Write to local CSV (or txt) file on iPad -- access via iTunes

I'm trying to figure out how to write to a local CSV (or TXT) text file on the iPad. I've got UIFileSharingEnabled working--iTunes sees the app as available for file sharing. However, via FileStreram, I can't find where to save the file to? I've tried all the options I know of;
* documentsDirectory
* applicationDirectory
* desktopDirectory
* userDirectory
* applicationStorageDirectory
...but the file doesn't show up in iTunes. Anyone have any suggestions? You game developers must have this figured out for 'high-score' and preferences.
Thanks

Hi, did you find any solution for this problem?

  • Syncing m4b files to iPad / iPhone via iTunes

    Wondering if anyone else ran into a problem syncing m4b files to their iPod/iPhone via iTunes.  I was able to import these into iTunes with no issues, but when I try to transfer them to my iPod or iPhone, they do not show up in the list.  Anyone knows why?  I thought, m4b is Apple format.  I was able to convert the files to mp3 and get them over that way, but that's a pain in the neck.

    That particular Kbase article is the inverse of the question....
    It describes device to computer transfers but says nothing about transferring from computer to device.
    In fact, the implication from that article is that it CANNOT be done!

  • Print from .csv or .txt file

    Hello Experts,
    I am new to ABAP development.
    Is there any way to print the content of an .csv or .txt file.
    For example my report will have a selection screen where we will upload a file containing "Hello world" when we execute the output screen will show "Hello World".
    Regards,
    Sarnava

    Hi Sarnava,
    If your are selecting file from your system desktop then use  GUI_UPLOAD to upload data in data_tab and then while applying loop at this internal table split the code at ',' or space and fill internal table with your relevant fields.
    Loop at final internal table and display on output screen.
    DATA: BEGIN OF I_APPFEED OCCURS 0,
             RECORD(200)  TYPE C,
           END   OF I_APPFEED.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
         EXPORTING
           FILENAME                = LV_FILE (path of .csv file from desktop)
         TABLES
           DATA_TAB                = I_APPFEED
    LOOP AT I_APPFEED INTO GWA_LOC_APP.
         SPLIT GWA_LOC_APP AT ','
        into wa_fields.
    append wa_fields to it_fields.
    endloop.
    loop at it_fields into wa_fields
    write: wa_fields-fields.
    endloop.
    Hope, this will solve your issue or let me know if you want something else.

  • How to read and write a string into a txt.file

    Hi, I am now using BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform version10. I am using J2EE is my programming language. The problem I encounter is as the above title; how to read and write a string into a txt.file with a specific root directory? Do you have any sample codes to reference?
    I hope someone can answer my question as soon as possible
    Thank you very much.

    Accessing the file system directly from a web app is a bad idea for several reasons. See http://weblogs.java.net/blog/simongbrown/archive/2003/10/file_access_in.html for a great discussion of the topic.
    On Weblogic there seems to be two ways to access files. First, use a File T3 connector from the console. Second, use java.net.URL with the file: protocol. The T3File object has been deprecated and suggests:
    Deprecated in WebLogic Server 6.1. Use java.net.URL.openConnection() instead.

  • Need existing custom script to run with a .csv or .txt file

    Hi, Scripting Guys!
    I am a very novice novice when it comes to PowerShell -- I'll state that up front. So apologies if the answer to this is really basic. I am trying to use a script written by someone else, where I can simply paste in the script, identify the user by any one
    of several attributes, and the magic happens (in this case, all mail attributes in the AD Object are cleared and then the email address is added back in, resetting that object to the point where IDSync can run).  For a single user at a time, it works
    perfectly.
    .\Reset-MailAccountforIDSync.ps1 -Identity "[email protected]"
    My problem is that I have a .csv file with 60 users I need to run this script on, and there's a possibility of other large batches in the future.  How can I convert this single user script into one that can work with a .csv or .txt file?
    Thanks, Stormicat/J.L.Newmark

