Write Files in Known Folders(PicturesLibrary,Music Library,ETC..) in Wp8.1?

Hi All,
Am Developing WP8.1 App.
I need to write few files in Pictures library,
I gave permission in Capabilities.
But still am getting access Denied Error.
If i try to write the same file in local folder i can write without any error.
Am Using Below code to create file.
file = await Windows.Storage.KnownFolders.PicturesLibrary.CreateFileAsync(fileName, Windows.Storage.CreationCollisionOption.ReplaceExisting);
Any suggestion would be of great help.
Thanks

  • Computer crashed -- ITunes files gone -- How to restore music library???

Computer has crashed, and my Itunes library was not backed up. Can the music files be transferred from the Ipod to the computer to recreate the library??

Ok, first of all, now is the time to develop a back-up strategy, because iPods and PC's do crash from time to time. You invest a lot of time and money into your music library, why not on a back up strategy? I recommend either investing in an External Hard drive. They frequently are on sale, especially this time of year with the holidays. Or, you could back up your library by switching the burning mode into Data CD and burn Data CD's or DVD's of your library. I would really recommend having your library backed up in a couple ways.
Ok, so there are freeware programs and rather cheap third party programs that will allow you to rip your iPod library onto your PC. Try YamiPod, CopyPod, iPod Transfer or one of the plethora of programs out there. YamiPod is free and quite good, from what I hear. Good Luck and back up your library often.

  • I just changed the OS from Vista to Windows7.  I have a folder on the same computer with the old iTunes library.  I installed a new version of iTunes from scratch.  How do I move my music library, etc from that backed up folder into the new iTunes folder.

I need help with moving my music library.
I recently upgraded the OS on my computer from Vista to Windows7.
During the process it copied my iTunes library to a folder on this same computer (marked it Windows.old)
Once the OS was done, I installed a new copy of iTunes on the Windows7 but it now has a blank library (folder)
How do I move my music from its current folder location (on this same computer) into the new iTunes library folder ???
There don't seem to be specific instructions on how to do this.

    Skydiver119 wrote:
My situation may be different from yours since all mu music is ripped from cd's not bought from iTunes, but I would think the premise is the same.
Doesn't matter what is in your library.
When I moved computers I literally dragged and dropped the music where I wanted it to be. THen when I opened iTunes I imported the files back into iTUnes
This creates a new library with all the same items but you lose a lot of info: Ratings, comments, date added, custom EQ, playlists, etc.
If you simply copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder, it is the exact same library, not a new library. No info is lost.

  • Associating music files with palylists and/or music library

My HD went out but luckily (I thought) I had a backup of my iTunes folder on an external drive. After installing the new hard drive and all the updates to TIGER 10.4.x I copied my original iTunes folder to new drive to the music folder.
I see all my files in my library and play lists, but they all have an "!" by them and when I choose a particular song, a message comes up saying that iTnes can NOT find the associated music file (even though the file is actual there in the iTUnes folder and on my HD). Short of manually associating every library/playlist song with the actual music file (more that 2,000 files), is there any automated process or method to associate all the music files with the library/playlist files?????

    Morris:
First, back up your iTunes Library file - just in case the original gets damaged, you will have a clean copy to restore to.
*From the File menu, select Export Library and save as an .xml file to your desktop.
*Go to iTunes Preferences>>Advanced, and make sure that you have DESELECTED Copy music to iTunes folder when adding to library and SELECTED Keep iTunes Music folder organized.
    *Close iTunes
*Now, go to the ~/Music/iTunes folder and remove the
    b iTunes Library
    file from this folder.
*Restart iTunes - your Source Menu and Library should be empty of everything except the standard preset playlists.
*From the File Menu, select "Add to Library" and navigate to the location of your music files.
*When the import process is finished, go to the File Menu, select Import and navigate to the Library.xml file you created in the first step.
Your links between songs should be reestablished and your metadata intact.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

  • My entire music purchase has vanished, bar one , from my new mac. I have searched via finder/music/library etc and it aint there. It still is on my phone and ipad though

All my purchased music has vanished from my new mac. it was there before, it still is on my phone etc?

    Hello Fin Hall,
Congratulations on your new Mac!  I am sure you definitely want your music available on it.  I found an article with steps to get your music back on your Mac:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
I would recommend following the steps under "Apps, Books, Music, Movies, or TV shows on a computer."  I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • Playlists empty, no iTunes Music Library file

Is it possible to recover songs from a playlist?
I was reading over some posts on the subject, which mention moving the iTunes Music Library file. I see the iTunes Library file, but not the iTunes Music library file.
    Thanks for any help!

I don't know exactly what you mean by recover songs from a playlist. What are you trying to do?
The two library file terms are the same, just differ with iTunes versions.

