Would I have to pay for a new battery??

So my AppleCare ended technically in June for my MacBook, but I got a new battery in June as mine wasn't working properly, so my AppleCare was extended until August. But just now, like 20 minutes ago my battery is saying it needs service.
Would I still have to pay for this considering this battery is LESS than 6 months old (about 4 months old)??

If your warranty expired in August with respect to the new battery, then you should have to pay for a replacement. However, it's up to AppleCare so you need to call them. We can't give you an answer to the question.

I think it's a slam dunk that you would receive more for these phones than the $199 starter price for a new IP5 S.
Not a slam dun at all..
You may get about $200 for both..
Sounds like a slam dunk to me.  While I think a person would get MORE than $200 for both phones, the new phone starts at $199 (16gb).  Now if  you're talking about buying the new phone outright, that's a different story and I would agree that you're right.

  • I refurbished my macbook air 7 months ago because there was a problem with the steady state drive. Now my battery seems to be dead again. How long does the warranty last? Do I need to pay for a new battery?

As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case)  then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc.  It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.
    good luck

  • Do I have to pay for a new iPhone if I have apple care?

Okay, so I have multiple things wrong with my iPhone 5:
    1. The battery runs out quick.
    2. The screen is constantly uncalibrated and doesn't receive the touch of my finger 70% of the time.
    3. My lock button doesn't work and my home button is close to falling off.
    4. It can be slow.
If I have apple care, how much would I pay for a new replacement iPhone 5?

  • If I bought a Macbook within the past month and the RAM starts to malfunction do I have to pay for a new RAM or is it covered by my 1 Year Warranty?

I bought a Macbook Pro a month ago and all of a sudden my computer has been malfunctioning. I went to the apple store and they said that my RAM is not working correctly and now I have to pay $200 for a new one. Do I have to pay for it or should my 1 Year Warranty cover the cost?

I agree with you that Apple should cover it, and that if they're initially unwilling to, then a complaint should be raised.  However, the poster remarked that he went to an Apple store, Apple diagnosed the problem as being faulty RAM, and then the poster said that he has to pay $200 for "a new one" (new RAM, I presume).  No matter what you or I say on here, if the representative that the poster spoke to brought up a $200 charge, then what is he going to do?  "Some users on the internet told me it should be free, so I'm not going to pay that - just fix it for free"?
Or maybe I'm having trouble following what happened.  It seems to me that if the poster went to an Apple store and had a system that was within warranty, if Apple found a problem, they would replace it for free.  In that case, where did the poster get the number for the $200 charge, and why is it even necessary to ask if it's covered?  Either he encountered an Apple Genius who didn't handle the case properly, or there's more to the story that he's not revealing (water damage, or so on).

  • If i get the mbp now do i have to pay for the new os lion

if i get the mbp before the new os comes out, will i have to pay for it later???

Yes, but remember, OS X Lion is new, it's going to have bugs, problems, drivers won't work and all kinds of other **** because Apple has integrated the MacAppStore deeply into the OS.
Best to wait 6-8 months until the dust settles.
Snow Leopard is stable and works, everything works reliably.
Lion will be $30 or so, chump change for 8-9 months of less headaches.
But you better hurry and get a Mac fast, or else it comes with Lion by default.

  • If my ipod touch 5th generation charger doesn't work anymore and i go back to apple, will they give me a new free charger or will i have to pay for a new one?

If this is an Apple charger less than a year old, Apple will replace it under warranty.

  • IPad OS update error killed my iPad - Why do I have to pay for a new iPad?

I have always been a happy iOS user, and my iPad serves me quite well for the last year or so.
Lately, upgrading iTunes and iPad to the latest version caused me a lot of hassles and time - that after the iTunes update, I can no loner sync my iPad with iTunes, and lately, the iPad went into a recovery mode loop that I can't get out.
the result is i don't have an iPad any more.
I live in Hong Kong and I took the iPad to an authorized care center, they are happy to exchange for a new one, but only if it is still within warranty.  I am just 1 month out (bought in August 2010) and as a result, I have to pay HKD$4k+ to get a new iPad1 (64G 3G, was HKD$6488).
I clearly haven't violated any warranty, ie, no jail breaking, etc, and if the update process messed up the iPad, I honesty don't think as a consumer I should need to pay so much, and no one will try to fix this, as I think this is a software rather than a hardware issue.

Out of warranty is out of warranty. It doesn't matter that what happened would have been covered under warranty if you still had a warranty. You don't. It's sad for you but true.

Make sure you use the same Apple ID used for the original purchases.

  • Why did I have to pay for a new USB cable for my iphone when I didn't break it and it was only 6 months old?

The Apple store charged me for replacing the USB cable. It would work but if I move the cord it would connect, but then disconnect again. I got with my iPhone 5 6 months ago. It has a warranty and I had the Apple Plus Care that I paid extra for. It was in no way my fault that it broke.

If the Apple store refused replacement under warranty they clearly found
evidence of damage which would void the warranty

  • I was knocked off my bike and my ipod screen is now smashed, am i able to get it replaced or do i have to pay for a new screen? if so how much?

  • If I were to take Lion off of my 2008 Macbook Pro by reseting it to factory defaults, and if I were to want it back, would I have to pay for the OS again?

I've got an early 2008 Macbook Pro, which I believe initially came with Leopard. I put Lion on it last year, but now I need to partition my hard drive with Windows XP, and to my knowledge, there is no way to partition anything but Windows 7 when using BootCamp.
I don't love Lion, it's OK. I could sleep at night if I parted with it.
If I ever wanted it back, could I download it without having to buy it again since I've bought it once already?

No, because you bought Lion before. When you buy Lion, you can install it whenever you want in all your Macs

  • I have just updated my iPhone 4 with latest IOS 7 and now wi fi greyed out and Bluetooth not working. Tried reset, restore everything - no use. Its out of warranty too. I refuse to pay for a new phone when clearly this is an apple issue not phone issue.

Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. Don't want to pay as its an apple problem not phone problem. It worked ok before. Tried everything, even clearing it down. Can't even back it up now unless I connect to a pc!

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

  • The bottom part of the screen is like bright it looks all weird i cant see annything in that part my ipod still has the 1 year warranty do u guys think i can get it fix for free or would i have to pay?

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If you iPod is defective, within warranty and not abused, Apple will exchange it at no cost.