    This will do the trick.
    $csv=Import-Csv users.csv
    foreach($user in $csv){
    .\Reset-MailAccountforIDSync.ps1 -Identity $user.Mail
    Of course you will have to learn enough to understand that so start here:

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • SPRY using .csv or .txt file

    Hello,
    I am interested in any ideas on the best way to get Spry
    working with a .csv or .txt file? We sometimes have the misfortune
    <vbg> of having to take others files (.csv or .txt file) and
    display them in a table format without converting them.
    I looked at the raw data non-xml example but that is using
    some static data.
    Thanks in advance...
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
    You might want to take a look at my patched version of Spry,
    where I added JSON support to Spry. It's available here:
    Doug's Spry Patch.
    It would be pretty easy to add a CSVDataSet or a TxtDataSet
    using what I put in place there.
    However, please note, this is of course not officially
    sanctioned by Adobe, and I know they are working on a way to offer
    support for different kinds of data in the next version, so this
    might all get chucked out the window in the next round. But if you
    really need it now, then this might be an avenue you'd want
    to explore.

  • How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

    How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

    You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
    One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any).  Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
    An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.
    Edit : more info on file sharing from the manual :
    File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.
    Apps that support file sharing appear in the File Sharing Apps list in iTunes. For each app, the Files list shows the documents that are on iPad. See the app’s documentation for how it shares files; not all apps support this feature.
    Connect iPad to your computer.
    In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
    In the File Sharing section, select an app from the list on the left.
    On the right, select the file you want to transfer, then click “Save to” and choose a destination on your computer.
    Transfer a file from your computer to iPad:
    Connect iPad to your computer.
    In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
    In the File Sharing section, click Add.
    Select a file, then click Choose (Mac) or OK (PC).
    The file is transferred to your device and can be opened using an app that supports that file type. To transfer more than one file, select each additional file.
    Delete a file from iPad: Select the file in the Files list, then tap Delete.

    What I read in the PDF version of the manual (while I was waiting for my plane this afternoon), it seems pretty comprehensive. I was particularly interested in what it had to say about creating your own templates.
    Supposedly, it will remember if I left invisibles showing in templates (one of my big complaints with Pages 1). I'll find out soon enough. I must say that opening my two documents I use for answering posts here in discussions sure did open faster & navigating an 11-page table was much faster.
    Another good thing I noticed, the font used for the serial number is much clearer & there were no confusing characters - O/0, S/5, etc.

  • How can I write waveform data to a txt file or an excel sheet?

    I want have a table that I can follow up in excel. In first column should be the timestamp (in ms or better in us), in the second column should be the value. I made an effort but it doesn´t work.
    Attachments:
    PWMReadWrite.vi ‏167 KB

    Yes, you must change block (Get Date/Time String.vi).
    You must write new subVI - this new VI convert date and time to the second [or ms or us].
    First choice is: time column will be count of second [the better ms or best us] since 12:00 a.m., January 1, 1904, Universal time[function "Get Date/Time In Seconds.vi"].
    Text file:
    3216546154,000 0.000000
    3216546154,050 0.062791
    3216546154,100 0.125333
    Second choice is: first record in TXT file will be time when test start and after will be table with time [ms or us] and value.
    Text file:
    Start time: Monday 30-th February 2005.
    0,000 0.000000
    0,050 0.062791
    0,100 0.125333
    Have a nice day.
    JCC
    P.S.: I recommend you creat header of result table to text file.
    Text file:
    time [ms] U [V]
    3216546154,000 0.000000
    3216546154,050 0.062791

  • How to write exception information into a txt file??

    i got a program which generate lots of exception information. its hard to see from the screen, is there any way to make the input into some txt file?
    when i use
    try
    }catch(Exception ex)
    // to do something here and make the output into a txt file?
    }

    depending upon the version of jdk being used one of the options will be to fetch the StackTraceElement array and writing each of the element using the standard file io operation
                StackTraceElement[] elements = ex.getStackTrace();
                int noOfElements = elements.length;
                for (int i=0; i<noOfElements;i++)
                      //fetch the stacktrace element and write to a file.