  • Add Logic files to music library

I am trying to add Logic .iso files to my iTunes library, to convert them to MP3. I was successful several months ago, but I am not sure how, and cannot repeat it. I have tried both “add to library” and “import”. I have the latest version of iTunes. I know that the advanced settings to convert to MP3 are correct. But when I choose the file, nothing appears in the music library, I have searched everywhere. Please help.

Use MPEG Streamclip to convert it to MPEG-4 and import that into iTunes. An AVI can contain audio and video of any format, and some formats can't be played or converted in Mac OS X.

  • I can't move music files to different folders in my itunes library

First, I have not created files in my itunes library for a while, and I could swear it was a lot easier years ago! ALL that I want to do is add the new music I've purchased or recently added to a folder that already exists in the playlist.
    1) All my recently added songs have been purchased through my iphone, I'd like to move them to a folder.
    2) When I connect my phone to my computer, I see the tab to click on my phone. I do, and it opens the content of Music in my iphone.
    3) In this content, there are folders to the left listed, beginning with Music, Movies, Purchased, Recently Added, Recently Played, "My Name" Favorites, another specific folder I labeled to seperate music, and then another Purchased folder.
    4) I WANT TO MOVE or copy my newly purchased music file to these folders so when I play them on my phone, I can SIMPLY choose the file that is asscoiated with my Favorites or other choice.
Why Is This So Difficult to do! Or is it that easy and I'm overlooking the past hour I've spent trying!
Second part of my aggravation, why can i NOT sort the files in a music folder by song name anymore?! We used to be able to click at the top of the listing, Name, Aritist, Albulm etc. to sort them alphabetically and make a search easier depending on , but now I can no longer do this.

This happened to me too but I only tried one song and then gave up. I thought it was a fairly popular song.

  • Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

The red exclamation mark indicates that itunes cannot find your files.
Are the music files still on your harddrive. Look n Finder
    Username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If the files are there then keep the option key pressed and open iTunes. A dialog box will open asking you to choose your library. Select Choose and then navigate to the Music/iTunes Folder and click OK

  • How do you add folders to the music library instead of just individual files in iTunes 10?

When I try to add folders to the library like I used to be able to, the only option that appears is 'Add files to library' - any tips?

You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
CTRL+B to turn on the menu bar (also opens temporarily with ALT).
CTRL+S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before).
CTRL+/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour.
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may allow iTunes to start up quicker).
The first one will give you access to File > Add Folder to Library.

  • ITunes Music Library and iTunes Music Folders Contain Different File

I recently lost all of the music off of my iPod because of a defective hard drive. I have now reloaded it all and bought an external hard drive to back-up my music (which music I either purchased from iTunes or copied from CDs I own). When I open iTunes Music Library all of my content is present and it is all on my iPod as well. When I look at iTunes Music Files on my C drive - not all of my content is present (for example, only 2 of 3 Billy Joel cds show up). Thus, when I attempt to back-up, I am not capturing everything that is in my iTunes Music Library. Is there a way to synch these, or is there a reason that they are not the same. Again, in the case of the Billy Joel example, all three discs were owned by me so presumably there is no source issue.
    Thanks

Assuming that you're using the external drive strictly for back-up purposes and keeping "working" copies of your music on the C drive, you can use the Advanced menu > Consolidate Library option to make sure that the entire contents of your Music Library is placed in the iTunes Music folder - default location C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes .

  • Is there a way to mass add m4a music folders to the library?

I have several thousand music folders containing m4a music. The files are in the iTunes music folder but are not in the library. iTunes can only add one folder at a time to the library, a time consuming, user hostile restriction. Is there a way to mass add all of the folders to the library using either iTunes or another program?

Will iTunes ignore the non-music folders and files?
Yes, it will only import the files it can import.
I've read posts about files disappearing seemingly caused by iTunes.)
It shouldn't but you do have an up-to-date back of all your files, correct?

  • ITunes library file ("iTunes Music Library.xml") being trashed and not read

My iTunes music library is being recognized as a .xml file and comes up looking like a Dreamweaver file. It no longer can be loaded in iTunes (grayed out) when loading the app. Can't find the Library.
So iTunes no longer recognizes it, nor does it see the backup on a different drive! I have no idea how it got recategorized. I also check in my Time Machine backup and all the similarly named files show up as the same way (with a Dreamweaver icon). This did occur after a restart of this machine. I see the same problem with a backup of the library on the same machine.
I have not yet opened a new library and tried to import all my music over again. Is that the only viable fix? I remember this problem (or a similar one, I think) happening a year or so back. I didn't know what it was at the time but it caused me a considerable amount of grief with subscribed music not getting reloaded, etc. Is this what I'm in for again???
How can I fix this? Here's what I did so far:
    1. Rebuilt Permissions. Here's the log.
    +Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”+
    +Permissions differ on "usr/share/derby", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .+
    +Repaired "usr/share/derby".+
    2. Checked time machine to see if the folders' icons are the same. They are.
    3. Tried to open up iTunes library manually (option+open iTunes). Grayed out.
    4. Older backed up libraries show the same icon. Only version 3 or version 4 labelled libraries do not. Version of iTunes is 9.0.2

