WPC: Invalid LINKS in a Page

Dear all,
we works with WPC SP16.
We checks a Page with the link consistency check and we have invalid links. How can we delete this invalid links?

Hi, I'm not sure if this can solve your problem because I never worked
with WPC, but we're talking about KM so here it goes:
go to Content Management > Reports
There you can start a Link Consistency report.
This report checks the links in KM repositories and determines whether the link targets are valid resources. You can choose to have the report delete broken links as they are found.

Detail Navigation missing when i link a web page in the WPC Scenario

Hi to all.
I had publish WPC site with the External Connector method.
I have some Web Pages linked in the Navigation Structure, when i link one of this from a internal link (for example in a List link or other) I displayed the page and the detail navigation is visible and the focus on the destination page is light.
Well, when I try to link a Web Page that not is linked in the Navigation structure (open it in the same page) the Navigation structure is missing.
Why? How i can leave the NAvigation structure and display the page?

Hi,
this scenario is not supported by WPC. I think it was written somewhere (in a note or so). The problem is that if a page is not included in the navigation structure there is no navigation node associated. And so link to that page does not contain NavigationTarget therefore it does not trigger a real portal navigation but just displays the page in the iframe in which it has been fired. That means if you are using the standard framework page (i.e. with frames) page is shown in the inner most frame and the rest is untouched (side effect from which is that the TLN is not updated) and if you are using the light framework page after click the page is shown on the whole window as there are no iframes.
May be you would be able to work around this by selecting such page to be opened in pop up window. Other options exist but they are more complicated as solutions.

WPC - Dynamic List - Link to the page of an wpc_article

Dear all,
Im working with dynamic Lists to show a list view of my wpc_articles.
In the default settings the elements of the list have a link directly to an article. Therefor the property "contentLink" is used.
I wanna change this link to the page where an article is placed. So Im wondering:
Is there anyway to get the path of a page from the article instance e.g. a property like "parentString" or something like that?!

Guess i have to put everything I need in the article element so i do not need to show the page.
Another question occured to me while I was doing that:
When I navigate from a Dynamic List to an Element, it should be possible to navigate back and forth with the buttons I created using the history api.
Instead of the "<a href..." in the default dynamic list I created an onclick event. Right now im trying to navigate to the article with its guid and the method "EPCM.doNavigate(...)" but until know i haven't been able to get it done.
Is it even possible to reach that goal and in case it is am I on the right track or is there a better approach available?!

Authorization check for links on a page

We are trying to control whether links on a JSP page are displayed or hidden based on an authorization check.
We've already got the checks working on individual pages but not for the links within a page, because the security framework does not list links as their own Resource.
Is there a way to call the Authorization security provider ourselves, for each link on our JSPs? This call would be outside of the initial security check for the main JSP.

It's not going to be easy without DOM. Parsing HTML is a real pain, since there's all kinds of optional tags and quotation marks (pre-XHTML, that is). That makes any kind of ad-hoc parsing using regular expressions difficult, and less accurate than pulling the entire file into a DOM representation.
Why don't you want to use DOM? Are you just making up silly requirements?
EDIT:
I guess you could use an event-based HTML parser (HTML::Parser in Perl works this way. Is there a Java equivalent?) Set up an event for IMG and A start tags, and extract the href/src attributes there. Finding out if they are valid or not will require either:
1) Simply validate that the URL is well-formed by creating a URL object from it. This won't tell you if the link is active or not
2) Validate the URL by connecting to it with an URLConnection. However, the URL will be marked invalid if the server is down or the URL is otherwise unavailable.

WPC WebPageHeader Link Removal

I need to remove the Page Header link (such as Send Feedback,E-mail, Print and Add to Favorites) from the WebPage created using WPC.Please help me how to configure the plain WebPage without these link.

Multiple Buttons linking to Multiple pages from one movie

Hi All,
I have a flash movie with 3 buttons I am trying to link relativley to pages within my site, I have one working fine but can't get the others to link and when I try it makes the one that is working, work no more..
Below's the code I am using for the one that is working;

I only see code for one button there, so I can only guess you repeat the same function multiple times. You cannot use the same name for different functions, and you cannot have the same function duplicated. Similarly, you cannot declare the same variable more than once. You can have buttons share the same function though, and you can assign new values to variables.
For now, start by creating a unique function definition for each button.
For further consideration, if your buttons happen to be movieclips you can assign the url's to them as variables, or if you name your buttons using the page names they link to, then the same function could be shared with a little generic finagling.

How to add new links to a page

To add a new link on the left nav:
You can go to site settings> navigation> add a link under "current navigation".
For the second requirement:
You can create a "links" list and add it to that second page. This way you can have that "Add Links" option and add links.

When trying to open a link in the page I am on and open it in a new Tab the browser stops responding.

I open the browser and the Hime Page opens as expected. When I open a link to an item or article on the page in a new Tab Firefox stops responding and thye top line on the screen shows that to be the case. The only way to resolve the issue is to exit or close Firefox and start again. This has just started yesterday (Oct 12) as before that the process worked fine.
When I open a new Tab and then type in a new web site it will open and allow access with no problem, provided I have not open a link as outlined in the first paragraph. I can open several tabs in this manner and Firefox works as expected. But if I try to link from any page and open in a new Tab i get the "not responding" situation again.
After closing Firefox so I can restart it, the browser will open but the first screen will be a blank tab rather than my home page. I can open web sites and Firefox proceeds as expected as long as I do not try to open a link from within the page in a new Tab. I get the same "Not responding" situation.
If I immediately close Firefox after it opens without my homepage and then restart it then my home page will open as expected.
I have not made any changes to programs or setups in Firefox or on my computer in the immediate time before the problem started.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Problem: when I run this page, chart is displayed. Now if I click on the series value of chart, it opens page ( '?p=&APP_ID.:2:&APP_SESSION.::::P2_ORACLESID,P2_CAP_DATE:&P15_ORACLESID.,'||capture_date link) It opens page 2 in new window. I want it to open in same window. Am I missing something ? Is this possible ? Is there anything I can change to achive this functionality

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

I need to create a link on a page, while hiding it from the options

I am making a website for my work, which is a glass company. The options at the top to click on will be home, commercial, residential, and contact us. When you click on residential i would like to have links for windows, shower doors, ect. I want to be able to click on windows and it go to another page to show information about them, the same thing with shower doors, ect. but i don't want thoes titles to be at the top of the page. Is this possible.

What you're referring to is a drop down menu. Those can't be created normally in iWeb. They can be added to a iWeb page but require an HTML snippet and javascript. Some possible javascript solutions have been posted in this forum. Search for drop down menu. Also do a Google search for drop down menu to get a number of sites with possible solutions.
Or, you can create a separate Residential page and put photos of windows, shower doors, etc. on it and use them as links to the pages for the windows, shower doors. Those pages don't have to be included in the navbar. You can turn it off in the Inspector/Page/Page pane.

IPhone Safari doesn't open links in new page

Under iPhone Safari Settings, I've got it set to Open Links In New Page, but when I click on links in Safari, that doesn't happen. When I set it to Open Links In Background, that doesn't happen either. Links open in the same page no matter what the setting.
Anyone know how this can be fixed? Thanks.

It depends on the website. Some websites have it set up to take you to a new tab, some do it in the same tab.
