  • Bug Report - DB toolkit returns error when calling the DefaultDatabase property with SQLite

    There's an old bug in the DB toolkit where calling the DefaultDatabase property returns error -2147217887 if you're using certain DBs (such as SQLite or PostgreSQL and I believe MySQL as well).
    The problem is that this property is called by a VI which is used in some of the commonly used VIs (such as the insert VI),
    causing them to fail. Whoever wrote the code was aware of this issue,
    since they added a comment about it, as you can see below.
    The immediate fix for this is pretty easy -  add code to ignore the error or don't call the property at all. It's not used anywhere in the toolkit and unless you're using the VI yourself to get the property, this won't break any code. The problem with this is that you need to do this in every PC.
    NI already has a CAR for this (CAR 232063) and should hopefully fix it, so there's no need to take further action at the moment. This post is for people searching for this in the future.

    After upgrading to Lion the bookmarks in Preview returns error message : The File "****" couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. To change the perimssion, select the item in finder and Choose File info.  I have bookmarked plenty of files in Preview.  How to overcome this error message???

    Doesn't work Steve. I think it is an issue with Preview being sandboxed (check the sandbox column in Activity Monitor: Preview = Yes). Sandboxed apps restrict file access to those the user has explicitly selected. My theory is that this causes the unfortunate side effect of bookmarked or linked PDFs not working. A simple test: open a file with bookmarks, manually open the bookmarked file and then select the bookmark in the first file - it should open with no complaints about permissions (which leads to a weak workaround: open all the PDFs you intend to work with!).

    Hi madhu,
    I have value for Month field as 0. I have used MonthName function in the report. So im getting error as #Error
    Expression:
    MONTHNAME(Fields!Month.Value)& " "& Fields!Day.Value &" "&  Fields!Year.Value
    Please help me to resolve the issue.