iTunes does not use the .xml file. It is created only for other applications to use the iTunes library.
    Try this...
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select *Choose library* and select the iTunes library file in \Music\iTunes\ folder.
That's what I've said, Chris. The files that open when selecting the Choose Library are:
Yes they all exist. Also the following files exist:
    *iTunes 3 Music Library*
    *iTunes 4 Music Library*
    *iTunes Music Library (2)*
Is there a pref I can delete somewhere to get rid of these? Copying the files from TIme Machine doesn't fix this.

  • Incorrect music library file size after upgrading to itunes 7.1.1.5

I was running itunes 7.0.2 and I have a 40gb click wheel IPOD (3rd Generation?). In itunes 7.0.2 my music library stats showed 7046 songs stored on 34.6 gb of disk space. Once I upgraded to itunes 7.1.1.5 and restarted itunes, my music library stats now showed 7046 songs stored on 445 gb of disk space and I can no longer sync my 40 gb Ipod to itunes because itunes says I don't have enough space available on my ipod.
What caused this change in reporting disk usage for my music library - which by the way is not correct, it is really 34.6 gb of space (which I confirm when I look at disk manager and evaluate the drive with the music file on it.
How do I get itunes to report my disk space correctly so I can start syncing my ipod again. I already reset and restarted my ipod, rebooted my laptop multiple times and even did a restore on my ipod (which of course wiped out all my music on the ipod).

I've had this problem too and since solved it. I now have Vista and iTunes working perfectly with my 20Gb iPod colour. I'm not sure whether the lack of comments means everyone is flummoxed or if We're the only people in the world who's had this problem!
Well in the name of sharing here is what I did:
    1) Backed up my entire iTunes folder (inc album art work and all sub folders and iTunes ref files) to and external HD
    2) Deleted everything other than the album artwork folder and the iTunes music folder
    3) Uninstalled iTunes 7.2
    4) Cleaned the registry
    5) Restarted
    6) Downloaded and installed iTunes v7.3.0.54
    7) Opened new the install of iTunes
    8) Clicked File> Add folder to Library> iTunes Music
    9) Bingo my library is being sensible and reading the correct size AND my iPod syncs perfectly!
Not sure if the actual cure was the fact I cleaned out all the reference files and performed a reinstall or if it was actually a bug which apple fixed in version 7.3.0.54? Either way!
That's it. Simple. I hope this helps...

  • Just bought new PC with windows 8.1 and installed the 64bit tunes as instructed by the new PC. Only a small part of my music library is now showing but  can see all the files in the itunes folder on an eternal hard drive linked to my old XP pc.

Problem - changed PC to one with Windows 8.1 ( previous from 2006 with Windos XP). Previously all ITunes stuff on an external harddrive as 80 gigs of music too much for the old PC
When attached Harddrive to new PC was told needed to install the new 64 bit iTunes as 32 bit iTunes not compatable.
Did so but only a very small portion of my music is showning -  though rest of Library is still on the external drive in the folder.
    Help please
    Thanks

Again many thanks. I have tried to tidy up the folders as per your idiot guide- which term is appropriate for me
Under iTunes Media though I do not have  folders for Books,iPod Games, Mobile Applications, Movies, TV Shows so I only have  Auto Add to iTunes, Music, Downloads and Podcasts - My question here is is this OK.
Next - Library files that you mention are there but do not end .itdb
Next  - in the main iTunes folder followingon from Artwork and Media folders  there is some other  iTunes database stuff like Library Extras, Library Genius, Library and Music Library(xml) all dated 10/02/12 plus MimiPlayer .dll dated 21/02/14 and Set Up Short Cut dated22/03/14
AND there is also a Programme Files folder with a sub folder holding file folders called CD Configuration,iTunes Resources, iTunes Help Resources, iTunes Mini Player Resources and Mozilla Plugins all dated 24/03/14 ( when I downloaded the new iTunes) and then a lot of application extension stuff from 2011
To recap I unistalled the old 32 bit iTunes and installed the new 11.1.5 (64 bit) version over the weekend  SO is any of the old stuff listed above required.
Outcome right now is that as previously I can only call up the Downloaded music not Podcats or CD copies.
